The long haired girl turned to see the steel beam crash down beside her. She jumped feeling her heart jump out of her chest briefly. She turned and looked up at the way she came clearly unable to go back. "Damien...." She spoke softly with worry in her voice. Once again the spirit box going off and sounding drastically different. The room was beginning to smell of smoke and become foggy faster and faster. Thinking the door could be a potential exit, she went to tug on the door and found that it was stuck. There was absolutely no way to pull the door loose. Katherina coughed as she had been slowly inhaling the smoke without knowing about it. She banged and kicked on the door unable to get through or loosen it. "Dammit!"

Katherina turned to go back the way she came remembering that there was a beam in front of her. Panic was starting to overtake her. Perhaps it truly was the vengeful spirit that was doing all of this. To other explorers that wanted to have some innocent fun in looking around the abandoned theater must of found their deaths particularly in this area. She coughed covering her mouth as her eyes began to water. The smoke was becoming thicker and thicker. There was no way to pinpoint where the smoke was coming from either. She had never encountered something like this before. It was terrifying. In fact, some part of her thought about quitting this job entirely. Not if the spirits would turn around and try to kill her.

"Both will perish...." Hearing the voice, Katherina dropped the spirit box not wanting to hear anymore from it. The impact of it hitting the floor turned off the device making the static finally cease. Her only other option was to climb over the beam to get back to Damien. She ditched the spirit box and put her EMF detector into her pocket. She ran towards the beam expecting to climb over it but she felt a force suddenly get hold of her and yank her back where she hit the floor. It felt like she had just gotten the wind knocked out of her. Her head felt like it had just cracked against the ground. Her eye sight became fuzzy and her body seemed to protest after getting pulled back by something.

Her eyes suddenly closed as somewhere nearby a fire had actually started. The smoke was becoming thicker and darker but was not to be seen. Katherina seemed to feel herself fading away. Almost like the spirits were right in telling her this was the end of the line. There was no escape and no turning back.

So first thing was first-- he figured out exits. Sure, Damien's murderer he was after was still in here somewhere-- assuming he hadn't tried to escape already. He cared not for the teen that had been taken by the murderer. He snorted thinking how Katherina had taken a liking to him and claimed he was her business or some shit like that. Wasn't here nor there. He went through a corridor and came into the lobby area. Not like he cared for the front door approached or not he went to try the door. He let out a low growl when the door wouldn't budge. "Oh I see how this shit is." Had he been going to just leave and allow Katherina to perish? Who knew his thought process, the little demon was more about protecting the body that was his.

He sighed as he back tracked, he found more doors and tried each one--- same thing. Hell even the windows were shut like something was trying to keep them in. "Bloody ghosts. Yeah yeah" he muttered as he headed back towards the area that Katherina had left him in, or rather had left Damien in. When he had been was a small pool of blood that had happened when he had passed out not to mention the shreads of what had been his shirt. He had the makeshift bandages around the round and he had the leather jacket on top of that. He heard a soft banging coming from one of the walls. He rolled his eyes-- he had no EMF nor spirit box like Katherina did. He went towards the wall all the same and went to examine it for a soft spot. "Let's see what's behind here-- shall we." He easily found a hammer --- rather it had been there or not before... well it wasn't something he paid attention to. With all his strength he smashed the hammer repeatedly into the wall and then it began to crumble away as the wooden frame was destroyed. Nothing was behind it, not even a mouse. "Rather curious here, well have nothing else better to do than play detective."

The EMF reader spiked loudly inside of Katherina's pocket. The smoke was getting thicker and thicker. A guy had appeared as if the smoke didn't even phase him whatsoever. He seemed somewhat off in appearance, a slight almost shimmering effect as he moved through the smoke. He went to pick Katherina off and out of the charred and foul smelling fire starter of a place. The girl clearly had meant well, and allowing her to die here would be bad. He took her out of this area for her own safety purpose. That was when the shimmering male saw Damien or rather the little demon as he laid Katherina down on a couch. "I trust her safety with you. She has no reason to join the dead. You two should go."

"Yeah alright, though what do ya expect me to do about that? Hmm. Every exit in this whole fuckin place is blocked off and clearly no way out. Including trying to smash through windows."
Walls it seemed could be smashed through, but trying to do so through a structure such as stone and brick, that wasn't possible with just a hammer. "Leave that to me." He raised his eyebrow "yeah do whatever ya wish" he watched the shimmering guy disappeared and went to Katherina's side. "Guess this means I'm protecting ya too, stupid girl" he went to softly run fingers through her hair. She smelt heavily of smoke. So seemed something had started a fire here, and now he was stuck with the girl. Oh well. Would Katherina wake? What would she assume when she saw her brother-- but the person who was not actually her brother. This case of the haunted theater... it was becoming more and more complex.

Katherina wondered if she was going to die in the abandoned theater. Was this the case that meant the end of her life? Had this all been a set up? Why was her brother there? She had searched for him for so long but eventually gave up. She had nobody after leaving home. Her mother had passed away and she didn't want to be around her father know what type of man he was. Treating her mother poorly and secretly selling her brother to someone else and treating her like complete shit. It just wasn't fair. Why did her family in general have to suffer in the way that it did? Why couldn't things be better or had started over? Every question started with why. Why? Why would there never be a good and acceptable answer for these answers.

When she went down, she felt like she couldn't breathe. The theater must of been on fire somewhere. Her goal had been to get back to Damien and find a way out. Although knowing her brother and the way he was now probably wouldn't have gone so smoothly. If he was on a job trying to catch the bad guy then the odds were he would have wanted to complete the task. Oh then there was Nicky. In her state right now, she couldn't find him or even save him. It would be up to himself if he was still alive to save himself if he could. Maybe the spirits could help him out. Oh but who knew. There seemed to be dangerous spirits too that could be stronger than the good spirits.

Her eyes opened slightly to a blurry world. She couldn't quite see what was going on. There was a figure drenched in a shimmering white light. This was it. She had died. No. She wasn't dead but just incapacitated. Who was this person and where did they come from? 'I have no reason to join the dead? Is that what that person just said?' What about Damien? Was he safe too? What about Nicky and Jess. Hell even the murderer she hoped he would be safe for the simple fact that he could be caught and serve his time in jail. Her eyes closed again as the unconscious state washed over her.

