There has been a lot going ever since Wintersday. World ending cataclisms and destruction that spread across the world was one of many, and the whole internal conflict that occurred between Landers and Starcalled... Something that made things... Rather inflexible. Thankfully for Kyanna, her usual witch-y outfit almost acted as a camouflage, with clothes that seemed to belong this world much more than the usual Starcalled fashion that was so popular in Astorea.

With all these conflicts tossed aside, however, Kyanna had time to get connected with many people she had met along her journey. And one of them was @Kamala Graham, a cute and helpful lady that had saved her during an encounter with golden taxmen. Tyrants that dared to steal the few goods poor people had on them.

Kyanna remembered the girl telling something about having a farm, and she was quick to toss her a message as soon as possible, asking her for a visit, that was warmly accepted.

Setting a meeting spot near the farm, Kyanna soon found herself reaching that place, with a basket of sweet gifts and some flowers she had grown on her own. "Kamala!" Kyanna greeted cheerfully, rushing to approach the elf as soon as their eyes met. "It has been so long..!" She said, offering a hug if the other accepted it, before taking a step away and handing her the basket of goods. "Here, some pastries I've baked. I figured you and the other farmers would like it as a dessert for the lunch!" She said, with her gaze slowly turning to the farm that lingered at distance.

"So these are the Viridian Fields?" Kyanna asked, with eyes sparkling while seeing the farm slightly from afar, at least enough to have an ample sight of it. She rested a hand on her cheek, letting out a dreamy sigh. "It is so pretty..." She hummed, turning to look at Kamala with a bright smile.

Kamala heaved a sigh as she watched her fellow farmers go about their own ways. Something about the atmosphere in the Viridian Fields has changed. Maybe it was just her. Maybe it was because she had been away for so long that the new dynamics between people have become strange to her and would take some time to get used to. Or maybe it was because of what had happened not too long ago, with landers becoming far less trusting of people like her, people from another world.

It pained her a bit, for the mood to have changed so negatively. The idea behind the farm was for strangers to come together, work together, and become friends and, maybe even to an extent, family. But the magia stuff that had come and gone, maybe not even gone, really put a damper on everyone's mood. Kamala could understand where they were coming from, though. She has felt helpless before, scared of strangers with more power than her, and there will always be someone, or some ones, with more power than her, then them, than anyone else.

But maybe she was focusing on the wrong things. Maybe there was a solution to be found, a better option than just crying about spilled milk. Maybe—

"Kyanna!" As soon as Kamala caught a glimpse of the witch-y girl, her eyes lit up and she immediately ran to her for a hug, almost stumbling here and there with how uncoordinated and unathletic she was. "You're here!"

Stating the obvious was one of Kamala's glaring weaknesses, and although there were many, a lot of them were less unnecessary than this one. When her wide eyes caught sight of the delicious gift, she turned to the rest of the suspicious farmers, waving at them still with the warmest smile she could muster.

"My friend Kyanna brought dessert, everyone!"

The response wasn't warm. It wasn't even cold. They just...stared back, most of them murmuring with each other, and returned to what they were doing. A few did wave back, younger farmers, those who were more open to possibilities, more accepting of potential exceptions. Kamala focused her energy on them, wanting to focus more on the brighter side of things as per usual.

"Mm-hm!" Grinning from ear to ear, with her eyes disappearing in lines out of happiness, Kamala wrapped her arm around Kyanna's and led her closer to the farmhouse, which served as a lobby of sorts for everyone to rest up in between farming. "Thank you! My friends and I worked really hard on it! I mean, before... You know..."

The elf wasn't quite sure how to frame her thought. She didn't want to "badmouth" the farmers, even though she'd simply be just telling the truth. The landers have good reason to fear and be wary of them, as they always did. But she also didn't want to sound like she was picking sides. It was a tough spot to be in, in the middle of two conflicting sides, both of which she loved dearly.

"How are you? How's everything?"

So she tried, in the obvious way possible, to change the subject, even though she'd clearly benefit from talking about it with someone on the same boat.

