Personality

Askera Question, and she will answer. This scientist is a singleminded man who seeks the answers to anything and everything within the world of Terrasphere. He is a happily married man-a man married to research, that is.

He's a man devoted to the cause, and about nothing else. Please forgive him if he forgets your not-relevant-or-canonized name a time or two, he insists that it's because he's unfamiliar with global languages. Askera may not think much of people outside of his testing chambers, but he is very attentive to those who are currently assisting him in the present. He's very focused on the job, and so the people on his mind are those who are working on the job with him.

Askera separates business and pleasure very cleanly, making sure to do his best not to goof off while researching. It's hard for him, though, because he's playing a game-and games are fun to play. He's caught between two personalities in this dilemma, sometimes showing a very child-like side when allured by the wonders of mystery.

Positive: Curious, Diligent, Passionate, Resourceful
Negative: Careless, Forgetful, Frequently impersonal

Background

Kaito is a simple man living under the work of a kinder-than-most office job in Japan. The work is boring, sure, but at least he wasn't stuck under the heel of a black company. He worked as a managing superior of a department of five, which he felt that he was very fair towards. He didn't yell at anyone, wasn't rude and got his work done early so that he wouldn't have to pressure his workers into staying at the office late just because he was there.

He had a few hobbies. Finding nice places to eat was one of them, while record-keeping was another. The two tended to intercede when Kaito kept track of the places that had food that he liked in particular, but he didn't keep records just to keep track of food.

Kaito enjoyed games, and he enjoyed making informational websites about those games. He liked recording data and fleshing out informational graphs about what could be done in those games. He liked listing droprates and secret encounter areas. It was fun to him, and it made him feel smart about something. Kaito felt that he had allowance to feel like an otaku about this if nothing else-if a girl asked about his hobbies, he still had a suite of restaurants and photography places to show her instead.

TERRASPHERE was a curiosity that always called to him. Every day, for the past four years after its' shutdown, he always just had to wonder why information on the game was still regulated by world governments even to this day. Wasn't it shut down? Why not talk about it?

Kaito received his answer when he got a link to play the game. It was still going, and yet nobody knew anything about the game?! It was a sign--he, who had created and managed four game related Wikipedias, just had to dive into this illegal game. If the world outside of the game would not allow information to spread, he would create a hub of data that the players could see-one inside of the game!

His goal--Create the great library of KAITOPEDIA, a place with information about the setting and mechanics for everyone to access.

Afflictions

Death: 1

Oversurged
It was an instant of power, divine and overwhelming. It was an apex of might that you will never achieve again. That instant is scored into your body by phantom sensations within your body, and now, all other sorcerous efforts feel bland, banal. You can never reclaim that spark of ascendant might you once had, and regardless of your growing mastery, your magics' efficacy, it still feels lacking. Tediuous. Wonderless.

Askera Question is not a man with a weapon, nor does he focus on the combat of Terrasphere. An inventor at heart, this buff-focused support has a suite of gadgets stored inside of his inventories that he is ready to pull out at a moment's notice should the need arise.

Equipment Tags

'Fallen Leaf' Willow Wand (Magical Focus - Wand)
Chain Shirt (Medium Armor)
Slick Scale Amulet (Accessory - Necklace)

Trait Description
Dark Blessing - Askera calls upon his contract with the demon who owns the Vault of Avarice. To enhance the power of his magic, he may do so at a material cost, feeding gold or an object of value to his briefcase in a manner which will never see its' return.

Homebound - Crafting/Invention: Askera holds a growing mastery of Terrasphere's extensive and flexible crafting system. In fact, it's half of what he does in the game at all. If there is a problem, he likely has a way to build a solution. (Source of the Unified Mastery)

Descriptions & Shortcuts

Entry 1-3: Healing Spray

Through use of pressure management and a handcrafted healing potion, Askera has made a sprinkler of sorts to dispense healing over a wide area. Studies into the curse of Absurdity to alter pressure on demand has even further refined this device into a reliable and effective tool.
Code:

Entry 3-4: Erosion Curse Landmines

Through condensing of the erosion curse's duration into a single point, Askera has discovered a terrible destructive weapon. Infusing the curses into discs, he weaponizes time itself in a burst to instantaneously dissolve what is struck inside of the blast. Several safety measures are placed on the mines themselves, not limited to but including the need to charge them with mana.
Code:

Entry 6-3: Dissapearror

A handheld mirror inlaid with curses, it causes the people within range of its' reflection to fade from sight and mind. A useful tool, though not without its' problems. Askera need keep it in a black cloth holder which he frequently forgets the existence of within his inventory.
Code:

Entry 7-5: Pain Dampening Field

The semi-successful endeavor of Askera Question to create a disc that would reduce incoming pains within the field. Created for the protection of UI-Locked players, all he need do is charge and throw, similarly to the curse mines. It is also similar to the healing spray in how it disperses the effect.
Code:

Entry 9-4: Vault of Avarice

A briefcase that holds a portal to a demonic realm within its' confines. Askera made a deal with the entity within the realm, who allowed the researcher to store anything within. According to the demon, things merely existing in his realm made him stronger, so it was a win-win scenario. A second inventory space that ignores weight restrictions. He uses it reluctantly.
Code:

Entry 10-11: Portable Accelerator

A throw-and-latch device made of an acceleration device and a stabilizing lead disc. The device does not have a point B as the initial test had, only a launching bracelet that will propel whatever it is attached to. The lead disc stabilizes the magic in the device, ensuring that these boosts of speed won't be lethal. Carries enough charge to use one time.
Code:

Heal

A standard healing magic gained with support masteries. It isn't very effective, but it's always with him. Askera's go-to skill to use Recover.
Code:

Animate Dead

A standard animation magic gained from the Animancy mastery. It requires a corpse, as well as mana in proportion to the monster raised.
Code:

Animate Construct

A long-term skill that allows Askera to power a construct with the same dark magic that would otherwise animate a living corpse. Through use of the Instinct Rig nerve system, these constructs are capable of being almost as flexible as a living corpse can be.
Code:

Demonic Animation

A skill that Askera Question given to him via his accidental method of gaining the Animancy mastery. Classified as a blend of Animancy and Dark Magic, this ritual allows the creation of an animate body infused with demonic power. Askera requires a sample of the demonic source as a focus to animate a creature with said power.

The system warns Askera that too much use and maintenance of <<Demonic>> skills may result in gradual corruption.
Code:

Infuse Curse

A basic ritual of Dark Magic in the curse tree. Curses are usually detrimental effects that inconvenience at a scale based on the mana. By infusing them to a trigger via a ritual, the power of curses increase exponentially and can even become directly lethal. Depending on one's knowledge of curses and the targets one gives, curses can even be used for creative utilities.
Code:

Sacrifice

By adding sacrifices of any kind to a ritual, this skill can boost the potency or change the result of the ritual in question for the better-or for the worse. Askera keeps extensive knowledge as to what sacrifices will do to alter a ritual.
Code:

Contact Dark Entity

A ritual skill that allows Askera Question to make contact with an unclear entity. The entity contacted varies based on many variables related to the ritual itself. A many number of things can be asked of the entity, though Askera primarily uses this skill to ask questions and learn answers.
Code:

Contact Demonic Entity

A dangerous variant of the Contact Dark Entity skill, that reaches into the demonic realms. Askera discovered this skill via frequent use of the Reality Thinning curse. The only entities that may be contacted through this skill are demonic in nature and are potentially dangerous on contact.
Code:

Speak With Dead

An extensive ritual that was developed to speak with the spirits or wills of the departed. Askera does not use it very often, but will never forget that he can.
Code:

Erosion

One of the simplest of curses, an antithesis to things that are. Erosion causes quicker age and degradation. Askera has been able to amplify and condense the curse into a single timeframe, creating an entropic weapon out of it. It can also be used to lower cycle time and durations, though care must be taken to use it in a beneficial way.
Code:

Weakening

One of the simplest of curses, an antithesis to might. Weakening lowers values and reduces strength. It is applied in a number of debuffs and is also used by Askera to weaken values in complex inventions.
Code:

Absurdity

An advanced, combined form of the Erosion and Weakening curses. Absurdity weakens logic and natural order, amplifying the supernatural in the radius of power. Askera has managed to use this curse to create breaches in reality, effectively making wormholes between two points when stable. Absurdity is an incredibly unpredictable curse in terms of what an application will do, and Askera refuses to use this curse for unknown purposes unless testing them in a controlled environment.
Code:

Immolation

A curse that causes the target to spontaneously combust at intervals. Askera has concluded that the fire is likely demonic in nature, if not actual hellfire. He has used this before to light a furnace, and has created rather unique materials as a result of using this forge.
Code:

Emnity

A curse that increases attraction towards the region of the curse. By basic measures, this usually increases hostility towards the cursed. Powerful effects may even redirect attacks towards the cursed if they are near the unaltered path. Askera finds this to be a very helpful, albeit time-intensive, method of making a substance more conductive when working with electricity.
Code:

Repellant

A curse that reduces attraction towards the region of the curse. By basic measures, this usually causes disgust and revulsion towards the cursed. Powerful effects may even cause people to subconsciously avoid the cursed, even when they aren't within sight or notice. Askera finds this to be a helpful, albeit time-intensive, method of insulation when working with electricity.
Code:

Unluck

A more advanced curse with a clear purpose. Everyone knows what it's like to be unlucky. Askera is currently looking into whether he can use this curse to manipulate probabilities by setting certain factors as 'lucky' or 'unlucky' on the time of casting.
Code:

Madness

A dangerous fusion of several of the above curses. Madness is damage to the mind itself, and is a weapon that is not to be taken lightly. Askera knows of how to use this curse, yet will not willingly do so without a very good reason. Askera has concluded that this curse is demonic in nature.
Code:

Synthesized Metals
Entry 2-2 - Quicksteel: An active metal created through the synthesis of Antimony, copper, silver and tin. Resembles quicksilver in nature, but does not contain the toxicity that mercury normally has on contact. You still probably shouldn't swallow it.

Entry 2-3 - Living Silver: A metal made by incorporating trace amounts of magically charged mithril into the formula. Containing most properties of Quicksteel, it also displays anomalous movement in response to stimuli, most of which involve the presence or absence of light.

Entry 2-5 - Dualsteel: Made by incorporating trace amounts of magically devoid mithril into a stable, lead-like fusion of Quicksteel. Holds similar strength and pressure limitations as Tungsten, and has a notable affinity towards channeling Weapon Arts-particularly those that alter the shape or density of the weapon. The more magic given to the steel, the more flexible it becomes.
I gave one instance of a quarterstaff to a Starcalled character known as "God Breaker Master X" for a hefty sum of gold, who promptly named the weapon "IMAGINE BREAKER".

Entry 3-2 - Arterial Carbon: An alloy made within a curse-fueled furnace powered by a sacrifice of Askera's blood. The metal notably pulsates as if it had a heartbeat. It is noticeably impressive at dispersing force, and would defend well against wide-scale and blunt attacks.

Entry 5-Bonus - Blood Copper: An alloy made primarily of copper in the curse-fueled furnace. Displays impressive reception to Blood Magic, and acts as an almost self-guided weapon when given drops of the user's blood. If pressed against an open wound, the damage will quickly coagulate and clot shut.

Reality Breach
Askera has found that, with proper application of the Curse of Absurdity, holes in reality from one place to another can be created both as a portal and a gateway to another plane of existence. The former is something he focuses on, as using it can create miniature gaps between several separate complex systems-a truly wireless connection for structures.

Instinct Rig
Using a combination of Quicksteel, Living Silver and Arterial Carbon, Askera Question has created a 'nervous system' made of steel that he can build into his constructs to emulate instincts. This alone has increased the reflexes of his machines to near-human level, something he takes particular pride in. Currently, Askera wonders if this system can be implemented into armors to enhance the skills of his fellow players.

<< Master of Creation >>

An idea is a powerful thing. The man was once a simple man who innovated to fill gaps in his research. A better question nowadays would be-what couldn't Askera make with a proper idea?
Rank 1 ; World Dissection Formulization
Before creation, there must be destruction. Before recovery, there must be autopsy.

After performing a Buff or Attack action, your next Expertise Knowledge or Awareness check gains a +25 bonus.

(Flavor skills below here)

Demonic Elixir of Mana Surge

A condensed HI-potion of mana, the flask is inlaid with curses of power. Drinking this will increase Askera's held mana to almost triple his maximum holdable amount, allowing for bursts of great power at expense of the stability of his body. A way to use actions that make him Vulnerable, or to cast skills of higher forms.
Code:

Greater Animate Dead

A more powerful version of the Animate Dead skill, it is capable of turning even normal corpses into powerful monstrosities. Due to the extreme mana cost, Askera can only access this skill by overloading his mana bar for the time being.
