She never lay claim to the title of smartest person in the world, nor did she really want to be perceived that way; but for Alina, the pursuit of knowledge and its preservation were some of the most important things in human civilization. MIT offered the best and most reliable path forward in a world full of unknowns, and she knew that. She also knew that people were unlikely to look past personal grievances to see the good they were doing in a world like this one.

Unfortunately for Vashti, she wasn't particularly useful for what she had hoped to contribute to. While her skill with Magitech was new and exciting to her, it wasn't nearly as honed or superlative as the knowledge MIT had collected without her. She saw them putting it to work and immediately felt out of her league.

"Ummm... do you guys need any help?" she asked, holding a hand close to her chest uncertainly.

"Oh there's always something we could use help with," the woman said, smiling. "If you want, I can put you to work right away."

"Y-yes, please!" she yelped excitedly, and the woman chuckled at her show of enthusiasm.

"Have you ever worked a loader before?" the researcher asked. "This machine has the same concept, we use it to handle heavy materials and move them between locations. I couldn't help but notice you had some Magitech on you, I thought this job might be perfect."

"Oh, yeah! I can handle that!"

"Okay great! Now, you just sit here and turn this dial to activate the chassis, and then..."

Vashti offers help in restoring the MIT facilities, operating a lift-type Magitech device to move materials and goods for the rebuilding effort.

Prompt:
The Starforged Bridge
Narrator Tag:

It took him a second to catch himself as he looked at the people that were still moving over the bridge; it was something to see the sheer mass of them that kept coming; so many of them were seeking a safe place, and he was lagging behind the day had been long but there was more that he could do, there was more that he should do and with that in mind he could stop moving forward he needed to keep up the momentum if not there was a chance they might stall out on the bridge and if that happened those voices would get the best of them. Hell, at times, they nearly got the better of him, so he kept up the tone, something for him to focus on while he was working. Something to keep people moving and drown out the sounds of that pit that was under them, that wanted to take them down and consume them.

He kept them moving in any way he could, but they were always on edge, getting ready to break in a way that he couldn't stop; he could only catch them in case they fell. And they picked another, an older man that could walk anymore, his feet were a mess, and with all the travel, there was a chance that he would need to be off his feet for at least a week for them to heal properly. His family was thinking about leaving him there or pushing him over the edge, and he couldn't allow that to happen, not while he was around, so he moved. That voice would tell them to make the wrong choice, and he couldn't allow that to happen, not now, not when they were getting people moving, so he picked the man up and rested him on his back, his hood falling low enough that it covered most of his face. To most, he would look just like another traveler as he started to walk forward, carrying the man across the bridge. He had carried weight before and could carry one more or a thousand more if necessary.

So he worked with the family moving the older man over the bridge one step at a time until they were on the other side before he rested him down. The guards on this side would be able to carry him the rest of the way, but reaching into his pocket and pulling out a set of leaves that he had bundled together and mashed them in his hands until their sap was mixed and he covered his feet with them. "That should help to take away the pain and help with the soreness." With that, he rose with a nod and kept up the tone. "Making peace to build our future, Strong, united, working 'till we fall." He had to get back into the thick of it; there were still more people working on crossing that bridge, and there were still more people needing his help to get across.

His reconnoitering of the Encampment complete, Jin found himself with mostly busy work alongside other members of the Adventurer's Guild. Fortunately they were never really expected to do charity work, so even something this lamentable was a lucrative venture. Boring, but lucrative.

Jin was much more interested in other things than the hammers, nails, paint, and structural integrity of the inner wall, though. "You see them over there?" One of the men nearest Jin asked. "The creepy little girls, don't like like they ever grow?"

"Mmmm." Jin affirmed that he did see them. He did not attempt to drag that thought into conversation however. It didn't seem the man wanted to do anything other than gossip. He was just as in the dark.

"They're from Tertoria, you know," the man said as if he were an authority on the subject.

"Yes, we've been made well aware of the benevolence of our neighboring nation," Jin replied. "What of it?"

"There's Adventurer's Guilds in every nation in the land. Fact is, there's probably someone who could tell us more about them, probably closer than we think."

"And you didn't think to ask them instead of mentioning it to me?" Jin asked, incredulous. He looked the man over, convinced it wasn't some sort of comic way to strike up conversation, and he sighed.

"Nah, I just saw you looking around was all. Thought I'd try to point you in the direction of someone who could give you more information."

Surprisingly useful, Jin observed. If alarmingly observant. "I appreciate your candor," Jin told the man. "But don't watch me so closely. It makes me nervous."

"You're the one folks call Bloodsworn, right?" The man asked. Jin's eyes found his. "Word is, you're pretty damn capable. I like to keep my eye on Guildies what stand out."

"I'm hardly so impressive as that," Jin balked.

"Say what you will, Jin the Bloodsworn," the man grinned, showing a number of missing teeth. "When you walk the path of the Adventurer, inevitably, people notice you."

"Noted," Jin muttered beneath his breath as he finished his task, then he began to put as much distance between himself and the other man as possible. It was a small world, and there was no telling who he'd run into...

Jin has a disturbing revelation while talking to another Adventurer, and promptly decides to make himself scarce. Meanwhile, he continues to move about Camp EX+, keeping an eye out for anyone who might give him interesting new information.

Hanno couldn't help but notice @Harper and Sarina engaging into some combative stances, sparring and practicing their skills in a more practical manner than one would be able to do against mere motionless dummies that didn't even retaliate in any manner.

After watching the first sparring reach to a conclusion, Hanno applauded the two girls, with a smirk and an impressed nod.

"You two were great, but things can get even better." Hanno said, looking at Sarina in particular at first. "Raw strength is great, but you also need technique, Sarina. Technique and precision... And nothing is better to train precision than fighting a well armored target." He shook his shield, that had its tentacles wiggling lethargically, still weakened by the time rewind's side effects.

Soon taking a combative stance, the faerin got ready. "Show me what you got-" Hanno said, but then peeked at the tigress that was near them.

"You too, buddy. I saw those skills, and they were a bit familiar... Judokas can spot each other no matter how far they are. So you better give me a match yourself-" He winked, then returning his attention to the Lion girl.

"Ready? Because I am." He said, fiercely before charging in for an attack, expecting Sarina to try and poke the openings in his thick defense, while giving instructions to her through the sparring. He would do no different to Harper either, albeit his combat with her would lean more into martial arts, especially with Judo and adding a hint of other martial arts into it, as complement..

Hanno tries to help Sarina to train technique and precision, rather than pure brute force. If Harper is willing, Hanno will spar with her too.

"Ah, that attack from that big robot lady huh..."

