It seemed that this would become a contest to see which of them could devour more of the other woman first, which was fine by Ginevra, considering that Lucille just looked so delicious to her that she couldn't help herself. She watched in amazement as Lucille unleashed a wave of darkness that consumed and destroyed her dark tendrils, before it wrapped around Lucille, as if caught in her gravity and slingshotting around her, then launching at Ginevra once again.

It ripped against her skin like a chilling, cold wind, sucking out her Dark Magic as it scraped against her. All she could really do was grit her teeth and deal with it, inky blackness radiating off of her body as it was dragged into the wave.

And then she felt the wave pass her by and she could release what was left of her energy for one last attack. A non-lethal one, of course, but a last, desperate attack! A sigil of black magic began to spin, radiating above both of her palms, before Lucille would be surrounded by dark portals.

And out of each portal, a set of tendrils would lash out and attempt to ensnare the wolf again, this time lashing out with force and speed that they'd lacked before. Attempting to seize each limb and the neck, then drag Lucille to all fours.

Her attack finally landed again and brought Ginevra down to Lucille's level. She could sense that their energy was about equal now, and that the fight was drawing to a close. Lucille had already started conjuring up an ultimate move in her head that she could finish the fight with when her opponent suddenly emerged from the wave of dark energy and managed to get her attack off first.

As the portals opened up, the lupine girl stumbled a bit and failed to leap away as the tendrils shot forward, wrapping around her limbs. But before they could bring her down, she would fight back with everything she had. Channeling what remained of her dark energy into her body to power it up. As she flexed her muscles, the tendrils of darkness would be stretched to their limit, their conjurer probably even feeling that they were about to be snapped.

Alas, it was not meant to be. Just as she nearly escaped the grasp, Lucille ran dry of energy. With no mana left, even her physical energy collapsed, and the tentacles were free to force her to the ground and into submission. "Ghah— damn—!" There were no words she could use to express herself in this situation. Not to mention a construct of dark energy around her throat and restraining her windpipe in general. Her ears and tail drooped down, and her dual-colored eyes looked up at the Queen of Darkness, resolve visibly broken.

It was close, she could feel the energy that Lucille was summoning up, channeling her dark power into her body to empower it and fight back against the tendrils that had began to snap and coil around her, though in the end it wasn't to be, as Lucille collapsed first and the tendrils dragged her to her hands and knees, forced to bow in subjugation to the Dark Knight, who stood proud and tall.

Before nearly wobbling as her own energy hit zero. Still, she needed to cement herself as the strongest before she released Lucille, so she made her way over, leaving her sword planted in the ground for now as she stopped in front of Lucille.

The first tendril she dispelled was the one that wrapped around Lucille's neck, as it retreated back into the dark portal it had come from, which then closed behind the tendril. Her hand reached down to cup Lucille's chin and made the girl look up at her.

Nevermind the fact that she was already looking up at her...

You fought well, Wolf of Eternal Darkness. I've not been pushed to my limits before now. I have to say, you are as powerful as you are pleasing to the eyes~

The tendrils slowly began to release Lucille, but not before Ginevra could place a hand on the wolf girl's head and begin to give her scratches behind the ear.

I have nothing but respect for you and the depths of your darkness. And I am glad to see that we are so destined for one another, that even our powers know to seek each other out~

To remain on the ground in front of the winner, that was now her role. Never mind the fact that she would need a moment to summon up enough energy to stand up again. But now that the duel was over, the two would return to more friendly terms instead of trying to tear each other down. The tendrils no longer restraining her was a nice bonus.

Though when the scratching behind her ears began, Lucille couldn't help but close her eyes and pout a bit. "Hnnn— truly… Thee are worthy of thyne title, Queen of Darkness. To be the first who could defeat the Wolf of Eternal Darkness—hnn—and emerged victorious, still standing…"

They might have thought that there was a connection between them before. But after exchanging blows and feeling each other's darkness, it was clear that the two would venture into the world of Terrasphere together. If their magics could interact in such a way while they were hostile toward one another, just what could they produce if they worked together instead?

But of course. Our strength was never in question. Individually, we are both champions of the darkness, but together, we shall become something far greater than that. A void, so dark and black that they will worship the very ground beneath our feet.

She continued her ear scratching even as she dispensed her impromptu speech, though inwardly, her thoughts turned to other topics, such as how she was going to get a collar for Lucille and how she might get the girl to wear it. Now THAT would be fun. And plus, she had to stake her claim on such a perfect match now! It was only right!

Though tell me, Lucille, if you think that a woman such as myself should really sit alone, on the throne. The throne can be quite a cold and lonely thing, for the single ruler. But with two queens?~

She let the insinuation hang as she continued to scratch behind Lucille's ears, before she finally let go and offered her hand to help Lucille stand. And definitely not so they could support each other on such low energy. Because she definitely wasn't about to fall over.

Put some thought to what it would feel like, for two women like us to share the world, together~

Lucille smiled. Ginevra did indeed speak the truth. They were both superior beings standing on equal ground. Those who were beneath them were all the other beings in this world. Perhaps this was not a fight to determine which one of them was stronger, but instead, whether they each deserved the other. And as they displayed their overwhelming power and still emerged alive, they had proven just that.

"Fufu… my claws shall tear apart all who would challenge this throne of ours. Yes, the world is vast, and thus, the Dark Will needed two agents rather than one! I accept your offer, Queen of Darkness! Between my claws and your blade, we will have no equal!" Just as the scratching stopped, her tail would wag in excitement again, and her hand would meet her partner's halfway through.

As she scrambled to get up, she would grin just like before. "Yes, first we should secure a lair of Darkness to return to… before the throne will be rightfully ours. I believe I have seen an inn in Stokbom that would meet our standards!" It was perhaps a bit amusing how such a mundane thing as an inn made its way into the girl's speech. But what else were they gonna do, hole up in a cave without any beds?

The wagging tail made Ginevra grin and chuckle, nodding as Lucille too found her resolve to join Ginevra on her quest for the darkness, unwittingly stepping closer into the woman's arms. It was all falling so perfectly into place that it felt like somebody was setting it all up for her. And their hands grasped as Lucille accepted her offer and chose to join her. Her own little pet wolf. How lovely was that?~

I knew that I could count on you to make the intelligent and rational decision, Lucille~

She helped the beastkin girl to her feet, before nodding along as Lucille mentioned an inn in Stokbon that would serve them well. From this point forwards they were partners and that meant they would stick together. Most of the time. Sometimes they would head off by themselves for character development, but that was just how these things tended to go.

Oh my dear, you are full of wonderful ideas. Please lead the way and I shall introduce you to the wonderful world of taverns and celebration. Because todays events call for celebration, I do believe. You will join me in my dark revelry, will you not, Wolf of Eternal Darkness?

She offered her arm for Lucille to take, before she gave a quick grunt, a small tendril of darkness retrieving her sword for her, which she stored in her inventory. She wouldn't need it for now, anyway.