Seeing Kamala stumbling, Kyanna stepped forward to shorten the distance of the run of the small elf girl, wrapping her in a tight hug and squeezing her softly along with a giggle. "Yes, yes. I'm here. I told you I would." She loosened the hug, looking at the elf's eyes with a small smile, not minding if that statement was obvious or not, only that her friend was happy for seeing her.

The reception for the pastries wasn't that hot, but that didn't stop Kyanna from showing a bright smile that shined as much as the sun and a hearty wave at the few who accepted her sweets, and beaming all the charm a young lady like her could muster.

If just a few were still willing to be friendly, Kyanna wanted them to give them the warmest first impression possible.

A giggle escaped from the witch's lips when Kamala wrapped an arm on her, and she followed along while reciprocating the gesture. "I see, you've been doing a great job. Everything here looks so shiny and pretty. Lively too!" Kyanna nodded eagerly, pushing away the bad thoughts. "It is a good paraside to be, in the middle of so much bad things happening... I'm sure you will grow a happy future with all of this." She encouraged the elf.

"I've been doing well, mostly. Things have been tough, but I'm trying to keep my friends as safe as possible. And well... I wanted to come visit you, one because I wanted to talk and learn more about you, and... For a couple reasons." She said, showing she had a handful of motives to be there.

With a wide smile, Kamala's eyes lit up at her friend's well wishes and compliments. None of them were doing this for those, for anything in return, but it was always nice to hear someone appreciate their efforts. The paradise was for everyone. Everyone was welcomed in their little farming haven. Hopefully, despite the current uneasiness between Travelers and Landers, all those would still hold true. If not, Kamala was more than ready to bequeath it all to those who truly needed it.

"Thank you! That's our hope!"

Kamala heaved a sigh, glad to hear that her friend was all right. They were all doing the best they could to keep the ones they loved safe. Maybe Kyanna was having even more success than her. Ayna was, after all, still MIA. All of the elf's messages have been ignored, both in the game and outside of it. Chrys was, well, he didn't really need to be kept safe. Elias, Samantha, and Leyna were all doing their respective things, though Altria's recent return was a good sign that they, too, would soon come back. For now, the elf could only keep a watch on her Lander friends.

"I'm sure you're doing a great job at keeping your friends safe! I've seen you in action. They're lucky to have you."

Surprise came to the elf in the form of Kyanna revealing she was there to learn from her. Learn what exactly? Kamala had never seen herself as a good teacher, an educator, someone who could teach anyone anything worth their time. She was a good hand, a good help, but she wasn't quite sure she could convey what she herself has learned from others in her own words.

"Oh? Hm, I don't think I'm a good teacher, though... What reasons?"

But maybe through experience? What else was there that Kamala could share with others? The elf wasn't sure she'd be this valuable. She barely considered herself a useful cog in the greater machine that was this world and even the other one.

Kyanna smiled at the elf's answer. To have hope was one thing, but to work actively toward it was something very admirable, and that warmed Kyanna's heart with joy to see that some people were so eager to do better things for the world, in mundane ways. Just destroying gigantic aberrations that threatened the world wasn't going to be enough to make things bright and prosperous.

A faint flush crossed Kyanna's cheeks at the compliment, but all that could come from her was a half nod. "I'm doing what I can... But I wouldn't say I'm doing a great job. Two friends of mine died twice, and I almost lost one, if it wasn't for the help of others." Kyanna admitted, letting out a brief sigh.

"We do what we can to help each other." She concluded.

Her head then tilted for a moment, letting out a giggle. "I'm sure it will be fine. Besides, you don't need to be a great teacher or anything. I mostly want to learn how to overgrow plants, and how to... Shapechange them." Kyanna said, before elaborating the reason behind it- "I plan to make some plant structures around Tangleweaves... Because I want to make a witch hut in there, without being too invasive to what already have in there." She explained.

"And well... With that, I could even try and produce some special plants, and grow some unique vegetables and fruits in there... And if you guys would have me, in Viridian Fields, I could bring those to here. If I find a way to preserve them enough." Kyanna said.

