_____Medusa needed something like this, arms reaching to the sky joyfully as the Chameleon soaked up the sunlight and relaxed for the most part. It was easy enough right, a simple quest that some farmers needed someone to just watch over the new fields and keep any monsters or things out. it was ranked super low on the guild board and Medusa was supposed to have others there to help out so maybe they could just relax and get a tan.~ Surely there was nothing super dangerous around the corner?~

QsCxta6.png
"No no, moment we start thinking that we gonna get attacked by a demon or something... just give me rabbits or something game, I need a distressed! Please!"

_____Sure, if Medusa really wanted a day to relax they could have tried to call Crimson up to hang out with them during their permitted twelve hours this week, but the Chameleon already felt super clingy and had to work out exactly where they wanted the relationship to go after everything that happen at the lake. face going red as the lazy player rolled over on the boulder they had been on to hide the flustered expression. Still recalling just how they went and said everything.

_____It was due to this the player was fully unaware of anything that was or could be approaching, was it another player, maybe the lander here to lecture them for slacking off, or could it be a monster or creature of some kind here to make the rookie work for the gold they wanted? Rolling back over to watch the clouds as Medusa seemed to forget there was possible threats in the area. Whoever else took the quest was going to be overworked no doubt if things kept up.

"I really wouldn't recommend wishing for rabbits. Those things can be much more trouble than you can imagine." The sudden yet friendly voice sounded from close by, a fairly tall feline with an athletic build being the source. She was leaning forward slightly, hands on her hips as she looked the chameleon lying on the ground over with a faint smile. There was no hint of hostility, at the very least... she certainly was not a fellow co-worker watching over the farm, wishing to be stern with others to ensure everyone was doing their best.

In fact, Fina wasn't here to help with the farm at all. The area was nothing short of peaceful, and she didn't even know about the request. However, she did get into a habit of visiting these more peaceful places after all that went down in Vintergard, simply appreciating the beaty of this world and relaxing. It sure seemed that the girl she had just found was doing exactly the same. A player, given the way they talked to themselves.

Now, when did the cat get into a habit of randomly approaching strangers and striking up a conversation? She herself wasn't quite sure. Perhaps it was the silly plea to the gods of the game that caught her attention and amused her? Or perhaps she simply saw a kindred spirit in someone who wanted to lazy about on the floor, despite there being far more comfortable places that one could reach indoors. The charm of the outside as the Sun warmed all was unparalleled after all.

For Camus, there were many ways the silver haired elven male could be. It really depended upon the company that he happened to be caught in. Some he couldn't help but be so bold and poke them until they exploded. Some he was nice to until he grew bored. Camus was a type that no one really knew what would come out of the male's action next. He had a nasty habit of talking to himself , a trait that had developed actually in the real world and not in the game. The irony of that. He had seen other's do it in passing from time to time here. Seemed that a lot of people could keep their thoughts to themselves. Or perhaps they simply wished to speak out and hope someone else answered them. He highly doubted it that other's would have the same problem that he did. Not too many held little demons inside of their mind, voices that constantly taunted them. Perhaps that was the very reason he tended to poke people sometimes.

The elf was more in the exploring aspect rather than taking quests for gold. So he had no way of knowing that the very farm he approached was the location of said quests. He was by far not a new player, he just had other thoughts behind what made his mind work than completely quests. He had a party, oddly enough, but than again he drifted about much like dust on the wind from time to time. His goal was to go to every place that Terrasphere had to offer in the end. A quest of his own making, and sometimes said quest was a way to get away from his own troubles. He heard a voice speaking clearly to themselves -- or so he thought. Demons-- were there even demons in this game? Interesting thought... no there was one who might just end up being a demon. Though he rather not think of the thorn in his side that he had lodged there himself.

"Oh now what trouble could a little rabbit be? Isn't it all in how skilled you are~" He spoke and made himself known with a small hum , leaning against a near by tree. Two beastfolk and an elf-- they looked like an interesting bunch surely. A chameleon, he couldn't say he had run across any of those before, now cats--- he had seen. Crimson eyes watched the two , offering them both a rather kind smile. He clearly wasn't a co-worker who was watching over the farm, more like a curious elf. Yet he didn't give any ill intent in his present. "The most trouble I would say are they are quick. Not sure what type of rabbits you're dealing with." Rabbits actually oddly reminded him of his first encounter when he had come to the game -- so long ago it seemed.

_____Medusa almost jumped out of their skin, thankfully they had a better reaction as the chameleon made a very sudden 'eep' sound before vanishing from most people's sight less they tracked the individual's outline. They had put in some work to vanish on a dime after the events in the dungeon, no longer needing the 'smoke' when they jumped to different scrolls they scattered around an area. Peeling the camaflage away as Medusa looked over the two people.

