Personality
May has grown up as something of a wallflower, always on the outside looking into the warmth of relationships and friendships she wished that she could have. She's a quiet and soft spoken girl, slightly difficult to get to really open up in a conversation and even with a close relationship with her, it can be hard to get her to use more than a few words at a time. She's always been the kind of person to try to do more with less, especially when it comes to using her words.
She's a very team oriented person, willing to work with basically anybody, no matter how that person or group has treated her or continued to treat her. This could be down to the fact that she is weak willed and easy to push around. She's incredibly susceptible to peer pressure, or to simply being forced to do something. She has an incredibly hard time telling somebody 'no', even if that person is a very bad person.
She does try to stay positive, though. She hates to fight or hurt things and so would prefer to heal and support where possible. She will nearly always pick a role that does not involve combat and she tries to always see the best qualities in people, even the ones that were mean to her.
May derives her sense of self worth from how much other people need her. The more people need her, the better she feels about herself.
Positive: Kind, Quiet, Obedient, Positive, Cooperative
Negative: Shy, Indecisive, Withdrawn, Pacifistic, Sensitive
Background
Nobody can really say for sure when the exact moment was that May's personality collapsed inwards and the girl began to withdraw from the world, but around that time, the bullying began. It started in middle school, getting worse and worse, becoming more and more normal until eventually, it just became a key fact of life. Just as the sky was blue and the sun did shine, May was bullied. It continued on and on. Even though she was a good student, even though she had a friend or two, she was an easy target.
And she withdrew every time. She would never push for her bullies to be punished and would even plead with teachers and correctional staff to be easy and kind towards her bullies. She had never wanted to see anybody be punished or hurt just because they were pushing her around. Of course she wanted to escape her treatment, but she wanted to escape it through her own kindness.
In university, she had been so sure that the bullying would stop, now that she was to be surrounded by mature, young adults. Instead, it had changed, getting worse and worse, more physical and humiliating.
But then it stopped. Things began to get pretty good! Her main bully began being nicer and nicer! Treating her better! Like somebody important. Even somebody that she needed! It was an incredible feeling, finally having a friend that needed her! It validated everything she'd ever suspected, that her kindness could reach people and prove that they needed her.
It was through this 'friend' that she was introduced to the game known as Terrasphere, being given a copy and basically ordered to play it. May knew her friend was just shy about making such a request.
But she couldn't say no, anyway...
