Well, this was certainly different. Fina was just on the beach because she wanted to spend more time in the water since she had finally managed to learn how to swim. Yet, she somehow found herself on a ship that was about to go into war with pirates! Well, a war in terms of fishing.

How that all went down didn't quite matter. What mattered was that she was now here and actually wanted to participate since fishing was yet another thing she had never got to do. Taking one of the provided apparatuses, it took her a good while to figure out what exactly she was doing. Long enough that some others were already hauling one fish after another.

Oh well, this was not exactly a competition for her. She just wanted to have a good time and cast the line, wondering how long it would take her for a first catch, if she would even manage that.

Chrys beamed at the sight of @Samantha Yurei looking very gorgeous in her swimwear but his mood was immediately brought down by @Ayna Nietzsche remarks, which he definitely deserved. With a defeated sigh, he focused all his attention on catching that new catch of the day. Basseal, wasn't it? He wondered if that also meant that a trebleseal existed. Sounds like trouble, though.

"Careful with this one, girls. If I remember correctly, this tender fish can be very aggressive. We tried to add it to our menu but our suppliers were scared to take them on. Perhaps we just need new suppliers."

Chrys started to go on a tangent that was as boring as an old man's story. Not even worth typing here.

Another event, and another method the gamer figured he could access himself exclusive loot and content that might help his journey in the future. The scenario was set for a relaxing, and entertaining tangent to the grinding he had been doing prior, but it didn't quite pan out that way.

You'd figure a magia would be resistant to the affliction of heat, but Tyr realized that with the onyx-colored alloy that made up his frame only seemed to absorb the head and put him in an escapable body of misery. Shortly after, he resigned to being the one of the only figures out there hiding himself in too much fabric.

"Whatever" was all he could think of while his arm split apart and reformed into a harpoon launcher that trailed the shadows in the water. Look, aim, shoot, and bullseye.

And that makes two!"

The tigress would smile as she lowered the glimmering fish into her personal bucket. She was pleased with her current results, as she had managed to keep herself close to her competitors @Ronja Bubblyfoot and @Jester , but the supply of the golden fish seemed to dry up, which bummed the beastkin. It seemed like Jester managed to ran away with the first round.


Taking one of the drinks from @Cidney Cometfall , she would let out a satisfied sigh as her ears dropped to her sides, her tail wagging from side to side. "Aaaah, this sure hits the spot~ Hmm?"

Her ears would perk up at @Luthien 's remark, rushing to the deck to check it out. "Whoa... That's kinda freaky." She'd comment, before turning to face Ronja and Jester with a nod and a challenging smirk.

"Hope you two have some spare elbow grease, otherwise these bad boys will drag you for a swim!" With a playful taunt, Harper would throw her handheld fishing line into the sea, hoping to put her skills where her mouth was.

Really? Guess I'm more popular than I thought. Nice to meet you, Ayna!

After introducing herself to @Ayna Nietzsche, she went back to check her catch. The volley of harpoon did not score any golden fish this time. Perhaps she killed them underwater, along with anyone diving in the sea. Switching to a gentler approach for a different fish, Moonsong now conjured five fishing rods suspended in the air, with lines thrown as far as they could go. Back to chilling, she conversed with @Chrys, whose attempt to maintain eye contact with her occasionally failed.

I know these eyes are not pretty to look at, but still, my eyes are up here, mister. Yeah, I don't like that pattern, take it off.

It took a few seconds before she regretted that opinion.

Wait. On second thought, don't.

Still in her dive, Ruby used her dynamism to keep up with the moving boat, trying to snatch the basseals with her own hands, having her mouth mostly occupied with the big golden fish she was holding with her fangs.

Her eyes then focused on another basseal, chasing it intently until it was abruptly pulled out to surface.

Blinking, Ruby swimmed up to the surface as well, poking her head out to see @Fina Drago with the basseal that was fished.

The line tensed up almost immediately, causing the Lepus to almost lose the fishing rod as Toko barely responded in time to tighten her grip on the base before her quarry pulled it away. "Eeeh?! Another one, already?" Considering how slow fishing was meant to be the hare had not expected a back-to-back catching fest, watching as the pole of the fishing rod continued to bend… and fearing it might snap before the rabbit had hauled her catch aboard.

