She worked hard to guide Luna through the process, it was a bit taxing and difficult for Lucia to lead someone in the creation of this sort of thing. By the time she finished with Luna, she was a little worn out, though smiling gently while supporting the exhausted girl from the back. "Okay, with that you should be all set. It's just a starting point, but from now on you should be able to make great use of the star to grow and use your magical abilities. From there it's just all about applying them to your normal movements." She tried to reassure, proud of the hard work she put in at the very least.

"Do you think you can move?" She'd ask trying to urge Luna to sit up if she was ready. She wasn't worried about being attacked in the bright zone of trees, but that didn't mean the Matriarch wasn't still lurking somewhere out there waiting for them. In the end she would try to help Luna up and even pick a fruit with a gesture, clearly not as worried about them as she was about the flower. "You should take a few fruits as well, they should help stabilize your little star realm." She offered, using one of Mortimer's knives she kept handy for fruit peeling for Luna.

She'd spend some time offering Luna slices of fruit, being delicate in her carving. Though her technique wasn't nearly as good as Mortimer's, she at least hoped Luna would appreciate her willingness to cut them herself for her until she was ready to go.

It was a great deal of effort and concentration for Luna to manage to take in the energy of the flower, a great deal of meditation that Lucia had guided. Once all was said and done, both of them were quite worn out and needed a chance to relax and take a breather, the tigress panting as she wiped away beads of sweat that had formed on her forehead from the intense concentration. "Right. Thanks a lot for your help with that. I'll try to see if I can wrap my head around this and figure out what I'm supposed to do from here. I can feel it burning inside, like a star, so I'm pretty sure it all went well."

She sat up as Lucia urged her to, before pushing herslef to her feet, grunting and groaning as she felt her legs tingle from the numbness of having sat in meditation for too long. Though she was then handed a peeled fruit by Lucia, the beastkin woman smiling as she bit into it and felt the energy filling her and restoring her. It was strange to think that absorbing energy had been so tiring, but that level of concentration had really worn her out.

After she'd snacked on a few fruit, she turned to Lucia with a nod and a smile. "Okay then. I'm ready to leave when you are. Are we running, or trying to sneak our way back?"

Tilting her head back, Lucia had certainly considered sneaking or running. If they used Morgana or Alice it probably wouldn't be too hard to get out of the woods fast, though it might stir up the locals they'd be better protected at the same time. Without the risk of them braving the bright zone of the woods and attacking them during Luna's meditation it didn't matter how riled up they got. Despite that, Lucia did have some ideas of her own, flashing a warm almost teasing smile, after all, while the Matriarch was a threat, it wasn't like it was an impossible one. "We could rush back if you want... Or we could get just a little revenge for some fun~" She offered.

If Luna was concerned about others intervening, Lucia would try to calm her down, it was rare for them to gather in large numbers where there was light, they could surely draw the matriarch in and away from her spawn on this side of the woods. "That's only if you'd like to give things a little test though." She offered leaving it up to the beastkin girl. If she wanted to go the safer route, Lucia wouldn't complain, but the matriarch by itself seemed manageable provided they worked together.

Hearing the idea that they could get a little revenge, Luna blinked. Normally she wasn't a vengeful person in any case, but it wasn't all that often that her skin was stripped off of her body by highly pressurized liquids either, so today seemed like it was going to be a first all around as she couldn't stop the grin that crept across her face. It was probably pretty unsightly and maybe even a little unsettling, but the thought of beating back the thing that had badly hurt her was too hard to keep herself from smiling at.

"Normally I'm the kind of person that would argue against revenge...but I think that I want to get rid of that thing after it hurt me like that." Luna hummed, nodding. She wanted to walk the path of revenge and take it down, just this one time. With Lucia here with her, she was pretty certain that they wouldn't fail and they could bring down this matriarch thing.

"It'll probably be a good idea to test out what that has done with mt powers, anyway." Would it have even made that much of a difference? Luna wasn't too sure, but it was worth finding out. "So how do we lure the big one into here if they don't like light?"

Lucia chuckled, seeing the smile on her face she reached a hand out to pet her to stop her from thinking too many dark thoughts. Stroking her hair as she spoke in a soft reassuring voice. "It's okay, at least, this part is more game-like right?" She tried to offer, after all, while they both took the game very seriously, it was still a place where Lucia came to be complete, happy and healthy mentally. If she was too serious naturally it wouldn't be healthy, and while she was weary about the risks involved with the mass of bodies lurking out in the woods, where they currently were was a safer zone, and they had a means to escape now that Luna's objective was completed.

When Luna seemed to be into it though, Lucia nodded along. "It'll be a nice exercise at least, it should be manageable with our abilities." Lucia explained, though she wasn't sure how much of a shift Luna would feel in her own ability, the most important part is comfort and ease of use. For Lucia that had been the most important part since using the UI or relying on the game to move. "We'll try to meet it on the edge, it'll come if we make some noise. The Little ones won't come closer to the light though." Lucia offered with a small smile, once more trying to stroke her head to make sure her partner wasn't too bloodthirsty.