Marigold began to sweat a bit. In her mind, she had accidentally summoned the monstrous magia mother with her magic. Of course this wasn't this case.

"Well, whoever caused that whole thing to happen's a real jerk, huh? Probably wasn't a Faerin though. We're not so good with machines or what have ya. But let's set that aside. So, 52% huh, little bit better than half."

Marigold winked as to let Nin know she could do math. Ignoring the part about helping or leaving, Marigold kept on with the questions.

"So what's your name anyway? I haven't seen you before. Were you at that big battle with the robot lady? I was. Didn't go so hot on my end. Oh yeah, you a beast person? I noticed the ears? Can you guess what I am? Pretty easy to tell because of my size I bet. So what kind of beast person are ya? Can you do any cool tricks? Not like a dog or anything but I mean like grow claws or climb walls or something like that? Oh, and just so you know I'm not a weirdo or anything. I pulled a wand out of my Pocket Frog and the wand said if I swung I might make a friend so here I am."

The camp was bigger than Teresa expected. Jacques had said that the group he was leading was on the small side, but she supposed that was relative. Then again, it also could be word of mouth working in favor of whatever was happening. When she pressed Jacques about his mistress, he didn't say very much, instead insisting that she would understand once she saw her. Cryptic, and a bit unnerving, but the others she was traveling with seemed to be okay with it.

They had gathered just within the edge of the forest outside Vintergard, staying a safe distance from the dangerous city so as not to get caught up in the violence within. There were still rogue magia wandering about and some of the more predatory Starcalled mixed in among them. She clutched at her weapon instinctively, the vibe already setting her off a little. All of the people here had dark looks in their eyes, all of them weren't satisfied with simply fleeing from Astorea, they wanted revenge on the Starcalled.

A sudden movement above drew her attention and she nearly drew her weapon when a tiny person flew into the air above them, magical wings holding it aloft. It had brightly colored hair and eyes that glowed with a strange pinkish light. A faerin? It looked like a male of the species but something was off about it. Why didn't the others notice?

"Hello!" The faerin shouted, greeting everyone brightly. "I'm Yipp! I'll be guiding you all through the forest! Not to worry, not to worry! The goblinkin and wolves along our path have all been cleared out for your safety. Just stay close!" He yammered.

She stepped forward, "When are we going to meet the Maiden?"

"When you arrive, silly!" Yipp laughed.

She made a face, that was a stupid question when she thought about it. What lord would come all the way out from the safety of it's domain to meet with vagabonds? Was this Maiden a faerin too? What did the Faerin have against the Starcalled? They hadn't been very much involved in the war against the Magia and that bitch Szofrit. She shook off the thoughts, she had to look after these people and they were already packing up to leave without her.

Jacques and Yipp took the lead, as promised, they had no trouble traveling through the forest. On their way, though, she began to notice a change in the trees. Some of them had begun to change color, the leaves beginning to glow. Before long all the trees had taken on a dark-blue colored bark and the leaves had turned white. Even the mushrooms had begun to glow strangely. It was like a dream. Ahead of her she eventually spotted a break in the treeline and pushed to the front just as the group slowed to a stop.

She needed to see-

A glowing woman floated in the air above a small island at the center of a small lake hidden here within the forest. She was reclined, ribbons of white fabric floating around her as she basked beneath a curved tree. When Teresa laid eyes on her, the woman turned her body and drifted through the air towards them, slowing to a stop just above the water. Teresa's mouth went dry, her knees went weak, and a chill ran up her spine. She was beautiful.

"Hello children, I am Ishtar." The woman purred, smiling at every face present, "Welcome to my home, you may settle around the banks of my lake. The faerin have gathered food for you, so rest easy. You are safe with me."

Teresa stepped forward ahead of the people. "Lady Ishtar! Your servant here promised us strength. We didn't come here looking to live in peace."

The woman's pink eyes turned on Teresa and she chuckled, drifting down and towards her. Teresa stiffened as a hand touched her cheek. It was so cold. Like death. This wasn't a faerin, it was a monster, a devil. The woman's fingers caressed Teresa's skin. "Teresa, yes? You've been through a lot, poor dear," She clicked her tongue and shook her head. "You want power? You know that nothing is free in this world, dearie."

Teresa swallowed, "I know. You expect service, right?"

"And patience."

"Patience?"

The creature smiled cooly, "It isn't easy to war against the Starcalled, dear. It takes time, caution, and planning. Vintergard was not built in a day."

So it wasn't insane. It had some sort of plan, but that wasn't for the ears of lowly initiates. Teresa swallowed, not flinching away from the icy cold touch. Was it really worth selling her soul to punish a few Starcalled for everything that had happened? She looked back into those eyes and saw something behind them, something horrible and hungry. Something that was waiting to lash out against those it hated. She set her jaw, "I want to become like Jacques."

Before she could react cold lips pressed against hers, and something dark poured into her very being. She felt it spread through her like a virus, changing her, twisting her, preying on her hatred. She saw visions of the horrors of battle even more clearly now, her memories vivid and shocking. Rage boiled as Ishtar pulled away and she looked at her hands, a pale light rising off of them. It felt so good. She felt like she could take a company of goblins herself! She gasped, clenching her fists. She looked up at Ishtar's face and the horror behind her eyes was gone, only a motherly look of pride.

"Welcome to the family, Teresa."

"You are thirty years old?" Rael's only reaction to all he had spoken thus far comes in the form of a sideways tilt of her head, lips pursed with untold amusement that breaks into a smile not before long, a conspiratory chuckle given to the adventurer whose time she had taken. "...My condolences."

Her hand falls away and she bids him goodbye with but a bow of her head, information gleaned from the exchange rapidly absorbed. Come to think of it, the longer she looks at the assembly of foreign envoys come to their aid, the small figures revolving around the building that would serve as their headquarters, the sooner she realizes there is a certain truth behind the adventurer's words.

All children of varying ages, with their most prominent figures, even the tallest amongst their number, amounting to little other than an oversized teenager. Faces roam about, relaying orders between themselves, the bustle of activity within camp something to be expected. No wonder he couldn't point her in a specific direction...

All too ready to deal with a threat beyond their borders. A threat none of the Starcalled so far knew anything of, beyond its effects on the living, but something they apparently were ready to deal with. To help others against, and...

Hmm. They had arrived too late.

Her tried and true method sees her approach the construction site, slowly so as not to accidentally spook any of the involved or provoke a violent answer from the guards stationed nearby.

She lingers unless she's allowed to go further in, stating her interests and questions to whoever might be willing to listen.

"Greetings. Ah... Excuse me? I have questions on the worship of Tria, and of your interest in these lands, if you would indulge me."