"Yattah! That makes three catches for me so far!"

It was then the Felis mentioned the white haired player in the water was the @Haru he had mentioned to Toko before, a look of realization dawning on the hare before she looked overboard at the man once more.

"Oooiiiiii, Haru-saaan!!!" An arm waves along with her words as the Lepus tried to catch the man’s attention. "You might want to come aboard, there’s Basseal in these waters!"

[Hyakin Heliodoros]

"It's cute! Whoa!" Hyakin got the fish, but caught by surprise by how cute it was, because it had a seal's adorable face, he gave the fish the chance. And the fish, sensing the weakness of its predator snapped to action. Its tail was used as sword, slashing at the thing that held it, the line and the rod itself.

The fish was powerful, its tail sliced neatly through the equipment. Without further ado, the fish flexed its tail and its dark eyes looked almost smug at the muscular man, before it went back to the sea.

"…Smart." He nodded, moving to get new fishing equipment. "But, I will not give up!"

"FISHING!"With that yell he dove down, holding a harpoon instead of the fishing rod; though Piercing Weapons would work best, his current skills let him use the spear as if it was an extension of his body and he hunted!

[Ilusa Nakhalee]

Ilusa hauled the fish, pulling it towards a place where some people put the fishes, some place which would make sure that it would not escape. There was a somewhat big bucket with a metal covering over it, so Ilusa put the fish there. The fish stared at her with soulful, sorrowful eyes; but the fish met a person with hardened heart, the cute look did not work.

She also resolutely ignored how the horror-redhead almost pulled someone's trunks off.

For moment she stared at people who literally dove into the water to get the fishes, before shaking her head.

No, she would not be part of that madness, fishing from the deck worked just fine and perfect for her.

The felis tail flickered leisurely behind her and she went back, this time looking at the baits and choosing one that looked somewhat round.

This done, she cast the line again, looking around to see the successes and failures of others.

The girl who is tied to the ship continues to try to grab basseal by hand. was it a bad Idea? It likely was. However that did not deter the aspiring hero, there was an old lady who needed these seals clubbed. Furthermore, there were pirates who needed defeating!

Why was the Petunia rocking more all of a sudden?

Ah, new fish, fish that like to slap ships around. Thankfully there was no way this would calculate into damage Nin surmised...

As the hat passed about it would finally be kicked into the air and on the wind would fly... directly into Nin's outstretched arms. Now positively giddy she smashed it over her head and wobbled back to her seat.

No one had noticed the hat flying off.
No one noticed or cared about her ears.
Hmmm, she was relieved if not for the dangerous venture she had to undergo.

These people really were a wild bunch. Nin was interested in continuing her time with them. Just not naked and on a ship surrounded by fish! Taking a look at the collected fish so far, her face showed some slight irritation. Was her Fixer even doing this right? Not that she had ever fished before, or much else in the way of physical activity for that matter.

The sage glanced up at the concern directed towards him, breaking from his attempt to sleep away the awkward moment of showing up in front of people who did not want to see him. He appreciated the effort, though he wasn't one to worry about such a thing.

The seals were giving Haru a rather wide berth. They didn't want to try and swim across the glare they felt from the darkness below the waters, after all. Though they could likely not see the source, the glare was felt all the same.

"Ha, ha, ha... I think I'll be just fine down here, don't you worry."

Her line had actually snapped, whatever Basseal or creature on the other side providing to be too much of a strain for it, and the blonde frowned slightly in response… but the good company around the elf kept Lúthien from dwelling on her failure for too long, working instead to fix her line as Ronja and Harper reeled in their catches.

"Right, if at first you don’t succeed then simply try again…!"

With that her line was casted once more, aware that a few other Travelers had managed to net catches from this rather large school of Basseal in the time that Lúthien had taken to repair her line… hopefully there were still enough Basseal left for the elf to catch one, even if it was the smallest one around.

