It had been eighteen days since the Kurugnaar Mother and all the horrors it had sought to possess had been brought down by the combined efforts of the four factions, and exactly as long since the adopted blind imouto of at least four people a this point had been seen.

Azykia is now Online

Until today, that is. She entirely expected to wake up in the crater where she had logged out in the aftermath of the zone once rife with a nauseating amount of magic. Instead, she could only see the magical bracelet on her wrist, and could only feel the soft bed below her. Could it be that she didn't do the hold-logout and that somebody from one of the guilds had carried her somewhere safe?

She took a little while to collect her bearings. Remember how to do magic, get used to how disorienting being blind was once more. That sort of thing. She made a walking stick out of bright blue magic and held it out to the right. Yep, there was that pesky bedside table. The girl climbed out of bed on the left, quickly finding the dresser, the window, and the armoire. Either she was back at the inn in Honeyhome, or this world had copy-pasted inns. It hardly mattered at the moment. She was here to get back to the life she wanted to live, with the people she wanted in it.

Maybe they had forgotten about her and the whole little sister gig. It had nearly been three weeks, and this was quite a chaotic game. Even past that her ability to remember things in and out of the game when she was the other wasn't that great, so she wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of long-term side effect that could make people forget things.

Before she knew it, she had made her way down the hall to her left, counting five doors, and walked out into the lobby. With ar-cane in hand, she began to carefully get her bearings again. She had counted it out tens of times before, and despite her fears she remembered the right number of steps until her stick tapped against the door. "Okay... Six, then turn left, thirteen, then turn left-" She muttered to herself to drill it back into her head.

Suddenly her concentration was broken as she walked out into a light shower of rain. Rather than let the bad luck weather ruin her plans, the girl simply smiled and continued to count her steps. The sheer misfortune, the struggles had already began. It was good to be back.

Twas yet another day in the oh so lovely world of Terrasphere, and the first day in several that Aroda was actually playing. Much as she was finding entertainment and great interest in exploring and trying new things in this game, life did in fact call at times, and she could spend days having no chance to spend time actually getting online.

That said, she hadn't only been staying busy outside the game - whenever she was logged in, she often spent her time traveling, wandering the wilderness, searching for interesting features in the world, and of course, collecting all the parts and materials she could for her exploits in magitech.

And today, as she was stopping back at Honeyhome for a bit, she found a good excuse to put some """magitech""" to use. She had paid some visits to the power stones in the area, and gone on another search throughout the area, before arriving back here for a rest - by which time, a light rain had started. She walked back into town already wielding a contraption she had managed to put together in a previous session...an umbrella.

As far as magitech went, it was so rudimentary it probably didn't even count is magitech.
Mainly because no magic was required to power it.
...It was just an umbrella.
Yet it was quite the simple task to make, thanks to Aroda's increasing familiarity in engineering moving parts.

And speaking of familiarity - as she walked the streets, safely protected from the absolute downpour that was the current drizzle, she noticed a notification she hadn't seen in a bit. 'Little sis' was on too, huh? Well, she was already in town, so she supposed she could stop by the inn and see if she was around. Aroda did have some things to try...

All that considered, she indeed gets quite the surprise, moving through town only to see the very same small girl, plodding through the rain like nothing. Sure, it wasn't a lot of rain, but still...

"Azykia? What are you doing?"

She calls out as she gets nearer, sporting a slightly amused look - and tone - at the girl getting rained on. Before any more talk, first thing's first,

"Here, you want an umbrella?"

And when she reaches her, she leans to put her free hand on the Azykia's arm, hoping to guide it a bit toward where she can grab on to the ultimate technological progression in magitech - the umbrella.

It’d been a while since the horrors of that giant bug, and Celestine would’ve been content to leave the traumatic experience behind her, if not for a few people who seemed to be quite done with Terrasphere after having been subjected to it. She’d lost friends, and witnessing the empty friend list just reminded her of how much she hated that stupid bug.

… And that was when she saw it: the icon flashed from grey to green. "Azzy!" Celestine clapped her hands together in delight, getting a few strange looks from the people in her traveling caravan. Leaping out of the back and into the rain, she took off after Honeyhome, ignoring some sort of protest about the dangers of traveling alone or whatever.

Several minutes later, the dazzling astral mage stepped foot into the familiar beginner-ville. Above her head, her hat hovered and spun, frantically flinging water away with a reverse gravity well. Maybe a but energy-intensive for an umbrella, but it worked, and most importantly: it was flashy~! Looks were everything.