Someone, eventually, reacted to Seigi. Responding to every single of the names she mentioned.
Lady Saya hasn't been seen... for a year!?
Kiri was maybe too much of an unknown to be, well, famous!
And whatever Des, or was it Weiss(?), did was probably totally blown out of proportion! If she was so great and the defender of the world, where had she been all this time... before? Seigi could feel a slight antagonism against her. Was it maybe stemming from Nanami? After all, she had no reason to!

Nonetheless, she picked up one important piece of information. Star Chosen! Had she heard of that before? Maybe Magi? Gosh, there was just so much to keep track of, a miracle she'd even remember all the names! Nonetheless, years of consuming Japanese media had prepared her for this moment.

With her Guts and Effort Intuition, she gave the faceless NPC a thankful nod before turning her eyes towards the 'steel halo'. Seigi did not like the steel halo. Yet she moved closer to it anyway. Picking out strange people was one of her special abilities, after all!

"Excuse me!" She approached a stranger that she had a good feeling about! "I'm looking for..." What exactly? Well, she sort of knew, but it was sort of weird- No it wasn't! "I am Seigi Ling Ling! And I'm looking for someone to talk to.." She would like, really like to talk to Saya though!

"Noted,"

As if on cue one of the armored guardians had separated from the other and now watched him with a pupilless gaze from within his platinum helm.

"......"

A gauntlet rested upon the handle of a long, thick sheathed sword. The cape billowed a blue and white as if to contrast the dark-colored Bloodsworn.

"He's my assigned guardian. He senses a dark aura from you but it's okay. We aren't here to fight, darkness also has a place in many fates. Still, dissonance claims the red dwarf sooner than the white. You should be careful not to lose who you are. ...I don't want more assignments after this."

The young woman was the one who finished charging the spheres from earlier. She ran a hand upon the white plate of the knightly figure. Gazing up at him with a degree of affection before moving on to rest. The knight hesitated before following her.

This time in Rael's search for Tria lore, a Star Chosen wearing a hard hat passes by waving her arms around and speaking much more bruskly than one of her stature would seem able.

"Outta mah way lady! I'm walkin' ere'!"

"Or direct me to someone who would know in more depth of Tria, and her rites. I feel like... I should at least show proper gratitude."

The girl frowned, a burnt mark ran under her left eye. Which she used to squint at the elf.

"I'm bad wid people. Go ask Hylia right over dere'. It ain't mah job to tell you anythin' today! Mah fate be wid buildin' thins! Not chatta'."

Forming a square with her gloved hands the stout girl ran off with several large boulders following her around and almost smashing into passersby as she continued to demand they clear out.

"Ya gotta be friggin' kiddin' me!"

Devi screamed as she smashed one of the legs of a rogue Regulator that tried to "come at her, bro." Her attacker seemed to have been already badly damaged from an earlier encounter, though the greatsword-wielding pyromancer was pretty sure that it wasn't at the hands of their employer. After all, the people who were paying them couldn't even throw a net at these guys and catch them themselves. That's why they were here, though. The World's Greatest Lovers™ were going to perform the World's Greatest Clean-up Duty for the World's Greatest Screw-Ups. Hey, at least they were rich enough to pay upfront.

"Think we lucked out not joining that whole war with the robots! These things are friggin' tough as f—"

Devi cut herself off when the flames from her attack died down, revealing that her attempt to cripple the Regulator in front of her had been barely successful. The leg was singed, sure, but it wasn't completely broken off, which was what she tried to do. Clenching her jaw, she heaved a disappointed sigh. Then she shook her head before combing her hair back. Just a minor setback. Nothing biggie. Or however that phrase goes.

"You doin' much better over there, I hope?"

The roads became perilous ever since the end of what felt like a thousand years war. But the damage Szofrit caused was comparable to what Astor and his starlackeys left upon Terrasphere. Unity could rebuild a city, but nothing would change the opinions left upon Travelers with the decision to keep the mother of machines alive. Worst of all: It affected everyone else.

Perhaps that's why she settled with helping those who wanted to leave, as banditry grew with each passing day, to no one's surprise. A group of former Astorean citizens armed with a glimmer of hope given by Tertoria, welcoming anyone who could reach them. The last bit being the problem.

The group's leader saw only a flash of a blade and the loud thud of his aggressor dropping onto the floor once Fiora intervened. She could have given a killing blow right there and then, but that wasn't the kind of impression she wanted to leave.

Non-lethal. That much she told @Ronja Bubblyfoot. Just like last time, only now it wasn't machines and spectacular rays of death what came their way. They faced poverty-struck thieves, in a not so better position compared to the victims themselves. Slender limbs, ragged clothes and sharp farmer tools, with cloth to cover their faces.

Fiora knew-- They knew: Even if they have the numbers, they are completely at a disadvantage, left to their mercy.

"No need to make it bloody. Leave." She commanded. But as stone-faced as she is, her companion could tell apart the cold anger in her expression, aimed to an invisible enemy.

What followed weren't cheers but silence, as the bearded man stepped forth in the name of the many landers behind him who cowered in fear but moved not a muscle. Of course, why wouldn't they? They are travelers, the both of them. The sight made her feel sick, if only because it wouldn't be the first time nor the last.

"Please, we can't afford to lose any more food..." A broken voice worked as a plea. Despite the reservations the group had in regards to the pair-- It was hard to tell if the smaller one of the duo was a magia or not, but her looks didn't help the man in the slightest, and neither did the fact they were clearly Starcalled.

"We don't want anything from you. But there's plenty of beasts and highwaymen down the road, and I rather see you all get to where you are heading to in one piece." She couldn't sound more honest if she tried, that would be overdoing it, and none of them had a reason to trust them in the first place.

"Why?!" A woman cried, pushing her way through others to reach the front and face the pair. "We lost everything to a monster your king has now caged under our homes, right after burning them down, and only now you Travelers come to our aid?!" Her gaze fell on Ronja, her throat had gotten sore after a long night of wailing. Her words reflected that much.

"Tell that to the people who wanted to save her, not to the one who wanted to kill her. They are as guilty of burning down your homes as Szofrit is." She replied, to the disbelief of a mother about to tear apart once again, caught by the elder's arms just before she could drop to her knees.

"...We will take your word for it then, Traveler." It's not like he had much of an option.

But that's what bothered her the most: Knowing they did it out of fear, despite the secretive gratitude on the man's long stare.

"This is the price of keeping her locked, Ronja." She murmured, her brows sunk down to grant her a vindictive glare deadset ahead of them. "These same players are now eating and sleeping without a worry at their homes outside of the game."

