'Home'
Evening
Her eyes spring open, a gasp escaping from her lips. A loud ring eats away at her ears, something that tries to snap her out of what little sleep she could catch. Her own alarmed state countered by the drowsiness she's victim of, instincts lunging her arm towards the nightstand, grasping onto the scabbard resting in vertical against the wall. The mechanical eye twitched and zoomed on as the greenette glanced over her shoulder, but found no one sharing the king-sized bed in the first place.
Then again that mechanical screech. This time she gets up, tightening her hold onto her weapon, quickly making it over to the bedroom's door and heading downstairs. Compared to the inns she used to rest on, there is something to be said about a two-story house, and one as embellished as theirs. Lacking any of the decor but with the foundations already set here and there, only missing furniture and memories to hang on the walls, and perhaps move the piano to a more isolated kind of room instead of right by the lobby.
She wouldn't allow that accursed bell Ronja installed to ring again. Her hand stretched out to grasp onto the set of oak doors, at first pulling the knobs fruitlessly, something visible from the outside as the struggle proves exactly what one would expect from a house in the woods: The door's locked. Fortunately, her past-self predicted she would run all the way down like this and left for her present-slash-future self the key with a bit of ductape against the frame.
It wouldn't be long for the mechanisms to click and the door to finally open, albeit far slower than one would expect, before she would let half of her face visible. A squinty, sleep-deprived face, fighting back against the sunlight she's hit with but biting down on the temporary blindness before refocusing her glare right onto the guest.
Chocolate skin, blonde hair, and the derpy face of nightmares. There was weight behind her silence, and her brain froze for a moment as she processed who this person was.
And then shut the door on their face.