_____One looked not much different then Crimson, not as cute as Medusa hummed to themself as they still thought the kitten was cuter then this cat. The other, well Medusa was unsure if they had somehow got to pick vampire or just went a bit over detail in making an elf look all gothic. Stretching again as Medusa could only tip their head when told not to expect rabbits over literal demons. No game world would ever have a rabbit stronger then demons right!?!

Phnpp9j.png
"Well sorry if my memory of rabbits being the better pick compared to literal demon spawns from the place down under. This chameleon ain't ever met a rabbit they could not cuddle!"

_____Medusa grinned like a fool, they only ever met one rabbit in real life and it was a sweetheart that let anyone cuddle or pet it and had on a few times hopped into people's laps to rest on them. To them, a rabbit was just a less mobile version of a cat. Thinking that the game might just be evil and have 'killer rabbits' or something they had now got the poor rookie on edge and panicked they took on a more dangerous quest then they had expected.

"Oh, sorry-" The apology came quickly when the chameleon became spooked and activated their natural camouflage, which was actually quite neat. Made Fina wonder if it was related to their ratial abilities, masteries, or if it was just something they could do naturally. No matter, she continued on. "Clearly you've never dealt with rabbits near farms." She turned to face the elf. How sneaky of him to tip-toe just like she did, despite not being cat.

"Those things can be ravenous. Not for human flesh, mind you... for the crops. They graze on so many things, it's easy for them to ruin a harvest, kill young trees, and much more." That's what she meant. Rabbits obviously weren't going to be a threat in combat, or anything like that, but they sure were a threat for farmers and gardeners. As someone who lived in the countryside in real life, Fina knew that very well.

"And I think you're thinking of bunnies there, those are the cuddly ones while rabbits are wild." Given how the chameleon girl talked about the creatures, the feline did not dare mention that rabbits were mostly kept for their meat, although the pet variant was indeed getting more popular among the younger generations.

Wicked. He knew not how the chameleon seemed to vanished from the naked eye. Clearly something that activated much like a chameleon in the real world, though was it a racial trait, mastery or something that was come up with by the other player. Though regardless , it was wicked sweet. When the other apologized, he did not. He simply stayed where he was leaning against the tree. He couldn't help the soft chuckles as the chameleon was corrected of the difference between rabbit and bunnies. Honestly he couldn't help but be reminded of his own sister in a way at the comment. A soft spot, wanting to cuddle the creature. The feline seemed to be almost bitter over rabbits and crops. And he was the elf, the nature loving one was not. Odd how that worked. He was personally impartial about it, he couldn't even explain why he picked an elf in the beginning.

"I got to agree with the kitty there. When I can't say I know much about the harm a rabbit can cause by hunger and boredom. Though yeah, you clearly are confused a bit about the difference. Though I suppose if a rabbit is tamed than it would in a way become a bunny. Wouldn't happened to have taken beasts arts?" He wasn't a newbie-- it was clear he knew facts and was quiet knowledgeable. He didn't seem dangerous at all, he seemed oddly welcomed to talking to the two beastfolk. "Sure ya didn't pick the wrong race, champ." He didn't even react to the little demon in his head. Now was not the time or place for that to bear its head. "I have dealt with my fair share of rabbits honestly, and none of them intentional wished for human flesh. Okay... there was one or two who bit-- but more so out of fear than to become man eaters. So really ya shouldn't be too worried about them."

A smile formed "now demons-- I don't think are a problem either. Mutations perhaps , beasties of different breads. Though I doubt demons are on that list. If a demon is encountered-- I'll gladly enjoy seeing one." Those last words were more of a muttered. Camus was a bit of a different soul. "Though hmm maybe names might be best here. Seeing as it seems ya might actually wish for the company. Camus is the name. And you two are?" He had given the name 'kitty' to the feline-- though this time it was more because he didn't know a name. What else was he meant to call her? Would 'hey you' had been preferred?

_____Medusa could only blink at the two for a few moments, they did not exactly know many different animals or if they got name changes based on how they had been raised or where. it all made little to no sense to medusa would would simply tip their head and keep listening to the two for a bit longer. Hearing the elf give his name, and before that not be worried about Demon encounter well...

47QnFJs.png
"I thought Rabbit was just the adult term for bunny...? Also please don't go saying you fine meeting a Demon, we don't need that mojo in the air! Also Name is Medusa, like the Greek myth.~"

_____Medusa grinned while giving their two cents into the conversation. The inner mind of the chameleon wondering how far they should go with jokes but for now was keeping them held off as they needed to work out what would and not be ok. Adjusting the outfit some as Medusa would climb up the tree my shooting her tongue and pulled themselves up to the lowest branch to overlook the field. Gathering they had been the only one to take the quest it seemed they had work to do.

t0Ht2ZE.png
"I will be sure to keep vigilant eyes in all directions el advisor of fluffy ear and tail! And I will keep my head on a swivel!"

