That's a good question, but we'll have to go ask them if we want to find the answer~ That or the captives. (She hummed.) We could ask those two, but I'm getting the feeling we won't be getting much more out of them~
They'd become strangely compliant at some point, but even so they still remained enigmatic on some points, such as their deity. Lots of preaching but little of actual substance, so either they didn't want to tell or they didn't know much more. The druidess shrugged as she stepped through the large doorway, her freely swishing tail clearly displaying her casual attitude even as the two of them were about to enter the lair of a cult which would kidnap people and do... something with them.

If you're worried about traps maybe you should go in front? Your reflexes are better than mine~
Vina didn't exactly like the idea of endangering Fina, but then again, she didn't get the impression that this place would be that dangerous. The two cultists had done a very poor job intimidating her, so the songstress expected the two of them to make their way through fairly easily. After all, she was actually quite the competent support and Fina was a one-feline-army.

Let's find out~!
She laughed in response to Fina's observation that those words almost always preceded trouble, then led the way inside. At least, at first, since Fina might want to take her up on that offer to go in front.
At first it was only Vina's crackling orb that lit the way, with the green glow of the walls having little effect beyond showing them were the walls were. However, it didn't take long for light to appear in the distance, and as they walked closer it revealed torches sticking out of the walls, held in place by stone sconces shaped like... either vines or tentacles, coiled around the hardened wood while their flaming heads burned fitfully, throwing shimmering warm light across the path. Vina stepped closer to one of the torches to study the artistic style of the sconce, leaning in close enough that her nose almost touched it.

That's an unusual design... but it suits the place. (She frowned.) Looks like it's still in good condition. Maybe the cultists are trying to fix this place up~?
Most geomancers had difficulty shaping stone with this kind of precision, but if they had a dedicated stoneshaper it wasn't impossible. After giving the stone sconce a pat Vina turned back to the path, which so far had been a straightforward line deeper into the outcrop.
A tradition which was soon abandoned: after the first couple of torches they entered a lobby of sorts, with four torch-lit openings ahead of them. At first glance there weren't any clear indications of what each path would lead to, although the carvings on the walls were a little less worn here: they showed a network of roots spreading across everything, and amidst the roots figures were performing various tasks. The exact details were hard to make out, but most displays looked like they involved multiple figures.

Four paths... (Vina wiped the sweat from her brow as she walked into the middle of the room.) They all look the same to me. (She turned to Fina.) Do you have any suggestions Fina~?
It was surprisingly warm down here: as they walked down into the depths of the ruins the cold of the outside had quickly vanished, presumably warded off by the heat of the torches. Although at the same time that wasn't quite correct: it was a more pleasant heat, like it was spreading from within. For now it just made them more comfortable wearing clothes better suited for warmer climates, but the longer they stayed the more they would begin to feel more than just comfort.