When things didn't work out, they were simply stashed away. Some faint reminders might have still existed in the back of one's head, but they no longer occupied the forefront. After all, there were many more important matters to attend to in the wake of a catastrophe. Even if a person didn't want to help with the cleanup, it took a lot of distractions to forget the horrors.

However, when the beacon disappeared, MAI's curiosity would not let her go until the situation was checked. It didn't matter if it was Null or something else; the bite of knowledge waiting to be unearthed was always far too much for the curious sort - and the cat still had nine whole lives to spare.

With the familiar figure spotted from a distance, the magia approached slowly but in a friendly manner, golden gaze affixed to the ever-changing strangeness of the individual in front of her. And on her lips, she wore a most uncharacteristic smile.

"Curious - Someone more dangerous than what we Starcalled have already faced in Vintergard could have found it?"

Whether Null took it as an actual question of what possible dangers still lurked around or just a little tease back, it did not matter. There were more important things to be said.

"Correction - This unit did want to ascertain the state of unit Null, and her safety or the lack thereof. This unit is happy to see that there appears to be nothing to worry about."

Even if the magia in front of her might have been an unknown factor, she never showed any direct animosity. Not to mention that MAI was naturally drawn to other magia and was far more accepting of them than most. However...

"However, unit Null is correct that this opportunity would be wasted if no new knowledge were gained. This unit is sure that unit Null already knows what happened - Starcalled challenged Szofrit and defeated her, sealing her away instead of killing her. Neither of the eggs was destroyed or hatched. Everything went wholly different from the training you have prepared."

Did that mean Null's own plans were also derailed in the process? What were her plans, exactly?

"Mystery - unit Null is a strange one. With all that has happened... this unit cannot help but wonder. Has unit Null been part of the same voyage as Handler Szofrit, αlpha?"

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎❰ Actions ❱
Finding Null, MAI proceeds to inquire about her origin in this place and affiliation to Szofrit.

Beware! Brisshal

@Pandora* @Skyswimsky* - Which ever wants it. Though it'll semi follow the plot of Honeyhome in danger quest

The patrol dealt with, and injuries sustained, his twin volcanic weaponry lowered. His blue eyes surveyed the room, making sure that most of the stolen starting gear was returned it each individual owner. The bull of a beastfolk had proven a good ally, and, honestly - was really fucking cool. Charging into danger like that, no hesitation. Standing for the weak, the eay they looked at him. Zelrius was envious. This man was a vibrant light, shining like he hadn't seen in others for a while. It was magnetic.

"Do you.. wanna do more? Like, together, I mean." Was that the best way to ask, or word what he wanteed? Probably not. Was that all his crippling lack of social skills would allow? Yea.

Cut to Zelrius smiling from ear to ear in the forests of Brisshal. Happily sauntering, his body leaning from one side to the other, walking through the grass, over the logs, and past the streams and creaks with his new found friend. Until a sharp cry og pain was heard. The sound of someone softly letting out sighs and tight sounds from their throat, choked out by grated, tense breaths between clenched teeth. The man looked to his heroic companion and then away, turning forward.

"Hey! What's wrong?" The Pyromancer's voice rang out, approaching the source of obvious signs of pain. There in the foliage, a man clutched a wound on his leg, leaning back against a tree. His brown, flax pants and shirt were cut in many locations. Hanging loosely off his body with bruising and slashing visible.

"More of you Astorean Runaway bastards?!" He said with palpable frustration, a pale, weakened hand reach for a dented hand ax nearby. Zelrius was quick to take a step back, hands up and waving. "Woah, Woah! Chill! We're with the Adventurer's Guild." While technically true, it wasn't why either of them were in the forest today. A white lie to not have to incinerate this man in self defense. "What is going on?"

It seemed to work, calming the man down some as he began to explain the situation. Not all who were coming East from Finweald and various Astorean settlements took to normal life so easily. Some were brutal sons of bitches, as he so delicately put it, and turned to robbery and murder to make it to each day. The forest wasn't safe, these types lurked in every bush, at every bridge. Burning homes, stealing things. A classic tale of Fantasy economic struggle and Highway Robbery.

The answer seemed obvious to Zelrius. He'd track down these rat losers, and cleanse their ideals; with fire and steel. Now it would just be a matter of finding them.

Of course they wouldn't be happy with sentries.

Mizuki muttered to herself as she snuck deeper into Vintergard this time, her padded paws making no sound as they softly pressed against the barren dirt with each step. Walking on all fours she kept a low profile, sniffing the air periodically as she made her way forward.

The people from the MIT hadn't exactly been unhappy, but given that it was hardly the first time someone had managed to capture a sentry the luna wolf's contribution hadn't amounted to much. Their words had been diplomatic, but it was clear that they expected Mizuki to bring back something more substantial if she wanted them to keep up their end of the bargain and give her updates on the situation with Szofrit.

Not that she minded that much. To earn something you needed to work for it, and the MIT were wisely keeping updates on Szofrit out of circulation. There were too many people who'd get worked up about the fact that the Mother of Machines were still alive, so if she wanted to be kept in the loop she'd have to put her back behind it.

Which didn't change the fact that she was now targetting something much more dangerous than a sentry, so she had to be more careful and more aggressive.

Regulators weren't something you'd pick a fight with on a whim, given that their plasma cannons could sear holes straight through even the strongest defences if you didn't get out of the way. To take one down you had to abandon all ideas of enduring their attacks: evade what you could, and destroy the regulator before it could do too much damage. Worse yet, they were only found near the Dragonship itself, where other nuisances could quickly show up to make the situation worse.

Dashing behind a building to avoid being spotted by a sentry patrol Mizuki growled. The Dragonship's large, metal frame stood out like a sore thumb, dominating the landscape even as it seemingly lay dormant. Even with Szofrit gone that thing was more trouble than it was worth, but it wasn't like they could just pick it up and carry it away. Once the patrol had passed Mizuki shot out from behind the building and into an alleyway which was guarded on both sides by what had been homes at some point, but could now only be described as rubble. Still, tall enough rubble for someone to hide behind.

The Dragonship was quickly getting closer as Mizuki made her way through the city, until finally she peeked out from behind a crumbling wall and saw a huge metal surface rising up before her. Too tall to climb easily, given the lack of handholds. And also no regulator nearby. At least the actual sentries didn't get close to the Dragonship: there was no reason for them to.

Sticking to the metal wall the luna wolf advanced, running past the remnants of a once great city which had abruptly been rendered to nothing but memories and regret. It might once again become a hub of civilization in the future, but right now it just reminded her of what it had been like in the past. Fortunately, keeping herself hidden kept her busy enough that she didn't have to worry about becoming melancholic, her fur patterns shifting to match her surroundings as her paws carried her onwards.

