The forests of Eastern Brisshal, for most of part, were tranquil and had the lively ambience that welcomed newbies. But despite its way to be, it wasn't uncommon for danger to lurk around those that dared to step deeper into it. The core of the forest was the home of natural beasts that were essential for the health of the forest, but still posed a threat to unaware adventurers...

... And such was the case of a duo that has just been cornered.

"Grmph!"

A large man grunted, swinging his axe with all his might and barely missing a couple wolves that dodged the attack swiftly, just in time.

"I can't hold them forever—"

He hissed, opening his arm to shield the little cat girl that was behind him.

"I-I am trying! Just a little longer!"

Her voice hinted irritation as she felt hurried, muttering the eerie magical words, making the tip of her red hair sway like flames, forming two fire orbs before she thrusted her hand forward, shooting them toward the wolves that had just dodged. The first orb missed, clashing against a bush and making it erupt in fire and scorching the nearby grass, while the second landed on the neck of a wolf, making it yelp as it rolled on the ground while a severe gash opened on it.

The man didn't waste a second, following up with a swing that cleaved the other wolf in half, gritting his teeth in effort to remove the axe from the dead creature and turn to face the other wolves that were approaching, just waiting for the right time to attack.

"Can you do it aga— ARGH?!"

"AAAH!"

Unexpectedly, a much larger wolf, bearing a pitch black fur engaged into the fight, sinking its fangs against the man's shoulder and managing to lift him with raw strength, swinging him and throwing him toward the cat girl, knocking the two adventurers away against a tree.

The girl coughed the air out of her lungs while the man couldn't even stand, with his shoulder bleeding gravely. The large wolf growled, rumbling while it approached with a glowy scarlet gaze.

"A-Aah... Aaaah! H-HEEEELP!"

Mustering some air, the girl spent all of it in a desperate call for an intervention, moments before the large wolf pounced, aiming its fangs toward the weakened duo...

A woman with black and red hair heard the cry for help. Heard the desperate plea. She jumped from the underbrush, into danger. While she still didn't understand how this game worked, she knew that she had to help people even if they weren't truly real at this point. It didn't bloody matter! Death may be a thing that can be brushed off but gods above, if just being injured hurt as much as it had already, then dying might just be worse!

She leapt in front of the charging wolf, holding her arms up to catch the bite on her arm. "Alright! C'mon beasty! I'll be your food, damnit! Unless you don't like the taste of whatever the fuck I am!" She shouts as she raises her foot up to kick it in the chest. Of course, it likely won't do much given that it's just her foot and no power beyond the simple kick. God, this hurts wayyyy too much.

"W-Woah!"

The little girl's eyes widened at @Rhela Elahka's heroic display, and the wolves, caught off guard had a sudden shift of behavior, taking their distance and changing positions while the Larger Wolf had its charge halted by the surprise attack.

Watching the newcomer, the enormous beast growled lowly, baring its fangs before sharply changing its attention, opening its mouth widely and aiming to catch Rhela's offered arm.

Whether it would catch it in time or not, a second newcomer suddenly appeared—

"Hey! Pick on someone your own size!" He yelled, piercing through the bushes and leaping toward the Large Wolf, throwing his gigantic Shield, that wielded tentacles and bore a large eye in her center, with all his might against the beast's neck.

The Large Wolf tilted slightly upon the hit, but similarly to Rhela's attack, it didn't seem to budge too much.

Instead, it reacted immediately, rotating its body and slamming against Hanno, throwing the Faerin knight away and against the ground.

Rhela's ears perked as she heard the rustling of another savior. This one farbetter equipped to handle this than her cat ass that just spawned in not moments ago. Her tail twitched as she looks to the girl. "Get you and your friend out of here, before that thing decides to attack the current weakest link of the group."

"I can defend from the smaller ones, probably, but the big one is gonna be a problem..." Rhela mutters.

Before goes to jump up and kick at the larger wold for a moment. Best to distract it until the more equipped one could take a better stand. Possibly with a weapon made for stabbing instead of a tentacle shi- wait what? Tentacle shield? Her brain processed that a bit late but she looks to the faerin for but a moment before back to the wold.

"Come on! Or are you scared to bite me!"

At @Rhela Elahka's words, the warrior struggled, trying to stand.

"I— Can keep— Going!"

His party partner interrupted immediately.

"N-No! No you cannot!"

She hissed with a cracked voice, forcing his arm over her shoulders and trying to drag with with as much strength as she could.

