It was a hard day's work, as Michel had went home from inspecting the workshop and even doing some blacksmith work himself. Although it was nothing much as compared to the projects that he was doing in Terrasphere, he always made sure that his every work was as beautiful and useful as could be. But of course, as in Terrasphere, more hours in actual work means that his rest meter was more depleted, and real life was more unforgiving in this aspect than in the game. Or "game", quotation marks included. He had already knew why the game was banned and it was for the good of almost all the people who would hear about it. He himself would only just play it because it tickled his fantastic desires but it would not be enough for him to abandon his wife and son for it.

He then decided to take a cold shower so that all of the stickiness from the long day's work be removed off him. And so to the bathroom he went, and then had his smartphone blasting rock instrumentals while he was taking a shower. But before long, the guitar that was making a mighty tune went mute all of a sudden, replaced with mere static. Michel then wondered why that happened, as he knew he had paid his monthly ad-free subscription for this year. He knew that if there was an ad, and there were voices of cute women in that ad, she would come.

The voice was indeed a cute woman, and she indeed came. Curse these ads in this part of Pittsburgh. More importantly, curse you Trinity, as Michel shouted in his mind, while his wife then tore through the shower curtains.

The End.

Katelyn Moore
6:25 AM.

Why am I still awake?

At her desk, a nineteen year old girl with pale hair leaned back in her gaming chair, twirling her electronic pen absently in her fingers. The screen of her PC displayed a finely articulated picture of a flower, guarded by a small dragon which encircled its base. The customer that commissioned this piece had requested it three days ago, and yet only now was this girl finally working toward finishing it. Admittedly, the customer had said that they didn’t mind how long it took; However, for Katelyn, a commission like this would normally take no longer than a day.

Was she losing her inspiration? Her energy? As she wondered about the reason behind the lack of motivation, the thoughts of her high school years flooded into the forefront of her mind, and she began to itch a particular place on her right hand, between the index and thumb of the hand’s back. She felt… numb. The lofi music that she had had playing in the background on YouTube had started to help her drift off to sleep, until…

"Heya how's it going viewers!? What's this silly ad interrupting huh? A sitcom? War movie? Superheroes? Ooooh, maybe murder mystery? Or just the boring old news?"

Kate’s eyes had shot open, and she looked at the screen, curious as to how a commercial was playing when she had bought premium. But the more that she watched, the more her eyes began to sparkle with inspiration. A whole world… limited only by imagination and willpower. The commercial had continued, selling greatly to Katelyn the more that she’d listen.

The girl on her video screen had vanished, and in her absence, a music video commercial and intro featuring the game TerraSphere 2 blasted through her headphones. Within mere moments, the girl was hooked. By the time that the commercial had ended, she was sent a notification by one of her friends, with a file attachment. And strangely enough, it was the game that she had just seen a preview for…

Wasting no time, she quickly converted and unzipped the encrypted code file, installing it for her rig as quick as she could, and went to lay down on her bed. Slipping her rig on, the girl had a smile of pure excitement and wonder on her face.

The commission can wait until tomorrow, was the last thought that she had, as her consciousness had entered the character creation.

Welcome, to TerraSphere.

Darcy's body hits her couch with a plop, a sigh escaping her lips as she stretches out her body over the cushions, grabbing the controller beside her. After finishing a day on the job, she was exhausted. Keeping up the smiles, playing off any negative emotions that she felt with a laugh, and dealing with any shit from your average annoying human- It was an average day for her in the hair stylist world. Whether it be someone online or a chatty client she had to deal with, she couldn't escape it, even if she wanted to. And how bad she truly did. How bad she wanted to rip a new one into anyone who made a snide comment at her, doubted her work, lied to her face-

But she couldn't. She would lose everything she worked for, everything that she did for her. And thus, she was stuck here at home, her only time to recharge any emotion as she stares blankly at the screen.

She scrolls aimlessly through a couple channels almost as if for fun, until suddenly she isn't in control anymore, "Hey, what gives?" She huffs in annoyance, sitting up slightly as she grips the remote tighter in her hand. It's then that a blue anime girl pops onto the screen, and Darcy pauses in her frustration as her gaze settles on the screen, drawn in by the ad for Terrasphere.

She watches quietly, soaking in all the information handed to her. Usually, she would laugh at something like this and wave it off as a waste of time, but... Something caught her. A new life. A place where she wasn't Darcy. A place where she could do whatever she wanted, without all the consequences of the world watching. And when the ad finally fades away, wrapping up with a CONNECTION REESTABLISHED followed by a trailer, Darcy watches on as the pictures reflect on her pupils, eyes unblinking as if she'd miss something important if she looked away. And then, it's gone, and a grin stretches onto her face, ... Video games are a good stress reliever, right? Hmmm...

She gets to her feet as she pulls her phone out of her pocket, finding a number in her contacts before dialing it quickly while heading towards the kitchen, "Hey, Tish? Yah it's me, Darcy... Do you know if any VR brands would be interested in giving away a headset for a promotion, or maybe some kind of deal? Yes, I'm being serious... Doesn't hairstyling in VR sound like a great idea?" With professional voice on, she quickly begins to weave together her plan for the easiest way to get her hands on her own headset. Little did she know that an e-mail was already sitting in her inbox, giving the other half that she needed: Access to Terrasphere.

Finally... She was free. At least, in VR she was.
