Confident with the tautness of one of the few lines Lúthien had prepared the ranger took her bow and rested it atop it, both hands to the side, before the elf swung herself across the expanse of ocean to land on the Sea Raiders' ship... greatly aided by a boost of Aeromancy of course.

"Eah puñeta..."

She was surprise to see the utter chaos happening around the deck of the other ship, rare fish often being dropped and slipping through the floor as Travelers lost their grip on them or were intercepted by some of the raiders... among may other things currently happening. Through the chaos the blonde moved, hoping to spot a good cluster of fishes unattended, before using a strong burst of Aeromancy to try and launch them onto the deck of the Imperial Petunia...

"Hey Cid, can you cover us...?!"

Hopefully the Magia had some cool magitech tricks to keep the raiders busy and not paying attention to the antics that Jester, Lúthien and others were getting into. It was then she noticed the path her fish had taken… before realizing a certain redhead was in the line of fire (@Raid Boss) and causing Lúthien to shout out.

"Heads up, it’s raining fish!!!"

Getting the fish was easy. Getting the fish back into their ship safely was another matter, especially now that the enemy was on high alert after the first hauls. Fighting back against the raiders on the deck was one thing, but there were a good lot of them and a good whole of one of Harper. Fighting them head-on would be very much a losing battle, no matter how much she could hold on. So, she decided to use the chaos of the others arriving on the enemy deck to lose some of the heat behind her.

This would somewhat work, as Harper still had to throw quite a few enemies overboard before being truly safe. Unfortunately, some of the fish she was holding with her mouth had been shredded by the combat. Spitting them on the ground, the tigress would wipe her mouth. If anything, at least those rare fish tasted good. Getting a new batch into her fangs, she'd peek from her hiding spot.

Things were still hectic, but it seemed like she had left their mind enough for Harper to try and make a run for it. It didn't seem like she'd get an opportunity better than this one would appear, so the beastkin would start her dash towards the sea.

Making use of the fact that a lot of the enemies were distracted, she'd blindside one of them and tackle them, grabbing him up and using the poor sod as a meat shield from their friends' attacks, Harper would make her way through the deck, shouting a muffled warcry through the fish meat in her maw. "Mmmmph! Mph Mph!" Once in the end, she'd jump off into the sea, hiding her face from the water with the body she was holding.

After she found herself in the water, she'd try her best to make her way back into her original ship, more catch in hand... Or mouth, in this case.

"There's more than one kind of pirate? Why? ~Well, this could be a good chance to find some new marks, it's not like I'm the one responsible right~?"

She muttered clapping her hands. 3 weird dolls appeared. These were her poppets, the all-too-evil members of the poppet party or brigade (name pending).

"Holy crap we're on a boat~"
"Shiiiiiit~"
"Hahaha, I didn't think we'd get to go on the vacation boss~!"

Cynna sighed and kicked all three into the water with a splash where they promptly began drowning.

"Go see what you can find out about these Sea Raiders, and if you find anything interesting bring it back to me. You can do that while helping out whoever posts after me. And don't call me boss."

"""But we can't swim boss!"""

"Surpass your limits."

Cynna gave a thumbs up.

"And don't call me boss."

Because they were poppets they could float, but not that well. Out of sight and out of mind, Cynna then began looking for that person with the drinks...

The reel of Fate was turning, and the open seas were teeming. In and out, the adventurers went, diving into the waters with their brightly-colored swimsuits, their long limbs and powerful bodies propelling them ever faster towards the bounty of the Sea Raiders, ready to seek victory over an entirely separate group of oceanborne robbers through crime rather than technique.

But the ocean didn’t care. The ocean…hungered.

And when such exotic morsels of meat willingly tossed themselves into the waves, ineffectually floundering about with their unwebbed appendages, what could the ocean do but respond in kind to this most generous of gifts?

@Moonsong, diving deep, saw it first. Rising from the fathoms, bulbous eyes gleaming like twinned moons, suckered limbs reaching out from those silhouetted by surface-light!

Anime. Swimsuits. Summer.