The elf related to the witchy girl very well. It seemed they were both doing the best they could under the circumstances, but neither of them felt like they were doing great. Maybe they were. In the grand scheme of things. But even then, the feeling was, at least for Kamala, she could have done more, she could have done better, she could have done something else. Maybe that was just the curse of the full-support player.

"Oh, that's so sad..."

Kamala frowned, her shoulders heavy with the weight of wanting to do something, to have done something, even though it was not her story to write. Even in this game, she felt a sense of despair, of gloom, at people dying, lander and traveler alike. Maybe because she felt it was her main role, her only role, to stop death from happening, even though that in itself was already a tall order. And she was just a small elf.

Kamala let out an embarrassed chuckle as she clasped her hands behind her back and played with the ground using just the tip of her small feet. It was a gesture she frequently but subconsciously employed whenever she felt anxious about disappointing a new friend she really wanted to win over.

"Plant...structures? I'm not sure I can do that. At least, not for more than just a few minutes or so. You see, my nature magic relies on finicky spirits, and everything they build with plants reverts to its original form after some time. So I can do this..."

The elf closed her eyes and willed a giant but illusory beanstalk to sprout underneath her, carefully raising her up to a great height. Well, as great as the second story of a farmhouse at least. Kamala waved at Kyanna from above before shouting the continuation of her thought.

"...but this whole thing will disappear again in a while."

If Kyanna had Spirit Magic, she would've seen the aforementioned spirits as something more than wisps of light green. Otherwise, there was nothing more than just a passing light show, no fluttering wings or whimsical laughter under stranger breaths.

"But you are always welcome here, my friend! Take what you need and take your time! I've also been planning to travel back to the Tangleweaves and meet with other friends, but the farm...needs me still."

There was sadness and pain in Kamala's voice as she looked toward the farm again. Even as she tried her best to look at the brighter side of things, she couldn't dare ignore the complications that the recent skirmish with the magias had brought to their paradise.

Kyanna slipped a sigh and shrugged with a faing smile, knowing it was sad, but at the same time having nothing she could do about it. Besides, it was on the past by now.

Her gaze fell on Kamala's stiffened expressions, and she couldn't help but muster a small smile, reaching for her shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. "I am sure what what you did, in a way or another, helped. Don't let it get on your mind too much." She nodded, certain.

When the elf admitted that she wasn't sure of what to do about Kyanna's idea, the witch nodded, understanding it was a tall order.

It didn't stop her from admiring the growing sprout, however, perking up and becoming jumpy at the gigantic plant that was growing temporarily. "Woah! It is so big, so big!" She chirped with a giggle, before turning and looking at Kamala, reaching for her hands and taking them together.

"It is fine, very fine!" Kyanna nodded eagerly. "If you want, we can go to Tangleweaves together. Travelling alone is never good anyway." She suggested.

Her gaze the turned around, looking at the fields before returning to lock on Kamala's again. "Why don't you show me around then? It seems like our magic lessons are cancelled, but I still intended to spend the day with you." She said, squeezing the elf's hands with sparkly eyes.

Kamala tried her best to muster a warm smile for Kyanna's sake but the lingering, nagging thoughts of her failures continued to weigh heavy on her head, on her shoulders. She had one role, and that was of support, and she'd fail her friends, her closest friend especially. Just the same, this paradise was supposed to be neutral grounds, but she had been too certain that no cracks would ever form around its figurative walls against outside negativity. Now, she's failed to hold that true, too.

"Thank you... I'll try."

Still, a friend's supportive words were greatly appreciated by the elf, and when a shared trip to the Tangleweaves was mentioned, Kamala's face brightened, her eyes widening in excitement and happiness! She almost forgot about the Fields needing her, though maybe in the near future, once all of her concerns were settled, that could change. She could once again make that long-awaited journey to the place that had once been home after her first death.

"Oh, I'd love that! But, of course, for now, come! I'll show you the farmhouse first!"

Kamala wrapped an arm around the witchy girl's and led her toward the main farmhouse that was bustling with activity. Even outside, in front of its massive wooden doors, farmers were interacting with each other, talking over each other, with varying warmth and appreciation of the appearance of the two girls.

