♬ Like a shooting star
And you're falling from me
And as you fade away
My heart skips a beat!! ♬

The shooting star of a newbie in TerraSphere shot out in the sky over Falderen! Bright and shining like a diamond, the shooting star was shot out into the open world. A small ball of burning heat racing and landing smack dab in the newbie area. In a blinding, explosive light, Olivia opened her eyes up to the first few sensations coming over her. She was new to full dive systems, she wasn't one for technology so much these days, and the last video game she ever played was pong. A very old and ancient but simple and fun back and forth paddle game.

Blinking several times and taking a steady breath, the new player's red eyes were greeted by a gentle breeze and a dense collective forested area. She took a look down at her feet, finding that her starting garb was spot on for the most part, like she was dumped from the Wild West with a dash of modern ingenuity. The only thing missing was a hat from the blinding sun. She was going to have to remedy that later. For now...she had no idea what to do or what she was doing.

Wiggling her fingers, she found the sensation to be pretty spot on from the real world. Breathing felt normal, she wasn't hyperventilating or having a panic attack, which was a pretty good start to things. She began to feel her body, pressing her fingers into the fabric of the material of her light armor, and the soft squishy parts of her body and then finally her hip.

"WELL! Everything seems to be in working condition!? I think... Alright, so... What to do? If I was Violet...what would I be doing in a massive online rpg thing? Menu! Options! There's gotta be something like that around this graphic thing. How do you access it, though!?"

Billie swung her right hand left and right trying to activate her menu, then she did the same thing and flailed her arm up and down, only to feel slightly winded from the action. She grew angry at herself for not being able to do a simple thing. So...she had to figure this shit out by either asking for help, or watching someone make the motions. And that's exactly what she did. She had walked away from the area and was looking at a few kids with their palms open and staring at nothing. Peculiar.

With a small bite to her lower lip, Billie made the motion with her palm, and Voilà! That shit actually worked! Alright! Progress was being made, and she went through her settings, modifying sliders and noted the helpful tips and tricks from the player base. Well, things looked promising. Why was TS so secretive? It didn't seem like a dangerous place.

Piercing red eyes and a long stark hair matched perfectly with an even complexion and bright red cherry lips. Olivia looked nothing like this in the real world, and it was fun as hell to create an avatar that kinda matched something from the old west with a splash of her teenage years. A little edgy, but a little oldie as well.

With a sharp grin and a rather large, hulking rifle slung over her shoulder, she set out and went to go look for some fun! And perhaps find out why this game was such an underground subject.

One of the 'kids' in the area was a smallish Magia named Kakao. His blond hair was tickling his face as a breeze blew past him. His 'starter gear' as he called it, simple clothing that covered him nicely, was already pretty worn down, covered in grass stains from spending far too much time in the spawn area of forested goodness.

As he was wandering around, he noticed an interesting looking woman. She was much taller, with striking features, light long hair, and pretty red eyes. Curiosity got the best of him as he saw her struggling and then succeeding to use the palm menu. Or at least, that's what he assumed was going on by the looks of it.

"Hi there!" He chimed, waving to the stranger with a broad smile as she looked to be moving on from where she was. "Are you new too? It's pretty amazing, right?"

He opened and closed his fist carefully, feeling the texture of his skin rubbing against itself. "It's weird. I chose an artificial body, but it feels so... Normal. I don't get why this game is so unknown- it seems great so far."

Realizing he was talking too fast, he slowed down and laughed nervously. "Sorry, I just love games. It looks like you're getting used to things though, right? Do you need any help? I'm still new myself, but... I can tell you anything I know!"

Bright red eyes shot back to the chimed voice, her red lips into a big red smile and her brilliant white teeth showed as she made her way to the... individual? Kid? Child? Little Person! He looked adorable for a young boy, maybe in his early to mid-teens, very bland though. Like someone who could easily get lost in a sea of people. There wasn't too much standing out against them besides some very big and beautiful chestnut colored eyes.