What else could be next, except for…

OOC
Diving into the oceans to plunder the Raiders just got a whole lot tentaclely-er. Though fighting a Kraken underwater is a death sentence, fending off its tentacles will ensure that you make it back aboard your own ship. But, on the other hand...
  • When failing the Plunder action, you are considered to be snagged up by the Kraken's tentacles. Tag someone in the Discord to get them to release you in their next post as a Bonus Action. Or free yourself in your own next post as a Bonus Action.
  • No extra fish will be lost. It is punishment enough to get tentacled as flavor.
  • Alternatively, instead of rolling, you may decide to...Go Nuclear (0/10) and lure the Kraken to your competitors' ship. Laden with fish as they are, the Kraken would certainly target them once it becomes aware...
  • ...but if all the rules of this competition were to be broken, could it truly be considered a competition? How could you look Steph in the eye if you were to so flagrantly sabotage your honorable, criminal rivals and win through scoundrel-y means?

Giant squid! Nice!

Imoogi had no compunctions about fighting dirty. Besides, it only made sense to give those guys the same amount of trouble the kraken was giving them, right?

Still near the pirate's ship, she ripped a potion of irritating liquid from her belt and chucked it at the kraken.

Hey, Suckers! Over here!

What's that reflection in the deep?

It took Moonsong several seconds before she quickly swam back up to the surface, manifesting a megaphone and shouted to the Imperial Petunia with a bass-boosted voice.

IT'S A FUCKING KRAKEN!!!

But maybe she can use the sea monster to her advantage. Creating a trail of arcane fishes towards the competitor ship, she plans to lure the tentacles into targeting it.

Brutus blinked as the tentacle rose out of the water. On instinct he reached for his canon in his Ui and found it missing. Where was it? Probably tucked into the bed he'd made for it as a gag back home.

"Shit."

The giant spat and found his back up problem solvers, knuckledusters. He would keep his eyes on the prize and focus on stealing fish. Giving a pirate a mighty right hook, he would send the man on his ass with a bloody nose.

He would snatch the fish the man had dropped with a smirk, ready to turn tail and grab Toko and her plunder and head back before he saw a tentacle snatch at him. "Guh." The wind was knocked straight out of his lungs as he found himself in a perilous and tentacly situation.

If he had a dollar every time he'd been groped by tentacles, he'd have two dollars, which wasn't a alot, but weird that it happened twice.

" @Toko !" He would call out. "Tasukete!"

Celestine hated fishing. And so… she didn’t! But where there were people, there was showing off to be done, and so she was hard at work doing what mattered most: bedazzling herself to the crowds of people who were minding their own business.

"Which of these are you doing more of the liking? The Nebula Sparkle one-piece, or the Nova Bikini?" she asked, showing off two separate outfits that literally gave off so much illusory light they forced onlookers to squint at them.

It was then that she heard the shout from a familiar voice! Glancing down the side into the water, she saw @Moonsong trying to lure the legendary mammoth squid to the pirate ship. More tentacles… Cel shivered, frowning for the first time in a while. It reminded her of… eugh… that event.

But her friend had the right idea! Lure it away to the pirate ship! "Hold on! I will do you an assist!" Cel called down, waving her hands through the air and weaving illusions over Moonsong’s little arcana fishies. They suddenly took on a more realistic presence, lifelike scales shimmering in the aquatic light as they schooled together at the base of the pirate ship.

Tenshi had been stuffing her face with the sushi provided by @Hanasakura Okami as well as many other seaside delicacies and drinks as she filled the bars once slowly drained thanks to her Cold Metabolism.

Had been, but now was the time to join the festivities and work it all off. "@Sai come on! We might be able to win some limited time outfits or something!" She didn't really listen to what had been promised as a result of the contest, but she saw a kraken and people bravely jumping into the fray.

Her arms transformed into lean and toned-muscled tiger arms, and she used them to throw herself from the railing of the Petunia to the raiders' side. It was either plunder some fishies or show up a kraken, and she was in no hurry to mess with sea monsters. Hopefully, they weren't in a hurry to mess with her either.

Sai might’ve preferred to continue honing his chillax energy with a fishing rod. He was really starting to get in the mood! Granted, the chaotic shuffling of dozens of people wasn’t making that super easy. Nevertheless, it was also burning hot, and, when Tenshi ran off after the raiders, the temptation to dive in was too great! The cool water felt aboslutely heavenly, but…

After seeing the massive squid, he regretted it immediately. Even so, seeing @Tenshi cut through the water so boldly, he was energized to follow. Sai gulped, sucked in his reservations, and swam after her…

She noticed the tentacles while attempting to catch fish on the deck of the raiders, the Lepus pausing before leaning over the railing to look down and ensure she wasn't just seeing things. "Uwaaah, Kuraaken-sama...!" She could see the reflection of the eyes under the waves, her tail quivering in excitement as an idea quickly popped into the rabbit's mind.

