Kyra

Kyra waited on the side of the fence, her feet dangling beneath her as she waited patiently. Her recent messaging with Zelrius and Toko had suggested that they'd all meet on the outskirts of the trading town. Ghylios, the sign had said. Kyra had given it a quick glance before making her way along the path, hand tracing along the fenceline of what was likely one of the outer acreages of the town.

"Definitely not what I would describe as the bustling centre of society. Probably a sign of the barren wasteland we're headed into, though."

Her gaze roamed over the rocky terrain that laid ahead, while her thoughts had transitioned back to her path that had led here. She'd managed to skirt around the main town itself - avoiding the local population after having heard the rumours regarding their less than positive behaviours and attitudes. She'd decided that engagement with the area was likely less beneficial than avoiding them altogether.

She checked her watch again - the small time piece telling her nothing more than she already knew. The others still had time to arrive, Kyra having shown up far earlier than they'd agreed upon. She knew her impatience was unjustified, unfair. It's your own fault for rushing here. People have lives outside of the game, and some of them need a little bit longer to get here. So now, you get to sit and wait for the others to arrive.

She pulled out the small booklet again, a purple-leather wrapped notebook that she carried in the pouch on her back, just behind where the scythe hung on her left hip. Opening it, she flipped through the several pages of carefully written notes, finally landing on the drawing that she had begun working on. Her eyes moved across the lines, detailing the figure. The design was something she'd seen online once, a few minor adjustments completed to add her own flair. A piece that she was excited to try and actually bring to life.

"Assuming they get here any time soon..."

Redchron. Zelrius had heard of this place before, but never made the time to make it this far south. It was a plateau, red region, with towering rock spires and an endless amount of heat. His brow was wiped of the sweat that collected there by the back of a black and red gloved hand. The sun was high in the sky, and wasn't giving much in the way of relief from the beating rays that fell upon the area. No wonder he hadn't made his way down here. A message had stated that Toko would be too busy to accompany the other two today. Which meant that the adventurer had to find someone else to play damage for them, given his current lack of weaponry. Before leaving Finweald the last time, Zelrius had placed a request with the Explorer's League there for a guide through the lands and to take them to the Volcano. Specifically, to help them find a particular sort of metal that could withstand the heat of the pyromancer's fire and recklessness. Something that could stand up to corrosion, cinder, and a decent amount of hacking and slashing.

...If such a metal even really existed. The Explorer's league would hopefully send them someone who knew the answer. Even if they'd need to make an alloy out of several different metals and pieces. It wasn't hard to miss @Kyra Vashtana right past the sign with Ghylios scratched into the wood. Her unmistakable scythe, and purple motif accompanying the violet foxtail.

His shoes scraped against the rocky, dry ground as he approached, stopping just in front of her. The two being notably unmasked in a town that required it by law. Though the red-haired Zelrius was completely unaware of this rule, or the fact that the town itself was a den of thievery and crime.

"What are you working on there, Fox?" He asked trying to straighten his back so that he could peer past her down-facing head and see what was on the notebook. Small talk to pass the time while they awaited the arrival of their League Guide. @Luthien

"Red haired man... purple fox... red haired man...purple fo—ahaaah!"

A look of realization crossed the blonde's face as she noticed two figures standing close to one another, the long and vibrant red hair of the man having caught Lúthien's attention first before the elf spotted the rather diminutive—by beastfolk standards—purple fox besides him. There was an excited smile that crossed her face as a hand rose to brush some loose strands of golden hair, most of it having been pulled up into a messy ponytail, before she beelined for the pair.

"Alright, which one of you two is Cell-ree-ous?"

Honestly, a part of Lúthien knew she should've started checking the assignments her superior shoved ehr way before heading out of the League's HQ—she certainly hadn't been thrilled when finally realizing her wagon ride was taking her to hot and arid bumfuck nowhere... but that annoyance was momentarily forgotten as the excitement of finding the right people flooded the girl.

