The young faerin was one who kept a low profile. She didn't stand out, she wore plain clothing to blend in with the people of Honeyhome, the first town she had stumbled across upon arriving and just... Never decided to leave. While the world marched on around her, while others marched on epic quests and journeys to other lands, this little faerin decided to live a simple life. The life of a fisher. Sure, she was a somewhat rare sight among the villagers, but those who knew her would come to find a sweet girl. She didn't talk of her original home much but it hardly mattered. She seemed to just... Enjoy going out and fishing at the Blue Rapid during the day, coming back for lunch and heading back out a few hours later.

Ishtara had known that the so called "Starcalled", something that she was, had suddenly become unwelcome among those who were native, at least in certain circles, but she had been here for a year now at the very least and had tried her best to simply blend in to the crowd...

It was today, while she was out at the Blue Rapid, fishing once again, that fate... Would have other plans. What those plans were as of yet were... Unknown. So she, unbeknownst to her fate would sit at the edge of the river, and fish, humming a gentle tune to herself to pass the time.

_____How long had it been since Morpheus, rather Alexander was in good enough health to go and actually enjoy some fishing? Hand running along his beard as he could only recall a fragment memory from the days of his youth watching his father fish. He never had much interest in the sport as some called it but he was at the age in his life he'd give everything a try to find something less 'stressful' to his heart, thus was his reason of coming out to fishing spot with a net but no pole.

"Oh, Seems this fishing spot is already taken?"

_____Morpheus would look to the young woman as he slung the weighted net over his shoulder while tapping the cane against the ground to keep his balance from the impact. Opening one of his eyes a bit more to see the person more clearly and tried to get a read on them as Star called or lander, not that he cared much for either or as they both stood as people in his books. If the girl told him it was taken he would go pace some distance away to go fishing with his net that looked more fit for fighting a bear or something.

Ishtara's head tilts a bit towards the man that had decided to show up. Not exactly taking the place as her own. "It's open if you wish to fish, I can move my line." She says, her hands going to grab her basket of already caught fish. She made no real motions of whether or not she was Starcalled or Lander.

"As long as ya don't treat me wrong, I'll be fine with ya here." She smiles and casts her line again. She'd already caught a few fish in her basket.

_____Morpheus could only raise his eyebrow at the comment, did the girl tend to have trouble with people to the point she needed to mention it? Adjusting his net to get ready for a toss as he considered what to say on the matter or if he should speak at all about it. Talking to people always was more his wife's thing as he was far to brash and unable to dial himself back.

"I don't see why I'd treat you wrong? Here to fish not make waves... less you count net fishing to make waves.~"

_____A small chuckle escaped his lips as he slammed the cane into the ground so it would stand by itself before slinging the net off his shoulder in a spinning motion to do a quick three sixty turn and let go of the net to watch it sail in the air for a bit before it came crashing down into the water and sank like a metal net would and the old man could not help but try and make another bad joke.

"Oh good, it does sink..."

_____Morpheus would look at his hands, then back over to the spot the net was cast, watching as the rope began to sink. Blinking a few times before he bellowed with laughter at forgetting to hold the line when he cast it out. Shifting some as he tried to recall how to get the UI to open before just stomping his foot to summon a diagonal pillar of divine magic to shot the net back to himself.

"Forgot to hold the line... used to games that just auto did that sort of thing Ha-ha."

Ishtara watches him for a moment as he cast the net into the water, her head tilting to the side to watch as he didn't hold the line... But decided not to make the comment just yet. "People can be rather mean when they see a faerin out on her lonesome." She smiles as it was stated he wouldn't do anything of the sort. But then there was also the next thing she heard that was interesting. Ishtara's ears moved back a bit as he began laughing, and there was an obvious jump from the pillar of divine magic along with a squeak of surprise from the girl.

"A-ah! You ah... you what? Games?" Ishtara asks with a bit of confusion in her voice. "Sorry, games that... auto did that sort of thing? What do you mean by that even?" She asks, her head tilting to the side.

Ishtara slowly went back to fishing, pulling her line up... Most the fish having been scared off by the pillar.

"Ah my apologies, I'm a think 'star called' is the title we got given? Back when I took time to do fishing they sort of 'assisted' to make things less complex I'd guess one might say."

_____Morpheus took the time untangling his net to speak the words. Either the person was very into character or was what most the others called 'landers'. Not like he would pay that much mind as it just meant he would need to explain some of his words a bit more and be more understanding if they did not understand some of the things he said. Adjusting his stance for another toss, this time keeping a firm grip on the rope as he would speak up again.