"Ooooooiiiiii, Kuraaken-saaamaaah~!" A devious smirk crossed the hare's lips as she called out to the giant sea creature. "Forget about the scraps in the sea, these guys have the best treats around these parts of the sea!"

By now she had somewhat figured to which side of the raider ship their fish holding chambers were, Toko kneeling to press her hands onto the wood that made the floorboards before concentrating her magic. Her eyes closed, a frown on her face, as the hare strained to pool as much of her power as possible... causing a faint golden aura to momentarily flicker on and off around the Lepus as her Nature magic extended towards the cargo hold.

Finally she found it, the feeling of a plank just barely out of place to one side of the wall... unnoticeable and technically unimportant under normal circumstances, but giving Toko the advantage she required for her plan. She grunted, straining further, before the cracking sound of splintering wood suddenly echoed from a side of the ship, enough of the wood forced to bend and reshape and exposing a faint crack towards the fish storage room.

A few fish were already slipping through, plopping into the ocean, just as Toko leaned over the railing once more to gaze at the fruits of her hard work.

"Dinner is served, Kuraaken-sama~!"

It was then she head the cry of Brutus, the Lepus turning before she noticed the Felis being swept up by a giant tentacle. "Brutus, really?!" Honestly she was surprised the lion hadn't opted to make life worse for the raiders over gathering some fish on the deck, the Lepus cracking her knuckles before she dove towards the Kraken's limb currently holding onto the giant to try and release him.

"Oh, sooorry Stephiiieee...!!!"

She barely caught the far away figure of the redhead (@Raid Boss) get bopped by one of the fish that Lúthien had sent flying to the ship, grimacing in response before the loud sound of splintering wood caused the elf to jump in surprise. "What the fuck...?!" It was then the blonde rushed over to the side of the raider's ship and leaned over the railing, seeing a few fish trickle out from a crack in the hull of the ship, before a lightbulb went off in the ranger's head.

"Oh where is it, where is it—aha!!!"

Finally she spotted the helm of the ship, currently being manned by one of the raiders, before the elf made a beeline for the poop deck. Quietly she creeped up using the stairs, an arrow knocked into her bow, before Lúthien concentrated aeromancy energy into the tip before sending it flying.

CRACKABOOM!

The sudden lightning flash released as the arrow impacted onto the leg of the raider, causing them to scream in pain as they released the helm of the ship to grasp at their wound. She had purposely aimed for the man's good leg, watching as he wobbled in response to the pegleg slipping against the wooden floorboards, before the ranger rushed over excitedly.

"Out of the way ugly, it's our ship now~!"

A gust of aeromancy was all it took to fully screw the man's balance, watching as he stumbled and rolled off the poop deck through the stairs, before the elf grasped the unmanned helm. Did she know how to steer a ship? Of course not! What the blonde did know was that she wasn't about to let that stop her from executing her plot—and with this ship currently bleeding a trail of fresh fish Lúthien knew exactly where she was going to aim it next...

"If anyone has Aeromancy we could use a boost to the sails!!!"

Her voice rung loudly as the blonde gave the steering wheel a good and hearty spin, beginning to angle the ship in the direction their pirate competitors had decided to head into as they tried to avoid the Sea Raiders.

High octane music plays as a large tentacle.. limb... Kraken appendage breaks the water. While Okami was not clear on the squid anatomy, she was however versed in her squid culinary. Such a large squid would be enough of it to feed everyone on the ship twice over. Greed flashed in her emotionless artificial eyes.

As the large tentacle begun its descent onto the boat, Okami would dash quickly towards it, as the music reaches a climax when Okami blocks the tentacle arm thing with her blade. She could feel its weight and struggled, gritting her teeth as she pushed the tentacle off, only for it to bring it back down harder.

Okami wants her calamari and she'll get it.

In a rush of magia adernaline, she pulls the limb right off, dragging the soon to be food right out the water and throws it into the air. Following after it, she lands onto and runs across, readying her blade as she jumps and screams aloud.

"SHINING BLUE: EMERALD LINE!" And brings her blade clean through, the twained tentacle arm framing the bikini cladded bladeswoman between their gored bits. As the three landed, she turns unsightly squid into uniform rectangular slices, and plates them. More squid for the crew on board to indulge in and not in an anime manner.