"You're the ones that submitted this request to the League, right?"

A parchment had been retrieved from a hidden pocket in her studded leather vest, a recent acquisition shortly after the blond had left Finweald again for this mission, before she flipped it open and presented it to both figures. It seemed that Lúthien had also missed the memo regarding masks in Ghylios... her face also completely uncovered as she approached the duo.

Kyra

She'd been so engrossed in her work that she hadn't heard the footsteps behind her, and as the voice spoke from just behind her, Kyra couldn't help but jump off the railing in surprise - a loud squeaking scream erupting from her at the same time. She spun as her feet touched the ground, the book slapping shut with a soft thud, and her tail standing on end.

"WHAT IN THE NINE HELLS ARE YOU...holy shit Zel...you scared the hells out of me. Don't do that."

She shook herself, trying to calm down as another approached them - this one easily heard by Kyra's ears now that she was attentive. The blonde Elf carried a hautiness about them, as if they were attempting to walk into a room and own the place.

Kyra pointed towards Zelrius as the other asked - entirely butchering the name of her companion; something that brought a large grin to Kyra's face.

"That would be him...and it's Zelrius. He gets pretty particular about the pronounciation. I'm Kyra, by the way. And you are...?"

She tried to keep her tone friendly, not wanting to sound judgemental or rude. She was curious as to who the other was, but also as to why they were here - and what was this about the request to the league? Kyra was a bit out of the loop, or so it felt. Turning to Zelrius, she decided to ask her question, dropping her voice to a whisper.

"Hey, uh, where's Toko? And what's this about some league request? Do you know this Elf? Is she a friend of yours? Is she more than a friend?"

She doubted the last part, the girl couldn't even get his name right. But she couldn't resist the chance to bug the redhead, even slightly.

He grinned, but backed up the moment Kyra started shouting at his appearance, from what Zel could tell, was very sudden to her. "Not my fault you couldn't hear me. I am not exactly stealthy." He noted to the flashy black and gold cloak and white vest underneath. Though, that brought up the point that this was a lot of clothing to be wearing in this place. Maybe some of the layers would need shed before they departed. He wanted to tease her more about it, but was immediately assaulted with a memory. A girl with blonde hair taking over his vision of Kyra, and his grin dropped.

Someone else approached, blues blinked in amazement. A Blonde elf - was the game fucking with him? This was more real than his other memories, though was she always so.. tan? The way she messed up the pronunciation brought the trance out, Zelrius suddenly realize that it wasn't a memory. It was a real person. A different person. Not an illusion. "Zelrius yea. Though, that's hardly the worst one I have heard. If I get called 'Zilherious' one more time, I think I am going to cry myself to sleep." He joked, though it was half-hearted, stilted. Flat. Still processing everything from before, at the cost of his usual sharpened tongue.

"Yea, I put in the request." He nodded solmenly, still trying to shake the mood and get back into this moment, rather than one that had long passed. "Toko said she couldn't make it. You have to remember that when it's midday for us here, it's midnight for her. She probably has other business to attend to in game." He started by answering Kyra's load of questions. It was grounding in a way. "I don't know this Elf in particular, but I didn't know the way of where we were going, or what we should know about the place. So I put in a request with the League before leaving Finweald to meet with you here." His eyes narrowed at his foxgirl friend. "And no, she is not even at acquaintance level. We'll see how this adventure goes for a promotion to friend."

He did echo the sentiment of wanting to know the sudden arrival's name, turning his head toward the town ahead. Already, a pair of men in head wrap-hoods and a thick cloth over each of their mouths had been watching them up the road. The redhead's gaze turned back with a shiver up his spine, using the Explorer to ignore the fact that they were a point of interest.

"Name's Lúthien, I'm a ranger from the League."

Her answer was short as the vixen spoke to her, an eyebrow arching at the curious look the beastfolk was giving her. She then turned to the man, while the fox asked about a Toko thing, and the ranger couldn't help but cock her head sideways in response.