There were wooden tables and makeshift stalls that resembled lemonade stands in the real world, except these stands had more refreshing water than actual lemonade. The tables had various snacks as well, mostly organic, made of the very fruits and vegetables they grew there.

Despite the rather awkward reaction of the other farmers, Kamala took a deep breath and tried to retain her smile, offering her visiting friend a drink and some snacks first before she'd take her inside.

"I'm sure your travels must've made you hungry and thirsty. Here, have a drink or a bite or two. I'm sorry for the rather strange welcome. People here have been...thinking a lot since...you know happened."

The young woman at the stall they approached was at least very kind, greeting them the warmest that they'd maybe get from a lander at this point in time. Then again, it was probably just because Kamala handed her Kyanna's baked pastries for everyone to enjoy. It was much easier to be nicer when you're getting something in return.

It wasn't hard to feel the sadness on the thanks the elf held, but the worst part was not knowing how exactly to make her feel better. As they stepped into the farmhouse, the glances they received once again slumped the mood of the small elf, and despite the apologies, the witch couldn't help but shake her head.

Kyanna tugged Kamala closer, and she smiled warmly to her friend. "Don't worry about any of that, I know how things are complicated lately." Her cheerful gaze softening in a bittersweet way. "But keep your mind on our fun. And if you ever need to talk to someone, my UI chat is always open to you." Kyanna said, noticing how hard the elf girl was taking everything. She couldn't know why exactly why, but the fact even her colleagues were looking at her with suspicious eyes was surely saddening.

After the reassurance and offer for vent, she took the snacks that were offered to her, offering her a brighter smile once again, always being spontaneous and jumping form a mood to another rather quickly.

Taking a sip of her drink, then following to take a bite of the snack, Kyanna felt a chill running through her, making her eyes grow wide as she looked at it. "This is so tasty! What's up with this?" Kyanna hummed, resting a hand on her cheek and giggling.

"I need to steal the recipe later~" Kyanna said, the rolling her gaze to Kamala. "My travels had been quite long lately, yeah. Turns out finding someone is much tougher than I expected." A faint sigh slipped her lips.

Kamala simply smiled and nodded at the witchy girl's attempt to put a positive spin on her worries and concerns. It's what she would have done herself, and weeks ago, it would've worked. But a lot has changed since then. She had lost a friend, her closest friend, and it just feels like she'd be losing a lot more in the days to come. For someone like Kamala, that was the worst that could happen to her.

"Thank you, Kyanna. That means a lot to me. It really does. I appreciate you and hope you know you can always talk to me as well."

When the witchy girl reacted positively to the food, Kamala's mood slowly made a more positive change as well. Food had always been something of a topic that never failed to lighten her mood, especially if it was her food or something she had a hand in making. In this case, she was the one who brought the idea of trying to farm what this world had that resembled spices from her home, from outside of the game.

"Oh, I'm glad you like it! Most of our food here uses spices that resemble those from...outside, so they're a lot more tasty and scrumptious than most, I believe! We're even trying to make our own version of curry here!" Kamala was very proud of that landmark achievement, even if it wasn't really an in-game achievement. All that mattered was it made her proud and happy, and sometimes, that's all there is to it. "We'll share it with you! And some spices, too!"

Kamala nodded, relating to how difficult travels can be sometimes in this world. Once a week, she'd travel all the way to Stokbon to help the farmers sell their crops. Sometimes, there'd be no crops to sell, so it'd be more of a supply run. It can be exhausting, but fortunately for her, and for her companions, she has her zither to break the monotony of travel.

"You should stay the night! Come, I'll show you the rooms!"

Kamala led her further inside the farmhouse, with its massive entrance hall bustling with activity. It had a hallway further leading to the right and another further leading to the left. In front of them was a giant staircase, also divided in two but leading to the same second floor. Further in front of them were two giant oak doors.

With a smile and a nod, Kamala lead her to the second floor, through the stairs to the right where a small hallway traveled around another staircase. A couple of farmers were moving in and out of different rooms, either trying to take a good rest or ready to do more work. Kamala grinned at Kyanna, hoping she didn't find the bustling activity too much.