Suddenly she saw herself being carried. She was having an outer body experience. Damien didn't sound like Damien at all. In fact she had no idea who this Damien was. And this shining person who was he? Where did he come from? Why was she watching herself from this angle? What was going on and why was it happening? Katherina looked up and now she clearly could see all the lost souls that had perished in the old theater. It ranged from different eras. Some of the souls looked like they even died while they were performing.

An overwhelming sadness came over her. She looked down and began to cry feeling the heavy emotions press down on her. In the end she couldn't help the lost souls cross over or even free them from from this awful place.

She wasn't waking and that made the little demon click his tongue. "I didn't come to babysit. What the fuck did he mean take care of it? Like hell." He was clearly just grumbling now, after all little demon had come from all Damien's trauma and it was a way of coping with it. The personality had grown stronger because of all that happened. Would it ever disappear though? What if Rudger died? Who knew at this point. He was impatiently tapping the top of the couch now. "Let's wake the sleeping beauty." He didn't mean like some Disney movie-- that might be going a tad too far. In the end Damien was Katherina's brother. It wouldn't be decent to do such, and it might cause more problems in the end. Why should he care? This was just like babysitting right now. At least he wanted her moving.

He leaned down and oh to outside sources it might look like the male was going to kiss the other but then he flicked her in the nose. "Oi, wake up. Now isn't the time to be some sleeping princess. When we might have avoided fire , all the doors and windows are lock. We are trapped in here. So waiting around is not what I fuckin plan to do. So wake the fuck up" he hissed out. To Katherina it might actually even look like her 'brother' was going to kiss her even. How would that be taken? Who the fuck care even. He was wanting her to wake up , and if it took some sleeping beauty way of doing it-- so be it. See the little demon could care less about a lot of stuff, the little demon was another personality completely and Damien's life wasn't technically his own. Split personalities could be complicated.

He shook her , not really caring if she was hurt or not. Though he hissed at his own injury. "Wake the fuck up. I can't carry ya. Not like I would." He had sort of slump over her, knee on couch. If the spirit box was there-- what would the spirits be saying? That was when it was like his knee gave out and lips did press to hers. It wasn't intentional. Now to Katherina in the in between world she was in. She would be able to see the chuckling two children near 'Damien'. "Whoopps" one stated and basically tried to sweep the other's leg from under him. This had been what produced the accidental kiss. Even if the little demon had been talking about Sleeping Beauty.

Why Katherina had been touched by the in between world like she was-- it wasn't truly clear. Though the sound of a mother scolding her two children for messing with the living. Just what had happened in this theater? Was it a connector to the other side? Was it perhaps the scene of many tragedies? If and when Katherina woke up-- surely than the two could solve the mystery together.

The in between of the spirit world... just what happened in the theater? Just how many spirits are actually revealing themselves now?

Katherina had beeen listening to Damien trying to wake her up. She stood there crossing her arms. "I am not waking up to you in that way. Have some fucking manners will ya?!" She was quite annoyed with whoever Damien was right now. It wasn't her sweet older brother she grew up and loved so much. It wasn't her older brother who ran around playing make believe games with her. Right now he was just an asshole. A big bully. She looked at Damien go and flick her nose then to shaking her shoulders. "Oh sure like that'll do the trick. You're doing so well...Not! Haven't you ever heard the expression of you'll catch more flies with honey than with vinegar? I think you oughta try that method."

The girl rolled her eyes and turned to the side seeing two children playing around with Damien making him loose his balance and fall on top of her. "Hey!" The brunette jolted and glared at the children. "Hey apologize right now! You can't make him kiss me like that! We're brother and sister! It's unnatural and not the way of things." She shivered not liking this version of her brother at all. "Ugh! Great! I'll have to go and wash out my mouth later on. Hopefully when I wake up I'll remember what I saw and forget about it much faster."

What was going on that she was in between the human realm and the spirit world? How was this even possible? "Oh I lost my spirit box...." She sounded really bummed and looked down. "That was a lot of money too. Damn it." Then she turned and look at the two ghost children. "Are you two spirits of this abandoned theater? What happened to the two of you? Why are you both still here and not passed on to heaven? Where are your parents?" She looked down at her EMF detector which was still beeping and turned on all the colors. A sure indication there were spirits around.

Looking down at herself, she shook her head. "Yeah no kidding! I'm technically a ghost right now myself." She looked over at Damien who seemed annoyed still that she hadn't woken up yet. "I'm working on it! I don't exactly know how either! Not to mention I'm looking at my own body. So quit yelling and swearing at me! Give me a fucking break!"

His lips touched hers as he fell, not really a kiss-- but it was something. An accident. He clicked his tongue as he looked around, he saw nothing. He could hear the EMF reader going off. "Yeah yeah . I know spirits are all around. What did I even do to get mixed up with this?" He didn't wipe his mouth from where he had basically kissed his sister. Well not really his sister-- it was Damien's. He didn't hear Katherina, but he could feel the coldness around him. "So what do ya bloody want me to do? Hmm? The sleeping princess isn't waking up and I'm not really wanting to carry her. There is no gun, not like I could use it -- if I was carrying her. Than of course the dagger does me such bloody good." He grumbled , the little demon hated being in such positions. Yet Damien was checked out for now-- but soon enough he would come back to take over, surely.

The two children looked at the other who was speaking directly at them. "It isn't like he can hear you, Miss" one of the children spoke. The one who had said 'whoops' looked at the female that had spoken. "Carrie, don't talk to her. She clearly won't get it." The girl half looked at the other. "To be fair, brothers and sisters -- it isn't that unnatural. Cory, you should be nicer to them both. Though the guy is fighting his own demons it seems. Though they aren't like our siblings..." She paused for a minute and sighed. "We can't move on to heaven , we're stuck here. All of us are. Though there are some bad spirits here too. They want to destroy all of us , take anyone who comes here down too." Cory went to put a hand over his sister's mouth. "Carrie, no more. You must not risk it for her." She wiggled away from her brother "but I want to help her! The darkness around her brother--- she needs to save him. She might even be able to save us all. Don't you want to be united with our family?"

