Sometimes, it is a lot easier to get into a roleplay with pre-established relationships or linked-up character backgrounds. This thread allows you to list and find potential background stories or premises new characters can link to or pick up specific character requests.
Possible links include siblings, spouses, friends, coworkers, IRL person-of-interest. Make sure the interested parties know how often and in-depth you want to explore the link.
