The first thing that Yua noticed as the black veil of unconsciousness slowly peeled back to reveal the stage of the waking world was the stinging cold she felt pressed against one side of her body. Her eyes slowly opened to a blurred white blanket upon which she was lying upon on her side. The second thing she noticed was the dull, throbbing pain coming from the side of her head, and lastly, the rough, scratchy sensation of ropes around her ankles and wrists, pulled behind her back.

As the samurai's vision cleared, the foggy white blanket slowly came into focus, tiny white crystalline beads becoming clearer, even in the dim grey light. Snow. It wasn't until then that Yua fully became aware of the ropes binding arms and legs, the rough fibers suddenly an alarm for danger. A few brief moments of struggle followed as the girl writhed on the snow-covered ground, the rope biting into her skin, but they wouldn't budge.

Giving up the girl tried to look around the area from her position, lying on her side. A tent. And a poorly made one at that, barely kept together with thin branches and worn-out ropes. Aside from that though, the scene was empty, save for one familiar elf lying in a similar predicament as Yua. "Onee-san!" the samurai whispered sharply. "Onee-san, are you awake?"

"Hrmmm..."

The first thing her mind registered was the absolute fucking headache currently assaulting her, if Lúthien didn’t know any better she would’ve sworn Truck-kun had just run her over and isekai’d her ass into another universe. The second thing her mind noticed was the permeating cold against one side of her body, causing her to shiver before the elf shifted to avoid the increasing sting to her flesh.

"Onee-san!" A familiar voice called out to her in a sharp whisper, stirring the last of her consciousness awake as another groan left the ranger’s lips. "Onee-san, are you awake?"

Right, she had met up with Yua today… they had been on their way to Lübeck to… to… she couldn’t remember what had brought them this way. "Y-Yua… what’s going on?" It was then she felt the restraints on her wrists and ankles, unable to move her hand from behind her back in order to lessen the throbbing headache on her temple.

"What the… Yua, are you okay?!" Panic quickly set it, her heartbeats quickening in response before the girl turned around to spot the younger blonde who—although in a similar state as her own—at least appeared unharmed. "Where are we… and how long were we out of it?"

The elf moaned quietly, at least letting Yua know that she was alive. That much was good. What wasn't goo was that she seemed to be just as bound up as Yua. "Y-Yua… what's going on?" she whispered before trying to move and finding herself restrained. "I don't know," the girl whispered back before trying to escape her bindings again, to no avail.

"What the… Yua, are you okay?! Where are we… and how long were we out of it?"
"I don't know,"
Yua repeated before trying to look around at their surroundings again. They were in a tent, that much was clear. Between the snowy ground and the tattered cloth that surrounded them, it couldn't be anything else. "We've gotta get outta these ropes," Yua said, as she looked around for something that they could use to cut themselves free. There were sacks and tools thrown haphazardly in the corners of the tent, their contents spilling out and onto the ground. "Over there!" A pair of sheep shears poked out of the mouth of a fallen over bag. "Can you reach those?"

"Fucking Lübeck."

One would think that her experience with the everwhite a few months back would’ve been enough of a deterrent for the ranger to never return to this place, and yet here she was again—worse still, now Yua had also been roped into whatever brand new mess this cursed place was throwing out too. "When I get my hands on whoever did this bullshit to us…" A small spark of static danced along the elf in response to her words, before quickly dissipating as Lúthien focused instead on keeping as much of the cold at bay from her body as she could muster once a shiver ran up her spine.

"Over there! Can you reach those?"

Her eyes followed Yua’s gaze, finally spotting the sacks and tools haphazardly tossed in one corner of the tent. "I t-think so?" Words were whispered back to the younger girl, before Lúthien closed her eyes to focus on the sounds nearby. It didn’t seem like anyone was too close to them or, at the very least, no one seemed to be heading in their direction right now... so maybe if they acted quickly they’d be able to escape before their captors came back to check on them, or worse.

A few grunts escaped the blonde as she writhed against her bindings, the rough texture of the tightly bound ropes biting into her skin with each movement. She gritted her teeth in response, bearing with it considering there was no other alternative, until finally her back pressed against the falled over burlap sack. Quickly her fingers began grasping behind her, trying to find the shears, and after a few attempts—and biting down on her lips to stifle a yelp when one of her fingers nicked itself against the sharp edges of the tool—Lúthien managed to get a hold of the sheers.

"C’mon, c’mon, c’mon…!"

Unable to see behind her the blonde had to rely solely on her touch to guide the shears towards the ropes currently binding her wrists, doing her best to try and cut through them as she fought the numbing feeling beginning to spread on her fingers due to the cold and snow.

Yua tried to listen to anything that might be going on outside. It was hard to hear anything though, over the sounds of the howling winds outside. Closing her eyes and focusing though, the girl honed in on the noises, separating them one by one. Faintly, the girl could hear a fire crackling in another tent nearby, alongside the chittering of some creatures in a language that Yua had never heard before. They didn't sound alarmed, or in any kind of hurry though. Which meant they hadn't been found out yet.

Luthien would soon feel the cold metal of the shears against her fingers. A little bit more clawing and she'd have them firmly in hand. With a little bit of maneuvering Luthien could start cutting herself out of her bindings, but it might be easier cut Yua free first, before having her help the elf. Whatever the case, Yua continued to listen to what was going on outside, on the lookout for any kind of disturbance.

A pained hiss escaped her lips once again when the sharpened edge lightly grazed her skin as the ranger worked on her bindings, but she ignored it as the elf focused entirely on the sole goal of escaping her bindings. The smaller girl had closed her eyes, the light creases and frowns in her face showing that Yua was concentrating on the noises outside of the tent, before Lúthien finally felt the tension of the rope slacken as the shears cut through the last fiber holding it together.

With her hands finally free, and now able to properly see what she was doing, the blonde was able to quickly release the bindings around her ankles before turning towards Yua. "Hold on, I’ll set you free." Her own ears remained trained on the noises outside, the chittered words and grunts not in any language that Lúthien recognized. Releasing Yua proved to be an equally simple task, the shears finally cutting through the last rope and releasing the girl’s feet, before the blonde took a moment to fuzz over the younger girl.

For the most part the human seemed to be in good shape, if one ignored the state of their wrists and ankles after being bound for Gwyndolainn knew how long and the coldness that continued to creep into their skins. "I wonder if they’re dumb enough to leave our shit lying around this tent…" Red eyes began sweeping over the small space once more, her vision no longer focusing on just finding a means to free them as she took in the smaller details… ignoring the dull ache she still felt on the side of her head for the time being.
