Sex: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual
Relationship: Single

Height: 5'6"
Build: Slender

Personality

Xu Huifang prioritizes efficiency over emotions. This, despite the fact that she can be very kind and respectful. Whenever anyone points that out, though, Huifang will always be quick to sweep that fact under the rug, always wanting and needing to focus on less emotional matters like the task at hand. She can be very insightful and skillful, both owing to her years of hard work and study. Huifang wasn't raised to be nice or make friends. She was raised to be the best at what she needed to do in order to help her family, especially her parents, in the future.

Still, Huifang isn't perfect. She keeps her own secrets, not wanting to burden anyone else. Or let them use those against her. When offended, she can be quite extreme, becoming destructive and treacherous to the point of even endangering herself. Huifang, with her lack of emotional connection, tends to be resentful whenever things don't go according to her plan, blaming everyone including herself, especially herself.

Positive: Efficient, Insightful, Skillful
Negative: Destructive, Resentful, Secretive

Background

When Xu Huifang was born, her parents immediately fawned over her. It was not because she was their firstborn. She was their second. It was not because she was a girl. Boys were more valued by her parents because of their line of work, manufacturing. it was mostly because she had a beauty mark under her left eye and a shaman told them it meant good luck. Huifang didn't believe in those things herself, but over time, as she grew older, her parents' beliefs were proven somewhat accurate.

Although Huifang had two brothers, one older and another younger, she became the breadwinner of their family. Her older brother had pursued the arts, something her parents never forgave him for, while her younger brother ended up a gamer, something her parents were disappointed in. Huifang was the only one who showed great skill and understanding in the field of engineering, something her parents believed would give them a lot of blessings. Once more, her parents' beliefs were proven somewhat accurate.

Huifang's no-nonsense work ethic brought their family financial success, even if she had to leave their home in Singapore for Japan. She found no other joy but to pour herself into all that work, rising up the ranks in her company rather quickly, sacrificing everything else including her old life and the nationality she was born with. Although her family was only too happy to have her as a cash cow, Huifang soon realized that it was true what they say: It is very lonely at the top.

It wasn't until a curious Saturday morning during a rare vacation back home, when Huifang decided to clean up her missing younger brother's room, that she was introduced to the augmented reality game known as Terrasphere. Indulging her curiosity for the first time in years, she logged into the game and soon found herself in a world unlike any other.

Build

Ayna Nietzsche's build focuses on dealing as much damage as she possibly can in a matter of minutes, making her a glass cannon DPS. She likes to zip around the battlefield with Shadow Arts and Dynamism, taking out as many foes as she can, stabbing and electrocuting those that oppose her with Pierce Weapons and Aeromancy before they can attack. Once they do, however, Ayna doesn't have that many options for defense, and even though her Magitech allows for healing, she usually just uses that to further buff her damage output. Her philosophy has always been "Take them out first before they take you out."

Spear of Stormy Night

Polearm

Also known as Calamity's Light in Lyrwick, the Spear of Stormy Night (Polearm), or simply just the Stormy Night, is Ayna's preferred weapon. It gets its name from the way the strange blade is believed by all to herald a stormy night regardless of season.
Storm-Torched Orb

Focus

This once hand-held focus known as the Storm-Torched Orb (Focus) is now embedded in the Spear of Stormy Night (Polearm). Whenever Ayna channels her lightning magic, the orb glows yellow, cyan, or purple.
Scales of Reckless Storm

Medium Armor

The Scales of Reckless Storm (Medium Armor), also known as the Reckless Scales of the Storm Shogun, is a medium armor that consists of a coat and leggings, and a separate skirt, of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal.
Traits

Artificial Body. Ayna cannot taste foods or beverages but is still required to consume these to replenish her food and water meters. These meters take far less nourishment to replenish. She also does not replenish her rest meter while sleeping. Instead, she remains inactive near a source of magical energy for 3d4 (7) hours. If her rest meter reaches 0%, she will shut down until it recharges to 10% at a much slower rate.