Yeah? Well, fuck your rod, @Chrys. Ayna could care less about anything else, now that a full-blown sea monster had reared its ugly head. Catching a glimpse of @Moonsong's arcane fishes, she tried to amp the ante by sending a surge of lightning underneath them, making them light up. Krakens dig lights.

The mage looks up in awe at the Kraken. She whistles and grabs another candy from her bag.

"thats the biggest squid I've ever seen! Its so cool!"

Ariweyn looks around for the nearest tanky person to offer a candy to. However the sugar star she is holding fizzles out, turning to powdered sugar with a pink hue.

"
Oh no!"

the humidity of the area has dissolved the sugar stars she had made for everyone. It may not have been a good idea to bring delicate sugar treats on a boat in what is effectively the in game version of the Galapagos.

Once the bag was empty of candy, the mage snarls a bit. A curious, faint constellation appears in the shape of a fish. Ariweyn will turn to the person nearest to her, eyes incredibly unfocused as she channels the power of the cosmos. Its not too much power though, shes not that strong.

"the Stars of Aquarius, the Waterbearer, have appeared. Go and strike hard"

the next person will feel a cool to their tired muscles, refreshing and bolstering them.

With his trunks hooked once again, Hanno was too busy with the whole chaos to realize what was happening when @Cynna was mercilessly reeling it, causing him to stumble and fall face first on the wood flooring. "W-Wait, hey HEY!" He widened his eyes, struggling to be released while he was being dragged and taking a firm grip of the flooring, until--

RRRRRRRRRRRIP

"..." The sea wind never felt so cold for Hanno, that soon found himself with his butt free for everyone to see, with things only not getting weider thanks to a conveniently placed basseal that kept jumping in front of Hanno.

"GHAAAAAAST!" Hanno yelled for his shield, that so far has been hanging on the back. The shield opened her eyes, blinking and looking at Hanno's predicament before quickly hopping toward him.

Without wasting a second, the shield wrapped its tentacles around Hanno to cover him, allowing the faerin to stand and finally recover after so long not being able to act, widening his eyes when finding out that-- Everything was turning very, very badly!

Seeing @Ariweyn Laundale approaching and offering a candy, not even that Hanno could take advantage of, with the candy simply fading away and making his lips purse, but wait-!

"Ari! It is you, buddy!" He exclaimed, happy that he was actually covered now. "Lissen, those Sea Riders are bad news, this Kraken, EVEN worse. So I think we need to get two bad news to clash against each other!" Hanno said.

"Can I count on your power again?" He asked, before preparing himself and jumping off the boat, swimming as fast as he could toward the Sea Riders, trying to dodge the giant squid before finally climbing on the Sea Riders boat and turning toward the tentacles coming out of the water.

For a second, Steph was beginning to sweat real hard when her allies started to lure the Kraken toward their true competitor, the Pirates. In this way, they weren't completely going against the spirit of the competition, which would have broken her little heart. But at the same time, it doesn't exactly get them any closer to winning the overarching competition.

In any case, Steph was--BONK!!!

OOF!

She was bonked by a fish that came down at her with unbelievable velocity.

When she got up, she cast a horrified expression over at @Luthien, w-what does that elf have against her?! Will Steph, too, end up like the Basseal she clubbed? Is Luthien the Conqueror gunning for her? Fright set in, Steph was in made-up danger!

She shook her head. As the captain of her ship, this was the time for her to steph up and be a leader.

Everyone! I know I was the one who got us into this mess by stealing from the Sea Raider, but please!

Even if we go nuclear and direct the Kraken's attention to the Sea Raider, we shouldn't let them die at the many hands of the Kraken! They may be the scum of the earth, but even they deserve mercy!

If you can, join me in rescuing them afterward and throw them into jail!

Her whole plan honestly worked better than she originally expected. The ship was boarded, and some rare fish were stolen, now secured in a small make-shift bag Fina had put together from her cloak, now wrapped over one of her shoulders. Things outside were still developing in a rather bizarre way, though. As she was climbing down the side of the raider ship, the first thing her enhanced beastfolk eyes saw was @Hanno Futaba flashing everyone with his bare bottom, temporarily blinding the cat and causing her to slip.

A mere moment later, she was back underwater, and by the time she managed to mentally recover from that experience, the new threat had become clear to her. With plenty of other people already around and trying to lore the beast in a certain direction, she figured she might as well join them all, though only after she had made a bit of a detour to the ship with @Crimson Ruby, tossing her the fish. "Stash those away for me, okay? I will try to help lead that… octopus-thingy away!"
