A swing of her giant blade, Behemoth, carved through the trunk of another tree, tendrils of dark magic reaching out to sap the color and life from it, the blonde haired wielder of the sword cackling manically as she watched something else die. She'd been at this for a few minutes now, revelling in her new strength and grinning every time she managed to carve through something. She'd yet to actually find anything that her hefty blade hadn't been able to chop through. It was such a darkly gorgeous thing that she couldn't help but admire it when she looked at it, at the strange gemstone eye that was fitted in the crossguard section.

Screw what the haters said! Corruption was only evil if the wielder was on the losing side!

It didn't quite feel like a slag of raw iron, though she certainly noticed the weight every time that she swung it. The action assist system had been absolutely fucking useless! A bunch of shitty slow, wide, horizontal swings that would have left her wide fucking open. There had been no way she would have stuck to using that system, even if somebody had paid her, or stripped for her, every time that she used it.

And then she noticed another person emerging from the treeline. She grinned, spinning her massive blade and planting the tip into the dirt, leaning against it as she looked at the newcomer.

So, finally, somebody dares to show their face? Don't just skulk in the shadows of nature! Let me lay my eyes upon you and be blessed by my gaze!

Within the darkness (shadow cast by the trees), a wolf growled (Lucille made a funny sound). She had noticed the commotion nearby when she was training by herself, seeking out various mobs and tearing them to shreds with her masteries to slowly increase their rank and unlock even more cool abilities. Whatever was making such a ruckus must have been at least a mini-boss, and the girl was ready for the extra XP!

It was then quite surprising when she found that the source of such destruction was another player. One that managed to spot Lucille as she remained in the shadow of one of the trees (she was not actually hiding). "HOHO! So you managed to spot me… IMPRESSIVE!" Walking out of the shade, the girl would reveal the whole of her magnificent form! Unlike the last time she had met someone in Eastern Brisshal, she had custom-made gear! And it was rags for aesthetics and ease of movement, not because she didn't have any gold and could not afford anything else!

"To leave such devastation in one's wake with power from beyond… I SENSE A KINDRED SOUL WITHIN THEE!" She then exclaimed, opening her arms in a welcoming gesture. "It must have been destiny that made our paths intersect on this day. Indeed, what a fortunate event this is! REVEAL THY NAME, DARK SWORD-MASTER!!"

The emergence of a fellow woman made Ginevra grin, the sight of the wolf girl coming into view, wearing rags and such. They were truly form displaying and Ginevra couldn't help but let a low purr rumble in the back of her throat, eyes raking up and down the woman's form. Those rags, scrap cloth though they were, really made the girl look quite the sight. Of course, Ginevra could see it now. They were clearly the same and yet opposites too. This wolf revealed her body to show others a treasure that they could not claim, whilst Ginevra wore such fine clothing to show others a height they could not reach.

Truly, it must be fated, for somebody as I to find a soul sister so quickly and fortuitously. And such a fetching one at that~

She purred again, stepping closer, ripping her sword from the ground and placing it over her shoulder as she moved up towards the woman. Rather than immediately stepping into Lucille's arms, she took a few steps in a circle around her, admiring the view from every angle, even crouching to see if she could see underneath those scraps.

Though when that was said and done, she planted her sword firmly into the ground, stepping into Lucille's arms and pulling the girl close, her lips dangerously close to one of those fluffy ears.

My name is Ginevra Delaney, my lovely wolf. I am the White Shadow of the Dark Challenger. You'll be moaning my name soon, so learn it well~

She pulled away from the girl's ear and gave her a smile.

What do they call you?

Catching each other's eye, this was bound to be an exciting encounter. And since the gesture of her hands was largely symbolic, those fur-laden hands would soon find themselves resting at the wolf's hips. Only her heterochromic eyes kept on observing the dark swordswoman as she approached with her giant weapon. It was impressive, alright, but one could ever truly rely on their own body!

And while it was curious that the other woman would walk around Lucille and like that, as if she was eyeing prey, the wolf of eternal darkness allowed it. After all, there was nothing to be afraid of here. She was fully confident in her abilities now, after several days of doing almost nothing but familiarizing herself with everything important.

That said, she was pretty surprised when Ginevra went in for an embrace. "Hum?" Her body barely flinched; she just didn't expect such an eager form of greeting from a fellow of the dark. "Oho? We shall see about that, Swordmaster of the Dark. You may call me Lucille Fer, the Wolf of Eternal Darkness!" She introduced herself with all the fanfare she deserved. And while she didn't quite fully know what was meant by 'moaning her name', she just assumed it was something along the lines of being beaten by the other woman in a fight.