"Wait, there's a third one coming too? That wasn't in the request, what the League received stated it was just two players—" There was an abrupt pause as the one named Kyra decide to imply something more, the blonde narrowing her eyes suspiciously at the vixen as she tried to figure out what kind of games the purple fox was trying to play at... before finally turning to look at the redhead who had presumably submitted the request. "Seriously? You didn't even brief your companion here about the submitted request for the League?"

At least the man had done an alright enough in his attempt to fill in whatever information gaps Kyra possessed, a heavy sigh leaving the blonde before she arched a questioning eyebrow to the man's last part of his message—though she made no comment of it. It was then she felt an uneasy feeling, it caused a shiver to run up the elf's spine before she cautiously took a side glance on their surroundings. A pair of hooded figures seemed to be watching the forming party intently, causing the woman to frown in response before she turned to the other two.

"Friends of either of you?" There was a discreet nod of her head given in their direction as Lúthien spoke, red eyes flitting from the redhead to the purple for and back. "'Cause they seem to be looking at us a bit too much for comfort."

She'd been chuckling as Zelrius began his response, but the sudden condescending tones that came out, both from Zelrius and the newcomer, were enough to cause the fox's ears to flatten atop her head. A sad, remorseful expression took over the smile as she wondered if she'd taken things a step too far.

But the expression quickly disappeared as the Elf mentioned friends. Kyra's eyes shifted, taking in the hooded figures as she felt her tail rise, the hairs standing on end. She felt a slight growl growing in her throat as she stared at the figures, trying to determine who they were, and wondering how long they had been there.

"Not anyone I'm familiar with...at least they don't smell like anyone I know...you know who they are, Zel?"

She didn't take her eyes off the figures, not willing to look away even for a moment. She didn't like this place, something about the entire area felt off. Although that could just be her reaction to the Elf's attitude, and being scolded by Zelrius.

"Should...we maybe move on? See if they follow us? I mean, I don't remember seeing them before you two got here, but...well, I wasn't really paying that much attention either..."

The chastising wasn't really what Zelrius needed after the newcomer had just introduced herself. Luthien, he couldn't help but hesitate to offer a hand in introduction. Something he'd normally do, avoiding it here to save himself any further discomfort. He was going to look over to Kyra, to scold her for making him look bad in front of someone new. Or, literally in front of the entire Explorer's league. Though, he was briefly distracted by the flattened ears and drooping tail. It never got old, seeing how expressive beastfolk were. Especially the lupine and canine variety. He was going to apologize, before Luthien's voice called for an interruption, his head turning sharply to follow her more subtle gesture to point them out.

Still being watched by those two. It annoyed him, made his blood boil. So the man turned, taking a forceful step forward to try and engage the two. "Hey, what-" the moment he even made a movement, those two had turned and were off. Disappeared into the rest of town. He could run and catch them, but suddenly, going off alone into town didn't feel like much of a good idea. He took a second catch a breath, and calm down a moment, echoing Kyra's first sentiment. "Right, let's get in here and get some supplies. Mostly just water, and something to munch on maybe. Do we have anyway of harvesting the ore we are looking for?" That last question, blue eyes went between the two of them to see if any ideas could be thought up of. All while rolling his hand to gesture those two to follow him, headed between the separated buildings.

What they found on the journey was even more similar looking people. Men and women, often slim with wide shoulders. Masked and hooded. Watching the trio intently. Averting gazes, whispering between each other. "Xenophobic?" Zel wondered, that tinge of sadness instantly plaguing him. The feeling of imposing on others, of being a total outsider never failed to make him feel like a total burden. The feeling only amplified when he was now mainly looking to Luthien for an answer to that question, and where in the hell they could buy some waterskins for the trip ahead. Maybe rest their feet for a moment too.