A sigh left the male's lips "fine, but... if this somehow harms us...." Carrier put a hand on her brother's "it won't. She will protect us. Won't you, Miss? That is why you came here. Right? We can help guide you-- but in this form, it is more dangerous for you. Though you might not be able to see us if you aren't in this world too. First-- maybe we need to work with getting the darkness away from him." She went towards Damien and slowly went to touch him, gasping as dark tendril seemed to come off from little demon. "Carrie--- stop!" She shook her head "no, I'm fine, Cory. I'm fine. Just shocked me some.He needs to see us. He needs to. There has to be a way. Miss-- why don't you come here and try to connect with him. Grab his hands... please." How would the little demon take this? He seemed to feel something, but he just sort of glared right at the little ghost girl.

Katherina looked at both of the ghost children and was a little confused. They were able to see her and hear her. It was incredible and quote strange to not use any devices to communicate with them. Not that they would be useful to her now. The brunette nodded to them. "I originally came to this building to report back to them that indeed ghosts inhabited this place. I was also planning to exorcize...Err or rather help you all to cross over if I could." She sighed understanding Corey's point of view. Katherina wasn't dead so naturally he would think that she didn't care about helping them out.

"Darkness...." The girl looked over at her brother and sighed. Of course he had darkness in his heart and through out his mind. Their childhoods were anything but simple. Nobody knew their history better than they did. "I'm not sure I'll be able to. I've never been able to break through to him. Even now I don't know who he is..." Her voice sounded faint with a heavy sadness. "When I first stumbled across him in the building, he had no idea who I was. He couldn't recognize his own sister." Although she had grown to hide how she felt pretty well. It still hurt her.

Although she wanted to help Carrie and Corey and get them somewhere better. Lighter and warmer. They belonged in heaven where they could be happy and free. Hopefully they could be reborn again and live a better life. Katherina moved next to Damien and stood next to him just looking at him. She closed her eyes and memories flashed before her of them playing Peter Pan and even watching the movie together. She was almost afraid to touch his hand.

"No! I can't!" Katherina turned away and hugged herself accidentally brushing her arm against his. "He'll yell at me or something. I can't I'm sorry. I'll do this without him! Like I've done everything on my own!"

"You will never know unless you try" Carrie tried to reason with Katherina and Corey looked at his sister. "If she doesn't want , you can't force her. Do you really blame her, with this darkness. How do we not know one of the darker spirits hadn't possessed him and will try to absorb us next?" Corey might have had a point. Though than again no one , except maybe Katherina, knew just what had been endured in the past. Though even she probably didn't know the full extent of what had happened. to him. He had hidden a lot from her after all and four years had made it all the worse for the poor boy. "We don't know that , Corey! I don't think he is possessed by one of the bad ones. He would be able to see us if he was. Don't you think that would be one of the first things that happened if that was the case? Meaning it is just darkness.... trauma maybe."

Damien felt a jolt of memories and it woke him up from his slumber. Katherina. Something was wrong with Katherina. "Oi stop fighting me, damnit" little demon growled out as he felt the other stir in his mind. He refused to lose control "just go back to sleep, champ." The fight was clear and was on full display for the in between world where Katherina was at currently. "No--- she needs me. Rina needs me.." It was clear the struggle was playing out. "She is dead. Stop with this shit. She is just dust. Stop with the hope that the girl isn't gone." Carrie stepped back some , going to put an arm around Katherina. "You don't need to do this yourself. Sometimes it is better to be strong and lean on others like your brother. He needs you just as much as you needs him. Can't you tell? It isn't a spirit possessing him, but this persona is dark and threatening to take over and absorb him. If you want your brother to stay with you--- you need to be stronger than this. You need to help him, Miss."

"She isn't dust-- no fairy dust. She didn't drift away"
pants left him as he finally got control back. Except when he saw through those red-brown eyes was a very very complicated scene. First he saw Katherina's body on the couch and he rushed over to her. "Rina.... Rina... please" he got out slightly shaking her though what really got him was when he saw the three in the in between world. He felt tears sting his eyes. "No. No. No. No. Rina-- don't die. You can't die. You can't. Please don't die on me. I can't lose you.." Carrie smiled "see he needs you-- and you did it. There is connection, just finish it and everything will be okay to proceed. Wouldn't hurt to kiss even- it isn't wrong." Corey sighed "Carrie..." she giggled and put a finger to her lips. Were these spirits actually good ones that would guide them or was there more to them? "Go to him, Miss Rina."

Damien had seen the figures, and it made his fragile state crack and he was hugging Katherina's body to him as he sobbed. "Rina, please... don't go to Neverland. You aren't allow-- not without me. We made the promise remember....? Rina... you can't die. No. Don't leave me alone... I just got you back." Well how would this end up , there was no yelling. No Damien couldn't-- he just was sobbing. If he yelled it was for her to not leave him. He couldn't be alone. "I don't know why,.... but... we need to somehow get out of here together. Meaning you can't leave me. Rina... I need you."

Katherina slowly watched as she could physical change between little demon leaving Damien and bringing back her sweet loving brother that she has always loved and searched for. Her body laying on the couch did seem like a sad sight to behold. If nobody knew she was actually still alive in the spirit world, they would think she was dead. Hearing his voice calling out to her and pleading for her to return to him really broke her heart. He must of been going through the fear of thinking he was loosing his little sister and being all alone in the world.

The brunette approached the male and grabbed his arm and pulled him up. "Damien? It's me Rinabelle." She smiled using the nickname he gave her. "I'm right here with you. I haven't left you at all. Hear my voice and feel my hands." She put her hands against his and wrapped her fingers around his to hold them tightly. She grabbed his chin to pull him away from looking at the body to look at her ghostly appearance. "The spirits need me to help them out but I can't do this alone. I need my older brother to help me save the spirits that deserve to go to heaven. Will you help me my dearest Peter Pan? My Damien." Katherina looked down feeling the tears well up in her eyes. She was beginning to cry. Something she always seemed to do regardless of being happy or sad. Tears were always streaming down her face.

The girl looked over at Corey and Carrie who looked like they were watching the scene of a movie. The moment was intense and she really wanted to help all the spirits. Carrie had been right though. It was easier for her to work with her brother as a team. There was too much happening. A murderer on the loose with Nicky as his hostage. Jess was missing and so far nowhere to be found with slight evidence that made it a bit unsettling. And of course there was all the spirits both good and bad that surrounded the abandoned theater. It was way too much for one person. Even with another living person and two ghost children the challenge still remained at large.

