6/26 Patch Notes
Hello and welcome to another exciting game update on Terrasphere RP! Our development team is excited to announce the changes that came with our extended maintenance period. We've taken your feedback and gameplay into account and have discussed with our specialized balancing team to better enhance your Terrasphere experience. Now, let's get started!
NERFS
@Elizabeth Lixshine and @John Cromwell have proved to be too strong in this current meta. Their innate trait: [Toll, not Smol] has given them heights of 7'1" and 7'2" respectively, towering over previous Tall-role characters that have not yet received visual and gameplay updates (i.e. @Alonso Thorlion who stands at 6'3"). Due to this, our balancing team has recommended us to obtain [Procrustes' Iron Bed] to cut their heights to a more reasonable 4'2". Nerfs will be applied once both characters are apprehended, with a 1,000g bounty, dead or alive.
@Tristaria had some coding issues during the Travelers Gate event. This led to questionable RNG rates where this character had exceeded the damage limit and had: (1) spawned and turned a wolf into steak and (2) dealt 210 damage with nat 100 rolls twice. To prevent this from occuring once more, our balancing team plans to fuse @Tristaria and @Ru Ning's character into: Ru Tristaria. Hopefully, this merger will counteract the good and bad luck of the characters and Ru Tristaria could be a new favorite in our lively roster of Terrasphere characters.
The-Person-Who-Must-Not-Be-Tagged has had unimaginable, limitless power on the inhabitants of Terrasphere. Discord privileges, forum administrative powers, and complete control over every mechanism has given The-Person-Who-Must-Not-Be-Tagged and their Death Munchers, aka DMs, and Mods, Masters of Death, an undying, tyrannical reign over our people. We, the people, must not be cowed by this tyrant and they must be stoppe---NO NO HELP, PLEASE, NO, HELP ME, THE CLAW HAS GOT ME, NOOOOOOO---
BUFFS
@Ru Ning has earned the dubious honor of rolling a Nat 1 on a 1d100 roll. If not for modifiers, perhaps Terrasphere would've seen the first negative debuff in game history. To buff this character, our balance team has decided to merge together @Tristaria and @Ru Ning to create: Ru Tristaria, now available on terrarp.com/betatest.
@Aaron Marone has been popular with our playerbase since Terrasphere 1, but as new characters are being introduced, Aaron's kit seems to feel a little bit outdated. 96% of players and 4% of Aaron mains agree that Aaron's name is too bland in a universe with awesome names like @Alkaid Zexis and @Hyakin Heliodoros that really sell the fantasy feel. Because of this, we're completely revamping Aaron's character! From now on, Aaron will be renamed to: Delihedros Grimwalker and, to counteract that aged and boring tank build (and the predominant Human character meta), we are changing Delihedros' identity! Instead of a [Divine Magic] [Slash Weapons] [Guard Arts] [Mend] paladin, we're reworking Delihedros to an [Animancy] [Pyromancy] [Magitech] [Martial Arts] necromancer to truly bring out one of our playerbase's fan favorites: skeletons with flamethrowers, machine guns, and krav maga.
@Seigi Ling Ling has had amazing stats over the years, but we're making the decision to buff her due to her frankly large death count and horrifying death afflictions. To prevent any more debilitating statuses, we're now updating Seigi to be immortal with this patch. To cope with her traumatizing deaths, we're also shipping Seigi off to an all-expense paid, one week vacation to digitally-simulated Las Vegas to help Seigi cope with the pain of being eternally trapped in a video game. Taxes not included, holidays and weekends unavailable, food, travel, and lodging not included, $25 free game play at X Casino after spending $500 on concessions.
Due to the popularity of Vale's shrimp-spider-dragon, we're making SSD a brand new playable character! This good boi throws up spiders and tastes like shrimp! A perfect addition to any cocktail party and an amazing hors d'oeuvres.
BALANCE CHANGES
@Roland Rutledge received several nerfs after dominating early-season meta. Due to overpowering stats, Roland was given the [Headless] debuff, [Arachnophobia] death affliction, and Beatrice's Princess Nighty-night Sleeping Bag was removed his inventory and the game. Additionally, he was removed from the character list and placed in an NYC Federal Detention Facility and has been given the [Talks To Himself] status. Since the changes have been drastic, the balance team is currently contemplating removing the last tag by forcibly interring Roland at the Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Visitations will be at 2pm sharp, please dress nicely and do not (1) talk about evil flower ladies, (2) fantasy politics, (3) evil games out to get you, or (4) any other conspiracies. This is all in your mind and Terrasphere RP is a fun, family-friendly game for all ages!
@Lucia Mierz is our poster child for a necromancer in Terrasphere RP (although her spot may be taken by newcomer Delihedros Grimwalker). Still, as time passes, we also want our universe to change as well! Since we're feeling that the pantheon is getting too crowded, and that animancy needs a counterpick, we've reworked one of Lucia's tools: [Divine Magic] to be [Holy Magic], and we're removing Synra for the game, in part due to copyright restrictions from Riot Games due to name similarities to [Syndra]. Due to the elemental conflicts between the naturally dark-aligned animancy and holy magic, every time Lucia uses a holy magic skill, her HP will drop by -10948 and she will be burned to death from the effects of redemption, purity, and goodness on her sinful soul.
@Ilya has been a major part of our recent lore updates, especially from the Pirates of the Caribbean update that was released last week. Unfortunately, her appearance doesn't align with the traditional look and feel we're going for when it comes to our upcoming pirate class! To fix this, we're giving Ilya a makeover and some plastic surgery. Starting with our next update, Ilya will now be: (1) wearing an eyepatch, (2) have a gold tooth, (3) a new goatee, (4) has a pet parrot, (5) we're changing some of her voice lines to include more arr's and shiver me timber's, and (6) we're changing her from a lion beastfolk to a whale since we feel that it would fit better with the sea theme. Concept art for her visual update can be found here.
It has come to our attention that @Cain Darlite has displayed a peculiarly advanced vocabulary and an extremely long title: "Cain Darlite, Flagbearer of Miracles, Seer of the Darkness Beyond the Stars." From now on, for better reading comprehension, Cain is now C.D., Miracle Dude and Guy Who Can Seek Dark Stuff. Past dialogue will be altered for a more friendly, surfer-bro vibe that will appeal to all Terrasphere players:
Allow me to introduce myself, fellow adventurers! I am Cain Darlite, Flagbearer of Miracles, Seer of the Darkness Beyond the Stars. Paltry monsters lurk this dungeon, but amongst them lies a foe of unbecoming power, preying upon those immortals amongst us who have yet to carve their own legends upon this world. And so, as one somewhat further along than you, let this humble bard be your safeguard against such opportunistic predators
Will now be:
Yo, howzit brahs, name's C.D., Miracle Dude and Guy Who Can Seek Dark Stuff. Weak bros, like do they even lift, are rooming here but, like, dudes and dudettes, there's this killer, gnarly one that's shredding and totally sick right now. Not all of us have done a cool hang ten but this dude's tryin' to blow us out. I've done a 360 without eating it before so I'm telling you barneys to look out.