"Not to be rude, miss Faerin but Where I came from I have lived long enough to see many 'fangs' of people bared to those who are different, be it skin tone, where they come from, who the love, what they enjoy doing. I chose not to judge people for these things Nor will this old soul make a racket or fuss unless you give me reason to dislike you not all like you."

_____Morpheus adjusted his Kimono as he spoke holding the rope. He himself had plenty of Kids, grand kids, great grand kids all who liked different things, did things differently, to him the whole discriminations thing was a bunch of hog wash. Looking over to the faerin as it dawned on him he had yet to introduce himself and tapped his head with his free hand.

"Where are my manners, The name is Morpheus, Most people either call me Mr. Mo, or five G, there are a few that called me old fart but a few smacks of the cane taught them to respect their elders properly."

Ishtara had been very careful with her words. She didn't want to be found out as a Starcalled because of the recent events happening all over, she liked the quiet life even if there were a few people that were rude. Sure, grand adventures were cool but... What if she got killed!?... "I thank you for not wishing to do so upon me. It is mostly the authorities that bother around here at the moment, but it's not so bad if they're gone." She flashes a small fanged smile.

Her name was almost a dead give away of what her true origins were. Maybe. But she would give it anyway. "Ishtara. Some people call me Tara." She bows her head softly to the man. "It is nice to meet you, Morpheus. Though... Five G? Is an odd nickname." Ishtara's eyes scanned him over. He seemed like a stronger player given what she had seen him just do that casually... She stood up as she pulled her line in, watching his net now.

"Not exactly an odd nickname where I had come from. I have great, great, great grand kids and used to play games with them all the time despite my bad health. So they used to always call me 'Great great great gamer grandpa or five G for short."

_____Morpheus spoke as he held the net's rope, though it only took a brief moment before the elderly man rapidly moved to grab it with both hands rushing on his feet not to possibly snare the faerin with what he had started to notice. One of his racial traits pointing as the net's line had not only started to move but rapidly and pointed in the direction it was going. While he did not always trust the shadows to help his gut told him this was one of those times.

"I'll need to cut our little chat or set in on Pause Miss Tera, seems my net has angered something it should not have, or maybe it was the divine magic pillar..."

_____Morpheus would stop speaking when the head of the creature broke the surface. The massive hybrid between Eel and Koi shot up from the water, the net resting part way in it's mouth and a large bruise on it's head likely from the old man's magic as the two seemed to have a silent exchange of sort before it would spin and submerge again. Morpheus digging his feet into the ground as he would spawn another divine magic pillar to give him a foot hold.

"I do need to ask, what does one do in the event your line does catch something? My father when he took me with him fishing never caught much or anything to my memory so this is all new to me..."

_____Morpheus was utterly calm as he spoke, looking over to the faerin who had more knowledge about fishing them him judging from the bucket she had. To him his life was not in danger, so he had no real reason to be on edge or nervous just yet, muscles tensing as he would start to get pulled forward but just as quickly pull back on the line to keep the 'Koil' around until he knew what he was doing from here.

"... Wait what is tha- Eep!" Ishtara jumped back, falling on her rump at the appearance of the... 'koil'...? Her eyes wide, she'd never dealt with one of these before! She's only truly gone after small fish, using bait that would hook a small lil thing rather than going for a large fish like this! The hell even is this? Looked like an eel of some sort. Ishtara didn't even know those lived in this river! Ishtara began to crawl backwards, she didn't know how to deal with this fish. But here he was, the elder asking her questions about such a thing!

"Uhhh... T-typically the goal... i-is to get it out of water so it dies from lack of oxygen or to make it easier to kill it yourself." Ishtara says as she tried to stand up. She wasn't much of a fighter, still essentially level one in all regards. What could she do to help? "Uhhh... I-I don't think I'll be much help with this one... I'm rather... weak."

"Oh don't worry to much about being a help if you don't wanna help Miss Tera, While I might not look it I can keep at least one person other then myself rather safe. Could be good practice if you do wish to chip in but I won't force you to do more then advice on how to fish. Now then, get it out of the water..."

_____Morpheus tipped his head some as one could almost see the smoke from his ears as the gears grinded to think of ways to get the large 'Koil' to come out and be on land. Shrugging as he would allow himself to get dragged a bit while pulling a foot upward to sumo stomp the ground as Divine magic would pushed against the creature and send it back to the surface and soon into the air.