Katherina took in a deep breath and looked at her breath. She leaned in close to him and put her lips to his in a rather quick kiss. Pulling away, she smiled and stroked his cheek. "Please Damien stay with me for a little while okay? I've missed you so much." She then hugged him and nuzzled her head under his chin. "Your other personality....He scares me so much. But I really need to spend some time with you my one and only brother."

He couldn't stop the tears from coming more and more. This was the second time, but this time she wasn't disintegrating via some mind trick from the little demon. No she was lying so still on a couch and she was dead. Damien did see the spirits, including his sister, thus why he ended up breaking down. Though any person with a shred of sanity would link seeing their sister's body and her spirit at the same time as -- well she was dead. That and also that they were losing their mind. Though Damien had seen plenty of shit thanks to the little demon. His sanity had long left , so it wasn't too odd to accept that his sister was dead. Okay not accept it-- but to assume she was dead. He couldn't stop the tears. This was his fault that she was like this.

He was being pulled up from how he kneeled by her side, holding her close. He was basically forced to release the other when the other had pulled him up. "No... no... no" he sobbed out. This wasn't real. This couldn't be real. Though it was her voice, her touch. Wait..... how was he able to feel her? His red-brown eyes had to look in her ghostly appearance as she forced his chin to look up. Tears kept falling , this was too much for the poor guy. Though it was something she would indeed say. She was a dreamer, someone who thought more of others than herself. The siblings were both broken in different ways. "I... but... I..." he got out unable to even make any type of words that truly sounded like an English sentence. Now both of them were crying.

The other two spirits were quiet, watching and waiting. Something didn't feel right to him-- though Katherina wanted to help... wanted his help. If a sentence wasn't capable before, after the rather quick kiss -- it left him just staring with his mouth open. What did he do? He looked like a deer stuck in the headlights with how he was. Wait.. other personality. "You've... met... the little demon" his words were slow as if he had to focus on each syllable leaving his lips. A finger went to touch his lips. Damien might had changed, but he was still someone who would do anything for his little sister. She was his world and some might have stated that he had some type of sister complex. Though now he was just sort of confused on what to do with just so much.

Carrie giggled "I think you broke him, Miss Rina. He is sort of cute like that though." Damien's red brown eyes went to see the two young children. "This isn't real. I know I have a little demon in my head... I know it talks to me. The voices talk to me-- but ghosts.. seeing ghosts.. this is different than that. This isn't my h...h...head this is-- how is this even possible?" He sniffled "and ... but you are ... your body... how?!" He was having a mental break and it was clear. "Now click your heels and--" Carried started with a giggle. Damien sort of groaned well it was a frustrated noise all the same. "Peter Pan not Wizard of Oz. Get the story right if you are gonna try to bring it up. There is no clicking anyone's heels. And how is it I'm suppose to do anything and leave -- how about body. Why am I..?" His voice just sort of went off. Now he was just grumbling. "I feel like I just hit my head too hard and all of this will end up being some fever dream or something. Though sure I'll play along. I still have to catch the murderer all the same. When did this become a ghost hunt though? What's next killer easter bunny trapped in here too?"

Corey sighed "it was a lot more quiet without him seeing. He isn't like Chris at all." Damien huffed "I never claimed to be like this Chris or anything. So would someone like to bloody fill me in if I'm gonna work with ghost in this overly crowd theater case that I gotten involved in." Though he was holding Katherina close to him, even though he was freaking out. He kissed at her neck so softly. "Is this right though? I... mean I missed you more than anything. You've grown up , no longer the little girl who would play Tinkerbell. Truly beautiful." He flushed as he spoke those words. Both siblings were very broken and had been so lonely. Sure the little demon had been vastly active with Damien's body-- but poor shy little Damien was the one in control. He didn't go out to have hook ups and he had believe that when they had met at Dreamland to perhaps have been a fever dream or something the little demon had showed him to fuck with his head. This could be too, but then again it was all too real. The little demon didn't have this much control and oddly no voice spoke or hummed... no but he felt something was wrong. He couldn't put his finger on it though.

When Damien finally came around and Katherina got his attention she gave him a smile. Oh how long it had been since she had actually seen him smile. Her thoughts of Damien were all of their younger days because that was all she's known. They were very much overdue in catching up and talking to each other. She had so much to tell him regarding about their family. She also just wanted to know what he had been doing in his life and why it was he left Virginia Beach. All of that would have to come another time. Perhaps later if they actually survived this situation they were in.

Katherina laughed a bit as Carrie spoke about a reference from the Wizard of Oz and Damien quickly to correct her that it was Peter Pan. That was their thing. She did like the Wizard of Oz but Peter Pan is what helped the duo get through their tough childhood with everything that had happened. Peter Pan was their hero they would hold forever in their hearts. The brunette smiled at her brother and hugged him holding him close. Sure she may be in a spirit form but his energy was warm. The fact she was close like this with her brother filled her up with warmth as well.

"I have so much to tell you and to talk to you about. I looked for you for so long." Her eyes moved over to the ghost children as time was ticking against them. "Damien I know it sounds silly being a ghost hunter as you or Little Demon has said but it is important." She pulled away and held his hands in her. Her thumbs drawing little circles over the tops of his hands. "Some investigators bring someone with them to help better communicate with the spirits in hopes they can send them to a better place. To help them cross over. They need to be set free."

Looking at Carrey and Corey it seemed that these two had a history with each other. They looked like they also could have been siblings. Katherina couldn't just leave them trapped in a place like this. "Before we can help them though we have to find Jess and Nicky...If they are both still alive. Then you have to find that other person for your job right?" She sighed and looked down. "We have a lot to do." Katherina wondered if she would to remain in this spirit form or would she be taken back to her body. Pulling away from her brother, she went over to look at her unconscious self on the couch. "It's a bit strange standing and talking to everyone here but seeing myself asleep in that form-" That was when her heart skipped a beat.