As she wandered through the streets, Celestine drew several angry looks as the water-flinging hat drenched those who thought they’d be safe under their umbrellas. Unfortunate, but sometimes, sacrifices had to be made for style. They‘d live.

It wasn’t long until Cel caught sight of the long blond hair. Two long blond sets of hair, actually! Right next to each other! Huh. She wandered up, the hat flinging water on them much like everything else nearby.

"Azzy! You do the return!" Cel ran up and gave her a quick hug. "I thought you were doing Terrasphere a goodbye for the evers. Hm… also, you are being very wet. You should do more of a careful or you will do the catching of a cold," Cel scolded as if she had no idea what’d just happened.

Meanwhile, the hat continued hovering above her, shielding Cel and Azzy, but continuing to fling water at the magia maiden nearby. Seeing how close they were, Celestine figured she ought to introduce herself. "Hello, I am Celestine~! You also should not be doing that much wet. Maybe we should do the going inside?"

As she heard her name called out, she brushed her soaking wet hair out of her face so it wouldn't get in her mouth. It took her a lot longer to figure out who was speaking to her than she would have liked. In fact, it took all the way until the magia's metal hand took hold of her arm to realize who it might have been. That was the point when she finally decided to respond as she took a shared hold of the umbrella.

"Is that Aroda?" The girl let out a laugh at the irony involved with how quickly she ran into someone aware of her real life situation to some extent, when she had logged on in order to escape it once again. "How kind, Miss Aroda, although I don't really mind the rain. It's kind of humbling, trying to stumble around in the rain such as I've been for the last minute."

Before she could even ask the magia how she'd been, she heard the familiar call (and saw the familiar blinding illusion) of one of her closest friends as she flinched from the water that splashed in her face. With one hand on Aroda's umbrella and the other on her ar-cane, she could really only hug back with her head. "Celesis. Were you here in Honeyhome already? That's not like you."

She didn't really reiterate the part about actually wanting to walk around in the rain. She was actually just happy to see some friendly faces after an interesting time in the outside world to say the least.

Aroda chuckles a little at the Azykia's way of describing getting soaked in the rain.

"Azykia, I'm pretty sure you're already humbled enough without catching a virtual fantasy cold. Anyways, you just hold on to this one, and-"

Then, Aroda is cut off by the sudden loud approach of the frickin' human sprinkler. As the stranger calls to the small girl and runs up, Aroda gets water splashed all over her nice sundress. She quickly lets that umbrella go for Azykia to hold, while whipping another one out from her inventory, which opens quickly. She holds it mostly at an angle against the bizarre new arrival, to avoid getting sprinkled as much as she can.

"What the, f- hey, cut that out!"

She calls, backing away from the destructive, torrential force of nature that has inserted itself directly next to Azykia so that Aroda could get more wet. As she hears their exchange, her brow furrows more than it already was. Y'know, as a result of getting water flung at her.

"Cel...this is Celesis? Okay, Celesis, can you turn that off? Look, I've got umbrellas!"

She says, in reference to the two umbrellas already out, but probably implicating she has more. They were pretty easy to make.

Celestine nodded in response to Azzy’s question. "Well, it is not the exactly, but I—" she was cut off as the machine person filed a complaint with the hat department. Though it would be largely impossible for the machine lady to tell, her hat was a tad bit disappointed that its dance went unappreciated. It wasn’t often that Lady Celestine asked it to dance, after all, yet it was met with nothing but scorn and a replacement!

Rude.

"Only the Azzy does me the calling of Celesis," Celestine insisted. "Unless you are also doing her a sister… then I would being doing you a Celesis by the associations." The hat continued dancing… "And then if you are having another sibling, then maybe that sibling would be doing me a Celesis too by the association with you having the association with Azzy doing me a Celesis."

It was hard to believe Celestine was this thick, but if she was acting, she was doing a pretty convincing job of it. The giveaway might’ve been her ignoring the umbrellas juuust a little too intentionally.

"If you do not like doing the wet, you believe yourself to be doing the dry, and if you do the believe hard enough, your dreams may be doing themselves a truth~!" Waving her hand through the air like an infinitely more confusing fairy-godmother, Celestine pointed to the two girls, hand glowing with illusion magic. Suddenly, the two appeared perfectly dry, and continued to feel that way, no matter how much rain poured on them which, given the fact that her hat hadn’t slowed down, was a lot.

… She just had to make sure that spell could keep up until they could get changed into clothes that weren’t, in reality, completely drenched. "Maybe we should do a bathhouse the visit! That is sounding nice today." More importantly: it’d be a good excuse to stay in range of the illusion spell, right up to the point of getting changed.