"I do have a question for you Miss Tera, Why are fish so gullible?"

_____Morpheus grinned as the fish slammed to the ground beside him. Moving himself to face it as he would slam his other foot to the ground to form a divine magic cage around the fish and rushed in as the final part was forming to trap himself in with it. Afterall the faerin did say to make it easier to kill so he figured it was proper to make it a cage match, him vs the 'Koil'. If he got no response from the Faerin, or the 'wrong' one he would give her the answer to his terrible joke.

"Because they fall for things Hook, line, and sinker~!"

_____Morpheus gave the very suiting 'dad joke smile' as he chuckled at his own humor. Arm pulling a fin of the fish to keep it away from the small bit of water that had been caught in the cage of divine magic. A bit of bait to keep it from getting to angry or focused on him to get rid of the obstacle. Stiffing his own laugh to focus on the fight at hand, man vs fish!

Ishtara watches the old man warily... He could do a lot of damage all on his own. She still doesn't really know how to fight and something this dangerous seems... Like a bad idea to start with? She certainly doesn't want to die! Not when she's only done fishing in this game! Yeah, the combat looked cool but she wanted to play it safe. Ishtara takes a few nervous steps backwards as Morpheus raised his foot to stomp on the ground and sent a pillar right into the 'koil'. She backed up against the tree as the makeshift cage match was created around the area. Thankfully not trapping her within. That would be bad.

Of course, Ishtara heard Morpheus speak, but she was still too in shock at the display to really answer his grandpa joke of a question, the golden light from the cage dancing in her eyes for a few moments before she concentrated on the matter at hand. She should at least attempt combat here soon. She just needed to get her wits about her and do it. But how...? Ishtara knew how to use her magic... Perhaps that would be a good beginning point...?

_____Morpheus was not entirely intent to harm the fish, sure he was told to reel it to land to make it easier to kill but he was also trying to help out as he started to pick up on a very old memory and feeling in the air. The girl, the faerin behind him wanted to help it seemed but was a bit scared or unsure how to. He recalled the days he was in the military, or when his kids wanted to help when his health first started to fall apart but they did not know how to approach it.

"If you wanna help just trust your gut Miss Tera, Life does not give you many chances to open it's doors, most times it will barge right in so better to use these times to be ready for it! Don't worry to much, I'll keep ya out of harm's way as best as these old bones can manage!"

_____Morpheus grinned as he looked over his shoulder to the faerin. He was a front line, a solider, and both father and grandfather to many. He was built to protect, raised to do it, and hell be damned if someone in his care went down before he did. Arms bracing as the large 'Koil' flopped and slammed him deeper into the water and against the divine cage making it flicker as he rushed to push it back to land and spun to put himself between the foe and the girl.

"If you never take the first steps then can you ever travel? If ya cast a line out are you just going to let the fish take the line or are you going to give it all ya got!?"

_____Morpheus tried to use some worded messages to help the girl get her wits back. He had seen many people lose their lives or get hurt due to being shocked. He had a few injuries to prove just that himself. Humming lightly as the Aura around him would arc towards Ishtara also, giving her a small boost to 'health' to help show he was not just full of hot air. It was her choice, if she wanted to help he would protect her, if not he would not push her again and find a way to clean his own mess and keep her safe all the same.

She just needed to get in there and attack... That's all she needed to do. A deep breath. It's been a while since she accessed her magic. But she just had to tap into the well within and pull her magic forth. It shouldn't take that much work, right? Right?

Ishtara stepped between the "bars" of the cage, a glowing blue dagger appearing in her hand from Arcanamancy. A short swing of it to test how it felt in her hands. And her eyes narrowed towards the creature. Ishtara glanced at her dagger and then at the creature. She'll do her best. Keeping silent for now as she rushed for the creature from behind. He at least knew how to encourage someone into action, for being an old geaser.

She took a stance before rushing in, arm out stretched as she rushed in a burst of speed at the back of the enemy that she would help kill. Though she knew she had to be careful of the tail and possibly any electric shock that the enemy gave to her. Ishtara would jump into the air and plunge the blade into the "Koil's" back.

_____Morpheus grinned seeing the girl get over the combat shock, doing his job as the front line to keep the Koil busy and focused on him. Arms infused with divine magic catching the tail again and pulling it closer to the Faerin to give her a clean shot before pushing to away from her. A small grin as he would take the time to give her a thumb's up and resumed the fight.

