Kyra

The hare turned suddenly, causing Kyra to jump back in surprise, before seeing the look of confusion on the other's face. She wasn't entirely sure what she had expected, but Kyra had to calm her thudding heart as she listened to the hare's words.

"Oh...oh yeah, that might be it! Synra's Temple. I uh...I may have mis-heard...or mis-remembered...I uh...my bad?"

She nodded as the other continued, laying out a plan of action. Kyra wasn't sure what to make of a place called the Barkgrove - clearly she'd gotten that name wrong as well - but figured that Toko knew the area better than Kyra did, and to just trust the hare's instincts and guidance.

"That works for me! You know the area far better than I do, so I'll just uh...follow along, and all that."

She gave a smile and a slightly bow, trying to bring some humour to the situation. She was sure she looked like an idiot, but as she fell in behind the hare she realised she didn't care. She was travelling with a friend, which was more than enough. The soft smile that split across her face brought a new bounce to her step, her tail swishing softly behind her as she considered their new destination.

"So what's the Barkgrove like? Does it have lots of dogs?"

"Ah no, don't worry about it... it took me a while to get used to the name of some of the things around here too."

She hadn't meant to startle the purple fox, a faint pang of guilt crossing the hare's mind as a result, before she nodded as Kyra agreed with the plan that Toko had laid out for them. Thankfully it seemed the fellow beastkin was in a good mood, a fact that brought a smile to the hare's face.

"Hahah, well I'm sure there's a few wolves here and there... but no, it mostly gets the name due to the large amount of Snaketrees that grow in there." There was a pause, before Toko decided to tack on additional information—unsure if Kyra was familiar with those trees in particular—as she continued to lead the way towards their next destination. "Those trees grow so fast that they're often shedding the outer bark layer of their trunk, hence the snake name, and it causes the ground of the grove to be covered with a thick natural mulch layer."

The setting made it perfect for many odd roots and mushrooms to grow in the area as a result, and if memory served Toko she was sure a cluster of willows could be found just before the grove... probably why Lady Gertrude had suggested the place for the seeds.

Suddenly Kyra twisted to face Toko, walking backwards as she tilted her head. Her expression had taken on an appearance of curiosity, a question clearly on the tip of her tongue as she considered how best to phrase it. When she did finally speak, it was with a careful tone, the words chosen precariously as she played with the idea.

"So...you're a hare, right...? Does that mean that you...err...need to be worried about, like...wolves and stuff? Like...would you need to...like be worried about being...eaten? Or hunted...? I mean you smell kinda rabbit-ish, I guess. Not that that's a bad thing - it's just...a noticeable scent."

Her nose twitched as she spoke, an obvious sign that she was taking in the smell even as she walked away from the hare, careful to place her feet as she moved. She wasn't sure if it was offensive in any way - the overarching question, or the admittance of the fact that she could actually smell the other's scent. Although, Toko being a hare, maybe she can smell me as well. It's not like I'm the only one around here with these abilities, right?

Twisting back to face the direction that she'd been walking, she decided there was a far more pressing concern that needed to be brought up.

"I have no idea where we're going."

The phrase was simple, spoken without any sort of emotion or concern. Nothing more than a fact, brought to the attention of the other as Kyra realised that she was leading them onwards, but had no idea where they were going at all.

As Kyra turned to confirm with Toko, she found herself standing alone, on the edge of the walkway, more confused than she had been mere moments ago. Wait...but she was here just...?