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she watched the way the ears flattened atop the fox's head, a hand raised to rub the back of her neck awkwardly... she hadn't meant for the words to come out as sharp as they had, but the elf also hadn't been in the best of moods since entering this accursed hot region. However any words the blonde might have been debating on uttering were soon forgotten when Kyra's tail puff out in response to the unknown figures, if the Caenis' nose didn't recognize either on them that probably meant they weren't acquaintances—and given their attire Lúthien doubted they were of the friendly variety.

"Yeah maybe we should get going—"

... or not. A surprised look caused her eyebrows to raise in response, watching as the redhead began taking heavy steps in the direction of their possible stalkers. "Oh wow, look at them go...!"

For a moment she thought the human would go in pursuit of the pair, before the redhead actually seemed to reconsider the idea as he turned back to the waiting pair. "She's right, best to just get on with our stuff and keep an eye out..." Besides something about this town gave Luthien the heebie-jeebies, the elfunable to shake off the feeling as she remained cautious and guarded.

"I would assume a pickaxe would do the trick...? Unless one of you has a useful mastery for unearthing ore."

She couldn't help but feel there was something important that she was forgetting as the trio walked through the town, but the matter wasn't pondered further as the elf reminded herself that she had a job to do. "Let's see, supplies... supplies..." She pulled out a folded piece of parchemnt, seemingly going down a few hurriedly penned notes, before her crimson eyes looked around the area.

Again she noticed the people, masked and hooded, as they continued to stare intently in their direction—causing a shiver to run up Lúthien's spine before she tried to shake off the feeling. "Not sure, but we should probably get out of here soon as we're done." There was a tightness in her chest that the elf was doing her best to ignore, the tension faintly visibly on her shoulders, before a hand pointed towards one of the nearby buildings.

"We can probably get most of the things we need over by that place, or at least that's the one my mentor suggested."

Hopefully he hadn't been lying to her.

Kyra's eyes narrowed as the duo suddenly shifted off and left the area, heading back towards the town itself. She wasn't sure what to make of that, but it definitely didn't feel right to Kyra. Something about the way they'd been studying the group, before suddenly simply...leaving. It wasn't normal. Even for this world, even for everything that she had encountered. It simply didn't fit properly.

"Yeah...something's definitely..."

She didn't get to finish her commentary before the other two were on the move, making their way towards the town. Kyra took a single moment to consider if that was their best possible idea, before deciding it didn't matter. Zelrius and this new girl - their guide, supposedly - were headed that way, and she wasn't about to be left behind.

"A pickaxe does sound useful...I'm relatively useless when it comes to environmental things...kinda focused on the whole 'helping other people' bit...I don't think the scythe will really help much, either..."

She patted the scythe on her side as she mentioned it, the chain jingling ever so slightly as it swayed. She doubted it would be very much use, even if she reinforced the blade with her hemomancy.

Her eyes gazed over those they passed, noticing the almost threatening looks that they were receiving. Atop her head, her ears twitched, taking in the many sounds but finding nothing consequential in the few conversations she could hear. Still, something felt wrong to her.

"Yeah that area should work..."

She spoke with an almost distracted voice as she continued to eye the few passerbys in the area, trying to determine exactly what was off about it all. The way they walked, the way that they seemed to gaze at the trio who moved through the crowd of masked individuals, they way they...

"Why are they all wearing masks and face coverings?"

The question blurted out of Kyra's mouth before she had even thought about it. They were all wearing face coverings...all of them.

"A pickaxe, right." His voice echoed, the two of them were right about that, at least. A sigh of relief as Luthien pointed out the place in question, a small stand specifically marked with a little crayon-like drawing of a Volcano. That would be easy enough. One look at the girls and a shrug, as he strode up to the stand, to take a look at whatever it was he was offering. From a distance, it was easy to make out the shoe-claws, rope, and burn-soothing creams. Maybe they would also have a pickaxe, since it likely wouldn't be unusual for those who go to there to be doing so for the resources it offered in some way. Or to dig into the side and find something deeper within.

