He walked among the trees, sticking to the path that Brisko had chosen. The Dire Wolf stalked quietly, its gleaming eyes casting left and right as it listened for sounds nearby. The rest of it's pack had darted off to hunt for the evening as they rarely traveled with the two of them directly, only staying when it was time to rest. Zera stepped over a fallen log and eased himself past a small puddle that had formed from the rain that had flooded the region the previous day. His fingers gripped tightly around his axe, normally he wouldn't carry a weapon so readily but it had already become apparent that this place was more dangerous than others.
Brisko froze, tilting its head to the right and narrowing its eyes. He stopped next to the great wolf and ran his hand over its back, following its gaze. He focused, frowning a little as he tried to make out what it was sensing through the mists. That strange feeling washed over him again as something trickled into his eyes, he couldn't identify it but he was at least marginally aware it had something to do with these "mastery" things that people talked about. His white-blue eyes began to glow and he spotted flitting shapes in the mist, glowing forms that seemed different from the ones he usually saw. Normally they were a light green, but these were a pale blue.
As soon as the sensation and other-sight came, it faded, and he glanced down at the wolf. They exchanged a quiet look before deciding not to go in that direction, it was best to live and let live after all. Instead, they continued down the path that they'd been instructed to follow. The strange man at the village before had insisted that Zera would find many answers out here in the mists and that there was an odd boy-sage out here who could provide even more guidance. Zera was confused, of course, but the man claimed that the boy was "uniquely talented to help" Zera. Whatever that meant.
Regardless of his trepidation, Zera pressed through the mists until a shape began to form in the distance, framed by the many trees. It looked like a cabin of some kind. It was small, and Zera wondered if he'd even fit through the front door. He raised an eyebrow and drew closer as Brisko slowed, letting out a low growl. Zera turned to his companion and patted him on the head once before giving him a boisterous thumbs-up. He'd take it from here. The wolf's ears lowered and it set itself on the ground, watching Zera's back as he neared the wooden structure.

"Hello? My name is Zera Leigh! I was told I could find answers here!"