Figuring that was now dealt with, Cel turned back to Azzy, "I did a come to see you actually! You did the sudden vanish, and I was afraid I would not be doing you the seeing any more…"

Only able to hear and not see what as going on around her, the younger girl of the trio could tell there was a little tension in the air between the two, which didn't come as a shock given how Celestine reacted to Toko and Brutus showing up after collecting mushrooms turned into nuclear warfare. What was surprising to Azzy was just how vividly she could feel the irritation in the air. A feeling jealousy she knew all too well, and one far less alight with the flames of verbal warfare. At least she felt like these feelings were floating around in the air, and she could smell and taste them she swore on it.

As the common friend of the two, she felt it was on her shoulders to try and get the two onto the same page, and she began her efforts with a laugh. "You two are being silly. You know catching a cold from the rain is just a wives' tale, don't you?" There was no way she could ever end up being wrong about this later. "And Aroda here has taken wonderful care of me. Truly, she is worthy of being Celesis's sis." Try saying that last part out loud it's pretty lulzy.

"If anything, I'd prefer a nice rainy picnic to tripping into a bathtub in front of total strangers." Azykia was pretty committed to the exercise of saying something very blatantly without saying it at all. In this case, it might have been pretty obvious that she wasn't too comfortable testing the water with either foot, much less both. "Although I would if the two of you insisted. Otherwise..."

Right, she forgot to address the elephant in the room. It's not like she could see it anyways, so how could anyone blame here?

"I apologize if I caused any worries. Actually, you're right. I didn't intend on ever logging back into Terrasphere, at first." She left it at that for now because the longer a post gets the more difficult it gets for a three person rp to remain stable.

Aroda sits there, flabbergasted, trying to shield herself from rain as this newcomer goes on...and on...and,

"Sure, okay, just-"

Then the girl pulls some strange magic, and Aroda...stops getting wet? She examines herself a moment, not adjusting the umbrella's position as she tries to figure out what's going on.

"Uh...is this magic? What kind..."

And as she asks, she glances over the umbrella at the girl that's still just going on at her own pace, as if Aroda wasn't there. She sighs, keeping the umbrella between her and the sprinkler still as she looks to Azykia.

"...Yeah, a...bath house? Like, a public one? That's, pretty weird. Is there anywhere that still does things like that?"

She offers her comments there as well, before the last topic in this chain of dialogues comes up and she cocks her head.

"Hm? Wait, why's that? Thought you uh, really liked it here. Something happen?"

"Aroda…" Celestine echoed the name she’d been given for the machine girl. Nice to have the name at least.

"Uhm…" Cel smiled all the more brightly as she was questioned about the magic. "It is the unwetting magic! It does the very effective, do you not think~?" She was of the belief that a smile and a positive attitude was a cure for every situation: even the no-no questions that she’d rather not be asked.

So she smiled.

"The bathhouse is not being itself the weird! Have you not done any animes a watch?" Celestine countered, as if that totally settled the debate. "And this is not the real— uhm…" she cut herself off as a few NPCs turned their head to glare, "ahem… this is not the starcalled realm, that we are from, so it not doing itself the same standards of the moderns!"

That said, she wouldn’t push it. The two of them didn’t look on board at all.

"Yes, why not? Were you doing too much of the disgust after the bug? That is what I was doing the thinking that you were doing the thinking…"

There was equally a lot going on at the moment, and not enough, as Azykia decided to funnel everything into one neatly tied basket of conversational progression. "I'll tell you both what. I wouldn't mind a bath as long as I could close myself off with magic, but if we can't agree to that activity, perhaps each of us should come up with a different one and see if we all agree upon a new choice. If not, we'll do as Celesis seems to insist."

With a warm smile in the cold rain, the blind girl closed her eyes and spoke simply of her proposal. "In a storm, warm comfort foods are the way to go. Perhaps not a picnic in the rain, but a gettogether at a restaurant somewhere."

"Whatever we decide, I'll explain further of my disappearance once we get to it. Just because I like the rain doesn't mean I'm going to make my big sisters stand around in it with me." She said this so plainly and happily that it almost felt like a jab, or a jest.

Aroda gives the both of them a troubled, uncomfortable stare, before shrugging sluggishly.

"If you guys insist on a bathhouse, for whatever reason...then, yeah, I guess it's not our real- er, 'original' bodies...but these metal limbs probably look strange with nothing covering them."