"Right. I guess it's the one thing that can be abused like normal games can. Like the ones we've played where we stand outside of the boss rooms and shoot arrows through a gap in the invisible walls to kill the boss before it can even activate." Luna nodded. She'd definitely feel safer if there was something that they could abuse to their advantage here, such as an exploit or even just something in the monster's AI that they could exploit for their own benefit, such as a behavioural pattern or something along those lines. Luna normally didn't like to take risks, but she always felt stronger with Lucia.

Though with a plan in place, Luna nodded and gave Lucia a smile as the woman tried to stroke her head. "Alright. Do you have any advice for how I should fight, going off of what I did wrong last time? I don't want to be caught off guard and vulnerable like that again if I can avoid it, because that thing's attacks really hurt and I don't like the feeling of my skin being stripped off of my flesh using pressurized water, or whatever that weird black liquid they could spit was."

Lucia couldn't help laughing a little at the comparison. Though it wasn't exactly the same, she wouldn't necessarily call it an exploit as opposed to varying vulnerability levels it wasn't technically far off. "It's just a bit more resistant then the little ones because of it's age." She tried to explain the exploit The older they got, the more the fog on their bodies would turn from gas into a liquid then into a hardened chitin surface almost. It made them less vulnerable to the light but not necessarily immune to it. They might brave the starlights for a snack but wouldn't simply wander in of their own accord. Lucia tried her best to explain it if it wouldn't take too much time to go over.

When asking about advice on how to fight it. Lucia rubbed her chin in thought considering it's abilities briefly. "If we get unlucky it'll hurt us hard with it's opening shot, the pressurized wave is stronger then it's normal moves. Keeping it's SP down is important like any boss, so I'll be counting on you for that." She spoke flashing a smile at Luna. Though as she got deeper into the strategy she'd furrow her brows. "If you heal, we should heal at the same time for maximum healing power. If we both protect each other until we need to worry about Healing and SP then I think it'll be easy?" Lucia offered thinking it was a sound strategy.

The Matriarch was naturally an obviously beefy foe, but it's greatest advantage was it's sludge wave, tongue and spawning, without the Spawning it wasn't as scary. While that didn't mean it would be an easy task, it would be something they should be able to pull off when Luna was ready.

That did make sense. If the Matriarch was older than the little ones, it would be less vulnerable to the light and therefor actually able to enter the clearing in search of food, which was what the two women would be to the Matriarch, if it could manage to catch and beat them, though Luna had no intentions of being caught or becoming lunch today if she could manage to avoid it. "Right, that makes sense. We can lure it here because it will deal with the light for a short while if it thinks it can get a meal out of it."

Though the advice about fighting was helpful. Lucia was correct in saying that they should not leave an opening early into the fight, before she got further into the strategy and furrowed her brows, mentioning that they should both be protecting each other and that she'd be relying on Luna to strip the thing's SP. Luna nodded. "Okay, yeah. I think I'm ready for round 2 then. Should we head to the edge and just make a bunch of noise or something like that?"

"That's right." She praised with a smile, reaching a hand up to her head to pet her again. She followed along with the things she taught her well, but Lucia had long come to expect Luna to be able to follow along with her explanations. It was something she often thought about when lecturing others, her partner didn't let her be frustrated at least. She made her best effort to give Luna all the advice she could until the girl felt ready to proceed.

When Luna was ready, she'd pet her head once more before turning towards the direction they entered from. Seeing her knight waiting by the tree line where they crossed into the light area. Giving a nod to her knight, the Wight Queen began to trudge out into the woods. The knight answering in place of Lucia as she turned. "I'll go out and find them with Mortimer. When we find it we'll guide it here." The Wight Queen offered before turning into the woods to begin her work as a hunting party.

It would take a good while for the creature to arrive, confused and perplexed as it seemed to have lost it's target, chasing phantoms and creatures through the woods it thought was food. As it tried to hunt however, it's target seemed to keep disappearing, leading it through trees on a wild goose chase. If the creature were intelligent enough to be angry it would no doubt be fuming by the time it finally arrived not far from the lit portion of the woods. It wasn't quite in sight yet, but was close enough to be heard stamping around as it's hind section whipped about.

Luna had always done her best to try to absorb as much knowledge as she could possibly get from the people that agreed to teach her. And Lucia had taught her a lot, so she always listened attentively to the woman whenever she was giving a lecture or trying to explain a concept to Luna. She didn't always get it. Like many people, she had things that she was good at and things that she wasn't so good at. But for now, the concept seemed fairly simple and the plan seemed like it was one that didn't have much chance of going wrong.