Homebound (Construction). Ayna improves her mastery over this skill (construction) faster than others. However, she sometimes feels a pang of unease when traversing the wilds or exploring the ruins of past civilizations.

Ayna actually started a small fishing boat construction business near the coast of Lyrwick as a way for her to acclimate her engineering skills to the game's own rules. After constructing her own fishing boat, the Mizar, she relocated to Dunnstads.

Descriptions & Shortcuts

Seven Saints' Spearmanship

[Attack] (Base) (Offense) (Attack) Ayna performs a basic attack. She performs spear strikes and thrusts, sometimes charged with lightning, other times from places you don't really expect. Alternatively, she has her drones join in on the fun. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Magitech]
Code:

Liberation

[Recover] (Base) (Action) Ayna recovers her HP, doubling her roll result on a nat-20, by taking a breather, patching up a wound, drinking a potion, calming down, etcetera. Whatever it takes to liberate herself from a lack of much-needed health, which happens a lot more than she should already expect.
Code:

Fast Run

[Rush] (Base) (Bonus) Ayna doubles her total movement count this cycle by focusing on maximizing her speed. But why, though, when she can just zoom with her lightning? Sometimes, you just feel the need for non-magical speed.
Code:
Excellence: Wicked Light

[Sharp Attack] (Offense) (Attack) Ayna performs a refined attack. This strike doubles MR and increases WR by 50%.

Unveiling a shard of her Storm's Eye, she plainly thrusts at an opponent's foot or at the ground underneath their very feet as a feint before slashing upward to force them back before quickly charging her polearm with lightning and immediately thrusting at her opponent's chest, neck, or even face. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Dynamism]
Code:

True Teachings of Enlightningment: Appearance of Calamity

[Multi Attack] (Offense) (Attack) (Special) Ayna performs a maneuver that strikes twice. Each strike applies MR and WR at full value and increases other bonuses by an extra 50%. However, she gains the Vulnerable State.

Unveiling a greater shard of her Storm's Eye, she performs a twin-attack combo with her lightning-charged polearm that makes use of all of the strategic advantages it can muster to deal the most damage possible. Basically, she lunges at an enemy and immediately thrusts her lightning-charged polearm at them before spinning quickly as she moves forward while slashing at the air with the blade as wide as she can to discourage the enemy from getting too close, then pushing herself in the air with a single small step, and thrusting downward at the same enemy as if her lightning-charged polearm was lightning itself. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Dynamism]
Code:

Heavenly Repentance

[Duelist] (Bonus) Ayna deals more damage up close, allowing for extra damage if she attacks an enemy in melee (while on their square, or an adjacent square if they are oversized). She loves to be in the thick of the battle, especially if she can go up close and personal with her target. Sometimes, she utilizes a sword made of pure lightning instead of her lightning-charged polearm to stab at her enemy at close range. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Dynamism]
Code:

Pouring Thunder

[Overload] (Bonus) Ayna overloads her abilities and shuts down briefly afterward, or stands in place to overcharge her abilities, allowing her attacks and buff to gain a specific bonus and her heals to gain a different specific bonus. She, however, cannot move this cycle. If a battle map is not used, she rolls ALL her saves with Disadvantage in the next damage phase.

Ayna channels all of the lightning coursing through her veins to surge forth and punish her enemy with exploding might. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Dynamism]
Code:

Sky Wandering

[Stable Attack] (Offense) (Attack) Ayna performs a rudimentary and reliable attack. Each 19 and 20 rolled grants another d20 roll as an Explosion. She performs a rudimentary tactical strike with consistent and predictable damage, stabbing the enemy with lightning at precise points in their body. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:

True Teachings of Enlightningment: Anticipated Reform

[Burst Attack] (Offense) (Attack) (Special) Ayna performs a risky explosive attack, rolling 10d20 and adding a d20 for each mastery and weapon rank (max 20d20), but gains the Vulnerable State.