And there was the name of her soul sister, and such a dark and fitting name it was too! Ginevra let out a laugh and a grin, her arms squeezing around Lucille. It seemed the woman was playing coy with her, even taking her up on her offer and challenging her. Oh, they would find out who would moan the other's name, most certainly. Ginevra couldn't wait to see which one of them folded first, though it would be a glorious night for both of them, of that she also had no doubt.

Lucille Fer! Truly a woman after my own heart and the perfect soulmate for a queen of darkness! Oh how I've longed to meet somebody like you!

She sighed dramatically as she let go of the wolf girl. She'd always wanted a pet wolf! Things were really turning up for her, it seemed. All that was really left to do was establish which one of them was in control and then bond some. Not necessarily in that order.

So then, Wolf of Eternal Darkness, which of the dark powers do you possess? What demons and fiends do you conspire with in your pursuits for greater power, pleasure, freedom and sin?

Having someone proclaim themselves to be the queen of darkness was quite amusing. But then again, the woman in front of her was the only person she had seen so far that could possibly stand up to that title! Perhaps this really was the work of fate, the machinations behind this world setting things in motion so that these two could erect a kingdom of darkness to overlook the mortal realm, and rule the peasants who would look up at them in envy!

"Fufu, you wish to witness my power? VERY WELL!" Thankfully, Lucille had already learned how to control her masteries and utilize their possible combinations to unleash skills that were both destructive and *very cool*! So to begin, she would let the darkness come forth from the combination of metamorph and dark magic, the black tattoo-like markings appearing on her body once more, glowing with an eerie red hue. Even her dual-colored eyes seemed to have a faint glare to them.

Not only that, both her legs and hands would become coated in dark magic, almost radiating power! "Behold, the claws and fangs of the mightiest Wolf of Darkness! There is nothing in this world I cannot rip apart and devour!"

At the display of Lucille's power, Ginevra couldn't help but clap her hands as she watched a fellow lady of darkness call upon her powers, before black markings appeared all over her body and glowed red, before they coated her arms and legs in dark magic. It was some kind of enhancement to the wild girl's natural weapons, which in turn, meant that she was far more impressive than before.

Ah, excellent! Truly, what better armaments could you possibly ask for than ones that exude such a dark power? You are truly a woman of much culture and beauty, my eternally dark wolf~

She looked forwards to seeing what the girl's claws would be able to rip apart. She could almost feel the power radiating off of them. Almost. Still, she was not one to be outdone! Lucille needed a reason to submit and bow to her new queen, to respect her!

Now I shall show you my own dark madness! Rejoice in my darkness!

She wrenched her greatsword out of the ground, holding it in both hands, before she raised it up in the air, in the kind of gesture one might expect from a paladin, casting a spell. Instead, wisps of inky blackness began to emanate from the jewel in her sword.

SALTED FIELDS!

And like that, a Corrupted miasma of death, darkness and decay formed in a circle a few feet away from them, the grass underneath it rotting and dying. A bird that had been pecking at a worm began to wither and shrivel up, black energy seeping through its veins, until it dropped dead.

"Fufufu, yes, YES! ADMIRE MY WONDERFUL POWERS!" Lucille was looking for and wasn't getting this kind of validation from anyone else. Now she was properly convinced that these two would stick together through the thin and thick. Especially after Ginevra figured she should also showcase her own powers, for which the dark wolf was very curious.

When the blade was risen into the air and started producing dark wisps of death, she almost had the notion of taking a step back just in case the fog would reach all the way to her. She might have commanded supreme dark powers, but it wasn't like she was immune to the same thing used by someone else. Thankfully she didn't have to.

"Oho, fascinating! To have a command over death itself, magnificent! Fufu, but it be best that you do not lose your blade, Queen of Darkness! It seems to be imperative to your powers. Perhaps I should divulge some of my most guarded secrets to you about how to empower one's body?"

Yes! My power is marvellous, isn't it? You'd be correct if you were in awe, of found me worthy of worship!

Gosh, it was a good feeling to have somebody be an audience and be so well aligned with her. Honestly, Ginevra was starting to believe in the concept of soul mates. Finding somebody so well adapted to being her partner in crime felt so incredibly fortuitous that it had to be fated.

Though she smirked at the offer of advice, as if she knew something that Lucille didn't. To be fair, she actually did know something that Lucille didn't, but it still felt good to internalize and acknowledge that feeling.

Ah, but I would love to study all of the little secrets of your body, my dear wolf friend~

She winked to the dark wolf, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively as she let go of her sword, raising her hands in the air, before she cast the exact same spell without using her sword, creating a second circle of death that was no different to the first, just to prove that the sword was not the source of her powers.

