Hanno wasn't usually the type to doubt others, but the way Caelia's affirmation escaped from her lips made him severely consider if they should continue. However, he wished to give her more room to try and practice, so he held back from doing anything but defending.

Spells blew up, and Hanno could feel the dark energy scorching him. Hell, that was exactly the opposite of what he carried in his body, and it was very clear that his magic repulsed it immensely.

He didn't care, however. All he cared was if Caelia would be fine through it.

"Still there?" Hanno asked, hoping to hear from her while his eyes started brimming with a silvery light as his spirit sight tried to survey her.

He wished to understand if inside of her was still untainted, or if it was being too overwhelming for her well-being. Or at least he hoped he could see it in her while he protected himself.

Caelia eventually abandoned the dagger, throwing it aside in frustration as she struggled with more melee based attacks. The dagger exploded into shards of dark energy that dissipated into the air. She backed up from Hanno, starting to lash out again with ranged spell attacks instead. She looked at him, at the silvery light spilling from his eyes...

Something in her recoiled from the silver light, but there was still enough of Caelia in there not to be completely repulsed by it.

I'm here, dammit. You're a lot tougher than you fucking look, Hanno.

Some of the blackness had eased from her hair and skin, but it still remained present for the time being.

When Caelia backed away, it honestly made it harder for Hanno to defend himself. Even if he knew how to defend himself from any sort of attack, on melee range he had plenty of advantage since his specialty was dealing with things with his fists and his shield.

His eyes peered at the dark dagger disappearing, and he looked up at Caelia once again, listening to her words and grinning while he kept receiving the spells blasts, some slipping through his defenses and making him wince.

"And you are much stronger than I thought, buddy." He said, noticing the blackness fading slightly.

"You are getting the hang of it!" Hanno said, now excited. He preferred the other faerin to be under the control of her powers. Even if bad emotions made her stronger, it wasn't something Hanno wanted to keep seeing it happening. Any emotion could be controlled, and if she could focus her wrath and frustration on her power rather than on herself, she would be able to use it without straining herself.

Caelia threw another ball of dark energy at Hanno with a grunt, listening as he spoke once more. She staggered a little as she took another step to circle around him, her breathing heavier now than it had been a few moments before. It seemed that the prolonged use of magic was starting to catch up to her physically, draining her of her energy. Her attacks weren't as aggressive any longer, lacking the oomph behind them that they'd had originally.

I could...do this all day... (pants) Well, maybe not all day...

She struggled to throw another blast of energy his way. Her energy was petering out slowly but surely.

The spells that were tough and hard to avoid were slowly becoming easier to be defended, with Hanno raising his shield to block the blast of energy that erupted from Caelia. A tired breath escaped from him, but he could still linger in that fight for much longer, though it seemed the other faerin was already tired. It was logical, however, since she was using so many spells at the same time on top of being rather new, so her Energy wasn't high enough to fight for too long yet.

"Heh... That's the spirit-" He grinned, letting out a sigh and raising his hand.

"I think we are good for now." Hanno suggested, wanting them to stop since it was clearly being too much right now, and he wished to know how Caelia was feeling.

It has been a tough practice, and probably it was time to rest. Unless, of course, the other didn't wish to stop.

Caelia lowered her hands when Hanno said that was good for now. She opened her UI to check her statuses, wincing as she saw just how low her Energy had gotten while they'd been sparring. No wonder she was winded! Now that the magic wasn't being manipulated, though, the blackness started to fade from her hair and skin. If she noticed, she didn't comment on it. She just smiled at Hanno tiredly.

That was...fun, wasn't it? Hopefully I didn't rough you up too much, or Ghast...

She seemed genuinely concerned with their well being, looking over both Hanno and his shield with a scrutinizing eye.

"And you really didn't hold back, I guess you aren't the type that holds their potential," Hanno said, looking at Caelia and smiling concerned himself, approaching her and giving her a look himself, with his eyes flickering with spirit magic one last time before fading completely.

"I am fine, I die hard." Hanno huffed proudly, tapping his chest confidently, and then glancing at his shield, surprised that Caelia was worried about it as well.

"Ghast is good too, she doesn't really take damage, right?" He asked to the shield, that rumbled in response and wiggled its tentacles. Hanno chuckled, turning his attention back to Caelia and returning the questions.

"And you? Are you good? Feeling anything weird?" Hanno wondered, offering help if the other faerin needed some support. He knew how exhausting it was when your energy was low, especially if she used the pain limiter, that artificially limited her body.

The small Faerin watched as Hanno approached and looked her over, letting him do so without complaint. She laughed a little as he said he died hard, smiling tiredly at him as he went on to reassure her that Ghast was alright too.

I feel tired, but that's it. I probably pushed a bit more than I should have. The dark magic really takes it out of you if you use it for prolonged periods of time like that... I'll be alright though, probably just need food and rest.

She stretched her arms above her head briefly, a yawn creeping up on her. As it passed, she shook her head slightly, blinking a few times. She really was getting tired.

Want to walk back to the nearest village with me? I can get an inn there and rest. Probably better if I don't go alone and fall asleep halfway there.

Hanno fluttered his wings, releasing some of his divine magic to soothingly lend some energy the other faerin, looking up at her with a faint smile and nodding. "You did push yourself a lot. If you want a recommendation, it is good to try and deactivate and activate your buffs and empowering abilities, so you can use them when they actually matter. This consumes less energy." He said, watching her getting rather tired after their whole practice, and fairly satisfied with her work on practicing.

"Well, I happen to know a good tavern for that. Both for food and for getting a bed." Hanno said, then smirking.

"As if I would let you go there alone like that. I will be escorting you, buddy." He chuckled, getting his shield ready for the travel and turning slightly toward the direction they would need to part soon.

"If you want, I can even give you a ride." He gestured to his back, being used to act like a pack mule for allies.

Caelia let out a light laugh when Hanno said he'd be escorting her. The laugh continued as he offered to give her a ride, and she smiled warmly at the other Faerin while shaking her head a bit.

I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll walk on my own two legs, at least. You can tell me more about how you got that dissonance essence while we walk, maybe? I'd love to hear some of your stories of what you've encountered in this world.

When he was ready, she started to walk in the direction he led, listening if he chose to tell her about any of his adventures from the past.

Hanno laughed along, glad that she took it with good humor, shrugging. "Too bad, people usually like my ride. I even have a sled with me." He nudged Ghast, then gesturing Caelia to follow him as he got everything ready to go.

He made sure to at least walk near enough to help her if needed, and to stay aware of the creatures that wandered around the forest, especially considering how dangerous it could be when you were at a low HP or Energy. Not that a wolf would manage to do any scratch on him nowadays, his newbie days are gone in the past.

"The dissonance essence? Man... That is a long story. But it all started when a giant and ancient abomination, enormous like a skyscraper--" Hanno proceeded to tell her about all his journey fighting Titanus along with hundreds of other players and landers, fiercely fighting it off until it was finally vanquished. He also told about his friends at the time and the many other adventurers that made a conversation linger for their whole walk until the nearest town...