So she nodded as Lucia's undead went off as a searching party, silently steeling herself for battle. And when they could finally hear it, Luna took a deep breath, reaching inside of her for that newly formed core, that origin point, a bright star.

And unleashed it's energy as the Matriarch emerged. Even emerging into a place of shining fruit, the light that emanated from Luna shone brighter yet, like the brightest star in the sky, this aura of starlight pulsing off of her body and radiating outwards.

Seeing Luna getting into it, Lucia nodded, proud, and happy with her efforts she definitely believed the girl was going to shine brighter as time passed. She couldn't help exhaling to some extent wondering if things might have been a little different if Luna had been so passionate before. She tried not to dwell on it though, it would be difficult fighting if she was so distracted with memories. She tried to guide Sylvanas back, after a while of leading the creature around, the knight would naturally circle back after a time. Though unable to catch up too quickly after having evaded it for so long, her attack was off. The spear thrown tore off a layer of flesh but forced Sylvanas to charge further to retrieve it rather then returning to Lucia's side.

The Matriarch naturally retaliated when it was being attacked. Ready to rear back and spray it's massive hoard of vomit in a pressurized wave, it was however interrupted, before it could release the attack the sudden flash of light made it squeal as it turned it's head and instead vomited the liquid in a non-pressurized form from both discomfort and sensory overload. As if wracked with searing pain it couldn't quite deal with.

Unfortunately, while it managed to make the creature ruin it's heavy opening attack, it didn't stop it from retaliating as it closed most of it's eyes save for two and instead turned it's attention on Lucia after the spray of liquid it swung it's tail, digging through the soil lashing at the Priestess in retaliation for the hit from the undead knight.

Seeing the Matriarch swing its tail at Lucia in retaliation, even though she was the one that had blinded it, Luna growled, her stance widening as she sunk into the stance that Mortimer had taught her, before her exploding, radiating aura began to condense around her once again, flaring outwards before being sucked back towards her, like a jet of plasma being ejected from a star, only to be caught by its gravity and sucked back towards it.

It washed over the Matriarch twice, before it began to condense around both Lucia and Luna, as Luna focused her aura on protecting the two of them from the creature's attacks. It would need a moment or two to recharge its bigger attack, so she could exploit that to keep the two of them protected for longer.

The tail had been painful, the beast likely tracking the damage from Sylvanas back to her making her frown heavily. Even if it had been seared by the light, the damage to it's body was still dealt by her. "Sylvanas." She asserted again making sure that the knight would take care of Luna as well. Protecting each other would lead to better results. Unfortunately even while coordinating with Luna and her knight though her spell would be wiffed slightly, while it was the story of her life, she was at least doing numbers enough to protect Luna for now.

The creature continued to flail, the more light built up but again, the sudden flying spell of fate magic would carve deeper as strings bit into it's flesh then the searing light would burn away more of it's body. The creature this time swinging one of it's hands swatting Sylvanas back causing the knight to crash into a tree. While it had disturbed her footing, the knight quickly recovered knowing her damage would transfer to Lucia, Sylvanas tried to be more on guard after being struck.

The creature in it's fury though would be so overwhelmed by the constant flashes of light and the pain of the attacks though that it would charge towards Luna and Lucia. So unused to being hunted, as an apex predator of the woods it didn't deal well with the sudden offensive and in it's charge left itself vulnerable.

The creature once again continued to charge and swipe at things with its tail, trying to ward away Sylvanas' strikes and retaliate towards Lucia, though Luna could see that it was struggling to cope with this fight, surrounded by the light and being seared by it. Luna hummed, watching the monster for a moment, sharp eyes starting to pick it apart as her Beastkin blood began to boil and pump, Luna able to hear the beating of her own heart in her ears.

And then she took a deep breath, before an aura of chi exploded out of her again, washing over Lucia and Sylvanas harmlessly, but when it reached the Matriarch, it would burn and singe it, crushing it down like heavy gravity, tiny little motes of stardust clinging to the creature, sapping energy from it and then using that energy to burn it.

"I think we're doing it!" Luna smiled, reaching for one of Lucia's hands and clutching onto it.

Lucia nodded, it was a good sign the creature seemed to be getting toppled and flustered. Whether it was from the light or the pain, Lucia couldn't quite tell from it's actions but it could even be both. Regardless of what it was she welcomed the chance. Feeling Luna reaching out towards her, she smiled and held her hand out as well to hold onto Luna as long as the girl needed. "Just a little bit further... I might switch with you if it keeps getting rougher though." Lucia explained knowing her HP was taking hits every time Sylvanas or her was hit. Though Lucia unfortunately wasn't doing particularly well in the battle as her blow grazed the creature again just barely holding it's attention

The more Luna bathed it in light, the more it seemed to writhe and struggle. The grazing blows however naturally began to accumulate and at the end managed to carve a slit across it's rooted mouth taring it open. The creature with a torn mouth couldn't make the shape required to create water pressure to spray or vomit up as a weapon. It caused the creature to squeal wildly as it spat liquid unable to retaliate with it's volatile spray. Though it was still alive and strong enough to fight without it's main weapon it was certainly a great deal weaker.

