Okami nods, she agrees it was a terrible idea. Putting that and her boss's weird tastes aside, she thinks about emergency services. Okami was rather familiar. Japan had an extensive one, due to its natural disaster efforts, a first response team able to do what they need to do was vital to minimize casualties.

Okami remembered being saved by paramedics as they hustled men and women injured in her town's horrible disaster. While she made it out with only scratches and bruises, she has seen adults with far worse. She had lost friends in that moment. Her hand would freeze as she begun to recall and remember the fact she survived that whole ordeal.

However, maybe it was smart enough or just greedy for more pettings, the cat she had been pampering rubbed up against her, mewing as it pawed her clothes. A breath and Okami would scratch the playful feline behind the ears where it liked. Then she remembered that she was in the company of another person.

"O-oh... That must be tough... Answering so many calls... Yeah..." Okami glances away as she takes a sip of her drink. The lack of taste did not help her mood. Happy thoughts Okami told herself, just remember happy thoughts. Another sigh and she gives a small bow.

"Apologies, the thought of emergencies hits a bit closer to home that expected, nothing to worry about," Okami prayed she did not make the conversation awkward. Any attempt to salvage their conversation she racked her brain for.

"Have you gotten prank calls before? I hear it's a problem for important services like those who answer emergency numbers."

She hadn't quite managed to miss the way that Okami froze up slightly when Cleo had mentioned her occupation, something which Cleo just filed away for now. Perhaps this was another person that had escaped a bad interaction with a police officer, or had some bad memories that were associated with the emergency services. Of course, she was never going to actually ask about these things, they were far too personal to be sharing as a conversation between two acquaintances and weren't the type of thing that it was really okay to ask about.

Though it was lucky that Okami herself actually apologized and at least explained that the thought hit a little closer to home. Cleo nodded, a reassuring smile on her face.

No need to worry. You don't owe me an apology or anything like that.

Though she would take the question about prank calls as it was: an opportunity to steer the conversation away from any dangerous topics.

Prank calls can be a pretty big issue, yes. But we also just get a lot of people that call for something that doesn't really need to be an emergency call. People that can smell smoke from a barbecue, or accidentally took too much of their medicine and think they might need an ambulance, when they're perfectly capable of walking or driving to a doctor's office.

Okami was rather surprised, if it can even be seen on her face as she took a sip of her milk tea. She can hardly imagine casually using the ambulance for such minor signs. Usually, she imagine that in order to justify calling, there needs to be a proper reason to such an important public service.

"Sounds terribly irresponsible of them," Okami shakes her head as she thinks about how much time is wasted when someone calls for something that they can handle themselves. Calling for fire services because you smell smoke from a barbeque? "The lack of critical thinking seems... alien to me."

Another sip of her drink and she picks up the cat on her lap, she looks into its big round eyes. A small grin, as she gives the feline a gentle pet before letting it go and watching it bound into a cat tree. Okami would slowly find her meal finishing up, meaning their conversation as well.

"Say, we should connect up... Hm... Where's this friend request thing... If you happen to be training and I'm around, let's get stronger together," Okami finally manages to find the friend request button and sends it to Cleo.

"For the sake of others."

Some people I think take for granted the idea that the emergency services are always on call and available. They always tell you that you should call if you even think you're at risk. It just turns out that there are a lot of different opinions on what it means to be at risk, so to speak.

Sometimes there was nothing they could really do. She would rather an elderly person, living by themselves, called the police if they thought they heard a noise in their own home, because on the off chance that there WAS something bad going on, that meant that the person didn't put themselves at risk just because they thought they might have gotten in wrong, or didn't want to risk wasting anybody's time with a false alarm.

What was that one saying? Every alarm is a false alarm until it isn't?

And that was when she received a friend request from Okami, along with the request for training together. Cleo smiled warmly and nodded, reaching out to accept the friend request that she'd been given.

That sounds good to me, Okami. I'd be happy to reach out to you if we're ever close together and looking to train.

"Great!" Okami smiled, a genuine expression for once. Her expression quickly reverted back to the plain blank poker face however soon enough.

With her meal done, Okami would get up and pay her fee to the waitress, making sure to wait for Cleo so they could leave the place together. As magia steps out the door, she turns to face Cleo and gives a quick bow.

"Thank you for your time today, let's see each other again at some point..." Okami paused. What was that quote that they always said? A bit of contemplation and Okami just rubs the back of her head.

"This isn't a goodbye... It's um... see you later" Okami hoped that did not sound so sentimental. Regardless, she turns her back to Cleo without hearing any sort of reply and runs, disappearing as a purple blur that ran through the now empty streets.

The genuine expression was nice to see on the robot-like lady, making Cleo smile a bit more warmly at the sight of it, even though the expression quickly reverted back to the usual stone faced expression that she'd had to get used to seeing as the two of them returned to their meals and finished them off. Okami had finished first, somehow, but eventually Cleo had finished too, paying the waitress for her own order before the two women stepped outside of the cafe. Once they were outside, Okami bowed to Cleo, thanking her for her time.

Ah, it was really no trouble. I enjoyed myself. Thank you for your time as well, Okami.

She bowed back, feeling only a little odd since it wasn't a motion that she was quite used to, but it was better than following her urge to salute. She didn't need to stand around saluting somebody in broad daylight. She'd have to get used to bowing and stuff, as a member of the Lion Arms, anyway. She smiled at the sound of Okami saying that they'd see each other later.

Sure thing. See you later.

And yet, Okami was already gone, racing down the streets as little more than a purple blur. Cleo stared for a moment, before shaking her head, turning away and beginning to walk.

She had more training to do...