She says, lightly pinching at the length of her dress to indicate she mainly means her robo legs, which are normally visible, but only to a bit below the knee thanks to...the dress, obviously.

"Though I guess that's only a problem for, Cele...whatever. Alright, what even is your name, if it's not Celesis? You already heard mine, but I'm Aroda. I started...er, 'was starcalled', not too long ago, couple weeks, maybe."

The magia finally gets around to introducing herself to this...very strange stranger, extending a metal hand beneath the umbrella she's still holding partially between them to block a bit of sprinklage. She may not feel wet, but it just rubbed her wrong to have water being sprinkled at her face.

"Do yourself a close off with the magics...?" Celestine sorta echoed Azykia's request. "What is that doing the mean?" Maybe she was just too weirded out at the idea of bathing with other people? That made some sense, she supposed. It wasn't a common thing on the outside. "I can be doing you a hide with the illu-- uhm... the illustrious magics, I suppose." Whew, that was close!

"But I could do an eat too, I guess. That will do the working for me," she shrugged, turning to Aroda, who promptly butchered her name.

"I am Celestine," she introduced with an elegant curtsy, given how her hat was too busy dancing water onto angry pedestrians for any sort of hat tip. "I did myself a Starcall many of the years ago, so I have been doing the adventuring for a while now. Nice to meet you. Although..." she raised a hand to her mouth, pondering whether to mention the whole "Third-death" rule or not. "Well, that can do the wait while we do an eat~!"

Azykia gave a soft giggle of triumph at how her idea had turned the tides so. At least both of them seemed alright with it. Aroda didn't really comment, and come to think of it...

"Right, my apologies, Aroda. You can't taste anything, can you?" She clicked her tongue, and a momentary look of brow-furrowed concern painted her face. She brushed it away as she continued to hold the umbrella above her. "Actually, if it means anything to either of you, I wanted to try and figure out how to make nail polish."

She let her ar-cane disappear and brushed her dry-wet hair out of her face. "I've been wanting to go to the spa, but Honeyhome doesn't really have one of the caliber I'm looking for. Maybe this is the day I finally venture out." She laughed if only to express that it was either a joke or something she couldn't say with as much earnest as she wanted to.

She offered out her hand, presumably to be taken.

"I'm just really glad to see you both right now. We could do anything together and I'd be happy."

Aroda's neutral expression falters into disappointment only for a moment as the newly named Celestine brings up eating, too. Unfortunately it wasn't something she really thought of as a leisure activity. At least in the game, since everything tasted like wet cardboard. Of course, she doesn't let that stop her from answering simply,

"...You don't have to hold yourself back from a nice meal just because I'm here. At the least, I get to save money by eating cheap since it's all the same anyways."

She sighs, wondering if they'd ever decide on something, as Azykia talks about venturing.

"Oh right, Azykia. I had some stuff I wanted to try that I, kinda can only really test with you...since, I don't know anyone else who can see, or, sense magic like you do. Best case, I might have something you can use to help navigate even with nobody around. So...maybe after we decide on food, a bath, or...whatever, we can find somewhere a bit quieter."

Speaking of noise, she looks around at everywhere that's still raining, which is everywhere.

"On that note...shall we just get going? A bath house, or a restaurant, both are about the same to me. I'll go along with either, as long as you'll have me."

"What!? You cannot do things a taste!?" Celestine stared wide-eyed at this machine-person. Celestne may have been a pro at Terrasphere, but these machine people were brand new to her. She had no idea they couldn’t taste! Who would ever pick that race then!? They’d have to be completely mad!

"That is so tragic!" Celestine leaned in forward, seemingly about to hug Aroda, but then suddenly backing away again as she realized that would get her all wet. Not that she’d say it out loud.

"I can do a pretend nail polish with the magics!" Cel replied to Azzy, whispering a few words and then holding up the back of her hand. Her fingernails were suddenly bright… blindingly bright; as if she’d taken the sun and shoved it directly into the back of her hands. And then she retracted the magic just as quckly.

"I do not think it does a good combination with the hairs though. I like people to be doing the focuses of my hair. Anyway! Yes! Let us do us a food~"

Celestine led the three to the small bakery in Honeyhome. The smell was heavenly, as freshly-baked bread mixed with honey: a special recipe that made the bread taste like almost like dessert! Also on display were a few candies, cakes, and various teas. The place was also well-packed with people, who were all thinking the same: get out of the rain and enjoy a nice meal at the same time.