Perhaps Damien crying and sobbing wasn't all out of place. She looked at her brother with wide eyes and then at the ghost children. "H-Hey....I'm not right? I'm not dead....Am I?" Although she had told Damien that she wasn't dead she wasn't sure if she had actually confirmed that for herself. "No I can't be. I think I would know. I would feel it and I don't feel that way at all."

A lot of things were overdue to be spoken about. Though was now really the time or place to catch up? She had slight heat to her , but she was also somewhat cool. It was very unreal being able to touch her like this, but her not being fully there. Her physical body lying on the couch-- yet she had said she wasn't dead. "It wasn't probably the best to look for--" he started and then she said about little demon. He couldn't help but frown slightly. He didn't even know what little demon even was-- and yet she was referring to it as just being in the conversation without bating an eye. She really did have a silly idea with this ghost hunting--- but she was his precious little sister. He wouldn't laugh at her, but could she maybe have picked a little better profession. Was ghost hunter even an official profession? Or was it just some hobby?

His mind was racing with a lot of things, he couldn't help but have his mind racing at all the thoughts that came from his sister being around like this. Sure his job wasn't really the best either-- but he had tried to do legit jobs. His life didn't actually allow for him to do legit things-- he had tried. This was the only job that could care less what he was like sanity wise. As long as he did what they wanted of him-- he could be as insane as one could be. He took in a small sigh "yeah still need to find the murderer that is on the loose somewhere in this theater. One thing is no one is going anywhere escape wise-- so he is about somewhere. I doubt he would kill Nicky--- unless the teen annoyed the fuck out of him, then he would probably kill him." That was when Katherina began to have a breakdown , well more so mentioning about what had caused his breakdown.

"Answer her now you two" his voice shook slightly. Carrie went to pat the other on the shoulder. "Miss Rina worry not. You aren't dead-- just in a state." Damien had been around Rudger too much to know how the girl's voice hung in the air-- the single word that was unsaid-- yet. He couldn't stop a soft growl as he glared at the children. "Tell the truth instead of half truths. How the bloody hell do I get my sister back to life. Speak or helping you two little gremlins can go bloody flying out the door. So speak now or I will find a way to make you speak and it won't be something that you will find too pleasant." He gave a little smirk.

Corey seemed to get protective over Carrie. "You can't hurt us. Though fine I'll answer, Mr. Demon. Yeah yeah she isn't dead yet. Though she will die if she is in that state when a full day has passed. Though not sure if you know-- but the outside world as it is locked away... time runs differently here. It doesn't matter either way, you will end up dying too. No one has ever escaped this hell hole alive." Damien glared , he had gotten his information that he wanted and he went to turn Katherina's head away from her body. He tilted her chin and gave her a soft kiss-- fuck did it feel weird, but at this point he just wanted to distract her. "I won't let you die completely, Rinabelle. You aren't allowed to leave me again. So like hell am I letting these bloody gremlins run the damn show. Come on. We will do things our way. I will help ya-- but like fuck am I letting some fucking spirits dictate if I live or not."

He went to pick up his sister's unconious body "let's go kill some evil spritis I guess. Save the good ones -- if there are any good spirits in this god forsaken place actually. I'll catch and collect the murderer. We find the two teens and then get the fuck out of here." It sounded easy how he spoke it, but well it wasn't. "Come on Rina, the grimlins aren't worth ya time. They can't be saved-- those who lie in half truths are never decent deep down. Come on."

Katherina watched as Damien picked up her body and start walking away. "Damien!" She called out to him in hopes of stopping him from leaving. It was an unsuccessful attempt. She quickly turned to the children and put her hands up looking at them. "Let me go and talk to him." The brunette turned and ran after him as her long hair followed her every moment. It took a moment or so for her to catch up to her older brother and he had been talking about finishing the task by himself. "Damien wait up!" She stepped a couple of steps ahead of him and turned to see him carrying her body. She moved to the side and watched him go by her.

"They're just like us you know..." She turned walking and following him closely. "If you're worried about me staying in this spirit form, I promise it won't happen. I won't let it." It was hard to see innocent spirits as well as children stuck in such an ominous place. "I agree with you that we will catch and collect your murderer and save the good spirits and exorcize the bad ones but that means we technically save them too." Her mouth was moving fast in case she would get cut off from him.

Carrie and Corey were still on her mind. She got the feeling that they were just like her and Damien. Never knowing what love was and learning to love each other. She wondered what happened to them for them to become trapped in the theater and for them to die at such a young age. It was quite sad that they had their lives stripped away from them like that. In fact it was rather unfair. The brunette turned to see if they were following them or just to see if anything was happening behind them.

"We have to help them Damien because it's my job too!" She ran ahead so that she could once again walk with him. "A ghost hunter is more than just a person investigating. They also cleanse the area and help the spirits that want to be helped. Since Carrie and Corey came forward, I can't just ignore them. You and I are stronger when we work together. I know we can overcome this difficult task." Originally Katherina would have returned after investigating the place and then returning to finish the job to help with the other spits. Of course now that they were trapped and she was see through, things had to change a little bit.

His sister went about shouting for him to stop-- he wouldn't have it. He just continued to carry her body with him as he walked away. He wasn't about to deal with this , not unless he was on his terms. He didn't trust them. Why couldn't Katherina figure this out? "They aren't just like us" he huffed slightly as she went to follow him closely. Good, let her follow him now. He didn't need her to stay behind with the children. They might look sweet and innocent, but they were really gremlins. He rolled his eyes as she continued to try to reason with him. He didn't care and just spoke over her , even as her mouth moved fast to get in all she needed to say. "Fine you can save them that way-- but those gremlins don't need any bloody help."

He stopped as she came to run to catch up with him. "This difficult task? I didn't say I wouldn't bloody help you with this task. Though when it comes to those gremlins--- they aren't worth it. You can ignore them, and I think you should. They came forward sure, but do you not know what happens usually in this case? Every bloody movie about ghosts -- there are always ghosts that will try to fool you and then they strike. I. Don't. Trust. Them. You can not live with your head in the clouds , Katherina. Especially if you are gonna be some bloody ghost hunter. That is how you get yourself killed, you can't trust every bloody soul you meet. Having compassion is good, but this isn't Neverland-- the rules of things don't work like it does there."