Becoming one with the lightning coursing through her veins, Ayna unleashes a destructive combo chain at her own expense, piercing and shocking all those that oppose her. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:

Abyssal Traversal

[Sneak Attack] (Offense) (Attack) Ayna performs a sneak attack, which gains 40 extra damage if successful and only 20 if unsuccessful.

After discreetly charging her polearm with lightning coursing through her veins, Ayna immediately thrusts it at her target's feet, into the ground, without any warning, attempting to electrocute them before they can defend themselves, and then launches herself back and away from their range.

Alternatively, Ayna thrusts at the opponent's foot or on the ground under their feet with her lightning-charged polearm before slashing upwards to force them to take a few steps back before immediately thrusting at their chest, shoulder, or even face. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:

True Teachings of Enlightningment: Waning Starlight

[Critical Attack] (Offense) (Attack) (Special) Ayna performs a risky attack with advantage and an expanded critical range, which triples her damage if successful, but gains the Vulnerable State.

Becoming one with the lightning coursing through her veins, Ayna charges toward the enemy with a direct thrust to their weak point. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:

Submission of Light

[Wild Attack] (Offense) (Attack) Ayna makes a bombastically unrefined attack, which counts only weapon ranks.

Ayna exhausts all saved lightning energy, releasing the same without precision around her as a surge. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:

True Teachings of Enlightningment: Inner Demon

[Reckless Attack] (Offense) (Attack) (Special) Ayna performs a high-risk chaotically turbulent attack. When she rolls a (100) or (100, 1), she multiplies her damage by 2. When she rolls a nat-200 (100,100), she multiplies the final roll result by 7. She gains the Vulnerable State.

Becoming one with the lightning coursing through her veins, Ayna casts down a lightning bolt that strikes the area where she stands before four more consecutive lightning strikes rain down, spreading out from the point of impact of the first strike. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:
Ghost Scourge of Evil Destruction

[Speed] (Passive) Ayna is incredibly fast, gaining increased movement and reflex. Total effects gained at S-rank: +3 movements and +10 reflex. Channeling the lightning within her, she vastly improves her raw speed and enhances her movement abilities, including her agility and reflexes. [Dynamism]
Code:

Silent Revelation of the Dark Knight

[Rover] (Passive) (Bonus) Ayna moves efficiently and all damage resulting from moving is halved. When activated as a Bonus Action, she splits her movements, allowing her to move → act → move.

Channeling the lightning within her, Ayna manifests twin wings of twilight that allow her to effortlessly move around the battlefield. [Dynamism]
Code:

Shifting Light

[Momentum] (Passive) (Free) Ayna's attack damage is amplified by momentum, gaining +1 movement. As a Free Action, she gains 5 extra damage per movement she has this cycle (used or unused), maximum: +75.

Channeling the lightning within her, Ayna augments her attacks with dynamic electricity that surges forward with her. [Dynamism]
Code:
Drone Command: Imperial Rite

[Buff] (Support) (Action) Ayna gives herself and her allies a damage buff. The buff persists so long as the target has available charges and does not attack. Each attack action uses one charge. If her target has posted before she buffs them, their full charges will carry over to the next cycle. If there are multiple buff statuses, the targets may only be affected by one at a time. The most recent buff will overwrite the others. Single-target buffs give one target a damage buff that lasts 3 posts, whereas AoE buffs give three targets a damage buff that lasts for 1 post.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to empower her target(s), setting them up to do more damage and guiding their strike. [Magitech]
Code:

Drone Command: Settled Flattery

[Power Buff] (Support) (Action) (Special) Ayna gives herself and her allies a powerful damage buff but gains the Vulnerable State.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to massively empower her target(s), setting them up to do more damage and guiding their strike. [Magitech]
Code:

Protocol: Soul's Calmness

[Versatile] (Free) (Bonus) Ayna is versatile. When Ayna uses AoE Heal/Power Heal or Buff/Power Buff, she may: As a Free Action, apply the effects to 2 targets (instead of 3) and apply the last heal/buff amount to one of those targets; OR As a Bonus Action, roll both actions (both must be special or non-special) using the AoE command and choose if each target gets either the heal or buff. If she has a bonus from Inspire or Coordinate, she applies it to both actions.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to maintain tactics when performing support protocols. [Magitech]
Code:

Protocol: Residual Induction

[Boost] (Bonus) Ayna grants others a small movement boost. If she targets an ally with an action, she grants them 2 extra movements. This extra movement may not stack with other Boosts. If AoE was used, she picks 1 of the targeted allies.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to also boost her target's speed. [Magitech]
Code:

Drone Command: Consecration Ring

[Heal] (Action) (Support) Ayna heals herself or her allies. Single-target heals heal 1 target for the full amount while AoE heals heal 3 targets for 1/3 of the amount. Each nat-20 grants her another d20 as an Explosion.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to circle her target(s) and provide healing over the brief time they are active in order to keep said target(s) alive. [Magitech]
Code:

Drone Command: Severed Sorrow

[Power Heal] (Action) (Support) (Special) Ayna heals herself or her allies but gains the Vulnerable State. Single-target heals heal 1 target for the full amount while AoE heals heal 3 targets for 1/3 of the amount. Each nat-20 grants her another d20 as a Crit.

Ayna commands her powered-up magitech constructs to circle her target(s) and provide stronger healing over the brief time they are active in order to keep said target(s) alive. [Magitech]
Code:

Drone Command: Complex Percentage

[Inspire] (Action) (Support) Ayna inspires allies by giving 3 allies a 1d6 + (1d6 per MR) bonus to mastery or expertise check, contribution, save roll, buff, or heal. Inspire's damage buff does not stack with the Buff or Power Buff actions. Inspire lasts 1 cycle. If her target had posted before she inspired them, their inspiration will carry over to the next cycle.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to help others achieve specific tasks. [Magitech]
Code:

Drone Command: Gold in the Sands

[Haste] (Action) (Support) Ayna increases her and others' movements, rolling a 1d6+2 and distributing the movement between up to 3 targets. The bonus movement lasts 1 cycle. Haste may stack with boost and itself.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to speed up her allies, allowing them to move faster. This skill was actually inspired by how slow Chrys was in battle.
Code:

Protocol: Judgment of the Feathers

[Revive] (Bonus) Ayna revives a dead ally. When she targets a dead ally with heal, buff, haste, or inspire, she revives them at 50% HP and gives them that action's effect. If AoE was used, she picks 1 of the targeted allies. Ayna takes this action for free when she selects any [support] tag action. A note on narrative resurrection.

Ayna commands her magitech constructs to revive a fallen ally.
Code:
Dogma of the Dream

[Hinder] Ayna performs an attack that hinders and damages her target, dividing her attack by two to reduce both the target's HP and SP equally. Focusing on the lightning coursing through her veins, she manifests some of them into a sword of pure lightning, with which she cuts a target, body and soul. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:

Supreme Body: Reflection of the Shadow

[Ultra Hinder] (Special Attack) Ayna performs a risky ultra attack that greatly hinders and damages her target, dividing her attack by two to reduce both the target's HP and SP equally while she gains the Vulnerable state. Focusing on the lightning coursing through her veins, she manifests them all into a sword of pure lightning, with which she cuts a target, body and soul. Unfortunately, this takes a heavy toll on her as well, rendering her quite vulnerable. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts] [Momentum]
Code:
Stellar Return

[Haste] Ayna increases her and others' movements, distributing additional movement between up to 3 targets. The movement boost lasts 1 cycle. Ayna imbues herself and others with lightning to quicken, transforming into bursts of lightning when moving. Locked since Playtest Packet 2.
Code:
Brilliant Retribution

