Mira Eden has done this many times before. Spoken the same words, answered the same questions, seen the same sea of faces watching her with the same expressions. Pity, curiosity, morbid fascination... after having spoken so many times in so many places she has come to realize how similar people are, no matter where she goes.

Children of Eden, her publicist has called it. The Life and Trials of the Edenite Cult.

Cult is such a powerful and terrible word. What she remembers as a quiet and peaceful childhood, others see as a horrifying experience - a world without technology, without electricity, all at the whim of a man who thought himself the voice of God himself? How backwards, how cruel. Of course they were raided, and of course it was because of weapons. After all, how could such a community not bear ill will against the world?

And of course, how could such a man not turn his gaze inwards, and commit atrocities against the ones he's made his flock?

(She does not recall such things, if they did happen, but she has had therapists tell her such repression of memory happens.)

Mostly, she speaks at universities, where students come to gawk and take notes. More rarely she gets requests to speak on some news channel, or even virtual events - she never knows what'll come next. There are people for that, people who guide her and decide for her and make sure that she isn't taken advantage of. In a way, her life hasn't changed much from what it was before. Only now instead of a smile from the Father, she receives polite applause and the money she needs to live in the world.

And all it takes is to betray the people who raised her, again and again.

You might have seen Mira's presentation as part of a school assignment, on some public television show, or just saw an article somewhere. Maybe it meant something to you, or maybe not. You might have even asked a question in that period when she's done and the floor is made open to them. Whatever the case, if your character saw it and had a reaction to it, here's the place to post it.

Wrapped by blankets and darkness, Yuhan had her face buried in pillows and mattresses. She didn't want to leave, nor for the real or for the virtual world.

It has been a few days now, how a game could just make her stay like that? This was... That was all so...

Bzz-

A gasp escaped from her lips,

Bzzzzz-

What would usually be an inconvenient sound of a goddamn bloodsucker, was now a hellish nightmare for the young woman, who quickly gripped a nearby remote control and tried to hit the cursed creature. No more, no more!

Screaming, she threw the remote control in despair, finally crushing the thing and making the power button be hit by an impact, making the television beam awake.

Yuhan shielded her eyes with her hands and blanket, narrowing in a squint and peering up at the television.

Children of Eden?

She muttered the title, with a presentation being shown. There was a beauty in it, albeit having such a complicated topic, the execution was nothing short of great. Yuhan's eyes settled on it, with her racing heart easing when the distraction lingered, enough to make her pay attention, especially on the one that held the center of the attention.

Soon, it was clear it was just a small demo of the full thing, followed by an interview of the woman.

Mina Eden.

What a coincidence. It was almost unsettling.

Yuhan's eyes then met the Mina's, or at least the reflection of the lens that recorded her at the time... And she couldn't help but feel vaguely familiar with it. Not that she knew the woman, but she knew those eyes, those expressions.

It was so similar to her's, to the one Yuhan held years ago.

One of many people praising your work-

And yet, it felt so superficial.

So weak.

Yuhan struggled, reaching for her remote control again and sighing, holding it tightly to her chest while watching the interview ending, with the woman leaving the screen and being replaced by the same old news as always. Bad news of every day...

And then a glimpse of the illegal game that killed many.

Yuhan's stomach cramped again, and she quickly turned the television off before she had another panic attack.