A sigh left his lips "look I don't want you dying on me. That means the time frame shit and of course by evil spirits. I will help on my terms, and only my terms. End of the discussion. So come along. We are gonna go kill some evil sons of bitches. Save people and hunt things." He was trying to get her off the topic of Carrie and Corey. He didn't want to discuss it anymore. Katherina really did have a good heart, and that hadn't changed since they grew up. He could still see the little girl he used to protect in every way. She was too precious for the world, he couldn't allow their father to touch her. He couldn't allow her to come to harm. He took the abuse from their father, he kept it from her. The world had never been kind to them, but he had tried to protect her with a world of magic.

"Look, you can do your job. Though be smart about it. Must I remind you that there is not only a murderer loose in here. There are also bloody evil spirits out here. Or have you forgotten that I was injured by one. Now with you being in this spirit world or whatever the fuck it is--- that means we have a ticking clock now. That's it... ticking clock." He never put her body down. "Rina! Captain Hook. The crocodile. Check your phone!" Though had time stopped for technology or would she be able to tell what time it actually was? Could they set a ticking clock of how much time they had left to solve this case before Katherina ended up dying for good.

"I do agree we are stronger together, but we gotta do it my way. I might not be some ghost hunter-- but I've dealt with enough weird arse shit that I am more adapt with dealing with spirits that are murderous. Look I've already found one victim of our wonderful friends on the other side. Ran straight through the heart with a pole. Then according to you-- that annoying teen's girl went missing. The murderer has the annoying one. Are you starting to see that this isn't just some ghost hunting now. It has turned into murder and kidnapping. I don't believe I told you why I was here looking for the murderer. It is a job I got. I'm a bounty hunter-- I work with whoever the fuck wants me. I haven't failed yet, and don't plan on it now. Nor do I plan on dying or letting you die. So we are gonna find a safe place for your body-- or hell find a way to continue to carry it around as we play ghost hunter and detective." He had his mindset and wouldn't break it. He was stubborn. "So come on now."

Katherina stopped and watched as Damien went on carrying her unconscious body in his arms. She looked down feeling her eyes grow wet with tears. It wasn't fair. How could he be out of her life for so long and return telling her what to do and how to do it. Just because he was the older brother? She continued walking behind him but at a slower pace. She didn't believe Corey and Carrie were bad or gremlins as he put them. Yes, she was aware that some spirits were responsible for tricks and deception. She had done her research. Yes, she was still learning and reading up on all things paranormal. Back at her house in Virginia Beach where she resided were more books that she had not read. She only took a couple or so books whenever she did jobs like this.

Despite all that has happened, the brunette tried to keep her hopes up and remain optimistic. Although her brother was right in the sense it wasn't mere ghost hunting anymore. There was more at work than they know. She heard the sounds of weeping as she stopped and turned around. What beheld her was a sight that was truly heartbreaking. She could see all the spirits that were now trapped in the abandoned theater. There must have been more than fifty of them. Men, woman, teenagers, young adults and children. They ranged in different shapes and sizes and different colors of skin. Their faces appeared to be tired and worn out with teers that kept weeping down their faces uncontrollably. They seemed lost and helpless. These ghosts or rather spirits were not playing a deception game. This was the real deal.

Catching up to Damien, Katherina finally made it to his side and looked at her body in his arms. Her head laying against his chest as her body cradled against him. Her legs dangling and her body jolting slightly from the pace of his movement. "Why do you get to decide what I can and can't do?" Her voice was sharp yet loud enough for him to hear. "Why do I have to follow your directions all the time?" Then suddenly Katherina moved and stopped him in her tracks and looked up at him. Tears clearly coming down her ghostly face which mimicked her unconscious body. As tears streamed down her face in his arms. What a weird connection it all was and she didn't quite understand it.

'That's it Katherina....Give it back to him. You are so much stronger than he gives you credit for.' That voice had come back. She wasn't sure when it developed or when she started hearing it but it seemed to have her best interest in heart. At first it told her to pretend to not know who Damien was and it had worked until things got bad and she lost her composure. Perhaps the voice had always been with her but up until recently, she never heard of it. Could she be like Damien in the fact there was someone else residing deep withing her mind? Were her thoughts and ideas and memories no longer her own? Did she also possess a little demon of her own? The thought truly scared her to think she was becoming more and more like her older brother. She sighed and closed her eyes for only a moment. 'Don't let him control you any longer. He was never around for you. He abandoned you. He left and never came back for you. He doesn't care at all about you.'

"Do you think I care if I die? Rather on the job or just going about my daily life; I don't care! Because heaven or hell whatever could be awaiting me is better than this miserable world." Her voice cracked as she was suddenly starting to loose herself. Her emotions spiraling down, down, down. This was a side that Damien never encountered before. This was a side that Katherina had never shown to anyone. "I used to think that my big brother loves me so much and he'd come back for me at some point. How stupid of me! Even as I got older I used to think I'll be rescued someday. But you only cared about yourself. Now that I'm grown up it has all become so clear to me. There's no such thing as Peter Pan or Neverland. It's all childish nonsense!"

Now Katherina was full on crying as her body copied her emotions. "I don't need you anymore Damien! You've forgotten all about me. Don't think for a minute that I wouldn't know what would happen next. Once this was over and figured out you we would go our separate ways. And then like a little girl I would be crying for my older brother to stay with me and begging he doesn't leave me alone. But guess what it all ends the same damn way!"

She breathed heavily through her words. "With or without you, I'm going to do what I WANT to do. Even if that means I die trying!" She pushed passed Damien with enough force for him to loose his balance as she ran back to the so called gremlins. Back to Corey and Carrie determined to help everyone out here.

The thing was Damien had her best interest in mind. Katherina was real, she was here. He had already lived through several instances where he had lost her-- both real and in his mind. He had done everything in the past to protect her from danger. He knew not what happened after he was taken away. How could he? He didn't have some mysterious sense or way to know what had happened after he was taken away. Her life might have become worse, seeing as he was protecting her from all the bad before. Perhaps maybe their parents had maybe given more of a damn about the child they had left. Perhaps nothing had changed. He had been forced to travel and stick with some bastard who couldn't have given a single fuck about him. Though he always told himself one thing... it could have been Katherina that he had taken instead. He had never stopped thinking about his sister and what had become of her. It had hurt because it had always been there against the world.