Seeing a blue light in the distance she abruptly halted, slowing down as she leapt through a window and inside a building which had yet to fully collapse. The insides smelled like dust and rotting wood, making Mizuki wrinkle her nose as she moved back towards the window, hidden underneath the windowsill as she slowly lifted her head far enough so her mismatched eyes could see what was outside.

A large mechanical figure was slowly making its way through the street, accompanied by a bright blue glow originating from the runed orb it carried. Three metal legs tapped out a regular pattern on the cobbled street, a very faint humming tickling Mizuki's ears as she bared her fangs and tensed her muscles. Had she been spotted? Regulators weren't supposed to move away from openings into the Dragonship... but they were also supposed to be very fast while this one was going at a walking pace.

Well, regardless, she'd have to capture it before it passed her by. The doorframe was empty, the door long since having fallen out, meaning the wildling could easily use it as her path out of the building. Remaining hidden behind the wall she counted the regulator's steps, feeling the ground vibrate ever so slightly with every step. The regulator was more elegant in its movements than its size would suggest, but metal was still metal. While she waited she slowly brought her clawed thumbs to the backs of her hands, cutting open the skin so the blood could easily flow out. As a red line marked her hands the blood thickened, taking the form of vines which crawled up her forearms.

One... two... three!

She jumped into action, rolling over and onto all fours before charging right out of the doorway, towards the regulator. The large machine had been almost right outside of the building, which meant that even as it began to spin almost immediately to respond to Mizuki the wildling was already upon it. Hitting the ground with all four limbs she launched herself in time to catch one of the stilt legs which held the regulator's body aloft, preventing it from retreating and giving itself room to shoot. The vines on her arms uncurled themselves to wrap around the leg instead, shooting upwards to create handholds for Mizuki to grab as she quickly climbed her prey.

With its opponent on one of its own legs the regulator was having a hard time reacting: it swung the leg to try and shake her off, but Mizuki's vines kept her from falling as she scaled the limb as quickly as if she'd been running on a horizontal surface. Lifting its orb it released a ray of death, but it passed harmlessly over Mizuki even as it drilled a hole into the building behind her.

Mizuki's hardened claws carved into the metal surface of the regulator's main body as she reached the top of the leg. No time to hesitate. Pulling herself up she immediately threw herself to the left, in time to avoid getting vaporized by another death ray accompanied by a piercing whine and a wave of hot air. She only had a small window before the regulator's cannon was recharged. Her vines continued to expand, covering the machine's whole body so she had a handhold wherever she went. Running across its main body she went straight for the blue orb which was charging another shot, the runes on its dishes glowing with increasing intensity. She'd have to dodge another shot at close range.

The shot came, and this time she could feel the fur on her back burning as she fell flat upon the regulator's body to avoid the rest of her burning away as well.

She pushed herself up.

She steadied herself.

She jumped straight towards one of the dishes, the runes having lost their glow but quickly accumulating enough energy for another shot.

Reaching the dish she spun and kicked it, overcoming whatever force kept it in position and launching the large metal flap down the street, throwing up a cloud of debris as it crushed the cobblestones until it came to a rest against a pile of rubble which might have been a mansion in years past.

Grabbing the ring which surrounded the orb Mizuki pulled herself down, combining gravity with her own strength. With one of its dishes removed the regulator's cannon wasn't charging as quickly, trying to compensate for the instability the luna wolf had introduced.

An instability which she made worse when she smashed her full weight against the second dish which was right underneath her, dislocating it from its hovering position and sending it straight into the ground where it embedded itself.

Grabbing one of her vines to prevent falling as well Mizuki climbed back onto the regulator's main body, this time from behind. The other two dishes were glowing fiercely, but the orb wasn't firing. Maybe...

Her brief thought was interrupted when she had to let go of her handhold or be vaporised. The beam seared through the regulator's own armour, the combat machine having decided that eliminating Mizuki was more important than not hitting itself. Spinning mid-air Mizuki caught herself by hooking her foot behind another vine, swinging back upwards and towards her third dish.

The rising whine which indicated the regulator's charge was both slower and lower than before, indicating that Mizuki's plan was working. That was much-needed encouragement as she grabbed the third dish, planting her legs against one of the machine's own limbs to give herself the leverage she needed to throw the dish away.

One dish left, and the regulator was spinning wildly in an attempt to shake Mizuki off. The wildling growled as she jumped up towards the last dish, pulling back one arm and curling her hand into a fist, flesh giving way to hardened bloodwood.

Her punch launched the dish into the air, leaving the regulator's cannon without any means to charge itself. Landing on top of the regulator Mizuki looked at the orb. If she was judging the runes right it was facing her, but it couldn't fire.

Holding onto her vines to prevent the regulator's spinning throwing her off Mizuki raised her transformed fist and returned it to normal, then opened and closed it once.

The vines which had crawled all across the machine's legs shot out new tendrils which interwove. Once connected they contracted, pulling the regulator's limbs together. The machine trembled, then fell over as its legs were disabled, its own spinning throwing it against the ground. Jumping into the air to avoid getting crushed Mizuki winced as her ears were assaulted by the very loud and very unfriendly sound of metal smashing against stone, scraping and screeching as metal was carved and stone was shattered.

Landing on top of her prey Mizuki inspected the damage. The regulator was still trying to move, but its legs were tightly bound, and without its dishes the orb was useless. Which was a good thing, because the MIT had told her that the orb was very important. They also wanted her to bring back the dishes...

She was already dreading trying to get out of Vintergard while dragging this thing once, but now she'd also have to return to retrieve the dishes as well.

Mizuki sneaks into Vintergard, locates a regulator, then disables it and brings it back to Camp Hope so the MIT can study it.

Magia.

These new players had decided to make their first characters...Magia. Asher wants to pinch the bridge of his nose. He wants to huff and tell them that it was a terrible mistake, that this world is not kind to Magia at the moment and there's a whole...plot line...that these new players wouldn't understand that got them to this one moment in time. And although he wants to do these things, he resists. He is quiet and he smiles as they thank him and Zelrius and gather their things before leaving this run-down barn.

Here today, gone in a flash. Standing back up to his impressive height of a little north of six feet, he can't help the smile that chases these kids off and into the greater world of TerraSphere. He can only hope that they find more sunlight than clouds on their journey.

"Do you...wanna do more? Like, together, I mean."

Turning toward the swordsman, Asher's nonexistent poker face displays how shocked he is about the request. And a small blush even presses against his cheekbones, his crimson eyes floating from Zel's face to his boots and back up again.

