How long has it been?

Creature gently held his chest in the spot where that monster had punched a hole through him all those months ago while underground. Though it was a quick death the experience was… Unpleasant, to say the least. He hadn't quite felt the same afterward. In fact in the days to come he rarely felt any emotions in the game at all. The only exception seemed to be when music was playing. Regardless of the type he would always feel too much. It was strange, and more than a bit annoying. Who knew a game could have such a profound influence on someone's behavior. But then again no one thought a game would be able to kill people in the real world either. The realization was enough to make the man take a break at least. In the real world he could be normal and catch up on some things that had taken a backseat during his adventures. But, he could only put the VR headset down for so long. Had anything changed, he wondered.

The wave of emptiness once again washed over his heart as he wandered the streets of Stokbon. It should've felt good to be back. Perhaps a good place to start would be shifting gears toward curing the death curse that afflicts him.

While lost in thought Creature hardly noticed the sun had now risen above the horizon and the streets filled with players and NPCs alike. Though he was mindful not to step on any toes as he sifted through the crowd, he wasn't prepared for a harsh collision with the person in front of him.

"Ah… My bad… Didn't see you there..." Having lived in a city his whole life, he knew such incidents were commonplace. Yet the monotony in his voice and remorseless expression wasn't going to earn him any empathy points.