_____Medusa while they spoke kept both eyes facing different directions and spin around on the branch playfully laughing all the while. The chameleon did not seem to have a single serious bone in their body as they giggled and wrapped their tail around the branch and swung to hang upside down looking at them with a grin. So far so good, but Medusa was supposed to be here all day SO who knew.

"If a rabbit decides to bite you without much provocation, I would strongly urge you to find someone with medical knowledge or general healing magic to ensure you didn't get rabies, just saying..." It might have been pointless to worry about a disease of the real world inside of here, but given how realistic TerraSphere tried to be at times, perhaps it was not as displaced as one might think. "Anyway, it's nice to meet you. You can call me Fina." Definitely nothing nearly as fancy as a name inspired by mythologies. However, it was nice to confirm that all three of them here were indeed Starcalled.

Although watching Medusa move and act was, well... it certainly brought about questions about the woman's sanity. "Lookout, huh... so, um, you here for any kind of purpose? I'll be honest, I kinda approached you at first because I thought someone was loitering around the farm, given how you were lazing about on the ground and all." Hopefully that didn't come across as too rude or blunt.

He listened to the chameleon and how he need not put that mojo in the air. He couldn't help but give a slight chuckle. "I highly doubt that type of mojo would work here. If it did-- I'm pretty sure I would have met a demon quite long ago." If one thought by that logic, well it did make sense. Before there wasn't a single demon around, sure there were people who might have tried to create a personality of some evil being-- but no demons per say. He couldn't be as sure about Terrasphere with all the new updates, but he was still fairly certain that there were still no demons in the game. He truly wouldn't mind to meet one, just to see what one would be like. "Why when you have me." The little demon might have a point. He didn't need to meet a real demon when he had what seemed like one in his head.

So the chameleon was named Medusa, like the Greek myth. Why had they not picked a snake instead of a chameleon. He didn't know the rules behind beast folks, but he also didn't wish to ask such a thing. The kitty was named Fina-- easy enough to remember. Didn't leave much of ways to shorten it. He could assumingly continue to call her kitty. Yes, because this was how his mind work. Perhaps it was because he just enjoyed seeing how people reacted to little nicknames that they might end up getting. Medusa seemed to be quite an interesting one, his crimson eyes easily examining as she went up the tree and seemed to spin around.

Perhaps she had a screw loose somehow. Made for quite an interesting time and no boredom at all. He actually couldn't help but blink at those words. "Are we really looking for commander rabbit now?~ What's next thinking they are gonna come out with zombie rabbits. Which then again wouldn't be unable to habit." He couldn't help the thought. Not like he had a wish to encounter said zombie rabbits either. "Pretty sure that would be more something to happen here. Rabies-- would be less common here" he replied in term to Fina.

"Though yes, I suppose it is nice to meet both of you." He couldn't help the slight snort at what Fina had approached for. "Am I to assume this farm means something to you somehow? I just happened to be around and couldn't help curiosity." It might be bad sense to make the joke how 'curiosity killed the cat.' The group was quite an interesting bunch indeed. Medusa alone seemed to make said group interesting. He wouldn't be giving either any reason to judge him, what was in his mind stayed there. The most oddity that he provided was an elf being with two different types of beast folks.

_____So it did seem like Medusa was the only one who came here based on a quest. A playful shrug as they dug out a scroll from their belt and tossed it higher in the tree. Waiting until it was high enough Medusa would clap and allow a cloud of smoke to coat the area they had been and sit higher up in the tree swinging their legs and folding a paper airplane to toss down to them.

Phnpp9j.png
"I took on a quest to watch over the newer fields around here. Some farmers did not trust how calm things have been and wanted to be doublely sure no bad mojo came a knocking.~"

_____Medusa would point at the paper airplane, the quest paper they had been given to make sure they arrived where they needed to be. If the two did read it, they would notice something Medusa had not in the fact this was not the field they needed to be watching but rather one further north. Medusa was still unaware of the fact and kept looking around the area enjoying the rather laid back quest.

_____The exact 'location' of the quest was stated to have more then a single tree in the field, there was also the mention it was the one field with a unfinished fence and no scarecrow. All signs the Chameleon seemed to forget about and just read 'Tree in field, fence, scarecrow' at the time and went based on that information not knowing the devil in the details. Humming some as Medusa would look back to the two to speak up again.

Phnpp9j.png
"I'm still a rookie at the whole quest thing so farm watch felt like beginner quest. Plus I really don't like spending my very small time on the game doing stressful or dangerous things."

While the elf was certainly a curious one, he could not trump the strangeness of Medusa no matter how hard he would try, or not try. Especially when the other girl was doing thing like summoning a cloud, or perhaps detonating a smoke bomb just so she could sneakily get up higher in the tree. "H-hey, do you think these farmers will be particularly fond of you covering the farm in a smoke like this..?" Somewhat ignoring the paper airplane flying down, dismissing it as regular paper, the feline merely took a few steps back and void wave her hands a bit if the smoke did get close enough to her.