A raspy, aged voice shot back to him with a wave of a gloved black hand as she halted maybe a foot and half away from the lithe boy. Still smiling, she placed both hands on her hips and leaned forward a little.

"Heya there Buckaroo!! Yes, I would have to say I am quite new to the game. Just came out like pixie dust from the shooting star intro. That was a pretty wild ride!" She leaned back up into a relaxed stance and straightened her back as he was talking, and talking...and talking. She found it adorable, like listening to Violet when she had an interest subject to talk about. BUT... she wasn't in the real world right now, and her attention span was getting stretched thin.

"Yeah!" She blurted out, but not -really- paying attention to everything he said. Her lack of attention bore her bright red eyes back on him again, and she shook her head, sweeping a long tendril of white hair behind her right ear and gesturing two finger guns back at him.

"Well! I kinda nabbed the email from my daughter's computer. Because I needed to make sure she wasn't doing some weird online prostitution thing or something. Not that I don't trust her! Just making sure the game is safe. RIGHT! You are probably way too young to need to know about any of that stuff."

Billie gave a casual smile and reached with her right hand to grab the player's in a hard, -HARD- handshake.

"So then! The name's Billie The Kidd... Don't be fooled by the name, I am a LOT older in real life. BUT...ugh, yeah. I haven't played games before. This is my first full dive experience- and WHY do I have the feeling I need to pee all of a sudden? Is that a thing!? I was hoping I didn't have to mirror any real world activities-really hope having a period isn't a real thing here either..."
Billie seemed to be talking more to herself than the other player, giving his hand a nice hard shake before placing both hands back on her hips and chewing her bottom lip.

"SO! What...do people do here?"

Kakao smiled brightly as the woman told him about her daughter. So this woman was a mother? As a father in real life, he could totally understand her worries about that email! He was glad his daughter was too young to play many games online yet. But she was getting older by the minute... Kids were scary that way. To fight that, he'd chosen to become essentially an android. But that was his little secret.

"I can understand you wanting to protect your daughter, trust me. As for having to pee... I guess we should find a good spot for you to relieve yourself? Unfortunately, we still have to eat, drink and sleep in this world- or so I read." He stopped talking, realizing he was rambling. The woman had even offered her name, and Kakao just blazed on through it! How rude of him!

Laughing nervously, he accepted the handshake, wincing slightly. His body was artificial, but it still hurt.

"I'm Kakao. It's nice to meet you, Billie!" He retrieved his hand as quickly as possible, massaging it with the other to ease any pain residually left there from the shake. "I think there's a lot we can do. There's monsters and bandits in these woods. There's foragable items. We can fight, we can explore- we can do anything we want, as far as I know! But first, let's get your bladder empty. We'll decide on something fun after that! Okay?"

A single gesture of her hand made of a pointed finger and the cock of a gun 'fired' at Kakao as they took the time to introduce one another. Billie had quite the firm handshake, which the boy had figured out the hard way, but it came with the territory of a mother showing she had strength enough to protect her children. A small gesture like that speaks volumes.

As Kakao listed off the different things one had to do to upkeep the body in this VR World, Billie's tight and bright smile dampened a little. There goes the idea of not having to bother to shave and take showers here in this world. Apparently it mirrors real life almost too exactly. She would have to deep dive into that in the online manual to get a better understanding of what needs to be up kept during the game time world.

"Alright, Cake-O! Sounds like a solid plan!" Fingers were already working at the belt of her pants and buttons, loosening the article as she walked behind a tree and squatted. She made sure there were no other players around, of course, and then when her muscles relaxed, she just went-right there, in the middle of a forest. Just like a camping trip with no running water! At least there weren't any bears roaming around quite yet.

As she whizzed, she searched around for something to clean herself with and just kinda opted for air drying herself before pulling her pants back up and shooting a look from behind the tree back at Cake-O.

