Darko then stood at the front of this building one day. This was still closed, but at least he had placed some contingency measures so that it would not get robbed again. That window that was smashed open was repaired, albeit shoddily with wood instead of the glass that was on the other window, and he had placed a massive curse on anyone who would dare enter here without permission. Of course the curse was a subtle one such that no one would assume the intruders died due to Dark Magic. Fortunately no one had entered anyway as he then lifted the curse without much fanfare.

This was the restaurant that he had decided to open up, or reopen, due to the disgust that he had from tasting the dishes of almost every restaurant in Stokbon, the Stinky Ivàn's Curry Shop. He was here because he had expected the delivery of the appliances, furniture, fixtures, utensils, cooking equipment, building materials, and other things needed for the grand renovation that will happen tomorrow. He would test the mettle of that delivery service that he had contracted with this job, and if he did not come, he will leave an angry review while he would pick up those materials by himself, of course with some assistance. How the hell would he carry two 10-cubic meter magitech refrigerators by himself?

((This thread is not the thread that I intended in the LFG, but for the canonical day before that. Anyone can enter and leave whenever they want, and I will close the thread as soon as I will decide to do it, and then I will post the LFG one after this.))

The Guild offered services all around, ranging from the most simplest of requests to epic adventures... but more often than not the mundane errands just got side glanced at by members at best, or at worst ignored. One such order had been getting helping a local crafter in Honeyhome get their custom wooden furniture to Stokbon in order to complete a request. The request was easy, keep any monsters and bandits away from the cargo, but it had sat unattended until Toko had decided to pick it up.

"Ojisaaan, I think that's the building by the corner!"

Excitedly the Lepus pointed in the general direction of a building with a wooden window, the man angling his cart in that direction. As they neared Toko quickly bounded out, ready to help unload the new pieces. It wasn't part of her request, but the rabbitfolk wasn't about to leave the old man to do all this manual labor on his own—she had plenty of muscle and energy to spare after all.

"Ohayoo...! Anyone heeereee?"

As Darko was still waiting for the response from the delivery service, he then heard the sound of the wheels of a cart turning as it became louder, meaning towards his direction. As he heard those sounds, he became perplexed. Although he was indeed waiting for a delivery, this was not what he had expected. There was still no reply from the delivery service, and so Darko then turned towards the direction from where the sound cane from. As he then made use of his ocular magic as the magic pentagrams on his irises then glowed purple, he then saw that cart was being manned by one of his suppliers from the furniture shop, the one he had contracted to make tables and chairs for the restaurant, and he was accompanied by a familiar figure. Although, as he then glanced at the chairs and tables, these ones seemed more elaborate than usual. Really. He had asked for tables and chairs that were apt for a decent tavern, and he just showed up with some of the finest pieces that he had set his eyes on. Which meant only one thing. He had asked this old man that he craft those furniture just enough for a decent tavern, since he thought he was getting on with age and he might not have the strength and acumen necessary to make really good pieces like he used to, and so might just stay in Stokbon to make those pieces instead of traveling to Honeyhome to make use of his larger workshop there. But this man went the extra mile and went to Honeyhome anyway. Was he really that interested in this restaurant making a comeback?

As the cart halted to a stop, Darko then walked towards the old man and gave him a firm handshake. "Nice to see you still going strong there. I honestly did not expect those really good furniture. Are those still going by the original price for each item?" As his ocular inspection then confirmed, the number was right: 15 tables and 60 chairs were indeed delivered. But as he counted the furniture, he then noticed that familiar figure again, unloading the furniture on the ground near the restaurant. As he then remembered, this one was one of those who answered to his call in rebuilding the shop, although that was for tomorrow anyway, and she seemed to be working for the old man this time. As he then finished conversing with the old man, he then opened the main entrance of the restaurant, and then moved towards the area where the furniture was being unloaded.

"All right, you may unload those inside the restaurant. No need to arrange them yet, just stack them at the corner. Although, I am really concerned right now. You're supposed to help with the renovation tomorrow, right?"

"Haaaiii~"

As the door to the restaurant was opened, the tiny human pointing to a particular corner that the furniture could be temporarily unloaded into, Toko called out in confirmation. The tables were big, and bue to that alone she would need to handle them one at a time... unless she wanted to risk scratching one of them or a wall in the establishment, but the rabbitfolk didn't want to cause any trouble for the old man while doing this job.

"Ojiisan don't worry about it, I got them!" She spotted the old man beginning to move towards the back of the cart, his back hunched as usual, and the Lepus was quick to stop him. "You just rest after our long trip over here, okay?"

Already five tables were inside the local when the human approached Toko, the Lepus tilting her head sideways in mild confusion at his question after setting her cargo down. "Eetooo... I do have a job here in Stokbon scheduled tomorrow. Ah, would it be for this place then?" It was also part of the reason as to why the Lepus had picked up this errand from the guild too, the usual two birds with one stone approach.