"Sure," he says slowly before catching the hesitation in his words. He takes a step forward, hands out pleadingly. "N-Not that I don't wanna, I do! I just thought, well, you had other things—some other folks to be with, to...do...things with." Canting his head to the side, the Minotaur clears his throat. "I remember you on the battlefield. Hard to forget someone rising from death like a literal phoenix." And his mouth quirks to the side in a smirk.

Cut to the duo meandering through the forest, looking for more patrols or other new players that might come in contact with said patrols. The day was lovely, all things considered; the sun was warm on their shoulders, and a slight breeze rustled the trees, cooling them off as they walked.

Zel seems to react in the same moment that Asher does, his senses going on high alert when he catches the wheezing, pained gasps that float through the air. The boys move quickly, and the sight they come upon does not inspire warm feelings of mercy. The individual had obviously taken a beating and while Asher didn't have the means to heal him, he does lower himself to the ground and attempt to bandage what he can.

Wincing at the accusation, he wants to clarify Zel's statement, mention that he's actually part of the Lion's Pride, but the words die on his tongue. Was he really? He hadn't returned to the headquarters since the whole thing with Szofrid and even now he wondered if he should. The answer to their problem had been clear, at least to him, and Levi's inability to make a decision right then and there had made Asher's stomach curl in on itself.

They help the man to the best of their ability before Asher sighs, shakes his head, and turns to the living Phoenix.

"World has gone to shit," he grumbles. "So quickly too. Maybe we can find whoever did that to him. They can't be far." He clicks his tongue. "And if it is another Falderen patrol, well, there has to be a commander or someone in charge we can report them to right?" His brows tense as another thought makes itself apparent.

"They could be players just...roleplaying as Falderen soldiers. Just to do what they want without...repercussion."

Bringing the bandits down wasn't a hard task. Especially when they were nearly crumbling themselves, in both thirsty and starvation. The sight was pitiful, and Ronja couldn't help but feel a sigh escaping from her lips. She wished she could help them with more than just physical protection, but that wasn't feasible just yet.

When the lander approached, Ronja could notice his fear, and the gaze that went down on her. "Ronja thinks you shouldn't worry about it. She promises that as soon as we get to Tertoria, she will try to acquire a meal to you." She said, reassuringly, and trying to show a smile as genuine as she could muster.

That, in general didn't change their behavior, with the exception of a boy child that looked at Ronja with a curious and admired expression, one that she noticed, and she smiled a bit warmer at his direction, raising a greeting hand that was reciprocated, even if one of the adults near him seemed to tug him a bit away, muttering for him to not look at the magia girl for too long.

Fiora's words, however, made Ronja's turn her face sharply at her, with an incredulous expression building up in a scowl.

"They aren't as guilty of burning anything down, Fiora. They weren't helping Szofrit to burn anything down. They just decided to not destroy her, but at that point, everything was destroyed already." Ronja didn't care to raise her voice, even in front of those landers.

"Ronja was the one that helped burning those houses down. If you want to go around telling people someone is as guilty as Szofrit about those homes burning down, tell that Ronja is as guilty, not those that were fighting against her." Her voice was serious, but this time quiet, not wanting to startle the landers completely.

"You are being unfair. Especially to those that helped to save Ronja, to those that choose to accept Ronja even after what happened. To Ronja's friends too!" Her gaze flared at Fiora, clicking once, with her fist clenching for a moment as she turned to see the landers, hesitating to near her, making her lips purse and her eyes avert. The only exception was still the little boy, that looked at her, not with fear, but with a concerned expression as he took a step forward, only to be stopped by one of the strangers.

Ronja spotted it with her side sight, and her emotions cooled off for a moment.

"Ronja may disagree with Szofrit's current situation, she is too dangerous, and deep down... She fears it everyday, after all. She stays in this place even in her sleep, she wants this place safe... But they didn't choose to do it with ill intentions. And they did it for Ronja's sake as well." Ronja said, turning away from the landers, and from Fiora as well. "If you will have the head of someone who was out of themselves, you will want the head of the others too, right..." Ronja muttered, resting a hand on her neck, and if Fiora or the others listened or not, she couldn't know.

"Ronja will be scouting ahead. You won't need to worry about her. Fiora already defeated her once, and she destroy magias with a hand tied, if she wants to." And with those words, she took her leave, keeping a fair distance from them, getting rid of obstacles and detecting ambushes to hinder them before they even dared to touch the landers.

Rolls

Ronja and @Fiora Di Angelo rescued a few landers from an ambush, and while most of the landers seemed hesitant about their starcalled nature, and Ronja's magias traits, one boy seemed to accept her. However, Ronja disliked one of Fiora's statements, deciding to scout ahead to avoid startling the Landers any further, and defeat anything that could endanger them while the elf kept a closer watch on them.

Location: The border between Eastern and Western Brisshal
Prompt: Lander Exodus

The guards at the border wouldn't let Bluebird cross.

She couldn't say she was surprised, but it still hurt to see the distinct look of relief that crossed more than a few faces in the caravan. Despite all her efforts and everything she'd done, they still feared her.

Bluebird buried her disappointment with a smile. She curtsied to the caravan's leader as they passed, receiving an awkward nod in return, then flitted towards the trees to watch as people gathered and passed. She didn't regret the time she had spent. In fact, she was getting ready to leave when she heard a commotion from the crossing.

"I'm sorry, but we can't let you pass-"

Some guards stood in the way of a horse-drawn cart with a few passengers, piloted by a faerin traveling in the opposite direction.

"Like hell you can't let us pass!" For her small size, the faerin cartdriver was quite loud. "Last I checked there was no law against us traveling west!"

The leader of the group of guards had his hands up in the air, but the guards with him seemed ready to draw their swords. "Please, ma'am, it's for your own safety-"

The faerin spat. "My safety's my own problem! Just because we won't pay your damn bribes-"

"Excuse me, is aught amiss?"

One of the guards did draw their sword, only to lower it as Bluebird settled down near the ruckus. She smiled sweetly at the group. "If you are worried about their safety, I am happy to guide them along the trail."

"Stay back, Starcursed, we don't need your interference-"
"Oh by Tyldr's blinding asshole-"

Bluebird's smile didn't change as she looked to the leader of the guards. Her hands were folded in front of her where the guards could see, but it would be hard for them to hear the quiet tap-tapping of her claws against the earth, building a pattern that spelled calm, friend, surrender. "I mean you all no harm. I simply wish to be of assistance."

The lead guard - her target - looked back her with slightly glazed eyes. The other guards were looking his way, looking for a direction. He shook his head, the look leaving his eyes. "...let them through."

"But sir-"

"Do not make this more of a mess than it already is,"
he snapped, and the guards parted ways.

The cartdriver rolled her eyes. "Finally. Was that so hard?" She spurred her horse into action, finally crossing the border. Bluebird smiled as she passed, then looked towards the guards.

