back to the real world...

TW: Mentions of S/SH. Mentions of Depressive Episodes.

Mia Harper

No matter how many times that she took off her headset, she always never looked forward to it. When Terrasphere had originally closed, it had thrown Mia's emotions in for a loop. She went off the rails, refusing to do work and instead seeking out whatever she could to bring about the feelings that Terrasphere had shown her. The feeling of being able to make your own choice, in how you would, without the consequences... The first few months after Terrasphere had been harsh, everyone had began to lash out at her. It had gotten so extreme for her that her mother and her ended up ceasing communication. No one knew where she had gone, just disappearing. This originally brought about her move to Boston. Where she would be closer to her friend, Zelrius... However she had no motivation to let him know of her move, which in turn ended up in her loosing all of her friends from out of the game. Not even letting Emilia know where she was, she went off the grid... After a few months, everyone seemed to just assume she would never return, she never really got out of her slump. It wasn't until much later than Mia realized that if she didn't do something soon, then she would most likely end up taking her own life. Everything that could go wrong had gone wrong, her depression taking hold of her life. However, her realization didn't mean that she would follow her gut feeling. It wasn't until she was hospitalized that she snapped out of it. Everyone that had supposedly "forgotten" about her, flared back up. Fans reaching out across all social media platforms. It was all the same, either she saved people through her music... Or they hated her and wanted her to die. The most dedicated of fans and reporters even going so far as to figure out what hospital she was in. Her room being filled with gifts, cards, flowers... Anything that anyone could get past hotel security. This was what really made the chord in her snap, realizing that she had to keep going for others... Even if she herself hated it. Her passion had somehow grown into hatred for the thing she loved most.... Singing. When she had recovered, she had jumped back into things. Only it didn't feel the same, all of her music seemed to scar her ears and make them bleed, figuratively. She hated everything she was releasing, but still did her best. Grinding away to save more people, and motivate others wherever she could. People figured out, eventually... It didn't take a genius to know that the music she was releasing, she wasn't happy with. It wasn't until a specific interview took place that she snapped out of her phase. The question they had asked her was if she was happy to be making music, or just forcing it so that everyone else would be happy. She hadn't expected that sort of question in an interview, so she had been taken aback. It caused her to really relook her life and what she was doing. Because of that, she began to work on a new song. A single, one that explained exactly how she was feeling and how raw she was. She didn't take nearly as long to write it, not wanting to second guess herself. After she released it, she surpassed all previous song hits that she had received. Her song reaching more people than any other song of hers had. It even got her a Grammy Award, (I am cliché, I know =D). The next three years of her life had been spent and fulfilled by tours, meet and greets, interviews, meetings.. Quite literally anything and everything that could relate to her career. Her life once again had become her career, only this time it was her identity. The only thing she could hold onto.

Gods, four years have passed already? Ilya was sitting atop a stone bench sort of wall. A fountain behind her with water that would lightly spray against her skin. Dampening it and causing it to shimmer slightly in the sunlight. Her tail was flicking back and forth along the water, causing little splashes to shoot up as well. Kicking her legs absentmindedly as she had been caught in thought. She was in a garden of sorts, enjoying the sunny, cloudless day and the slight breeze. Days like these made Ilya feel happy and fulfilled. Her past was a constant reminder of how much work she always put in, which made her believe that she in some sort of way deserved days like these. Looking back, Ilya knew that her younger self would hate her for making everything about her music. She hated the fact that she hated singing and music now, but it was all because of the emotional trauma that had presented itself in her life. Everyone wants the fame and glamour, but when they actually have it... Well, then it's a different story. Ilya was happy that Terrasphere had returned, the only issue being that she had got sucked back in right away. No one ever understood her on why she came back, knowing of all of the trauma that had happened in the past world of Terrasphere. However that never bothered Ilya, she knew her reason for coming back. Ilya needed Terrasphere in her life. It helped heal her and give her life meaning beyond her voice. A world where no one cared who you were, or what you did. How many followers you have, or if you look #HotAF or #WCW everyday. A world where reporters wouldn't follow her every footsteps. A world where she could actually enjoy being outside, obviously in the game, without worry. A world where she could meet lovely people like the people she had met. Almost all at once, memories flashed before Ilya's eyes, making her remember all of her adventures in Terrasphere after it had returned. The adventurous meeting of Brutus , where they... Ended up kissing... Her face turned red as she thought about it, but shoving it to the side her memories got replaced by the ones with Zelrius. They hadn't done much so far, and it felt like he was just too busy for her. But either way, they had easily taken apart a pack of wolves that had been messing around in a village. That was nice. She also reminiced in her memories with Toko and Crimson Ruby. Both of them lovely ladies, but speaking of lovely... Next was Vina. They had aimed to fix up the bandits situation. No matter who it was, Ilya had very fond memories of the friends that she had... And Ilya still had a long ways to go in regards to meeting new people and making new friends....

