"Refusing to listen and actively going for what we tell them to avoid." Hanno said, then gestured to his shield. "Do you have any idea of how many times this shield defended someone that was reckless charging toward a monster instead of someone that was just being ambushed or attacked from behind? It is crazy. That's why I think we can't just work on getting people away from the game, but also working on a way to get people that refuse to get out of here to remain alive." Hanno explained, and then looked up at Cleo, letting out a sigh.

"You and me included. We aren't here for the same reason as they are, and I will be open with you about a few things." Hanno said, looking at her and knowing she would probably see him as someone crazy or an idiot after what he was going to say next.

"I have no idea how people stay logged in this game after dying out there. I don't know if they are just... Fragments of collected memories, or something weird like that. Or if there is something deeper in it. But there are people that I love in here... And they can't leave anymore." Hanno frowned. "I need to make this world a better place for these people too." He said, breathing out a sigh when he realized she wasn't going to accept his condition.

"Honestly, I wasn't expecting you to accept it, so I will just train with you anyway." He said. "It isn't like I will skip a chance of making you stronger and less likely to die while helping others just because you refuse to have fun." He grabbed a drink to take a sip before continuing.

"Just... Make sure you are resting, okay? You have your life out of here too. You need to have some time to yourself." Hanno said.

Well, luckily I've not really run into the issue of having to defend somebody doing something insanely reckless yet. My cases have all been people being unlucky, or just misreading a situation. Plus I haven't travelled too far from the starting areas for more than a short amount of time, so maybe things are worse the further out you get.

Maybe it was a case of people believing that they were strong enough to handle everything and getting complacent with things, forgetting to take proper precautions and other such things. She chuckled as she remembered something though.

The worst case I saw was a girl who just didn't know that she needed to do stuff like eat and drink. She was fine after I gave her some water.

She took a swig from her own water, listening as Kanno admitted to his thoughts, some of which she shared whilst others she couldn't relate to. Nobody she loved was stuck in this game, so she had no reasons to try and make it a better place.

Maybe it was bitter of her, to care less about the people that were already UI-locked, but she just found actual players easier to prioritize. They were, after all, alive.

Sounds good to me. I'll never turn away a chance to practice and get stronger. But you needn't worry about me so much. I'm a grown woman and I'm not likely to make the mistakes that most players would.[/speech]

She flicked her wrist, navigating through her UI, eventually managing to send a friend request to Hanno.

There. This way you can let me know when you want to get some training done. I think you'll find me to be a pretty decent training partner. I'm pretty sure I could give a few veterans a run for their money.

Hanno couldn't help but laugh at the situation of the girl not drinking or eating food. "In her defense, almost no game asks you to eat and drink just like in real life," Hanno said, not expecting someone to know that as soon as they got into Terrasphere. "This game really could use some tutorial." He added, continuing to eat while Cleo spoke more of her thoughts.

"Grown-ass people are doing mistakes in this game, all the damn time, me included. I just happen to make fewer mistakes. I trust you won't run yourself thin though, it is probably just me being too concerned." Hanno shook his head, took a deep breath, and finished part of his meal. There was still plenty to go and Hanno was still as hungry as he was before, showing relentless gluttony.

At her words and friendship request, he was quick to accept and chuckle.

Notice

Hanno Futaba accepted your friendship request.

"Same to you, buddy, let me know when you want to do it. And of course, if you ever want to pair up to try to knock some sense into people getting in the game." Two persons would probably be more convincing than one.

"I wouldn't doubt someone like you would give a good ass kickin' at veterans. You just started and are already catching up on them." A grin crossed his lips.

That was true. She'd never seen a game be so anal about different things such as hunger and thirst and energy. It was actually pretty difficult to keep track of, especially energy. Energy seemed like a big one to watch out for, considering that the only way to actually restore it was rest. She'd yet to actually try to fall asleep in the game, she probably would never try. There was no reason not to just log out and then be productive in the real world, rather than taking a nap inside of the video game.

Of course, being grown doesn't mean that a person is immune to mistakes, but I like to think that I'm at least immune to most pitfalls that most gamers would fall into, considering that I'm not much of a gamer myself.

It did mean that she wasn't exactly likely to get killed looking for things like rare loot, or trying to gain achievements, or whatever was popular amongst gamers. Cleo didn't actually know, but that just meant that she was less likely to make those mistakes, since she wasn't treating Terrasphere as just another game.

The accepted friend request was a good sign, though. At least they were still going to be working together. Cleo nodded, swiping her spear up as she stood up.

Sure thing. I have to head off now, but it was very nice to meet you, Hanno. Hopefully we work well together in the future.

With another nod, she shuffled out of her seat and made for the door, taking one quick glance at the Faerin man, before giving him a small wave and pushing her way outside, wandering off in the direction of the wildnerness, eager to get on the move again, in search of people that needed her.