"Aroda, can you at least do things the smell? You do not want to be doing a miss of this smell…"

The girl did her best to look as directly towards Aroda's face as she could, but as always never really quite hit the mark. "Really? You were working on something like that with me in mind? Truly, Aroda, you are the kindest of souls!"

As Celesis's nails were light to such a magical brightness right in her face, she winced and shielded her eyes as her head turned to the side. "Perhaps less painful nail polish is in order, but I'm happy for you nonetheless!"

As the trio entered the humble bakery, Azykia gave a bitter smile as Celestine mentioned not wanting to miss the smell. Obviously, staying in Honeyhome for a few weeks, she had ventured to every place with a satisfying smell about it with great intrigue. As it turns out, sometime right before Red Fever she had lost her sense of smell and just never really got around to telling anybody.

So she wouldn't. Instead she played along, much like her honorary sister had been doing with her magic up until this point. "It wouldn't be Honeyhome without the intimate use of honey in the cuisine. I believe once a week you can find something like honey butter biscuits somewhere around town, although I have yet to actually find it for myself..."

Despite not being able to smell, she was excited to try tasting the food with Illusion magic under her nose this time. "If you wouldn't mind ordering for me, one of you, I only ask that my food be something flavorful."

Aroda a smiles a 'but you eat ice cream every day' kind of smile.

"Yeah, I can still smell things. With food that smells good, it does a good job making it more disappointing when I can't taste it."

She half sighs, half laughs, not wanting to completely drag down the atmosphere here. She checks out the menu a bit, but considering she had no reference for how good any of the food was here, she decided she could leave Azykia's order to the other one who could taste. As far as her own order, she picked whatever sounded the most boring. Like, icewich boring. As she ponders how boring it is, a question comes to her mind that she just needs to ask before they all got into the particulars of what's been going on with Azykia being gone for so long...which she kind of hadn't noticed due to her own sporadic activity.

"So...Celestine. That's an, interesting accent. Where are you from, exactly?"

Celestine was suddenly under the realization that she seemed to be the only one of the three girls truly enthused about the many amazing pastries available. Here she was practically drooling over the fresh, flaky, doughy wonders, and her two buddies were just all "whatever" about it!

"I am seeing that I must do the enthusiasm for all the three of us~" Cel thus declared, hands on her hips. "Hello miss!" Celestine called out to the lady at the counter who was precisely as wide as one would expect of someone constantly surrounded by incredible food. "I would like to do the order of a sausage roll, and a butter crescent! And uhm… whatever she is wanting. I will do the pay."

As Celestine heard her name spoken, she turned to Aroda and clapped her hands together in delight. "Oooo, backstory!" Placing a hand on Aroda’s shoulder, Cel thrust her hand out towards the sky above the ceiling.

"Many of the moons ago, the distant star did a travel through the many worlds! But she was being herself the lonely star, and did a looking on the Terrasphere, and did the liking of the peoples she was seeing there. So she did a castaway of her stardom, and did the falling to this realm to be making the many friends, like the Azzy and now the Aroda~!"

"Ah, I have the opposite problem. To tell the truth, I also lost my sense of smell, at least in the traditional sense. Now I can smell magic, and it usually smells really good with whatever I'm eating. You have my sincerest condolences, Aroda." She really couldn't just tell someone it was their fault for picking the race they decided to, since she herself didn't pick anything about her character.

Azykia listened with perhaps just a bit too much interest in Celestine's sudden backstory moment, always blown away by just how good at playing that goofy persona of hers she was. It was enough to remind her of what the distant star said about learning to do it for herself momentarily.

The blonde girl raised a hand to her cheek, giving a whimsical smile. "Meanwhile, this star couldn't see where she was going and crashed here on accident." She joked at Celestine's expense, though she hoped she would still find it funny. She probably wouldn't, though. Azzy wasn't exactly renowned for her hilarity.

"I...see."

She sighs ever so lightly, propping her head on her hand as Celestine explains her 'backstory', then looking to Azykia and chuckling a bit as she explains hers.

"Right. And this star was going through life, in a state of existence most starcalled would describe as 'American', before discovering this...'world', and deciding to give 'crashing down' a try."

With a shrug, she continues,

"That was more what I meant, anyhow. I don't really have a 'backstory'. I'm just here to explore and learn more about Terrasphere when I have the time. It's such an interesting thing, y'know? Who would make something like this, with so much effort and..."

She pauses, stopping herself before she goes on about what a wild existence a 'game' like this is. It probably wasn't the time or place to be going on about it. Shaking her head, she just goes back to talking at Azykia,

"Anyways...you can't smell now, either? You going for a full house or something?"
