3.0 Beta Reading Guide

Hello Beta readers, please follow this guide and help me improve the Wiki.

Reading List
  • For the time being, we’re mainly beta reading the new Mastery and Expertise pages and each individual page under them.
  • There are tertiary pages I’ve completed, you can take a look, but unless it looks obviously done, you don’t need to worry about it.
What to look for
  • Are the formatting all consistent? Does anything look off?
  • Are there anything that raises questions?
  • Are there any major typos?
  • Do the categorizations match? You can see the categorization at the bottom of each of the Mastery and Expertise pages. Use this master list to check: TSRPG
  • Are there any broken links?
Suggestions
  • Note: We have a new categorization for lore now. Each lore piece y’all unlocked or has unlocked will go under the Lore Extra category. Each lore will either be a Major Lore bit or a Minor Lore bit and will be linked to on relevant pages. For example, if there’s a page for a Fractus-type of enemy in the future, it will link to the Syndral Fractus lore page.
  • With that in mind, if you see any reference that should be linked to its own lore page, please let me know.
  • Also, if you have any idea for new content, additional content, or something you'd want to see added for any page in the wiki, you can suggest it below as well, be sure to label them as issues or suggestions.
Posting in this thread
  • Please take screenshot and/or share the link to the page you're referring to.
  • It's okay for their to be duplicate reports, you don't have to check all replies before you unless you really want to.

Revive card has a broken link (Narrative Resurrection). I found it on the Harmonic Magic page, but I'm gonna guess it's broken everywhere.

Reference card has a broken link (Rules)... Found in Harmonic Magic page too, but pretty sure it's everywhere.

Three Broken Links in this section of Hydromancy: (Plane of Water, Plane of Ice and Tyl)
Primordial Divorce. While the question of why a Hydromancer can't harden water into ice and manipulate it has come to more than a number of curious minds, Lore Scholars and Esotericists trained in Archeology knows that the Hydro and Cryo Prime-Elementals (the rulers of the specific elemental races) were married once, but have then split and divided the Plane of Water and the Plane of Ice into two. The fracture was so great that it produced a literal rift in the metaphysical world, dividing the combined Language of Water and Ice into two, from Chrysymgog into Hyssymgog and Cyssymgog, which are the languages used to cast Hydromancy and Cryomancy spells respectively.

The fractured elemental plane also means that previous combined spells from historical account no longer works. Interestingly enough, if you ever wondered why Hydromancy has healing power, your friendly neighborhood lore gremlin will tell you the hour long epic of how the Water Prime-Elemental, Hyssysarissa took Tyl as her husband and how their coupling has imbued Hydromancy with divine property.

Broken Link in Mend: (Deity)
If you would like another angle of this Alter, you can easily redress Mend as a divine blessing, with its supportive abilities bestowed upon you by a deity.
Also on Mend's page, the card for the "Bestowed" action currently reads "Bestowed (Beta)", and I dunno if that's on purpose or not.

11 Broken Links in the Expertise page. 4 in the main text (UI Update 3.0; Bleedover Effect; Lifeskillers; Terrashere 2.0), 7 in the RPG Mechanics (Dice Roll Guide; Succeed or Fail Check; Turn and Post Cycle; Movement; Map; Range; Health and Healing):

Prior to the UI Update 3.0, expertise were implicit, however, they are fully a part of the system now. As players, you can pull up your Status Panel to check your progress in specific Expertise, just like you could with masteries. Considering the Bleedover Effect, where some in-game skills transfers to the real world, there has been a surge in players who play the game to transfer their skills, they are referred to as lifeskillers and they have no interest in the dangerous adventuring of the game.

OOCly, each character may choose up to six Expertise, and the cap is the same as masteries, (S, AA, BBB). Expertise and Mastery work together to reinforce or expand your existing build and character flavor. Expertise may influence some features under the Property System. For members who were a part of Terrasphere 2.0, the Expertise system is replacing the previous 5-stats expertise. This means that DMs and Narrators may make use of them in their threads.

Still on the Expertise page, the "Types" section says they're divided into "Practical, Artistic, Crafting and Discipline", but when you actually look at the Expertise list, they're only divided into "Practical" and "Discipline"... Though some of them have different colors underlining them, so I assume you just forgot to put the separator for Artistic and Crafting there.

