The following takes place after both Next Destination 1 and Encounters of the Calculating Kind. Regardless of any future threads, this is the last Lady N post in S4's timeline.

By the time you receive this. You will already know about VRS's closure through our public statement. This message was sent through our private network. and will delete itself in 20 seconds. Although now, even this method will not be private for long. VRS has been compromised by multiple actors. One of my more recent acquaintances had brought to light my over confidence. I guess I am the most reckless of us all. Involving others into my personal hell was a mistake.

Even if this had not happened. The path to bankruptcy was not far off. I am no longer capable of even maintaining the last home of my father. It is in terrible condition outside of the small portion that I personally maintained for living.

I want you to know that your work, however small, was appreciated. I created VRS for an idea that I realize may have made others lives worse rather than better. In truth, it was never for them, but for me.

I will be leaving the country, given another name, have my identity scrubbed from the internet, and no longer have agency over my life.. All of VRS's service level employees personal data is now in the hands of dangerous individuals.

This is not the VRSA or Nexus. At least, I don't think they are connected. To be honest, I don't know the full scope of what is going on. Just that it is happening and I am now swept up in it.

To the few who went the extra mile to work with me on Terrasphere. Do not search for me. Do not investigate VRS's closure and you are free from any assignments involving my father's company from here on.

It is possible you will be contacted in the future, but these people do not have your best interests at heart. I never really did either which with the last remaining care I have for this life, I apologize.

The message arrived when Aisling was smoking, mind still on her sudden unemployment. It was something she'd always been prepared for (startups were always shaky), but it had still shaken her in a way she hadn't expected.

It was a timed message, but, well. It was hard to avoid the classic analog trick of "take a photo of the computer screen before it's gone." And then she'd shot off a response, one that probably wouldn't be read but expressed her feelings about the whole situation.

The idol didn't even have time to process all the information, watching as the message wiped itself from her device. After Chelsea, any of them could be the next target now, for unknown reasons.

Tapping her desk several times, her eyes went from the screen of her laptop to her phone back and forth, waiting for a response to a message sent to a certain knowledgeable individual.