"Hai, I should be good for tomorrow then! This type of work is just a light workout for me~"

A thumbs up was given to Darko as the Lepus spoke up, before Toko continued working on bringing in the rest of the tables one at a time.

Darko just smiled wryly as he heard the rabbitwoman's (@Toko) response. "I just thought I needed to inform you, since there is really a lot of work to do at the moment." Darko then looked around the interior of the restaurant. Everything was clean at the moment due to his and Moonsong's efforts six days prior, but a lot of things remained to be done. Especially that window that he had shoddily repaired at the moment since the glass replacements were only due today to be delivered. There were still cracks on the pillars and walls that should be repaired with more mortar, the plumbing was still wrecked, and mice were still around some corners especially in the storage room, since Darko had purged the ones in the kitchen days prior, rendering the kitchen ready for the rigors of commercial cooking. Or at least after those appliances were delivered.

"I think this would be a hard task especially since only seven people responded and I do not know if every single one would come. I will also be here, but I am mostly going to cook for you since you will need the energy for hard labor. As I said in the request in the bulletin board, I will recompense you both in gold and in dishes."

Wow… this sure was one worrywart of a client for the Guild, huh?

"Ah, daijoobu daijoobu, you’re worrying too much about it all!"

There was a soft chuckle as the Lepus placed down table number eleven—just 4 more to go and 60 chairs—before she turned to do a light handwave when Darko continued musing and worrying about what tomorrow would hold and bring. She took a moment to stretch her arms far, it was important to ensure muscles stayed relaxed after all to avoid any unwanted sprains or injuries, before Toko hurried back outside to continue the unloading process of furniture for the new establishment.

"Ojiisan, these are all so kirei~"

Anything that was handcrafted would always gather the admiration of the rabbitfolk, in Toko’s opinion there was nothing cooler and mesmerizing than watching someone who was experienced in their craft create works of arts through their hands—more so when said pieces were meant to have daily usage instead of just sitting and looking pretty.

As @Toko was singing her praises towards the old man, Darko then said, as he heaped praises to the person who he had chosen to make furniture for him, "One can always expect a great work from this man. The former owner and I had contracted this man to make furniture for this restaurant four years ago, and whatever he does were always beautiful. I dare say that that man's acumen had never blunted in these four long years. Although I had told him to go easy for this order, he always delivered beyond my expectations." He then offered a gift towards the old man: a decently-sized bag of gold coins, saying, "This is my gift for a job well done. Accept it, for it is yours and only yours to keep. Take good care of yourself and don't overexert, would you?"

He then looked at Toko. "Looks like it is a job well done for you, too. Here's my tip." He then handed over a smaller bag of coins to her. "Just take it, it is yours. So, I will also expect you tomorrow for the next task, right? I hope you will also do a great job as you did here today."

Once the tables were out of the way Toko made quick work of the chairs, they were smaller and thus easier to carry two or even three at a time into the establishment. Before long the last two chairs were placed down, the Lepus dusting her hands before she looked around the saloon... it was a pretty nice place, no denying that, and so she was interested in seeing how this shop would turn out once it was done.

As Toko stepped back outside she caught the end conversation of the young man and the crafter, the older man flustering as he tried to refuse the tip at first... before generously accepting it once Darko insisted. "He's right ojiisan, you deserve it!" Toko had a feeling she already knew what the older man would do with some of the extra gold, he did adore spoiling his young granddaughter after all and Stokbon certainly had many clothing articles and toys that could not be found in Honeyhome.

"Oh...!"

As a sudden small bag of gold coins was trusted into her palms the Lepus blinked in surprise, having an internal conflict of her own regarding the unexpected tip. On the one hand she didn't felt she had done anything special to earn it, and in her own culture tipping was pretty much non-existent, but after encouraging the crafter to take his own... well, she didn't want the man to rethink his choice if Toko declined her own tip.

"A-Arigatoo... I'll see you early tomorrow then, ja ne!"

With that and a final wave Toko decided to stroll down the street, the first point of order being to find an inn she could stay in while the renovations contract was completed...

As Darko then said his goodbyes to the two unexpected guests, he just sighed and then took one of the chairs that they had delivered, and then, as he then carried it outside of the restaurant, he then sat on it. He was still waiting for the delivery service to come along, as he then checked at the time. It was still morning, and maybe the people who were playing this game were sleeping, eating breakfast, doing exercises, or something else in the real world. Honestly he would do those routines as well at this time if he did not do it earlier to anticipate the deliveries. The only people who would log in at this time were morning people like the beastwoman from earlier, or just plain escapists who were bored by the the extreme mundanity of the real world. Or maybe those people who were convinced that this was an experiment on transhumanism. But anyway, he had a lot of time currently. It should be some couple of hours before lunch in the real world, and he had finished his needed tasks for today and tomorrow. For now he would just sit there and wait, also to maybe watch a typical quasi-medieval suburban section of the city rising up in the morning.