But for some reason, Ilya felt like she could do it. In this universe of Terrasphere, the entire world was her oyster. She finally had her freedom back.

back to the real world...

Sometime in the Fall... New York City

"NOVA! NOVA! We need to get you to the meeting, you're already two minutes late!" NOVA was sitting in a chair scrolling away at her email. Most of it was brand offers, though she was looking for something more interesting. The voice caused her to put her phone back in her pocket and stand to her feet. She brushed out her skirt before letting her assistant take up her arm. Then... She was dragged. Pretty much across the room as her assistant, Echo Lark ushered her to hurry up.

With her placing one foot in front of the other, NOVA rolled her eyes. "Why do I even need to be going to this meeting?" Echo let out a scoff.

"As if you don't know- Isaac Clarke bought over fifty percent of our label. You're meeting with him today because when he invested he said he wanted to meet with you. To talk over some... Ideas?"

The two made it to the meeting room, NOVA nudging Echo as she was lead past a wall of glass.
"Which one is Mr. Clarke?" Echo would point to the uptight looking man with long hair. Of course Mr. Clarke would look like he had a god complex.

Once she entered the room she put on a wide smile before giving a small head bow towards Isaac.
"Pleasure to meet you, I'm NOVA." She was ushered to a seat by her assistant before Echo brought out a notebook and pen and stood behind her. Echo's goal being to take notes on everything said in the meeting.

NOVA looked across and focused her attention to her boss and her boss' boss.
"Heya guys, must be important if you both are out here as well."

Then Isaac pressed his hands against the glass table as he stood to his feet. "I'll cut to the chase, you all know who I am. NOVA, it's a pleasure to meet you. Clarke Industries is committed to creating a welcoming environment for all of its creative talent, allowing you the utmost freedom in the artistic process. We understand that Talent like yourself is vital to maintaining a powerful brand, and we want you to see yourself as more than just a cog in the machine. Furthermore, with recent allegations of misconduct in other agencies, we would like to inform you of any and all resources available to you at any time if you feel that you are being mistreated, abused, or harassed by anyone in Starlight Records." He would slide her a business card. "If at any point you have any complaints on how you're being treated, you may call my assistant Mr. Steele and lodge them with him. He has the utmost authority in Clarke Industries to investigate anything and everything, if he can find proof of the behavior, you can rest assured that it will be dealt with posthaste."

That's it? Jeeze.. He must have a lot of money to throw around to get meetings like this to happen.

Then he asked them if any of them had any questions, though it was obvious that he only cared about her opinion. "I'm good for now, though I suppose if I do I can shoot you an email- Is it on this card?" She picked up the card and scanned it, "Ah, I'll be emailing Viktor Steele if I have any questions." She placed the card in her pocket.

Then the meeting was over, Echo hurried off to type up all of the notes and draft up a summary. NOVA stood to her feet and stepped out of the meeting room. Standing close to the door she took out her phone and opened it to the camera app. Then her boss's boss exited, her boss exited... And lastly, Mr. Clarke. "Hey Isaac! Let's get a photo taken to have memories of us meeting!" She held up her phone, an annoyed look flooding Isaac's facial expression. He didn't argue or deny, he just made a motion that said enough. NOVA turned around and held up her phone. She threw up the classic peace sign, stuck out her tongue and-- CLICK! The photo was taken. She closed her phone and put it back into her pocket. Then she held out her hand to shake his, it was an awkward interaction but NOVA was still smiling. "Alrighty, I'll let you get back to your super important manly duties. I'm gonna go pretend I'm doing something important while I wait for Echo." Then before Isaac had a chance to respond she would leave and walk back to her couch.

Once she was seated she pulled out her phone again and 'kawaii'-fied the photo they had just taken. Whipping up Instagram she typed what she wanted and hit post.

ig_post.png

There! It was great to meet him... What a lovely opportunity to connect with someone of his caliber, I wonder if he's single... NOVA turned her phone off before placing it back in the pocket on the booty of her pants. It didn't matter if he was single or not however. Mostly due to the contract, but the fact that he owned over fifty percent of Starlight Records, and the fact that she was in said music label was enough to mean their paths could never intertwine.

Feeling like she had to do something important she decided to shoot an email to Mr. Viktor Steele.

Mail

Dear, Viktor Steele

Mr. Hotshot over here came to meet with me and told me to message you if I had any questions or call you if I needed help? I dunno. Anyways, lemme "cut to the chase" as the old man says.

Can I have Isaac's number?

xoxo, NOVA

Then she hit send.