[Heavy Attack] Ayna performs a heavy attack that immobilizes her. She deals extra damage, but as a tradeoff, she cannot move this cycle but may be moved by others. After taking her time charging her polearm with lightning, she thrusts it toward her target, unleashing an unexpectedly powerful surge that electrocutes them. Locked since Playtest Packet 2. [Aeromancy] [Pierce] [Shadow Arts]
Code:
Shadowy Dodge

[Mobile] (Passive) Character dodges in unforeseen ways, with wisps of supernatural shadow around her. Character dodges in unforeseen ways, with wisps of supernatural shadow around her. Character dodges in unforeseen ways, with wisps of supernatural shadow around her. [Shadow Arts]

Spear of Stormy Night

Also known as Calamity's Light in Lyrwick, the Spear of Stormy Night (Polearm), or simply just the Stormy Night, is Ayna Nietzsche's preferred weapon, basically a polearm that seems to be a cross between a naginata and a guandao, though much slimmer and aerodynamic than both combined. It gets its name from the way the blade is believed to herald a stormy night. Through a combination of her Aeromancy and Shadow Arts, she can summon this weapon as a bolt of lightning from the sky and even disperse it in the same way.

Within the many folklore and myths of Lyrwick lies a few about the weapon known as Calamity's Light, a polearm believed to have been forged from pure lightning and wielded only by the most worthy of lancers. Its full name is The Cross-Shaped Calamity [Made of] Light or Cross-Shaped Calamity's Light, which means speaking its name requires more time than it takes to use it.

Storm-Torched Orb

This once hand-held focus known as the Storm-Torched Orb (Focus) is now embedded in the Spear of Stormy Night (Polearm). Whenever Ayna channels her lightning magic, the orb glows in a color randomly selected among purple, cyan, and yellow. There also seems to be something swirling inside it whenever Ayna channels her lightning magic, but only those with high Awareness + Aeromancy can see it, and Ayna has super low Awareness.

The once hailed Everlasting Eye of Moonglow Perception is now but an orb torched through and through, a testament to the sins of its previous wielders. It used to see all, but now it can only see destruction through the wrath of the skies.

Scales of Reckless Storm

The Scales of Reckless Storm (Medium Armor), also known as the Reckless Scales of the Storm Shogun, is a medium armor that consists of a coat and leggings, and a separate skirt, of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish or more precisely a dragon flying alligator. The suit includes gauntlets of the same make.

Did a fish wear this armor? Or was this armor meant for a fish-like warrior? Such are questions these scales often inspire. The answers, however, are less likely to come by.

Storm Blades

Ayna always has a bunch of Storm Blades (Projectiles) (Daggers), stylized kunai, on her when she gets some prep time, usually before she goes on quests and missions. She rarely uses these projectiles, however, because her aim is not that great and she has better options that serve the same purpose, but one can't be too prepared. Instead, she often attaches a rope on the pommel's ring so that the wrapped handle can function as a grip, or strapped to a stick as a makeshift spear; or tied to the body for concealment; or used as an anchor or piton, and sometimes used as the Chinese rope dart. She's better with them when she uses them as thrusting and stabbing implements.

Careful with that! You'll poke someone's eyes out! ...if you can hit them. Hehehe.

Storm Drones

Ayna's Storm Drones (Small Constructs) are automatic drone-like minions that attack enemies in defense of the Mizar, though she more commonly uses them to support allies remotely. Outside of personal use, they are also kept in the ship's hidden compartments on standby mode. In the megathread Displaced (Tertoria), Ayna wore two of them on her wrists as makeshift bracelets. Also in that same thread, Ayna gave them the command "Red Thread," which was a tracking command, with protocols "Everwarden" and "Titan" referring to Kamala and Chrys, respectively.

What are these things? They're not bugs, are they? Why would you make them like that? Ah! They're flying too close for comfort!