"Take care. May we meet again under happier circumstances."
Her victim was still dazzled. He waved a hand vaguely her way with a grumble. "Just... get out of here."

It was only when the border was out of sight that Bluebird asked the question waiting on her tongue.

"Why did you choose to leave?

"Not all of us care for Falderen's new laws. Some of us remember what things were like before y'all showed up, and we aren't too keen on going back to those days." The faerin scoffed, letting the horse amble along at its own pace. "Astorea's done us more good in four years than most of the world's done for generations."

Bluebird nodded. She knew a little about the history of the faerin. The world she was from may not have been better, but at least they tried to distance themselves from it.

"Besides, you've been able to pull tricks like what you did at the border from the beginning. Your sort haven't changed - it's us that are looking at you differently."

Bluebird jumped, eyes wide. "Ah, you... noticed?"

"Clever trick, but you can't hide magic from these old ears," She tapped one pointed ear, then laughed. "So long as you aren't pointing it my direction, spell away. Gods know we'll need it."

Location: Hall of Heroes
Prompt: Lions and Tigers!
Narrator Tag: @Pandora*

One of Harper's eyebrows would raise and twitch at the gall of Sarina to call her a random encounter. Sure, they didn't know each other so its not like the knight should address the tigress as more than a stranger, but that was still quite a rude thing to say to a stranger, let alone a fellow fighter!

"A random encounter, huh... Well, I guess my stint with Szofrit wasn't enough to give me any notoriety, eh?"

The tigress would let out an exaggerated sigh, her feline ears flopping sideways. "Well, I guess the ball is on my court now to change that. And what better way to do it than to school this lion in front of me. Get ready!"

And thus, the tigress would put up a guard as she started to make her way towards Sarina, ready to put her skills to the test against the polearm user. On her face, a big smile filled with excitement. This was exactly what she needed!

---

Time would pass as the both of them clashed. It was a classic dynamic of a close-ranged fighter and a medium-to-long ranged one fighting to keep the other one at their preferred range. At the start, Harper was more than happy to just trade blows to get into her range, flesh and fur meeting wood with thundering sounds each time as Harper bulldozed her way through Sarina's staff blows into a judo throw. Once she did get Sarina into the ground however, she would just back away and let her back up, before trying to make her way back in again.

This was her way of helping Sarina and herself train. She was 100% sure she could make Sarina submit with any of the many locks and chokes she knew, but that wouldn't do neither of them as good as just resetting once the brunette hit the ground. That, of course, didn't mean she was going easy with the throws. The knight's comments required some sort of consequence, after all. Besides, it wasn't often she could properly show off her judo skills on more human-like enemies, so she cherished the opportunity.

However, just bullrushing in only got harder the more they went on. The damage from Sarina's staff accumulated, and Harper's reckless charging had to make way for footwork and intelligent feinting. Yet Harper couldn't be happier, sporting a fanged smirk on her face that only got larger as they went on. This wouldn't be no fun if she faced no hardship, and she knew that they would leave this bout stronger than when they started.

"Haah, haah... You ain't half bad for a shorty with a stick, you know."

She would jump in place a few times before going back into a combat stance, clapping her open palms. "I hope you ain't thinking about resting yet, 'cause I'm just getting started! Hooorya-?!"

The tigress would cut her advance short upon hearing @Hanno Futaba , the faerin congratulating their efforts before giving her opponent tips and suggesting to fight her next. Harper would usually have a bit of a problem with someone just taking her spar partner like that, but her mood had gotten quite good after the scuffle so she let it slide. Hanno's comments about her being a judoka and having skills certainly did help, however.

"Well of course. Game recognizes game after all, heh." She would pridefully say as she played with one of her twintails with a finger, before taking a step back as Hanno charged. As they would clash, Harper would cross her arms and shout.

"You better not get tired after he's done with you Sarina, 'cause I'm not done with you just yet!"

With that said she would settle down and watch the both of them, though with a focus on the faerin for now, given that she would have to face him after he was finished with the knight. She had a few ideas already about how to deal with the heavy-armored foe, but watching him in action would help her think of more.

Rolls

Harper and Sarina clash, with Harper mainly just using judo throws as offense when she gets close before letting her up and resetting. As Hanno arrives, she lets him take his turn helping Sarina train as she watches the both of them go at it as she waits for her turn to arrive.

It was pretty obvious that Sarina wasn't feeling too good, which was exactly why Vina was making sure to remind her new friend that even if things looked bad at the moment they still had plenty to look forward to. The fight against Szofrit might have left many people feeling that nothing had been resolved and the future had only gotten more uncertain, but at the end of the day they had won that fight.

So when Sarina did seem to answer her optimism the vixen smiled happily, although there was also understanding in her voice as she spoke.

Needing to rest is perfectly understandable~ A lot has happened, and everyone needs time to process it for themselves. (She wrapped an arm around Sarina's back.) That really was different from anything I'd seen before, so all I could do was try to keep people alive. But we both got out of there, and now we can both focus on getting better so next time we can show whatever nasty thing comes at us who's boss~

Not that Vina was exactly planning on adopting a more aggressive style, but even as a support there was more she could do.

And teamwork is what works best, so next time we're out there doing our best I'll see if I can help you show everyone what you can really do, all right~?

As Sarina gave some examples of ways that Vina could help out the vixen nodded along, mentally noting down everything that was mentioned. Taking a long sip from her drink she put the glass down before responding.

Cheering people up is what I do best I'd say, so I'll see what I can do~ And help collect money for the charity at the same time: busking's as old as civilisation after all~! (She chuckled.) But I should also get some more training in, so I hope you won't mind if I join you~

True to her word, Vina would enter the Hall of Heroes and head for the training grounds while Sarina was already busy with @Harper and @Hanno Futaba. It wasn't a place where Vina came often for multiple reasons, but now she was here for some much-needed training. She couldn't always run away and rely on being the support to let others do the heavy lifting, after all.

Although that didn't mean she immediately knew how to join the training: physical combat wasn't her forte. Remaining on the sidelines for the moment she watched as the three went at it: Sarina with her staff and the reach it gave her, Harper with her physical strength and grappling techniques, and Hanno with his steadfastness and unfaltering advance. How could she compete with any of them?

Humming idly as she watched Sarina and Hanno duel it out while Harper observed as well the vixen felt the air around herself stir, as always happened when she was channelling a melody. It was a subtle stir, little more than a breeze which made her hair sway, but it did remind her that just because she was used to enhancing other's performance that didn't mean she couldn't do the same for herself as well.