"Not bad Miss Tera, for a dagger like that stabs work great and choosing a magic weapon over metal was a good idea. who knows when this koil is going to start sparking."

_____His stance shifting quickly as Morpheus rushed to get himself in place, one hand gently getting some space between him and Ishtara before the other was moved to catch the tail and drag it the other way before slamming it down to the ground. His mend reaching out to tend the recent wounds of the faerin and some of his own from the tail's impact as he chuckled lightly and took up a boxing stance.

"Come on fish, give this old bones some real challenges. If all you going to do is flip and flop try using splash! Maybe it's effective!"

_____Morpheus laughed as he made a shout out to a very early memory of a game he once played with his kids. Think they called it 'poke-e-man'? Shrugging as he only recalled the creatures had over time got less creative and one that drove him away from it was a keychain creature. Returning back to the fight as he was sent a little ways to the side from another tail smack making the old man laugh a bit more. That was a move in the games also, but it never did damage he thought?

Okay... Okay... I can do this... Yeah, I can do this... Maybe?! I dunno, I just... That might've been a fluke that it actually hurt the thing! Yeah, maybe! But now it knows I'm here... Well, I could do the same thing again, jump up land and attack but if I do that it might just roll and flip and crush me- Ishtara shook her head to clear her thoughts of the fight away. She just had to let things flow here. She didn't know exactly what she was doing but she had fought bosses and the like in other games. As long as they kept it out of the water... it'd be fine. If they could find a way to dry it out, it'd run out of oxygen faster probably, but she doubted this guy knew how to actually cause something to dry out. Unless he was a secret fire mage or knew wind magic or... You know, he could fling it into the air again? Yeah, he could do that! But she'd need to deal more damage first, then get into position.

So, Ishtara went in, dragging the magical blade along the side of the enemy's flank, trying to cut a loooong gash in it's scaly skin, an attack that worked many times in other games even if the magical dagger couldn't go too deep. Though as she did it she did feel some degree of electricity flowing into her hand when she touched it. But she'll be fine in the long run. She'll definitely be fine, right? Yeah, she'll be fine. It shouldn't take too much to kill it especially if they kept it out of the water, and dried out and deprived of it's source of breathing. Unless it could breath out of water? That definitely was a possibility wasn't it? Well, either way-

"We need to dry this thing out somehow!" Ishtara states, now standing close to Morpheus. Though also... behind him because... Why stand right next to the man holding the beast? "If we do that, it might deprive it of more oxygen and even lessen the effects of it's retaliating shock."

_____He heard her, but did not exactly have many ways he could 'dry it out' that came to mind. Taking a moment mid-combat to stroke his beard before shrugging and letting the divine cage drop so he would have the magic to do something else. Hands clapping together before he would reach for the Koi, divine magic forming two massive hands to hold it down more as he started to spin clockwise. Slowly gaining speed.

... Did he just- HE DID! REALLY JUST DID THAT! Oh gods... That's both impressive and scary with his strength. But also the comedy of watching an old man do such a thing left Ishtara in stitches over it. She just began laughing at the sight of this old man YEETING and then dabbing on the creature that simply didn't want to be here. And yet here they were, fighting it and trying to kill it partly for sport. Ishtara was too distracted this time by her giggling to truly attack this turn... And also distracted by her giggling. "Note to self: Grandpa is possibly the most dangerous person I've met..."

_____Morpheus was having a little to much fun fighting the giant enemy. Sure it was a bit more like bullying it as he kept tossing it away from the water while it was just trying to stay alive. On one hand he felt a little bad for it, deciding he would not keep throwing it away from the water or keeping it in a cage. The creature would be allowed freedom if it could reach the water before it passed away from the incoming attacks. That said though Morpheus was going to start going at the creature with everything he had from here on.

_____Divine magic started to spark off his outfit and make his eyebrows rise much like a character from an age old anime as the old man took up a combat stance of a boxer. hopping on his feet a bit as the divine magic began to pool around his fist and he did a few test swings in the air to make sure he was ready for the kickback of the magic on his old bones. He could mend a few injuries but even he had limits as he waved for the Koil to try to get back to the water behind him.

"No more tossing ya round fish, you make it back you free ta go."

_____His statement more to let Ishtara know he had no more plans to keep the poor creature on land if it could still muster strength after this final round of beatings. It was going to come down to who had more conviction, the old man who wanted to catch his first fish, or the fish wanting to return to the deep parts of the lake. Either way the next moments would decide who came out atop, or swam away. It made his old heart beat loudly from excitement of a challenge.
