Kyra's eyes had gone distant as Fiora spoke about the dangers of the MIT continuing to explore the cavern. She had mentioned to the spectral figure that they would honour their eternal slumber, and it hadn't been a lie. We will honour it...but I cannot speak for everyone else in this world. Then, Fiora mentioned something that caught Kyra's attention, her eyes shifting to the other woman's face.

You wish to lie to them, and tell them that...what? Nothing is down here? Do you truly believe they'll listen to that? Or that they'll care? I don't.

She took a few more steps, moving into the hole that Fiora had made, providing access to a tunnel that - hopefully - would lead them out of this underground tomb. It was a few more seconds, long enough for Fiora to join her and continue walking, before Kyra spoke again.

I think that we tell them what we found. That beneath this crystal mountain is a tomb. A tomb filled with an entire civilisation that has fallen into eternal slumber. And that guardians that stand over it, ready to entomb any who come near - as we confirmed, with the poor loss of our four other party members.

Her eyes turned to Fiora as she came to a dead stop, her face entirely stoic, blank of any expression as she waited for the other to respond. She had no idea how Fiora would take the commentary and suggestion, but she figured it was worth an attempt.

Thankfully...or unfortunately, rather...I signed the contract under five names. Four others, who will never be found beyond the records of their original existence.

It was the next part that was hardest to say, to admit to aloud. She had been a member of the MIT for a long time. Conducted many experiments in the name of expanding their knowledge, of doing good for the world. Of false dreams and forgotten horrors...

I do not trust the MIT to leave this place alone. So instead, we will ensure they're too afeared to ever step foot into this place. And should any ever do so...

Her scythe twisted behind her, the warning clear without the words to back it up. Her right hand touched the stone tunnel beside them, a soft purple glow appearing where her fingers brushed against it - leaving a trace that would alert her should anyone ever pass through the area. This place shall be well guarded...as any Reaper would do.

"Hey now, I never said that would be the lie." Fiora smiled, ever so confident as usual, yet she gave ample room after interjecting, following right behind Kyra's tail without so much as uttering a word, given the notorious change in mood her partner had.

It's easy to see when she's being serious that's for sure.

When their eyes met once again, deadpan as the beastfolk had turned out to be all this time, the conversation lingered in the air enough for the knightess to catch up on the meaning behind that pause. A grin crossed her lips, canines visible as she leaned down a bit closer towards her.

"Foxes are known for being sly motherfuckers and you ain't the exception. Oh well, it's a shame I was starting to like our little group. Not even an inch of flesh for us to bury." The tragedy within her voice exaggerated a notch or two with crystal clear intent behind it.

Eyes trailed back to the glowing hue of the mark a set of fingers had left, Kyra's in that regard, and what was a very dangerous statement. Yet if their little journey started as a two out of ten, company suddently turned it into a solid eight.

"You have a good idea, I'm not gonna deny that. But I still believe we should act our part and keep the details as obfuscated as possible. Have you not heard the tales of the head of MIT? The man is a psychopath, and I doubt he would stop short of a few casualties to get his hands deep into this cavern." She reiterated, yet a moment to ponder was taken... Hopefully she's wrong here and they won't, but there's no stop for the brainiacs; a few deaths for the sake of progress is within their spectrum.

"Come on. We don't want to end like our friends, don't we? Enough people got buried away today, might aswell let them to their Eternal Slumber. I was thinking about getting our asses out of Zalra, maybe camp. Hope you are a good hunter, Reaper-"

The cold breeze of Zalra welcomes them.

The ever freezing Zalra, especially with winter around the corner, was no stranger to the rising winds, and the change of the seasons. Unlike the gold and red leaves of northern Astorea and Falderen, this crystalized haven had a different sort of beauty. Whether that beauty was found by those who forged on, facing apparitions to rescue their fellows was another question entirely. They showed heroism, and stood tall in the face of moderate danger. Success was in the eye of the achiever, and even out here in Zakaden, failure was commonplace.

Yet the memories of those who have come and gone will remain. Fluttering in the wind, and given tangible form. There are those who will yearn to relive certain moments - to feel powerful again.