Hell, he had even thought of trying to escape one day and go to rescue her-- take her away. They could find a way to get away and live. Except he had learned that trying to run from Rudger wasn't something easy. They had met in Virginia Beach by pure chance, and he hadn't remembered it truly. His mind had tried to rationalize it because of what the little demon had done-- what it had showed him when they were in the back room. Seeing his little sister dying and drifting off like dust in the wind, it had only screwed with his mind more than what had already been done from the abuse of their father and what Rudger had put him through. Years had passed since then and they had met here. His mental state wasn't sound by any means-- but he still had meant the best for her. He always had. She was looking at spirits, tons of them-- all weeping. Who knew what went through her mind, because shit began to change drastically after that. Both physical and non physical body were crying. Those words were sharp.

"I... Kat--" he started as she spoke and looked at the tears that both bodies cried. He hardly could even think of words. He just wanted her safe, he wasn't doing any of his words as a means to control her. He actually looked like his sister had slapped the hell out of him when she spoke those words. "But..." he tried again and she continued. "Don't say that! You don't mean that..." his voice had cracked some. At least he was able to say those words. How had the words he had spoken been twisted into those? His mind was quiet and he didn't like it. There was no voice taunting at the back of his mind since he took back over. Just what the hell was going on now? Katherina was acting like a spoiled little brat, a true child. Though weren't both siblings somehow stuck in some sense of mind?

"You don't know any of that?!" He was pushed pass and he just stared at her completely stunned as she ran back the way they came. The force had actually sent him back some and his grip upon her body loosen, even to the point where he couldn't catch her body as it went towards the ground. "N...no no" he got out as he sank to the ground to collect her body and hold it close to him. He was trembling. If his mind had allowed him to think things through-- he might realize a few different routes that could have caused this. Though no what Katherina had done was leave a broken shell of her brother behind. He didn't realize the tears that collected in his eyes and slowly rolled down his face.

He slowly rocked and hugged the other's body. Tick tock. He had only been trying to do the right thing. Was all of this because he was some failure of a brother? "Guess it doesn't matter... there is no such things as fairy tales. Who replaced my sister...." He sniffled and looked at the body he carried in his arms. "Is that even her? Maybe you're the real Katherina and whoever that was is an imposter. The gremlins had to have done it... right?" He hadn't even gone to stop her, no he had been too stunned to do so. He did pull out his phone to check the time. 2:34. So they had a few hours before daylight came. He got up sniffling as he did. Still nothing , but he spoke to himself anyways. "Perhaps it is all meant to stop me in the end. To throw everything off." Though what if time was broken. Who knew. Wait.. hadn't it been around nine when he had come here? How... was his phone broken? There was no way they had been in this place for five hours. Even then, wouldn't things have set off at midnight?

There was a murderer still, and if Katherina wanted to do her own shit-- let her. Was she no different than Jane was-- suddenly not believing in Peter Pan and Neverland. He sighed "let her go off.... yeah she can do as she pleases. I have the real one... I won't let go. I'll solve this if I have to alone." He let out a sad chuckle as tears fell once more. "How did this become like this? Don't lost boys just grow up to be pirates in the end? Guess you can't stop growing up. Even for someone of pure heart that believed in pixie dust and magic." He was lacking a gun and now his sister's soul or whatever the fuck actually was the one who ended up throwing some temper tantrum and storming off. "Maybe the gremlins corrupted her, yeahh that could be it. I don't trust them, I'll never trust them." Sometimes paranoia did pay off. Though would it be the case here?

They should never split up-- it was the number one rule. Any horror movie played it out. Also never call out or go into the basement. "That's it, the basement." Though did this theater even have one? Would the spirits even let him there? Oh fuck, it didn't matter -- he would plow his way through what he had to. Katherina stated she had nothing to live for-- well in different words. He couldn't imagine her life being much worse than one he lived though. Hell he had even thought of trying to die over in the game he had found. A little test of things he overheard. Camus after all was better than Damien any day. He always thought against it because of Katherina. "Well if she hates me... maybe dying would be a good option." Yes speaking this out loud was the smartest idea in a ghost infested theater.

Space began to warp little by little. A new spirit had taken an interest in Katherina the moment she had shed tears for all those spirits. Though was this ghost a good or bad one? It stayed in the shadows, watching and following the girl. "Do you really want to die?" A little girl's voice echoed around her. "Do you really not care about your older brother? I can help you get what you want. He doesn't want you to be happy. To save everyone. He might even kill you if it means he gets what he wants." Still the speaker of this voice didn't reveal herself. Would the split between the siblings mean game over?

Listening to the voice, the brunette stood there and crossed her arms and shook her head. "He doesn't want me dead and I don't hate him. I just....He hasn't been around for all these years. We live two completely lives. We're siblings yes but turned into complete strangers. I just don't want him telling me what to do and how to do things." She smiled and laughed a little bit. "I've survived this long without him. I can keep going on my own." Katherina was being too stubborn for her own good. She was thinking she was this big shot ghost hunter but she was just an armature.

Reading up on the paranormal books and looking through websites was nothing like experiencing the real thing. The other places she had investigated were abandoned asylums and haunted hotels. She didn't really have her share with abandoned places. Nothing could ever prepare her for this investigation. "I won't be tricked and fooled into anything. All I want to do is help the spirits cross over and get out of here." Of course it was a bit more challenging without her ghost equipment. Even more so that she wasn't in a physical form. One problem at a time though.

Not wanting to admit it but Katherina didn't really know how to go about it. Wanting to exorcize and help spirits cross over was way over her head. She hadn't researched anything about that. Hell there was no book that addressed what to do if you end up in a spirit form and can talk to your brother and see your sleeping body. It was all strange. It was all very fucked up. Being fucked up was pretty much normal for the siblings though. She was not crazy at all. Yes she had a rough time after Damien had left. He had done well to keep her from the bad things but once he left the umbrella went with him. There was nobody around to stop the 'rain' from falling on to her and soaking her down into her bones.

She battled anxiety, depression, an eating disorder, an abusive father while her mom at some point turned into an angel buried in the ground. She didn't have friends that stuck beside her. She was the weird quiet girl with issues. Issues that nobody wanted to deal with or be apart of. She may have been a little crazy but not like her brother. Nope he was a different case entirely. The only thing they had in common was both being fucked up in some shape or form. That was why she played a virtual reality game. To escape the world and her shitty life. She was living through Caelynn's life and wanting everything she had. Freedom. It all came down to being happy and having freedom.