His approach was immediately met with an issue. The man in the wrapped cloth immediately averted his eyes. The only part of his actual face that peaked out from underneath the grey and black fabric. Then he turned his whole body and face away. Refusing to make eye contact with Zelrius's existence. That fact was not lost on the man, blue eyes following it. "Yo, uh, can I just get a pickaxe? Or like, a hammer?" The man turned away further, even when the redhead tried to round him, to intercept his gaze. "What the fuck, man?" The already dry, hot air would simmer around the man, his brows furrowing.

They played this game for about a minute, as Zelrius tried to walk sideways around the man working the stand like a crab, walking sideways. The way one would when trying to playfully corner their cat. But, he was anything but playful. His breathing was getting heavier, the oxygen around his form beginning to wave back and forth with the heat emanating from his angering body. He didn't care to wipe away the mounting sweat. The growing frustration was more like a buzz that clouded his mind now, not really able to hear Kyra's question and observation of their attire.

Others watched from afar, gathering in a wide, open circle. Almost as if hiding, and whispering to each other, staring at the three outsiders. Murmurring to each other from under their coverings, and averting the looks and gazes. All of it just made the pyromancer more angry.

She had stood back, accompanied by the purple-haired beastfolk, as Zelrius had moved to gather equipment for their little excursion. After all this was their trip, she was only here to serve as a guide a poor one, but one nonetheless so Lúthien wasn’t keen on meddling in their affairs more than necessary. "Shouldn’t you be with him looking at the stuff…?" Her eyes had turned to look at the vixen then, before watching as the fox seemed busier inspecting everyone around them visually with a serious frown to her face—whatever Kyra was thinking surely had her deep in thought if her face was anything to judge by.

"Why are they all wearing masks and face coverings?"

"Wha—why would everyone be covering their faces?" Sure, the elf remembered seeing a few with masks and the like, but it seemed unlikely that everyone would be wearing them. Certain that the vixen was probably exaggerating her own gaze swept over those glaring in their direction, and sure enough there was one clear common denominator around them. "... fucking Beleg, he couldn’t tell me about this shit before I left?!"

The frustration was clear in her voice even as the girl spoke in a hushed whisper, her hands quickly tapping empty spaces in the air before her as Lúthien accessed her UI inventory. The first scarf pulled out was hastily tossed in Kyra’s direction with a quick "Here, put this on!" before the elf was walking away from the woman and towards the redhead by the stall. Now that she’d focused on Zelrius again she could see the man was clearly not a happy camper, the man attending the stall refusing to meet the player’s gaze—and once closer Lúthien could’ve sworn the air around Zelrius was hotter than the rest of the damn desert around them.

"You too, cover your face with this."

The second scarf was literally draped over the man’s head once she reached him, before a third scarf materialized from thin air onto her elven hands. She quickly wrapped the fabric hastily around her face, trying her best to mimic the look the stall owner sported, before her crimson eyes seemed to glare daggers right at the local.

"There you go bud, faces all covered up and whatever the fuck have you—now, do you have the shit we need or should we take our gold to someone else instead?"

It hadn’t even been an hour and the elf already hated this town…

Kyra hastily grasped the cloth from mid-air as it was tossed in her direction, holding it in confusion the briefest of seconds before getting to work. It didn't take her long to affix the piece, tying it in a Shayla styling that she'd once seen from a client, before pulling the front of it up and tucking it underneath itself to properly hold it in place. The entire feeling had a Islamic tone to it - something that Kyra wasn't entirely pleased with.

We should...maybe not dawdle in this town too much...I'd prefer to be out of the Islam-VR as soon as possible. Not withstanding the...atmosphere and everything here.

She growled as she glanced around - her vision now partially affected by the covering. More annoyingly, her ears were covered and somewhat smothered by the cloth, which rubbed against them in a way that created a more-than-just-annoying sound right in her ears. Who'd have thought that TerraSphere would have their own...Jihadi-town...

She eyed up the other two, still struggling with the stall owner as they tried to cover their own heads. Her vision quickly snapped back to the crowd around them, not liking in the slightest bit that it had continued to grow - nor the fact that much of it was looking less than welcoming at the current moment in time.

