Personality
A pâtissier driven by curiosity towards a fantasy world with fantasy recipes and fantasy ingredients. Shuttling back and forth between the game and real life, Sylpha's main drive in life is to advance her skills as a pâtissier. She is very meticulous as long as it's about the culinary world, despite being very aware that the lack of technology in the game meant a lot of things having to be done through feeling.
As she isn't a gamer by any means of the word, she treats the world as a world but also fails to immerse herself deeply due to constantly remembering that it is ultimately virtual. However, there are a few signs of wish fulfilment in her character design: due to her height complex, her own character is much taller than she is in real life. To others, though, her height would look entirely normal.

Background
Born in Japan as a half-Japanese and half-Scottish, Erika Reid discovered her talents at baking early in her life and went to culinary school, where she continued to hone the talent. She managed to land a job at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Tokyo as pâtissier. Through continued efforts, she eventually moved to the branch in New York. Even though she was producing someone else's menu day by day, being on the team allowed her to grow as a chef and pâtissier. New techniques, new flavors, she had the time to work on them, though it would still take many years before she would have enough ability to open her own store.
She was never big on gaming to begin with, so imagine her surprise when a thumb drive fell out of her working cap one day at the end of her shift. Nobody owned up to it even after a week, so she took it home. However, she wasn't so curious as to actually open it, so it would be months until she plugged it into her computer wondering if she could obtain any inspiration for it.
As many back stories say: "The rest was history."