"I'm not sure I know how to do this. Actually I don't know how to do any of this." She was clearly drowning. "I just wanted to experience the paranormal activity and record evidence so that I could show others that ghosts exist. That spirts are always around us. I don't know how to exorcize spirits or help them cross over." She felt mad and frustrated. "And of course I pissed off my brother most likely say I could do this and I wanted to do this when in doubt I have no idea how to go about it."

The siblings both were going to face their share of challenges here in this haunted theater. Though would they do all their challenges alone from now on or would they end up uniting? The space around Katherina continued to distort, though to the naked eye it didn't look much different. Had Katherina been more than an armature ghost hunter, perhaps it would be much easier for her to notice the challenges in space. How time had seemed to stop in the veil pocket that they had been trapped in. How the atmosphere almost seemed to be crushing in on them , little by little. The outside world could move freely , but the space inside the theater-- it was controlled by something else. It wasn't going to let those in this space go. They would be trapped here forever. No one who entered here and tried to poke around would suffer an ill fate. Yet not all the spirits here were bad or corrupted-- it was just a thing of luck on rather a nice spirit was found.

"But does he not hate you now? He left you and thinks that he can tell you how it is after all this time. What type of brother is that? Why not hate him. I'm sure it isn't long before he plots to kill you. You should move first. He is the one who is stopping things from being done. Can't you feel it too? He isn't who you think he really is. The past means nothing anymore. You should forget all about what he did--- he is only gonna hurt you."

The space before Katherina shifted and a small girl appeared. The girl had brown hair and the same red-brown eyes that the siblings shared. She came closer to Katherina.

"You said it yourself, Peter Pan doesn't exist. You've grown up, you don't need such things as fairy tales and pixie dust. It is all utter rubbish isn't it? You've grown up , Kat. It is for the best. Just let Damien go-- He isn't worth it. He is just bossy and doesn't know what he is on about. No need to be held back by him. You have goals-- let's go and do them."

Though would Katherina follow the girl? Just who or what was this spirit girl? A sense of familiarity would be there for Katherina. A cold hand went to softly touch the other's arm as she spoke and smiled. Her touch might be cold, but it held no malice or ill intent. Katherina was drowning and the ghost was going to take full advantage of it.

"Damien doesn't matter if he can't see that you aren't a little girl who needs protecting. You can make up your own mind for yourself. You don't need him, you can do it by yourself. Except you're not alone. You have me now, Katherina."

Damien wasn't doing much either. He was drowning himself and he looked at his sister's body and sighed. Dying could be a good option. No-- he didn't want to die here. He was afraid to die here. Even though he had been around plenty of guns and such as he grew up after being taken by Rudger. Hell, he put his life on the line a lot now that he was a bounty hunter. Yet it really seemed like this was the worse of it all. He never thought of just dying in the game, not really. He thought of it-- but he wouldn't... couldn't. Dying might mean he would never see Katherina again and he couldn't handle the thought. His sister did always mean the world to him. He tried everything to protect her from the world, to shelter her from their parents. Without their father... well their mother might be not so bad. Yet, she was weak minded and easy to control by their abusive father. He didn't even get to ask Katherina about anything. She probably hated him.

"You hate me, don't you? You wouldn't be sad if I allowed myself to become dust in the wind?"

Yes he was using the little demon's words. He had fought for control and now he didn't know what to do. He didn't know if the clock was stopped. He looked at his phone again, it hadn't changed. Which meant the time here was stopped. They couldn't get out by window or door. He headed down the corridor , even as he had his moment of breaking down mentally. He was going to see if this place had a basement or not. Typically things were marked as 'do not go' zones if something was there that was important. It made him curious to see what was there-- if the basement actually was there.

The truth was he couldn't ever hate his sister. It hurt him to see her walk away from him and throw some temper tantrum. Sure, he shouldn't boss her around-- but the irony was he hadn't been doing anything wrong when she charged off. Why was it that he seemed to constantly be misunderstood. He could feel the coldness as he got deeper into the heart of the theater. There was what would act as a basement. When this place had actually been in business, they would use it as a type of trap door exit as well as a secondary place for the cast and crew. Of course, it was closed off to the general public. Yet Damien would also find that it had been boarded up . He had to put Katherina's body down as he got to the road block.

"Seems I might have found the ideal spot here. So what are we trying to keep out of sight?

Katherina stared at the girl with wide eyes as she continued to speak to her. Who was she? Who was she to say such things about her brother? It truly angered her deep in her heart. She seemed to be using the words she had spoken to Damien. Just think back on it, she was quite rude to her brother. By right she should listen to him after all he was the older sibling. She would recall her mother telling her to be a good girl and always listen to her older brother especially if he was babysitting her.

"I don't hate him. I could never hate him. He's my brother and I love him even if....." She closed her eyes to thinking back to those summer nights of the siblings running around the backyard barefoot playing Peter Pan and Wendy. Catching fireflies in a jar and saying it was Tinkerbell. "Even if the magic has run out." People got older and things had changed. Her father had told her that Damien got sick of being around her and so he left the family. Did that really happen? No. But that was what she thought she knew. "The magic ran out..." Her voice sounded far away filled with sadness.

She could see a small version of herself standing in the very same yard crying and reaching out to nothing crying for her brother not to leave her. She didn't want to be left alone with her parents. Her father was scary and her mother didn't care all that much. Things like pixie dust and Neverland seem to be harder and harder to believe in when the world around you turns black and white. That was Katherina's world. Now with Damien in front of her, she couldn't see any color. Everything stayed the same. Felt the same. Looked the same.

The brunette shivered and jumped slightly bringing her back yet again to the current situation she was in. She stumbled backwards away from the girl and took her other hand and put it over the spot the child had touched. "Who are you? What are you? How do we get out of here?" Should she return to her body? She turned around and looked around now realizing that Damien had disappeared and with her body. "Oh right." She sighed to herself and put her hands under her long brown hair and lifted it off her neck for it to breathe before letting it fall back down her back. "I think once this is all over, I need a small vacation. This is all too much to handle."