3 broken links in the Theology page: (Deity; Tertus Elania; Soul Rebalancing)
Origin's Acolytes. Within the hovering Ark of Fate, Tertoria, the Origin's Acolytes serve as the theocratic overseers for their deity, Tertus Elania. While the Star Chosen act as exterminators and the Oracles as governors, the Acolytes are responsible for delivering divine directives to all approved authorities. These hyper-conforming women, clad in blue and white, are far from mere assistants, they appear without warning at any Tertorian-centric location, even beyond its borders, to preach the doctrine of Tria, warn against Dissonance, and deliver sermons on the Cosmic Code to all corners of Arcia. Their presence often signals a divine mandate being enforced or reaffirmed.

Typically stationed as advisors in major cities, an Acolyte can be found residing within a "Boundary Rest," a hovering, triangle-like monolith that hums faintly with unknown energy. Citizens seeking "Soul Rebalancing" may enter by placing a hand upon its surface and stating their desire. Few recall what transpires inside — only that they emerge feeling momentarily at peace, their memories of the experience fading within days. This amnesia is considered a spiritual recalibration, a gentle return to the ideal path laid out by fate. Acolytes stationed in this way tend to be younger or more approachable than the senior emissaries dispatched for critical matters tied to high prophecy or cosmic correction.

Broken Link in the Voyaging page: (Meliodas)
Gift of Survival. All voyagers receive the gift of Meliodas, the God of Travel, when they reach the C-rank in Voyaging. The gift makes it so whenever the Voyager depletes their food, water, temperature tolerance, or energy meters, they have a set time buffer that keeps them conscious for a while longer so they can fix their issue before the light goes out.

Not a broken link, but I'm confused about something... Is the goddess name "Syndra" or "Synra"? Wiki1 has her as Synra, while Wiki2 has her as Syndra

Also, a small suggestion for the Deities page, since I saw that there is a broken link to it.

Instead of making it a Category page like it is in Wiki1, maybe add the short overview of each deity to the list? I feel like that would make it easier to look at god pages that interest you, instead of needing to check them all.

Like... Adding something like this below the explanation of what the gods are:

Here are the currently known gods:

Uene:
  • Symbol: A crescent moon with its valley facing upward and a small circle above
  • Domains: Beauty and the Moon
  • Primary Follower: Caenis
Syndra:
  • Symbol: A white lily
  • Domains: Transference and Undeath
  • Primary Follower: ???

Thought of some small suggestions for character creation that I think aren't there already, so I figured I'd just put them here.

For Sexuality, an option for "Doesn't know" could be nice, I guess? Though I mostly want that because I want to play a child character who wouldn't have really given it any thought, so it's kinda minor.

For Relationship, put a "Widow" option there if it isn't already there? I honestly don't remember if there was an option for it.

Thought of another wiki suggestion.

Maybe add more landmarks to the map? Or maybe highlight more specific areas within the map?

The idea is to like... To let people know, just from clicking at stuff in the map, where is Eastern Brisshal, where is Pormont, where is Dunnstads... This kind of thing, because right now we have to actually go to Falderen's page to actually know where in the map each region would be.

... Though I'm not sure if there is a clean implementation to that that still allows you to just click in the region and know that Falderen is there... Landmarks could work, I guess, but I dunno if it wouldn't look cluttered... Still, figured I'd suggest it~

Typos on Syndra's page (Synra instead of Syndra):

emotions swirl inside Synra like a violent storm.
Synra will sometimes let the souls
Broken link on Urukhan's page (Synra instead of Syndra again):

Together, they begot Synra, his beloved daughter.

Broken Link on Strength page (Barbatos):
a sight so breathtaking that those who have been there claim that it's where Barbatos, the god of madness and might go to calm his chaos.
And a typo also on Strength's page (Synra instead of Syndra):
ASPIRE TO? LONG after YOUNG SYNRA takes me to SEE Urukhan

Broken Links on Eastern Brisshal's Page (Beasts; Plant Monsters):
  • Bandits. Opportunistic thieves looking to rob or kill travelers.
  • Beasts. Beasts that are native to the region.
  • Goblins. The green-skinned menace that overruns this area.
  • Plant Monsters. Sentient plants or plant monsters that prey on other creatures.
Another Broken Link, and a typo too (Both are Synra instead of Syndra):
Synra's Temple

Hidden in the woodland is a quaint temple to Synra, built right up against the Blue Rapid river.

I think those should be all instances of "Synra" left in the wiki, unless the search function betrayed me~

All for Pormont's Page:

Uene isn't linked in the description or name of First Church of Uene:
First Church of Uene
Standing proudly at the center of Pormont is a church embellished with hundreds of gemstones in its gaudy architecture. The main priest, Father Chadston, lives here with his seven priestesses who are sent to all corners of Pormont to collect tithes for Uene's blessing. When a farm is bound for a bad harvest, the farmer would embark on a pilgrimage to this church to beg for Uene's forgiveness with gold and other gifts.

