Personality
If haters were asked how to describe Gigi, they'd describe her as "an annoying and infuriating troll that is in desperate need of a mute button". Which, fair. Gigi openly agrees that she can be an irritating piece of shit. Honestly, she'd probably describe herself in such a manner. Her devil-may-care attitude isn't everyone's cup of tea. At the same time, that larger-than-life personality has garnered her a dedicated fanbase who admire her for the same reasons she's viewed with contempt. Simply put, Gigi is either an incredibly lovable idiot who brings sunshine to others' days or she's a foul-mouthed fool who needs to learn how to shut up.
She first gained attention for her risky, aggressive, and sometimes melodramatic approach to video games. This style of gameplay has remained consistent, even translating over to Terrasphere and the way she built her character. Despite the flashing red warning signs surrounding the illegal game, she recklessly charges forward with a carefree smile.
For some, it's impossible to fathom that she was once capable of leading a team to victory through the timely usage of tactical advantages and mechanical knowledge. It's a struggle to accept such a serious version of her because what you see is what you get with Gigi. She isn't playing a character in some elaborate game created to alter others' perceptions of herself.
Something is definitely off, though: a dark storm is brewing behind her dancing eyes and toothy grins.
Positive: adaptable, easy-going, jovial
Negative: airheaded, mercurial, reckless
Background
A business proposal upheaved the Bae family and ushered them away from their home in South Korea. She'd been suddenly uprooted and then replanted in the soil of the United States of America. Naturally, they moved in the midst of the school semester which marked a perfect start for the already awkward and shy pre-teen. While her parents flourished, "Gigi" kept her nose buried in her studies. She missed every chance presented to her, only gaining the courage to further approach after they'd moved on.
She attained top-tier grades throughout school but remained an outcast until the age of ten. At last, her parents noticed the lack of activities outside of the library their only child participated in. They presented her with a flyer for various clubs at the beginning of the school year.
Gigi found her place within a group of self-proclaimed nerds. They focused on anything involving games, especially classic tabletop and video games. Though she enjoyed both, the latter enthralled her. The escape it provided became addictive. It wasn't long until she favored late nights at nearby PC cafes to studying.
Then she learned she could pursue a career doing something she adored. She started to hyper-fixate on a new MOBA that showed promise in the eSports scene. She clawed her way to the top of the ranks. The further she climbed, the further her report cards steadily declined until they hit rock bottom. A parent-teacher conference warned her parents that she'd fail the grade if things didn't change.
Despite evidence that there was a future in gaming, her parents disapproved of her choices. But she was sixteen and already being scouted by professional teams. They allowed her to go with the threat that the real world would eat her alive. They were wrong, though, and Gigi soared to the top.
Going by her in-game name "GGbaebe", she secured a starting position for a well-known eSports franchise. The team acquired an impressive list of accomplishments domestically and became international champions in 2027. Fans were flabbergasted when she announced her retirement the following year. It was common knowledge that she'd suffered from suffered several wrist injuries throughout her career but the franchise had ensured she was recovering.
Shortly after, the original starting roster officially disbanded. Hardcore fans turned on Gigi, exactly as intended. The ruckus covered up the tragedy that truly disassembled the team. Terrasphere. Such a thing would have been terrible publicity for the franchise. After all, the virtual reality game had long been speculated to be involved in shady activities.
Gigi enrolled in college to study programming and game development alongside her streaming career. She stalked sketchy forums daily for any clues regarding the incident. Recently, a discussion in chat regarding the return of Terrasphere caught her attention. Within a day, she received the elusive QR code from previously garnered connections.
This was what she needed to find them.

The flash of lightning, the flash of steel. Possessed by the spirit of storm, you've plunged yourself into danger over and over, and now, that very insanity has plunged itself into you, granting a vigor so vibrant that all else fades away in comparison. In moments dire and deadly, adrenaline becomes lightning, oversurging your synapses and nerves as your senses multiply tenfold! Every caress a spike of pleasure and pain, every sound felt as ripples of air against your flesh! Colors, oversaturated; the world, its terror and beauty sharpened to heart-breaking levels! It crashes against your sanity, transcends your mortality, a bolt of divinity shooting skywards with passion and excitement!
And when it crashes, you do too. The question remains then, as to whether or not you'll seek that next hit.