But you are wrong to assume that my sword is the key to my ability. On the contrary, I am a woman so steeped in darkness and power, that the sword borrows power from me, not the other way around! Still, I would not say no to some private lessons with a maiden so lovely and delectable as yourself~

Being utterly oblivious to advances of almost any kind was still part of just how Lucille was. Her life outside the game didn't exactly allow her to experience anything of the sort, and research could only get her so far. So instead, she just figured that the other woman was praising the wolf's body's dark powers and physical ability. "AHAHA, Very well, queen of darkness! You alone may have the privilege of learning the way of a night wolf!"

She even showcased how she could use her powers without the blade in her hands. Now that was impressive! It made the wolf girl grin. "I see. Perhaps I have underestimated you… you truly are seeped in the darkness beyond the wildest imagination, just like me! Fufu, there really is no reason to have doubts~!"

There was almost a moment when the wolf started harboring some doubts, but they were quickly dispelled by the mist of death that arose even without the help of a giant sword.

Hah! Her advances were being reciprocated, as she had expected from a woman that was so utterly similar to herself in all of the best possible ways. Not that there were any bad ways to be similar to her, aside from maybe in the desire to be dominant. Still, it was so pleasing to hear that Lucille was interested and would let her 'study' the wolf's body. And more importantly, Lucille had said that 'she alone' could learn. Ginevra had known that she had made a bewitching form, but it seemed that Lucille was already ensnared by her beauty.

Of course there is no room for doubt. For women such as us, steeped in the darkness and destined to ascend to incredible powers, there is no reason to doubt. There is no need for words or explanations.

She stepped closer to Lucille, until they were standing side by side, brushing the beastkin's hip with her own and wrapping an arm around her waist to pull Lucille closer. A collar would look good on this girl, she figured. That would be her first addition, once she'd secured her dominance and position as the dark queen.

Between us, we don't need words to understand one another. Like me, you are a woman of the world, one that understands the significance of the power and darkness we wield. As I'm sure you understand that every queen needs her followers, her generals and guards~

Ginevra spoke the truth. The two of them were connected on a much deeper level than mortals could possibly comprehend! The darkness bound them together, made them of one mind! They were two separate beings, but they would strive to achieve their eternal kingdom as one! Or so Lucille figured, but it seemed that the queen of darkness had other plans of her own to insert into the play. She even got quite close and personal to convey these.

"Hum? Does thee suggest that I, Lucille, the Wolf of Eternal Darkness, assume one of those positions? To be a follower, general, a guard? Fufu, it sounds like you wish for me to stand beneath you rather than next to you. FOOLISH!" Her dark powers would flourish, the wind around them howling in anger. This would not be had! "The one thing that truly matters in this world… is POWER! I will gladly follow those who wield it. You may hold exceptional abilities, but one will not stand above me!"

This one spoke the language of power too, it seemed! She understood that it was might that made right and not such silly notions as justice, honor or morality. Ginevra felt a smile slipping onto her lips, even as Lucille began to summon forth her power. If Lucille would only follow power, the Ginevra would show her that she had power worth following, that the wolf would be far better off if she just submitted to the Dark Knight and accepted her place.

YES! That's right! Show me your power, dear wolf of darkness! Show me just how deep and dark it can grow! Only the strongest and the darkest can stand beside me! Not beneath me, as you believe, but by my side!

She let go of Lucille, making her way over to her greatsword, before she grasped it out of the ground and flourished it, before resting it on her shoulder. A dark miasma began to gather around the two of them as their dark powers climbed.

I would have you demonstrate your abilities firsthand against me, Lucille! Make me feel alive! Make my heart pump and my blood boil! And I will bare my all to you as well!

Her sword left her shoulder, the tip pointed at Lucille, before she gave it another flourish and entered a battle ready stance for the first time.

Let it be known that there are no sour feelings in this battle! I would have you as partner and equal, not as an underling. But I will have you, Wolf of Darkness! Let us clash and sharpen our skills upon one another!

So it all culminated in this. Of course, if it was power that they would respect, then a mere showcase of their abilities would not be enough! They had to taste those powers first-hand to ensure that the other was not all bark with no bite.

As Ginevra walked away and picked up her sword, Lucille would grin and stretch. "Very well! If you wish to taste my claws… THEN I SHALL HAPPILY OBLIGE!" This would be the girl's first time fighting a player, but she figured it couldn't be that much more different from going at a regular mob.

Since the wolf girl was already plenty prepared, she figured she would start with a swift and straightforward strike. Bearing her claws, she would lower her posture before dashing forward, dirt and grass flying behind her as her feet dug into the ground. Empowered by black magic, she would dash by her opponent with a slash along the way, aimed directly at the other woman's body. Regardless of whether it would hit or not, Lucille would end up some distance behind Ginevra as she slowed down from the rush.