What had started as simply passing around drinks to the partygoers would soon change into the drive to do more work. Once she started, it was hard to stop, and now she was helping the crew of the ship man the boat against the tide of furious Basseal.

What had Cidney come here to do again..? Relax, right? No, she had just been invited here to come along-she herself was the one who had decided to treat it like a vacation at first. Here she yet was, once again lost in thought as the kept the sails sturdy.

She wondered where the others were off to now. @Jester and @Luthien would surely be noticeable were they in here line of view, as they'd each put on what was probably the flashiest outfits that they had on them at the time. Hell, she had made those outfits for them as a test run. @Ronja Bubblyfoot , too, had disappeared from her sight.

It was a bit lonely to man the supports.

"Oh, we're moving on now...?"

Overhearing the next target, she waved down The Steph (@Raid Boss) with a grimace as she was hurrying by. "Erm... so... we don't have to club them ourselves after we catch them, right? Like, you have people for that~?" Cynna asked, pointing at a Basseal being hauled on to the deck.

Waiting for a response, she cast her rod. She'd gotten cocky after her first catch as a sudden breeze caught her line and sent her hat flying out of her reach. Reaching for it, she stumbled, kicking her precious cooler into the ocean.

"Noooooo..."

Cynna looked down sadly. She still had her Mandarin Agüita (the superior flavor) ; so, she waved at @Cidney Cometfall and asked her if she happened to have any rum on hand.

With a deep sigh, Cynna now realized what The Old Man and The Sea was really about. She got it now. That entire book made sense. What she hadn't realized is that she had been the second person to hook @Hanno Futaba 's trunks that day.

Sighing, Cynna began to reel.

Brutus watched idly as Toko's line popped off again and again, eyeing his own line as if it were cursed.

"Good work Hun." His hand would ruffle her hair affectionately. "Now share some of your luck my way."

He would watch Haru float in the water for a bit, confident the sage could handle himself for the moment.

Jester took a moment to bask in her victory by giving the others a head start and gave Cidney a swing by. She brushed her soaked hair out of her face, though it was difficult to fully brush back on account of the visor on her head. "Not a bad vacation, right? I think I could do this all night!" Once again she had let go of her fishing rod, which got a yank and tried to fly off the ship. This time though, Jester was a bit more prepared. She sprinted and dove halfway off the side of the ship as she held onto it.

... And then got pulled over the side anyways. SPLASH! Once again, Jester was over the side of the ship, but this time seemed far more intent on getting out as seal-faced sharks began to swarm her. At least at first. Actually, this was probably the most fun part of the whole vacation. Like a 'fall into the water' blind bag opening, just this time with sharks.

Are these even fish...?

The basseal being pulled onto the deck were bizarre chimeras that were way too strong for their own good. He considered his rod, a cheap one meant for more ordinary fish, and wondered if it would even hold against one of those monsters.

Much to Fina's surprise, there was a force that pulled on the string - a catch! A good thing that the girl invested so much in her physical stats, it ended up relatively easy to pull the… fish(?) out of the water and right onto the boat. And along with the aquatic animal, something else emerged from the water as well! (@Crimson Ruby)

"Ruby?!" Immediately forgetting about fishing of any kind, the feline simply flashed a bright smile as she leaned against the railing, looking down on her partially submerged friend. "So you're taking part in this as well. Lovely swimsuit~!" She tried to tease the crimson-haired cat, though she, of course, meant the praise whole-heartedly. And by the looks of it, she was also doing rather well as far as getting some catches went.

It gave Fina the idea of perhaps using her own masteries to get more of these seal thingies, though there was a good question of whether her arcanamancy would actually work. Only one way to find out - forming small floating spears that would start darting around the water's surface.

@Crimson Ruby thought she had pulled an ordinary Basseal out of the water but ended up pulling a super friendly one, which with a single thwap of its tail, threw her onto the bottom deck where it and a few of its buddies jumped out of the water and onto the ship.

UNGH UNGH UNGH UNGH!!!

The Basseals cried as they clapped their fins, salivating at some of the Meliodashis that had been caught. Some also rolled around on the deck, wriggling their plump body looking for good scritches.
