Max remained limp, no matter how much Doggo shook him around. No movements were mustered by him, even if he was somewhat stable, health-wise, it would hardly take long until his body would start giving away to the amount of damage it had accumulated.
The boy was still vaguely in there, however. Listening to the girl calling for his name, the faint touch of the nudges. Yet, he couldn't find a way to respond or reciprocate that worry. He could just feel and listen, with the little sensory reaction and consciousness he still had on him.
Slowly, his mind and senses blacked out, with nothing but a pitch black darkness engulfing him.
It was immediate, and almost eternal at the same time.
...
"Hey."
"... Max, right?"
"I knew it, your friend is calling for you. She may need you."
"Too tired? Not your friend? That's silly.
"I can see what you did for her, and what she did for you. If that's not friendship..."
"... I guess you, Starcalled, are really a strange bunch."
"... Is it really fine though..? You will die very soon."
"... A game? This isn't a 'game', Max."
"I see... What about her though? If you aren't there, she will be alone in a forest with a lot of goblins, orcs, and some other mean creatures."
"Not that much of a game anymore, huh?"
"Hey now, don't panic. I'm here to help you, but only if you help me out too."
"You see..."
...
The giant gem that rested on the monkey boy's back suddenly began cracking, with sparkles slipping through it before a shining beam escaped from the interior of the gem.
A rumble near it could be heard, and the cracking only started to spread further, soon surrounding all of the gem and turning it rather opaque instead of its slight translucency. Perhaps that gem was a fake one, one would guess, but as soon as it finally erupted, a blinding light engulfed the sight of any spectator, like a flashbang, giving after images on the eyes of the beholder until it slowly stabilized once again, with the shadow of a miniature woman cloaking their blurred sight.
It wouldn't take long for the figure become far more visible...
Hair soft and colorful like cotton, clothes faint and light like clouds, wings and antannae that fluttered and twitched like a curious butterflower.
That was the fairy that hovered slightly above the back of the boy, while around her, the Doggo, and the boy, a mix of teal and emerald colored sparkly cloud made sure to separate that small world to just the three of them to share.

"Fear no longer, small Caenis girl. Jade, the gem fairy is here!"