Tools of Stormy Night
These Tools of Stormy Night (Magitech Tools) include things such as wrenches, hammers, clamps, nail guns, etc. These are basic tools that can be used offensively. Ayna, however, only uses them to repair the Mizar and sometimes even herself. Rarely are they used for combat.

Finally, along-winded name for your Magitech tools! Took you long enough. Also, there's a leak that needs to get fixed. Good luck, kid.
XAZ6sbi.png
This primon has the body of a fish and shark-like fins but the head of a seal. They are highly prized and sought after because of their reputation as the wagyu of the sea.

When summoned, it will clap and perform all kinds of tricks for snacks.

"UNGH UNGH!!!"
Basseals are a rare type of fish with the body of a scaly fish with spikes throughout their body and shark-like fins but the head of a seal. They are highly prized and sought after for amazingly tender flesh, cooked or alive. Their size leans large, and they are known as the wagyu in the world of sea cuisine.

They reside in the deeper ocean and usually only travel in small packs. Despite their pack size, be warned that Basseals are muscle fish and can decapitate a person with their tail slap. They are known to wreck fishing boats to eat the crew onboard.

They may look cute, but they are highly aggressive; one best be careful around these bad boys. (Source: Mini Game - Blue Sky Bluer Water)

The Mizar

The Mizar is Ayna's moderately sized fishing boat that first appeared during the events of Fish Upon a Starcalled. Her then Lander first mate, John, who was later replaced by his sister Sally Hudson when he was drafted to the military, maintains the boat whenever she's too preoccupied with adventuring. It often sails in Ilmea's Lament off the coast of Lyrwick but has also found anchorage in one of Dunnstads' many seaboard towns & villages, specifically the Traveler fishing village of Amakane. It has the words "perpetua perennis impervia" carved on its bow. Most of the boat is made of fiberglass, though the highest point, the tallest mast, seems to be made of steel, which could be a possible source of electrical energy for Ayna during thunderstorms and further fuel to the rumors that the boat houses a Magia-recharging crystal. The appearance of Ayna's Storm Drones (Small Constructs) doesn't help.

The crew of the Mizar is mostly composed of Lander sailors that Ayna met throughout her adventures in Lyrwick and even Dunnstads. Her main crew includes Sally Hudson, who is her loyal first mate; Shirley, aka Salty Shirley, who is the most social of the crew and is therefore always bailing them out when it comes to misunderstandings with others; and "Gorgeous" Mickie, a somewhat religious aspiring writer who believes too much in greater powers and the like but also has training from a magical atelier that makes her invaluable to her Magia captain.

There's also Birdie, who has a ship of her own but usually teams up with Ayna and her crew when it comes to seasonal hauls, and Kara, Birdie's first mate who has a "friendly" rivalry with Shirley. Other seasonal/honorary members of the crew include Lenny, aka Lena, a magical atelier-trained associate of Mickie, whose cunning and flirtatious ways often get her in trouble; Forsythia, a good enough sail-hand who talks funny and is too into the gothic culture, which often gets her in trouble with others; and Ramon, who looks and acts like a homeless kid with a learning disability, so they don't often have him onboard since he tends to disappear and only shows up randomly. Recently, Ayna and the Mizar have crossed paths with the pirate hunter Cymry and the sea trader Dolly.

Rumblings of some changes or modifications to the ship for next year abound!

The Forgotten Tome
The book comes together beneath Ayna's hands - though the tools are mundane, the scattered reagents sparkle with magic. Though the labels are stained with small black handprints, you can still see the labels and figure out what they're for - this one to stabilize crumbling pages, that one to brighten fading ink.

You don't restore the book to perfection, but it's at least sturdy enough that you can safely pick it up. The pages of the book are clear, but impossible to read - the runic language within is like nothing you've seen, and almost seems to crawl as you look at it...

Ayna acquired the Forgotten Tome!