There was a brief pop up in the UI of both girls, notifying them that PvP had been enabled and that they would not be dealing lethal damage to each other. Which was fine. Whilst Lucille's blood was probably the finest blood that Ginevra would ever spill, she did not want to bleed her soulmate dry on their first meeting. Though since they were both prepared, Ginevra could only heft her sword in preparation for a fast and animalistic claw strike, as would be predicted from Lucille, given what she'd displayed.

The speed at which the attack came meant that she could not use the flat of her greatsword as a shield, like she had intended to, so instead she allowed the claws to rake across her, claws raking through Ginevra's clothing and ripping through some of her extravagent dress.

Yet, there was a burst of dark magic, a single hex applied to Lucille's hand.

Fool! HATE REACTION!

The hex would glow, before a single orb of darkness would manifest above Ginevra and begin to hone in on the hex that she had placed on Lucille.

Lucille noticed the dark mark quickly, but instead of attempting to outrun the orb of darkness, she attempted to use her own dark powers to nullify the mark. Suffice to say, it did not quite work as she thought it would, instead making the incoming attack faster and eventually hitting her and engulfing her in an explosion of darkness. "Hnf— as expected of someone like you!" Still, the girl smiled as, entranced by the display.

Trying for retaliation right away, she would power through the dark energy and dash forward, leaping into the air and, using her martial prowess and land a heavy blow on her way toward the ground, aiming straight at the other woman. That said, it felt like there wasn't much force behind her attack? Did she do something wrong when jumping into the air?

There was little time to think about all of that, instead focusing on trying to at least land the hit and not whiffing completely; that'd be a bit embarrassing.

Ginevra could only grin as she watched Lucille attempt to rid herself of the hex by flooding it with her own dark power. They were a perfect match, so of course it would only make her attack faster and stronger, slamming into Lucille and engulfing her in an explosion of dark power.

Come now Lucille! For soulmates such as we, you should know that your power will only ever attract my own!

And then Lucille was leaping through the air, intending to land a heavy blow, having not realized that contact with the ground was pretty essential to generate any real force behind a blow. Still, prepared to teach Lucille such a lesson, Ginevra planted her feet solidly, raising her greatsword just in time to catch the blow on the flat of it, angled to protect her like a shield.

And then with a wordless roar, she slashed outwards, aiming to use the flat of her blade to pick up and launch Lucille into the floor, where a painful impact would await her.

Messing up the preparation for her, it was of no surprise that the swordswoman blocked with minimal effort. The wolf clearly still had plenty of training ahead of her, which might have bruised her ego a little bit, but the fight was not over yet! Though they were slowly getting there. Such encounters, they were often over in a flash rather than lasting a long time. But just as the girl tried to get out of the way, the sword moved with great might and flung her to the ground. "Ghah—"

She would bounce and flip over, landing on all four. The moment her hands touched the ground, a seal of her own would appear below Ginevra. Perhaps relying on her martial prowess wasn't the best of ideas, so she would try out another attack of pure black magic instead. The seal would concentrate power and then erupt like a volcano, engulfing all above it in darkness if not evaded.

Her fling had been successful, launching Lucille down and into the floor, where she seemed to land painfully, before bouncing and landing on all fours. When she did, there was a seal that appeared below the Dark Knight, signifying that Lucille was trying to use her dark magic to attack her. Ginevra had a split second to consider her option.

And then she slammed the tip of her sword into the seal, the blade seeming to absorb the dark magic that was building up and about to be set off. It gave her enough time, delaying the buildup of energy, to step out of the blast radius, even as her blade was engulfed in darkness.

It was fine when it emerged from the darkness though.

I told you, your magic can only attract my own!

And with that, multiple tendrils of black energy erupted out of her blade, aiming to ensnare and capture Lucille. There were nine tendrils, two for each limb and one that aimed to coil softly around Lucille's neck.

They did move quite sluggishly though...

Letting out a long breath as she watched her opponent walk out of the explosion practically unharmed, the Wolf of Eternal Darkness couldn't help but marvel at least a little bit. To have an opponent that could so effortlessly shrug off her attacks, this might have just been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The grin on her face grew wider as she was approached, slowly standing up. "Fufu… you are correct, Queen of Darkness. But the opposite is true as well!"

It was as if she had noticed something when they clashed before. Extending her hand forth, there was some form of dark orb at the center of her palm. With a sudden pull motion, all of the tendrils would shoot toward Lucille as if she had physically grabbed them and yanked on them. "Devouring Dark!" Swinging her hand horizontally, she created a wave of blackness that consumed the tentacles. Circling the woman once, it would then travel toward Ginevra to consume some of her energy and life as well.