The image of the Pormont's page is a mushroom, and opening the image in a new tab says it's "full-isulus", so I assume it's a wrong image, because I don't think a mushroom is meant to represent Pormont.

Also, there are 3 Broken Links (City Humanoid; Beast; Plant Monsters) in Pormont's page. Also worth note, in Eastern Brisshal Page the broken link is to "Beasts", so it's probably a good idea to change this one to "Beasts" too instead of keeping it as "Beast":

Bestiary

  • City Humanoid. Pormont locals who take on an antagonistic role. They could be the jealous farmer who lost a showcasing contest to his neighbor, a rancher wife who thinks you're trying to steal her family recipe, etc. Small village antagonists.
  • Beast. Beasts native to the region.
  • Plant Monsters. Sentient plants or plant monsters that prey on other creatures.

Bullshit Tarkya Only Found Because She's Manually Ingesting All This Data Into An Obsidian Notebook For Fun and Memes:

Architecture metadata(?) appears to be incorrect. It is improperly categorized as Creative and Social instead of Crafting and Knowledge.

I was attempting to use the category pages as shortcuts and got confused when comparing it to the actual pages. This probably only affected me now and will never affect anyone else.

General issue on every Mastery: The link here takes you to Wiki 2.
image.png

Time for typos! I'll mostly just be quoting and posting links since sourcing images for everything is a pain.
Mastery
image.png

Should be an "&" here since every other Mastery does so.
image.png

Same as above.

Change "visual" to "vision."
Aeromancy
  • With Aeromancy, you can do thing such
    • things
  • the different application of it
    • applications
  • spoiled with the change to
    • I assume you meant "chance" here?
  • blast a specific enemies off
    • enemy
  • largely area-effectand indiscriminately
    • I don't think that's an actual term, usually people say "AoE" or "area-of-effect."
    • In Geomancy you have it as area-of-effect (AoE) if you want to be consistent
    • That said, I now see that the card is listed as Area Effect, no hyphen. So uh...whatever you do, at least make it consistent with the card?
  • using it in tight areascan
    • While not wrong, "tight spaces" is a much more common phrase.
  • Manipulates yours, allies', or enemies' positioning
    • This just flows awkwardly in my opinion. I'd probably reword it to something like, "Manipulates the position of allies, enemies, and yourself."
Arcanamancy
  • together like Lego and
    • Legos
  • uses Arcanamancy have, it
    • has
Beast Arts
  • also have magical evolution where
    • Should either be "a magical evolution" or "evolutions."
  • will lead to them to run awayfrom home
    • Two options here. "Lead to them running away," or, "Lead them to run away."
  • everywhere the beast move to
    • moves
Cryomancy
  • which are the language to
    • languages
Geomancy
  • slow, since many of these spells are moving a lot of masses
    • No comma needed
    • mass
  • earthy materials and them while
    • in
Guard Arts
  • or give damage buffor activate damage reflection
    • Either "a damage buff" or "damage buffs" works here.
    • You also follow up with another "or" here, so I'd also remove the one at the beginning and add a comma after "buff."
  • little offense capabilities
    • offensive
  • Guard Arts + Ranged Weapons = Throw your shield with ranged and have it bounce between different targets
    • Links to "Ranged Weapons" instead of just "Ranged."
    • I'd likely just remove "with ranged" or change it to "Ranged Mastery."
Hemomancy
  • Hemomancy letyou
    • lets
  • considered a taboo magic, which
    • No need for the comma here
Illusion Magic
  • Offensively, it can trick enemies into hurting themselves or deal damage directly to their psyche, or conjure horrific visions.
    • Should become a list instead by removing the bolded "or," replacing it with a comma.
  • surroundings whenever you go
    • wherever
  • hardest magic to train
    • To me this should be "magics," though I'm not 100% sure on this.
  • practically all royalties inemploy Court Wizards
    • The "in" isn't needed.
  • who specializes in detecting
    • specialize
Spellbane
  • thus, specialists at
    • The comma is unnecessary.
  • deal with magical threat
    • threats
  • It was then the magic practitioners that took their sacred technique, dissect it, and then adapt it for their own use, creating an entirely new school of magic called Spellbane.
    • This sentence just flows really poorly. I get that you're trying to say that magic practitioners took the techniques and adapted it into a new school of magic, but the first half is clumsy at getting it across. I'm not sure how to fix it at this time.
    • dissected
    • adapted
  • looking to for her next victim
  • The "to" is unnecessary.
I'll get around to the Offense, Support, and Alter later on.