Even if there was still hints of negativity lingering regarding the topic, Kyanna was certain Kamala could go through it... Even if it would take a long time for it. One couldn't allow to keep their heart drowning in sadness for too long. "If you are giving me the freedom to talk to you that much, I hope you won't regret it~" Kyanna giggled, hinting that she would certainly be abusing on the User Interface message system, though mostly to say hi and chit chat.

Kyanna perked up at the explanation, nodding a few times as Kamala explained a bit of how the creation process was regarding foods. "So it is mostly from outside? No wonder it has a familiar taste, but still... An intriguing one. These spices are wonderful, you must be a great cook outside too!" Kyanna said, speaking with less hesitation regarding the real world.

"Oh really? I can really stay?" Kyanna clasped her hands, smiling warmly. "It is still early, but... If I can really stay tonight, I shall get my things ready for here... Maybe we can even have a small pajama party, if you'd like?" She wondered. Granted, this wasn't a house, so she wasn't sure of how far out of etiquette it would be to do something like that in there.

Remaining close to the elf girl, Kyanna hummed, following along while her gaze darted around at full speed, wanting to spot every single activity that was occurring in the hall, which proved to be quite a challenge, considering everything that was happening all at once.

She nearly stumbled on a farmer, but she was quick to slip an apology, tugging her hat with a small bow and giggling while looking at Kamala.

"It is sure lively in here. I doubt you ever get bored, if it is like this every day."

It took Kamala a moment to realize what she perceived as an error in the conversation, a teeny tiny miscommunication, so she immediately tried to fix that, to clarify what she had meant. With both her familial and personal background in agriculture, farming and gardening, Kamala was able to utilize her Nature Magic to organically grow similar herbs and spices that would replicate the taste that she had grown up with, the taste that she knew her friends in this world would themselves grow to love.

"Oh, no, I meant we've been trying to replicate the same taste from the outside...you know, so we've been growing the same stuff, or at least the herbs and spices closest to them."

When the topic of cooking was broached, the elf blushed. She wasn't that bad when it came to preparing meals, but she never considered herself a great cook. Having grown up in a family of great home cooks, it was only natural for her to believe she was just decent, even if others would tell her that she was better than she often gave herself credit for.

"I try! Food brings people together, builds communities, and I've always loved doing all that and more!"

Kamala simply nodded at the question of staying. So many people stayed at the farmhouse, some she had never even met until they arrived, all now she's known as great folks, friends and family alike.

"Of course! Everyone's always welcomed here! And it is! Always! With so many people, so many personalities... And there's so many things to do like farming, harvesting, making sure crops are growing healthy and safe! It's just like home..."

She caught herself and omitted the part where she would've ended that line with "but better." The real world had its faults but it was still her home. It must be how the landers feel as well. Even if they'd try greener grass, different pastures, nothing feels the same as home. One would never want their home to be threatened or worse!

"Do you have a place in here where you frequently stay?"

"Oh-" Kyanna clasped her hands, nodding in understanding to Kamala's elaboration, and followed up with the deeper meaning behind the food Kamala was trying to make. "Still, its taste is wonderful, and I'm sure it is helping people to get together, in a way or another!" Kyanna beamed, certain that her small elf friend was doing a great job.

At the very least, her stomach and tastebuds were very pleased with what they met so far.

With the confirmation of her being able to stay, Kyanna perked up. "Just like home, huh? I will make sure you will be just as welcomed to my hut whenever I finish building it. It is a bit too far from here, but you can certainly treat it like another home for you." The witch said, happy to share some of her place with Kamala.

"Hmm... I never really stay somewhere. I'm always travelling, trying to find my mother." Kyanna crossed her arms, pensive for a moment before smiling.

"I just find whatever cave or treetop, and go up there to sleep when I need! Or if I'm at a town, I slip into an inn, if I have enough gold." She explained.

Kamala grinned. It was always good to receive compliments, especially when it came to her cooking. The idea was there, and she had worked hard to make sure that idea became reality, so whenever someone pointed that out without being prompted, it made her feel really good. To be fair, though, it has never been hard to make Kamala feel good about anything. Someone once called her shallow for it, but she thought it was still better than easily getting bitter at things she couldn't control.