Hanno frowned at the sight of the duo as he got back to his feet, could a mage carry such a bulk warrior far enough? Well, they just needed to protect them, worst case scenario. And the heroic cat girl did seem ready to take a bite for the duo. "I'm gonna hold the big one back so you can handle the smaller ones, when you are done we can get done with this big guy!" He decided.

The wolves had their attention on Rhela, but the large wolf was soon targetted by Hanno's Shield bash. The tentacles of the shield wrapped around its neck, and the wolf growled, trying to shake the knight off, but Hanno held on tightly, despite being swan back and forth by the angry lupine.

The smaller ones, however, remained focused on Rhela, growling and feeling confident by their number advantage, two charged forward, trying to apply pressure— Meanwhile, the third one tried to sneak from the bushes, waiting for an opening to pounce.

Rhela glances back at the two that began to run. Of course, it was then that the two smaller wolves charged at her as she was distracted. Her eyes turned to quickly kick one away from her as the other tackled her to the ground. Causing them both to roll off and away from the fight. This is accompanied by a hiss from the cat girl, unable to stay upright as she rolled. She eventually got her footing and kicked the wolf off of her while she lay on the ground— only for the one in the bushes to take it's place, it having a much more solid stance and grip.

This can only make Rhela growl in response. She needed a weapon... What was her spell list like again? She quickly tried to think— Only to realize she didn't have one! She grit her teeth... Lunging forward and biting the neck of the wolf that was going for her own neck! Her fangs digging in past the fur as best she can. Almost no one expects a bite in combat, except maybe wild animals, like this wolf. Which instead of taking the bite fully, it quickly moved back out of range of Rhela. Growling...

"Come on, then, you flea infested mutts!" Rhela, on her knees shouted to the trio. A few new cuts on her body. Being level one sucked ass.

Hanno grunted upon being swung against a tree, going back first on it— The tree shook and leaves fell along with the impact, but despite the hit, Hanno held on tight though he knew he couldn't rely on simply holding his shield for much longer. He needed to react, otherwise, the large wolf would win the battle of attriction and @Rhela Elahka would be at severe disadvantage.

With feet not reaching the ground, Hanno loosened his hold, allowing him to hang on the grip of the shield while the large wolf continued to try and press Hanno against the tree with his own shield.

Clenching his foot against the tree, Hanno back kicked it to propel his legs and waist forward, giving him the boost he needed to strike his knee right on the neck of the beast.

The hit wasn't enough to harm the wolf's throat, but it was enough to discourage it from continuing its aggressive engage and back off for a couple seconds to recover and continue its attempt to shake the endritch shield off its face.

"Huff—!" Hanno took a moment to recover himself, and watching the thrashing wolf, he waited for the right moment to leap and grip onto the fur, forcing himself up on its back and bringing an annoyed growl out of the wolf, that only enraged further...

Meanwhile, the wolves didn't budge to Rhela's shouts, aiming for an immediate attack, the three of them at the same time.

Her gaze didn't falter much. But she did roll away, giving her crouching position, she just kinda rolled under the first wolf to the best of her ability as it lunged. The second one was able to get her though as she popped back up, biting her arm and getting a nice solid grip. It'd taste her blood. It knew it hurt her. She winced as she tried to punch it away. Even as the final wolf seemed to take advantage of this and bite her leg, trying to pull it out from under her as she fought. Disadvanted and without a weapon. She grit her teeth, watching her HP bar dwindle in size. Not good. She punched the one on her arm repeatedly, trying to get it to let go as it thrashed. Nearly falling over in the process.

She didn't think she'd be in this much danger the moment she spawned in! Curse her inability to let people be on their own! Her eyes glance to @Hanno Futaba for a moment. Lucky... He had that cool shield, even if it was tentacles, it was still helping him a ton! And her a ton even if she couldn't do much in regards to her own situation. It at least meant the bigger wolf wasn't on her ass too!

Seeing the situation go direr for @Rhela Elahka, Hanno couldn't help but only keep focusing on the larger wolf. However, it would be tough to handle the smaller ones while the larger one was in a complete outrage.

Throwing a few knees on the large wolf's side, Hanno tried to somewhat adjust the position of the wolf, aiming for the direction of the cat lady and the three wolves. "Hey! Watch out!" He roared, reaching for the eyelids of the wolf and gripping them tightly before pulling it up, disrupting its vision and making it go completely wild, shaking its head and charging forward while yelping, trampling over the other wolves and causing mayhem to the flow of the combat.