"So you're new to this world? Just a word of advice, fulfilling a request from a Lander isn't really 'completing a quest' in a traditional sense. Unless the man gives you a physical reward, you won't actually get anything. That's not how this world works." It was easy to assume that one could do quests to gain experience and level up, but that just didn't seem to be how things were done here. Hell, there was not even any UI elements portraying to quests as far as Fina was aware. "And no, not special in any way. I just try to stop shady people from trespassing when possible..." She answered the elf as well.

While he seemed to have found himself in some interesting company-- well Fina seemed to be normal enough. It was Medusa that seemed to be less so. Crimson eyes watched as the other threw some type of scroll higher in the tree-- some ninja type move. That was all he could really think of such, more so just a type of smoke and mirror gimmick. Nothing special, all it served was to produce enough smoke around the area. Though he saw as the paper airplane came flying down. He would assume they were giving them the quest paper they had taken. He snatched it from the air-- as it seemed Fina held no interest in it. He was just curious upon it. So why would he not wish to see this quest for himself. He remembered how it had been when he had been a rookie in fact.

So it seemed that one was too carefree and one was too strict. Well strict wouldn't be the right word-- perhaps it be better to call Fina someone who 'played it safe'. He couldn't help the small snort that came from her words to their little tree ninja. "This world is a bit different, I agree there. Plus one might need to read all a quest before taking it-- especially if doing so alone. Unless of course if you like surprises, by all means go in half blind to it Makes life exciting." He finally opened the paper airplane that he had captured from the air and went to read over the details about the taken quest. Crimson eyes looked over the bolded text and then looked over their location. "Now remember how I said to look over all the details~"

A small snort leaving him as he waved the paper as he seemed to speak. "So we have a finished fence here and a scarecrow, and one single tree. Though seems like you are in the wrong field. So if you indeed did take this quest , Dusa~. I would not just skim for words. You need to be in a field with an unfinished fence, no scarecrow and multiple trees. Sooooo shall we go field hunting~ I'm bored-- so I suppose I'm gonna stick along and see what mojo is in the air~" He smiled at the feline. "So are you planning to stay with these so called shady people? Or would you leave me all alone to guide our dear Medusa here? You seemed to know more about the farm lands here anyways. That place sound familiar to you?" He asked as he went to go and hand the paper out for Fina to take.

_____Medusa looked between the two others for a bit. The smoke was not to much of a problem, least not in the eyes of the chameleon. It was just to hide them when they turned invisible and or trigged shadow arts to move to the scroll. But it was not like Medusa would explain it. Nodding at the advice from Fina, before blinking a few times as Camus started to explain the quest.

_____Medusa moved, jumping from the tree while placing a scroll in their mouth to let their tongue shoot it towards the two. Doing another 'smoke hop' to be standing near them looking at the paper as it was offered to Fina. A blank gaze across Medusa's face befroe balled hand tapped flat palm to signify 'I see' or 'I got it' To add to the inner fun using Illusion magic to form a glowing questionmark, that turned into a lightbulb when the noticed it was true.

Phnpp9j.png
"well paint me gold and call me enriched, Watson over here is right I am in the wrong field ha-ha.~"

_____Once more adding to the overly joke style Medusa would turn gold, using illusion magic to adjust the outfit color to match, giggling as the hopped around the two forming binocular's with hands to help 'look' around. Not exactly like Medusa needed it due to the racial traits sending almost all their senses into overdrive while playing. Spinning back to face them while colors returned to normal, hands moving behind back, and getting on their toes to lean forward and look ready to fall but held the odd angle. Waiting to see if they planned to follow, or considered splitting from wild carefree Chameleons.

So the piece of paper that came flying down really was the parchment with the whole commission. At this point, Fina was almost impressed with how little Medusa seemed to really care about this whole thing if this was the respect she was showing to official paperwork that got her the job in the first place. Not to mention the repeating trick of spreading smoke everywhere, causing the cat to take a few steps back as the chameleon girl suddenly appeared in between herself and the elf.

"You don't seem to actually care all that much that you're in the wrong place... do you even care about completing this commission? Or did you just take it so you'd have an excuse to sleep on a tree that belongs to someone..?" Did that come across as a bit too harsh? Possibly... Fina felt tired and shook her head shortly afterward. It seemed that certain things were still getting to her a tiny bit.

"Familiar? Er, not really... I just visit places like this for strolls whenever... life in the game gets a bit too exciting." For now, she dared not to elaborate that by 'exciting' she meant that she had seen a few dozen too many dead bodies in the last few game sessions, what with the war against murderous machines and all.