Knowing that Lucia shared pain and health with some of her summons, Luna was beginning to get worried, even as Lucia took her hand, just as she'd taken Lucia's. They were doing decently at chipping this thing down, but Lucia was starting to look a little rough and Luna couldn't help but allow worry to take over her body for a few seconds, flicking through her inventory and equipping the prototype gauntlet that she'd shown Lucia, back at her camp. The rusted, scrap-metal glove had a glass compartment built into it, filled with glowing stardust.

With a motion of her hand, a syringe popped out of the wrist of the gauntlet, creaking and cracking as it got stuck, before she slid it into Lucia's arm and focused. Lucia would feel a warmth flowing into her arm, restoring her health and energy.

To Luna's dismay, the syringe cracked and split, losing most of the stardust that she was pumping into Lucia.

"Crap. Looks like my prototype has a few flaws. I'm sorry Lucia!"

Lucia chuckled at her partner shaking her head as she tried her best to heal her. "Don't worry, if there's one thing I'm good at it's putting myself back together at least. You did great." She'd try to encourage Luna not to be discouraged about her technology, there was plenty of time to blueprint and workshop, it might just have been harder to manage or contain the power now that it was involved with her new power after all. Lucia wouldn't expect a perfect result right away from Luna, but knowing she was striving made her proud.

"Sylvanas, I'll count on you to keep defending." Lucia spoke, causing the knight to try and be the barrier between them again, even if Lucia took damage from her hits, not being thrown off her balance and distracted from the battle was plenty extra work.

The matriarch seemed disturbed by the sudden surge of healing. Though it couldn't completely understand exactly how powerful it had been, it was clear it's prey that had been gradually weakening had seemed completely refreshed to new suddenly. With a wail it tried to charge again in anger, but clashed with Sylvanas in the process, pushing the knight but with the woman's heels dug into the ground the matriarch didn't make it too far towards Luna and Lucia.

Whether or not it had been the changes and improvements to her power that had thrown off her gadget's ability to heal Lucia or not, Luna still felt a bit bad, though at the very least, it didn't look like her invention had hurt the woman, so that was good. It was, of course, a massive waste of stardust and she was going to have to spend some time gathering some more of that, but that was far better to the alternative of causing Lucia pain.

Though with that, Lucia seemed to be able to heal herself, maybe using Luna's own healing to jumpstart herself, so Luna felt comfortable in allowing her aura to flare out again, spreading out around the two of them, tiny motes of starlight swirling around them, wrapping around Lucia like a protective dress of stars, whilst light lanced and whipped out, ripping against the Matriarch's body.

Lucia nodded along with Luna's efforts to continue damaging, hoping that they would be able to wear the creature down soon at least to a point where it would cripple itself again. "I suppose I should get others involved, the matriarch would make good materials if it's this resilient." Lucia mused, considering her current project she was working on back at the camp. Stretching her hand to one side finally drawing her weapon, her swiveling rings. The pitch black rings levitated above her palm and began to rotate like a gyroscope as she turned her palm letting the rings float downward before splitting apart to make a complicated formation. "Alice." She spoke, trying to call a secondary summon even as Sylvanas swung her spear again to try and divert the creature's attention.

Being attacked once more, the creature flailed, throwing it's head towards Sylvanas to try and thrust her back again. The light and the damage from the physical attacks gradually growing too great. It opened it's mouth to try and vomit up it's special attack, a different one compared to the first one, perhaps a more dangerous one, but the liquid only poured out of it's mouth harmlessly from it's earlier injury. Squealing, whining wondering why it's body was deteriorating, not intelligent enough to understand it's condition thoroughly. In anger, it spun wildly trying to thrust Sylvanas and Luna back, but only managing to hit the Knight who protected Lucia.

Luna watched in glee at Lucia's proclamation, realizing that she was going to get to see another one of Lucia's summons, one that she'd not yet seen or had the chance to meet, so she was super excited to find out what it was going to be. Given that they were fighting some kind of huge beast, her money was on some kind of undead sumo wrestler, or perhaps some kind of undead mage or some kind?

Her predictions were nearly always wrong. Instead, though, she decided she would keep focusing her aura around Lucia to help mitigate the damage that the woman was taking whenever the Matriarch hit Sylvanas, aiming to keep them both in the fight for longer, whilst her gauntlet slowly began to refill with stardust from her very own internal star, the tigress quickly fiddling with the syringe system, trying to repair it, in case Lucia needed her help with healing again.