But first she had to do her part to make sure everyone else could enjoy the training session to the fullest extent as well. As her humming grew in complexity she tapped her foot against the ground, assuming control over the winds and guiding them to spread out across the training grounds. Where the winds came upon someone in the midst of training or sparring they'd wrap themselves around that person, restoring their stamina and vitality so they could keep going without fearing injury.

After she finished weaving her supportive magic Vina stepped into the arena proper, still humming as she recalled the winds to swirl around herself instead. Once she'd gathered them all she called out towards Sarina and Hanno, a friendly smile on her face as always.

Heya~! I see you're both busy already! Don't worry, I won't interrupt the two of you: train as hard as you want, and I'll make sure you'll be in good shape afterwards~

Turning towards the third person on the grounds Vina walked closer until she was within talking distance, hands behind her back as she held her staff horizontally behind her while leaning her upper body forward.

And hello to you as well~ We haven't met before, but I'm Vina Skysong. It's very nice to meet you~ (She put her staff in her inventory before continuing) I'm not really a fighter, but I've been thinking that I should still train so I can hold my own if needed. I've seen how good you are, so maybe you could help me out? I think it'd be a good workout for the both of us~

She took a step backwards and spread her arms, the winds swirling around her arms before spiralling down her body and towards her feet, the vixen looking a bit mischievous as she took another step back... and her foot remained in the air a couple of millimetres from the ground.

My idea is this: you try to grapple me as many times as you can, and I try to touch you as many times as I can without being grappled~ I'll learn how to dodge better, and you get some more practice dealing with those who might not want to face you directly.

With Harper's agreement the two of them would face off, Vina doing her best to evade and Harper doing her best to catch. Given the difference in experience it wouldn't be very difficult for the tigress to grapple the vixen the first couple of times, with Vina only being able to soften the takedown with a gust of wind. However, soon Vina's movements would become a lot smoother and faster, flowing around Harper like a leaf dancing on the breeze. Practically dancing around she'd manage to touch Harper a couple of times without getting caught, upon contact releasing a minimal spark of electricity to give Harper a tickling sensation accompanied by a mischievous grin. However, there was no malice or condescension, just pure playfulness which was unaffected even when the judoka managed to once again grab her and pin her against the ground.

Caught again~ Guess I'll need to be even faster, or this vixen might find herself eaten by a hungry tiger~

Rolls

After finishing her conversation with Sarina at the Pub Knight Vina goes to join Sarina for training in the Hall of Heroes. Given that Sarina is already busy with Hanno Vina meets and squares off against Harper, challenging Harper to catch her while she tries to touch Harper without being caught.

Beware! Brisshal
A Masked Opportunity @Zelrius @Asher

Arcia hasn't been quite the same ever since the defeat of Szofrit. Among the common hatred for Magia and distrust for Landers, many people put great strides into regaining the trust of the common folk. Yet, an age of turmoil such as this brought an opportunity for both sides alike. What is meant to be a simple 'beat up random bandits' mission could easily turn into the discovery of a bigger conspiracy...

"Come out come out wherever you are~"
"Ooyyy! We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. Just a question of how painful it'll be."
"Look at the bright side: You're immortal anyway? Us? We're doing this to survive."
"Mommy, I'm hungry, and my feet hurt..."
"Shhh, we're soon safe. It's just a little longer."
"Silence..."

It wasn't too hard to find a rather suspicious group of ruffians. A rag-tag group of males of varying ages, two women, and a somewhat scared child. Making more noise than anyone else in the forest it was clear they were looking for someone. Maybe hiding? All in all, it didn't seem like they had taken a shower in days.

The most muscular but also calm-looking one, a giant of over two meters, had ushered all others into silence. Instead closing his eyes and listening. The accursed Starcalled had to hide somewhere! Their aim was simple. Their commandment clear. "Got you..." With a satisfied grin, he put a finger up his lips 'Shhh', before walking towards a bush and, in one swift motion, packed something hiding inside.

"AAAAHHH! UNHAND ME YOU BUFFON!" Grabbing the entire head of a Faerin, the Bandit Leader simply lifted the Starcalled airborne. "Wooo!" Most of the others broke out in a cheer. "Now, what did that creepy dude say again? Sacrifice the blood of a dying star, and paradise shall reveal itself?" - "Blood? How much blood we talking?" - "A lot, of course!" - "Like, a lot, or a lot lot? Or maybe a lot lot lot?" - "Well, too much can't hurt?... Other than that midget of course!" - "Can stars even bleed?"

As the Faerin kept struggling, the leader rammed the captured Starcalled head into a tree. Not saying a single word or warning as the others kept bickering among themselves. Enough of a shock to silence the (still alive) Faerin, while one of the two women put her hands across the child's face. Pulling it closer as to protect it from the wrongdoings of the outside world.

"Jorge, get some rope and tie it up. Baken, take the kid away. Joshua, take a knife and bl-" The tall man stopped. His eyes looked in the direction of two newcomers. @Zelrius and @Asher. "We've got uninvited guests..."

"More blood?"
"More blood!"
"That should be enough blood, aye?"
"But they're still not stars!"
"Jorge, do you even know what a star is?!"

Null ???
Fineweald: Calculator Battle Site @MAI

Mai asked questions.
A lot of questions indeed!
The right ones, the direct ones, all the ones!

"Aren't you moving a little too fast, little Magia? As far as I know, we didn't even have our second date!" With these words, Null slowly walked a circle around Mai as it was now her turn to talk. "Though your concern for my safety warms the heart. Truly! For that, here. Is. A. free-bie: The Calculator still lives! Freed by the fateful chains of serfdom, nooow succumbed to his very own madness! Just what is it you! would have done if he found your signal?" Null shook her head, moving on. The color of her hair changed ever so slightly in the sunlight.

"Yet! As it so happens, Null is indeed very aware of all that has transpired! Including egg!... aaaand no egg! But... worry not! The golden egg shall hatch! Sooner... or later! For I am neither key, nor child." Giving Mai a satisfied nod she ended her exposition with more cryptic words. "As for my most. Mysterious. Origin, it is quite simple indeed: I have participated, and I have not! A paradox indeed!"

Null stopped, now doing a twirl on the spot before taking a few steps closer to Mai. Getting her own face very close to MAI. "I like you, little Magia. So how about we play a little game." Part of her speech pattern suddenly having returned to more... normal? "I shall answer all your questions truthfully, but I shall talk as much or little as I want. And you only get three! Aaannnddd if you make inquiries about elaborating on something..." Her smiled widened. "I won't. The offer of a life-time!" With these words, Null took a few steps back and made a cheerful 'yay' motion!

Unlock: Null's Offer: At any point going forward, MAI may take up Null on her minigame via a comms thread.