Hanno leaped out of the wolf, falling and rolling away closer to the cat, in a very-not-dexterious-landing with his face.

"Ouch— H-Hey! Are you alright?!" He tried to quickly recover, while the Shield was left behind, still holding onto the large wolf that continued to thrash around, while the smaller wolves tried to recover from the impact.

Rhela saw the larger wolf coming her way and was quick to move- well as much as she could while being bitten by two wolves. She smiles a bit as the larger wolf trampled over the ones who were harming her.

"Yea, I'm fine! You?" She was talking fast while she backed up a few steps, holding her shoulder as she tried to adjust it and get rid of the pain. "That's gonna hurt for a bit, I think, but regardless, you're shield?" Rhela points towards the larger wolf... Prolly wasn't a good thing it was left there, but it certainly made that less of a threat as long as they stayed away.

She takes a quick stock of the situation, making sure the ones they had been protecting were out of harm's way. It might be best to flee- but to leave behind gear... She'd hate to make someone potentially give that up.

Hanno grimaced seeing @Rhela Elahka's wound, getting used and adjusting to his own pain and wounds. "I am good, thanks..." His eyes shifted quickly to the shield. "She will buy us time, quick!" Hanno nudged, urging Rhela to dart off. He couldn't risk lingering the fight more and let the wolves kill the Felis girl during their fight. She needed a bit more equipment to deal with that kind of trouble.

Meanwhile, the three trampled wolves started to recovery, one of them was severely wounded, but its resolve to hunt the prey was unshaken. Really, there was something off about those wolves.

The shield continued to entangle her tentacles tightly around the large wolf's head, and as it went for a tree to slam the shield against it, the shield quickly untangled herself from it, letting the large wolf slam its head against the tree, becoming momentarily stunned while the shield used her tentacles to start rolling at the direction of the faerin, that had already started to run.

Rhela blinks a couple times as she was nudged... But nods and began to run. The beginner gear just wasn't good enough for this. And she didn't want to die within minutes of spawning in! That'd be bad. Her head turned to look behind her as she ran along a path in the woods, not knowing where it leads. Rhela could ask about things but she figured it would be best to wait till a later time when they aren't being chased by a pack of wolves.

She glances up. "Can you climb?" She asks rather suddenly.

Hanno continued to run his way forward, huffing and puffing as he tried to keep up a pace while the shield caught them up, wrapping her tentacles over Hanno's face to hop back on his back.

"G-Ghast I can't see— GAAH!" Hanno went forehead first on a low branch, making him see stars and half-stumble for a moment before blinking and peering back at @Rhela Elahka, still running, even if a bit clumsy now. "Well, kinda, why?" He narrowed his eyes, wondering what the cat lady was up to.

Meanwhile, the wolves growled and roared, closing the gap between them and the adventurers rather quickly.

Rhela grins. "Well if we climb, they might not be able too, especially if we can climb quickly out of their reach," Rhela states as she began looking for an easy way up for the both of them. Though it prolly won't help if the bigger wolf knocks the tree over or something. Of course, she kept running. She was curious about that shield but she will definitely ask about it later. Now was far more important.

"But I also don't know the capabilities of the wolves here!" She ducks under a branch, grabbing it and pulling it along to bend it back. Before suddenly letting go. It'd rebound back and maybe, hopefully hit a wolf in the face.

The wolf yelped when struck by the branch @Rhela Elahka bent, but this didn't discourage the other wolves to continue their hunt. Hanno frowned. "Climbing sounds like the right idea then..." Hanno huffed. He wasn't the type to get tired quickly, but he was bound to be outrun by the wolves if he kept running with his heavy armor and shield.

A 'quick to climb' tree was soon spotted, and Hanno rushed ahead for it, jumping to embrace the trunk and start to try to climb as quickly as possible. The 'as quick as possible' being quite slow for a heavy armored man, that soon had his butt met by the many fangs of a wolf that jumped to try to bite him before he climbed out of reach. "OUCH! HEY, NOT COOL!" He complained, back kicking the wolf until it finally let him go so he could finish his climb, sitting on a thick branch and resting his head against the tree, panting.

"... Damn, these wolves are way too aggressive... They should've give up chasing us after one of them fell and..." He said, quietening himself. Now that he stopped to think about it, those wolves were acting a bit weird. After a moment of pondering, he frantically looked around to make sure Rhela was on a safe spot.