"A hut? You're building a hut? I hope I could help you build it, but I'm not really that great with construction or anything like that. This farmhouse was built by someone else but they've already moved on."

A frown found its way on the elf's lips, though it wasn't any deeper than just her disappointment in not being able to help a new friend. She could make plants grow, trees reach great heights, but not permanently. At least not yet. And the idea of doing that just to chop them down? It wasn't at all appealing to her.

"But if you need food, fruits and vegetables, grain and others, you can always come here and ask! Also, if you need a place to stay, okay?"

Again, however, and just as quickly, her lips curled into another smile. The prospect of being able to help someone in her own little way was always there, just ripe for the taking, which meant Kamala was never long without a warm smile to share. She may not be good at building things that last, but she can be very useful in feeding those that were good at building things that last.

"Your mother?"

The elf titled her head to one side, a little confused. Did the witchy girl mean her mother from the real world? Did her mother come here to play and went missing? Kamala could relate. Someone she valued went missing after playing this game, too. That was why she began to play in the first place, though she has made zero progress on that front.

When questioned about the hut, Kyanna perked up, nodding eagerly.

"Yeah, I am! This is why I asked if you knew how to overgrow plants. I wanted to make it with overgrow roots and trees... So it wouldn't look too weird inside of Tangleweaves, and bother the animals too much." Kyanna elaborated, perhaps failing to do so before, and leaving Kamala unaware of her true intentions when she had asked for it.

"It is fine though, but then, you will need to compensate by visiting me~" She winked, giggling, and then smiling even wider at the welcoming invitation, clasping her hands together once again.

"I'd love to, this place is wonderful, and I hope I can help it as well. In a way or another." At that point, the latter was almost a catch phrase.

Asked about her mother, Kyanna nodded, with her expressions softening for a moment. "Yeah... My mother... Well, she got locked in here." Kyanna said, averting her eyes for a moment. "I'm not quite sure where she is, I've never played this game with her... She did it in secret, and we only found out when... Well..." She sighed, returning her eyes to Kamala.

"But I will find her, and when I do, I will show her this place and introduce you too, and many other wonderful places and people I'm getting to know!"

Kamala frowned. She felt like she had failed her new friend with the limitations of her magic. If only she had something to make her wish come true, but alas, all she had were illusions and patience.

With her skills in agriculture and her Nature Magic, she could still do it of course but it would take a lot of time, time that she may not have, all things considered. She still had to temper the strange atmosphere at the farm, and of course, try to find her magia friend.

"Oh, I see... I think I can still do that, but it would take a lot of time since I won't be able to do it with magic, only basic agriculture... But, yes! I would love to visit you! Hopefully, by then, all this weird, negative energy everywhere would be gone!"

It was a pipe dream, but it was a dream nonetheless. The aftermath of that battle with Szofrit, it wouldn't be gone in just one night. It would linger for weeks, most likely even months, culminating in dangerous paths ahead. Just like in real life when political upheaval was involved. Kamala could only sigh at that thought.

"Goodness! I hope you find your lost mother, Kyanna, and if there's anything I can do, anything at all, please don't hesitate to let me know!"

Kamala could empathize with Kyanna's loss, maybe not to such an extent, but definitely to an extent. Her determination was pretty contagious, too, and sooner than expected, the elf was feeling more determined as well to find her lost friend and do better at the farm. It was the least she could do at the moment. It was the least they could all do.

"Hopefully! I'm tired of all this sadness. We need more smiles, more sparkles, more sweets too! I should bake cookies at some point." She perked up, huffing in defiance at all the bad vibes that lingered in the air, be it from Landers that felt sour about Travelers, or Travelers that felt the unfairness lingering in their chest for having Landers treating them ill for had occurred...

Some of them seemed to be the small and friendly elf before Kyanna, that despite everything offered help.

Kyanna looked at Kamala, taking both of the elf girl's hands and squeezing them softly, looking at her with a fond smile. "Thank you, Kamy, you are a wonderful!" She beamed. "Just your words are already of great help. If you ever find someone that is missing a girl just like me, then I think that should be my mom!" Kyanna giggled, adjusting her hat and then tilting her head.