If you two are quite done screwing around...we should get out of here, pickaxe or no pickaxe.

He was about erupt - physically and mentally - right there just as the scarf hit the back of his head and obscured his vision. Teeth gritted in anger, hands clenched so hard that his knuckles were white. Reaching up to grab the scarf, and ready to yank it down off his face and turn his last question toward the guide Luthien. Before she was quick to take over the conversation, and actually not be immediately ignored. Something that made Zelrius's anger simmer just a tad, but turn more into the idea that the only reason he was more welcoming to her wasn't the head coverings, but the fact that she was a woman. Her and Kyra both. Fucking bullshit.

It didn't matter. Soon the man took their gold, and gave them what they wanted. Ropes, a pickaxe and a hook. No questions asked, no further suggestions. The redhead angrily snatched the rope up, mumbling under his breath while coiling it up and attaching it to the open belt loop of his pants. Maybe shorts would be worth buying too.

If it wasn't for Kyra's haste. So, they needed to be off. This was where his knowledge ended. Around the village they were in, were only the towering rock spires and high up plateaus. The clear blue sky and the drowning heat only broken up by the occasional winged creature in the sky. The current only guest of which was a whining and skreeching Wyvern, barely bigger than a house cat. Alone as it spread its wide draconian wings.

"Kyra is right. You know where the Volcano we're looking for is at, Whistle?" Trying to find the least offensive way to not just repeat the girl's name.

Out of the three Kyra was probably the one who wore the scarf best among them, not that Lúthien had much time to properly notice as the elf quickly took the lead on negotiating with the stall owner. Her responses were short and quick, the fingers of one hand unconsciously tapping impatiently against the table as the occasional side eye glare was given to the redhead beside her.

{ Can you please tone down your anger, dude? }

The traveling cloak she wore served to hide the tension on the blonde’s shoulders, her gaze quickly turning back to the stall owner as he finished gathering their supplies and the gold was exchanged—before Zelrius picked them up just as Kyra called for them to get a move on. The heat certainly wasn’t doing any wonders for the ranger’s mood, less so now that she was forced to wear the scarf all over her face, and when Zelrius finally turned towards her the words that came out of her mouth were sharper than Lúthien had intended.

"Don’t call me Whistle when I already gave you my name," Her steps were quick as she directed them to the nearest exit out of this place, already itching to remove the scarf from her face but resisting the urge while they were still within Ghylios. A map had been procured from the pocket of her shorts, provided by Beleg shortly before she’d set off for this mission, and her eyes carefully studied it along with their surroundings. "It’s that way, probably an hour or so away if we’re going on foot."

A long sigh escaped the girl, and with it some of the tension that had been building up on her shoulders, before the elf turned her map towards the other two—allowing them to take a closer look if they wished, though her hold on it never loosened.

They'd left the town behind, but not without causing a commotion. Kyra kept her attention fixated on their surroundings, not blind to the small group of individuals who had followed them to the edge of the civilised area, as if ensuring that they were leaving. Note to self...Jihadi-town is not friendly to outsiders.

As the map was brought out, Kyra's eyes shifted to the two others, taking a quick glance at the piece before giving up. It was far more in-depth and technical than she was used to reading, far from what she had expected to see.

Not to rush...but a direction away from this place would be lovely. The locals don't seem to be very fond of us...

She glanced over at Zelrius, as if trying to make a point as to why they may not be overly fond. She liked the man well enough, but he had made things a bit heated in the moment. Although, she had to admit that there likely wasn't going to be a nicer reaction from the townsfolk, from what Kyra had managed to see. It hadn't been Zelrius alone that had been frowned upon, but all three of them.

Are we looking for a specific area, or will any volcano do?

"Alright, jeez. It was just a nickname. My bad." Was all he had to say regarding being corrected on what to call her. Sounded better than just repeating Luthien on over and over. Avoiding the nagging feeling in the back of and ontop of his head, letting it manifest on his cheeks and eyebrows instead of in loud words or any physicality.

