"Jia?" Jie whispered as he quietly cracked open the door to her room and peered inside. It was dark, and the moon was mostly obscured by clouds tonight, making it difficult to see into Jia's room, and though Jie could not spot his twin through the slim black crack between the door and frame, he crept in anyways, quietly closing it behind him.

The clouds parted for just a moment, shedding enough light in the room for both twins to see. Whilst Jie was dressed a little nicer than usual, and at least looked like he'd try to style an outfit for himself wearing a denim jacket over a plain wine colored shirt, a pair of dark pants, and casual sneakers, Jia looked far more put together than he. Enough so that the boy nodded and smiled at his sister, "Lookin' good."

A last check to make sure they had everything that they needed (which was painfully little, just their phones and a spare set of keys, just in case, and the pair climbed out the window into the crisp, autumn air. The party wasn't terribly far, but it was enough of a walk that it'd the pair a little while to get there. Jie was silent though, a quiet nervousness beneath his skin as they walked down the street. Breaking the rules and sneaking out wasn't exactly that part that made the boy nervous, nor was it the possibility of drinking. More so, it was how disappointed the Liu's would be if they found out. In the past, it had never bothered Jie, if their foster parents got mad, or sad, or cared at all about what the twins had done. But the Lius, they were different. Maybe because they cared so much to adopt not just Jie, but Jia too, Jie found himself caring in return.

But on they walked anyways, because this might be their only chance at having a real social life. And the thought of being an outcast forever was frightening.