"And well, maybe I will drag you around in one of my adventures. four eyes are better than one to look for someone, right?" She giggled.

The thought of more sparkles and more sweets made Kamala feel warm and tingly inside. The imagery that sprung in her head harkened back to the good old days before all this commotion with Szofrit, back when she was just starting out. The simpler times were much easier to handle, less muddled and cluttered with all the politics that has now seeped out of the darkest corners where they once hid. But that was just life, wasn't it? Things always changed, and sometimes, for the worst.

"Oh, that all sounds so lovely!"

The elf smiled, eyes disappearing into themselves, when the witchy girl held her hand and squeezed them. She tried to do the same but failed, not wanting to force their way out of the other's clutches. When Kyanna burst into a fit of giggles, however, Kamala took her chance but ended up giving her a salute instead, a look of determination on her tiny elf face.

"No, you're wonderful! And I'll be sure to do what I can! Will definitely keep an eye out, or two, for a mom missing a daughter!"

Although Kamala believed in her heart of hearts that such a quest could be done, there was the lingering thought of how hard that may actually be. This world was big, bigger than she herself had expected, and she, too, was having no luck finding her own missing person. But Kyanna might be right about one thing: It's always better to have friends on your side than to do things alone.

"You'll always find another pair of helping hands in me, Kyanna!"

The way Kamala suddenly went all formal and determined made Kyanna perk up.

"Ooohoho, so serious!" Kyanna giggled, leaning away and saluting as well, making a determined and focused expression as well. "Good good, private Kamy, the grand witch Kyanna is very pleased for your help!" She said in a silly play, before leaning in and smiling more genuinely and warmly.

"Really. Thank you..." She said, taking a deep breath to recollect her feelings and not end up being too emotional, clasping her hands together as a light bulb popped above her head.

"But if you are telling me that I have a pair of helping hands on you, what if you help me with those cookies I talked about then? I wonder if you have any special recipe for those- We could make some, because it seemed like the others smiled a bit more when they knew we had some sweets for them!" Kyanna felt that, perhaps, these small kind gestures would at least make her lovely friend to be treated well, instead of being lumped together with the mess that had caused.

The thought of baking made Kamala's eyes grow wide in excitement, her pupils shining, shimmering. The elf loved to bake and cook, mostly cook, though baking came as a close second. While she usually loved to cook because it allowed her to feed a lot of people with love and joy and happiness in one or two sittings, baking mostly did the same but at a much shorter time frame.

"Oh, yes, of course! Come! Follow me to the kitchen! Hopefully, no one's using it at this time."

Without even waiting for a proper response, Kamala grabbed Kyanna's hand and led her through the many halls of the strangely complicated interior of the farmhouse. They passed several other farmers, most of which were surprised at barely avoiding the smaller pair, while a few groaned and rolled their eyes at these Starcalled. Or elf. It was hard to tell.

While Kamala's status as a Starcalled was pretty known throughout the farm, she hasn't really admitted it out loud. The facts have never escaped her lips but it was pretty obvious in the way she took to everyone and everyone took to her during her earliest days here. That and she was introduced way back as a fallen star. It didn't take rocket science to piece two and two together!

But, even as Kamala wanted to portray the farm as a paradise for open-minded people, it didn't really have that requirement. As a sanctuary that welcomed everyone who needed the space, some of the folks here did come with their own biases and prejudices. Kamala tried her best to ignore all of that, but she's heard whispers of a couple of humans that weren't really that friendly toward the elves. Still, they bit their tongue and caused no trouble, so it was an uneasy relationship.

"Hello! Will you take long in here?"

When they arrived at one of the kitchens, they came across a pair of humans that were in there. As soon as the male saw them, however, he frowned, elbowed the female with him, and both left in a huff, without even a single goodbye to Kamala and her friend. It was a hurtful welcome, especially with all the things that had happened recently, but the small elf tried her best not to alarm her guest, pretending all was fine. All would be fine, anyway, especially when they get to baking those cookies!

"...I guess not... So, what do we need for those cookies of yours, Kyanna?"
