_____Omega was still nowhere near as strong as she needed to be to stand beside her goddess, least as far as she was concerned. Sure her goddess told her not to only focus on defense, but the Magia was stubborn on this front for the time being as she refused to worry about dealing damage back until she knew there would be no way for an enemy to harm her goddess so long as she was still standing. Once she was sure she could protect her goddess from any harm at all, then she would worry about getting the power to cut down anything that dared to harm her goddess.
_____It was for that reason the Magia was seeking out creatures that could pose a threat, albeit minor to her defenses to double train herself. Work on her defense to get it high enough that even the minor damage she did take from the threats was null, and increase the damage of her own very weak attacks to whittle down her targets. In theory it would work out well so long as she did not bite off more then she could handle herself and was why she made sure her research into her target was concrete possible or as close to ninety percent certain she could deal with the creature herself.
_____This led her to the region known as 'Hyland ascent' a mountainous region that was currently home to a creature know as 'bone back werecat. A rather on the nose name in her opinion as it was named such for it's cat like features and massive bone shell along it's back. She knew a few things about the creature that posed useful going into the fight thanks to the books but would only trust them after seeing it true for herself. They claimed in the book to be an intelligent race, led by a single alpha male who would keep several females and the young to a set age before shooing them away.
_____She also learned from other star-called reports that these creatures lacked a range option, preferred solo hunts, and had been more known for their durability then damage despite the look they been depicted for. As Omega traveled up the steep rocky cliffside towards a reported den of the creatures as she overlooked her gear and weapon a final time. She did not like being away from her Goddess side, but knew she could not always expect her to want to follow her still in training vanguard, or want her goddess to see her fail and have to retreat if things went south. That thought though was cut short as one of the possible younger bone backs jumped from the higher cliff growling to give itself away.

"Irritation, The point of a sudden attack is to surprise target, growling loudly on approach ruins element of surprise. unintelligent bag of flesh, fur, and bone!"
_____The monotone voice was soon followed by the sound of slaw against metal as Omega's wing shield snapped into place to protect her from the descending attacker while her other wing slammed into it's side to get it off before the weight fully settled atop her. Looking at the wing to check for damage to get a rough baseline of threat she was facing before looking back at the growling feline and gave it a Hiss of her own as she lowered her stance and stretched the wings out. her rifle kept slung on her waist for now as she was more here for defense not offence.

Notes: Can either choose to assist Omega in fighting her current target, have entered a different route to fight your own, or just sit back and watch the magia play a game of endurance with a monster. the rough idea unless some manages to pull Omega from her current mission is to fight three versions of this creature. Young, a regular, and the alpha that will be a boss class monster. if left solo she will likely have to retreat but then could turn to a social thread or transition into one. If you would like to start one of the other stages I have the TLDR of them below.
Bone back werecat 1600hp, 35 retaliation damage
Alpha bone back werecat 3200hp, 40 retaliation damage