"Don't suppose you carry any toilets on your character? If not, we can find a river or something when we get to it." As she adjusted herself, she came back into view of her new friend and placed her hands on her hips again, overlooking the forested region.

"I don't suppose you could show me the ropes on how combat works? I have a long ranged rifle, a shotgun, a few pistols out of the gate as far as weaponry goes. AND..."
She shot Cake-O a wild and toothy grin, her eyes beaming with those alarmingly bright red piercing orbs.

"...a lasso rope! Not sure what THAT could be used for, but I think I have some not so kid friendly ideas for it!" Her raspy voice broke out into a wild and roaring laugh before she settled down into a calm chuckle.

"Since you are the 'aged' veteran to games, I'll let you pick out a simple target. I think there is an assist auto command that does the motions of the skills for ya...BUT- I don't think that will be very comfortable for me. I kept everything on manual for now."

Opening her palm UI and equipping herself with the standard long ranged rifle, the heavy gun mounted over her shoulder as she stood there like a Wild West Sheriff ready to blast some old-timey bank robbers!

Cake-O? Who is that? Kakao thought, but opted not to ask. He was the only one talking to the woman, after all- so clearly, she was just getting his name wrong. In a way, it was kind of cute sounding. So, he decided to just accept it.

And then, she asked him if he carried a toilet around in his inventory. It took all his willpower not to laugh at the very thought. "Sorry, I don't... But I do know where a river is. I found one a little while ago." He smiled brightly, feeling like he'd done something good by wandering aimlessly after his initial encounters around the timme he spawned.

"You got weapons to start with?" He puffed his cheeks slightly. "I don't have any weapons... Actually, I seem to have spawned with only the clothes on my back." Nervously laughing, he began to wonder how the world was so unfair in that way. Then he remembered his Mastery choices. "I wonder if it's because I chose Illusion and Shadow Arts...?"

WHen she mentioned not kid-friendly ideas for the lasso, he laughed hard. He could already guess some adult things she could be thinking of. He was, after all, an adult in a kid's body. Still, he turned a bit pink in the cheeks imagining it at all. Kakao was a gentleman, and thinking about any woman besides his wife was impossible... Mostly.

"I don't seem to see any monsters nearby us here. There's probably some beasts or bandits further into the woods though. I'm only really good at making illusions so far, but I can use them to slow down enemies for you!" He gave a big grin with his hands on his hips, as if he was overly proud of what he was offering. "Shall we start looking for our prey?"

She snorted with a laugh, "Yeah, I got the basic equipment here as well. I am no video game expert, so I can't honestly tell you what's what. Maybe you got some kinda Harry Potter wand on you or some other magical trinket thing to help with your illusions and shadow stuff?" She gave her shoulders a small shrug. She wasn't a video game expert, and she had no idea if the masteries she chose were good ones or not for what she planned on doing with them in the future. If anything else, she could find a way to re-roll or something.

She ran her fingers across the base of her chin, stroking it gently as she was setting some kind of scheme into action. Bright red eyes gleamed around the forest, and her equally bright cherry red lips churned into a knowing smirk. She snapped her fingers and got a neat little idea.

"Bait and Blow! You bait'em, and I'll blow'em the fuck-up! Or something along those lines. You can make little shadow illusions to catch something off guard, and then I'll lock and load and go guns a'blazing! Right now, we need to find something small, so we can do some testing."

Swishing her finger along the UI surface of her inventory, she equipped the massive long range rifle she spawned with and began to set up shop right where she was standing. Clearing a small area away of foliage, she used a free hand to raise a small amount of land using her geomancy. She made a small platform to rest her rifle and sat down on her knees against the soil, and then looked through the scope.

"Alright. This looks good here. How about you send off a few shadow bunnies or illusions and catch the attention of something and see where that leads us? Maybe I can snipe something down and get some points?"
