Personality
A quiet and relatively unspoken woman, who only ever seems to speak up when she needs to, Sarah tries to make sure that every word she could possibly say matters as much as possible. She's the type to say in 100 words as much as somebody might attempt to say with double, or triple that. She has a distaste for waste, whether it be wasted time, wasted effort or any kind of material waste, such as wasted food or money. Though quiet, she's far from being antisocial or socially awkward. Rather, she chooses to let actions talk for her and to observe the words and actions of the people around her, for better or for worse.
Despite her occupation, she can actually be very slow to judge people, trying to see past their deeds and into the reasons why. She's an observant person, much more likely to overthink a situation than she is to rush in without thinking, but beyond it all is a kind heart that just wants people to be safe and happy. She has no desire to ruin peoples' fun, so long as it harms nobody. It brings her no joy when she has to play the role of the mature person and be a buzzkill, but it's a role she has and will gladly accept if it means keeping the people around her safe.
She tends to get angry when she sees people intentionally trying to make life worse for other people. Heck, she joined Terrasphere specifically in the hopes that she might stop people from hurting one another and track down the ones that do bring harm to others. With company that she's comfortable and familiar with, she can occasionally get a little chatty, but that's only in private and only with people she truly knows.
Inside however is a burning curiosity for all things, including Terrasphere itself, that she has to keep under lock and key no matter what, especially given the psyche evaluations and check ins she has to deal with. This leads to her repressing a lot of her emotional state, which can at times lead to more explosive outbursts than would be usual with her.

For the longest time, Sarah had no interest in VR technology or anything of the sort, instead her entire life from an early age had been focused almost exclusively on becoming a police officer or a detective, like she had seen in old noire films and crime thrillers. Her singleminded determination had blocked out all other occupations and employment opportunities that it seemed clear to her parents and teachers that she was destined to achieve her dream and join law enforcement. And of course, studious as she was, she succeeded. Coasting with ease through school and sliding straight into a position as a detective, after training of course, she quickly found her dream a reality.
Everything changed after 2024, when in response to the MetaVenture incident, the VRSA was created. It was a slow change at first, until 2026, when Terrasphere swept the world and the VRSA turned to law enforcement agencies to attempt to deal with the issue. She had found herself being transferred to the VRSA and prepared extensively to join the game in some form. Though, perhaps sadly, she had been unable to be deployed before 2029, when the VRSA succeeded in blocking signals to the Terrasphere servers.
And that was supposed to have been the end of it and Sarah was supposed to have returned to a peaceful, VR free life, until rumors that Terrasphere was back and people were online again surfaced. And then she was called back, given her briefing and training once again, before being presented with a copy of the client, alongside the contact for her handler for the case. It seemed that, this time, detective Aern would be travelling to another world, to save lives and to seek out the truth.