There was a moment of relief as the map unfurled, the blonde elf holding it out, Zelrius walking forward to lean down. His fingers pinched the bottom of it to hold it steady, and give his hand something to do other than just sort of dangle awkwardly below him. It was a long walk, and there were a few trails that they could take to get there. Though already, he wasn't interested in a scenic route through Redchrone, let alone through the foot of Volcano lands.

"Any Volcano will do, I think?" He started with answering Kyra's question. "I am just looking for something that can binded with steel or used in its own right to resist heat that I conduct through it. My last pair would sing and lose shape if I went too hot. And eventually shattered." Explaining the overall goal for the mission. And why he needed a guide to take him there, and a healer along the way. "The one Luthien here is being directed to is likely the one I requested from the League. Supposedly, a bunch of players fought some kind of Fire Elemental on it, and there are mini versions of that boss that roam all around and leave behind their essences when they die. That, and some volcanic metal, as I understand it, should be able to make a weapon that cuts and burns. Chunks that are forged by carving and chipping, rather than melting and hammering. No melt, good."

Going back over the details as they were described to him by the glass-blower and weaponmaker back in Stokbon who had conveyed the information. Another wipe of his sleeve across his forehead would show just how much the heat was doing to drain their fluids. Best to get going now, and get this all over with. "Onward we go, off like a herd of turtles." A phrase his Dad used to always say, that he had developed a habit for as he got older, as the man pointed forward, and began to ascend a sloped part of the road to walk along the rock formations and get on with the journey ahead.

There was a nagging feeling on the back of her mind that the elf did her best to ignore at the time, her eyes peering at the few townsfolk that Kyra had pointed out who were still staring at the group intently and with shunning gazes just as Zelrius looked over the map and explain what he was after with this expedition. "Yeah, Beleg said the cavern system around this volcano would probably have the best chance of yielding whatever volcanic material you’re after for weapon crafting." A few extra moments were taken by the elf to study the map and their surroundings as the destination was finally agreed upon, nodding to herself as she rolled up the parchment just as the redhead pointed forward.

"Pffft gods no," The unexpected quip of the man was met with a soft chuckle as they began ascending a sloped part of the road, her eyes occasionally turning to look back into Ghylios as the trio moved further away—she didn’t quite trust the town or its inhabitants. "I hope we make better time than a pack of turtles."

Once far enough the blonde had quickly unwrapped the scarf from her head, a relieved sigh escaping her lips as she used the fabric to wipe off any sweat that had begun to cling to her face and arms as they walked. "Here I thought the island was hot as balls during summer…" She quietly grumbled to herself, before her gaze shifted slightly to gaze at the man who’d been on the receiving end of her retort. A hand rose to the back of her neck, using the scarf to wipe any moisture away from it in order to hide her own awkwardness, before a defeated sigh left her lips.

"Hey Zelrius, sorry ‘bout earlier… didn’t mean to snap at you like that."

Kyra tagged along slightly behind the two others, keeping an eye on the town they were leaving behind. More importantly, keeping an eye on the people from the town itself, making sure they stayed where they had originated from. Something about their behaviour had seemed almost...violent to Kyra, and she wasn't about to let her guard down until she was sure.

So long as we get this done quickly, I'm happy...I hope never to have to return to Jiha-this town, ever again. They're not exactly welcoming people.

She half-listened to Zelrius' explanation of the weapons, lost fairly quickly as the ideology of smithing came into play. What she did catch, was the need to fight some sort of fire monsters - and the need specifically for a healer. Oh this is going to be so, so much fun...

You know foxes are more...wintery creatures, right? We don't normally excel in these sorts of heats...in fact, we tend to melt. Like ice cream. Except less delicious.

She scowled, realising suddenly that the heat was making her far crankier than the town was. Great...just what we need. A fox with mood swings, determined by the average temperature of the environment they're in...
