Walking along the riverbanks was a nice experience. Every so often she would see some fishies jump out of the water all sparkly. Unfortunately despite all the pretty sparkles, Theria was in a conumdrum She remembers that she should go downstream in order to find a town, but what was she suppose to do when the river splits? Should she go left or right. Luckily Theria had a spell for the occassion.

Scrunching her face in concentration, Theria began casting the first spell she created. Reaching into the distant future Theria brought the mind of who she will be back to the present. With a flash of light, Theria can feel herself slowly losing control of her own body. Thankful that she no longer needs to make decisions. Theria decided that getting to town was now future me's problem.

Theria realized that something was very very off. One she could feel that she was outside instead of a nice cozy bed. Second she was standing and she knows for a fact that she doesn't sleepwalk. Finally her feet were aching. Taking a look she realizes that is somewhere in a forest in Falderen. The good news is that she knows shes in Eastern Brisshal. The bad news is that the Eastern Brisshal is a very big place

Deciding that heading to town is the best course of action, she walked upstream hoping to find a vantage point to orient herself. At least she wasn't in the Scarwoods, those wolves can get prett nasty.

Thus putting one step in front of the other, Theria marched onwards to civilization... Hopefully.

Akiva still could not get over how real everything felt. This was supposed to be a mere game, and yet, things felt as real as they did in reality. The air smelled like grass and loam. The heat of the sun dappled his skin through the branches of the forest.

Amazing.

He reached up to rub a leaf on a tree, marveling at how he could feel the little veins that sprawled out on the small green thing. He ripped a little piece of it off. Look how jagged the edge was! He knocked a branch and watched it sway in response, the leaves of the tree rustling their annoyance.

Amazing.

Mouth agape, he meandered through the forest, losing track of time as he inspected every pebble, twig, and bush. He dipped a foot in a pile of mud, grimacing as it squicked between his toes, then ran his fingers through a stream of water, and with a bark of laughter, jumped straight in.

Or attempted to. Too bad it was only thigh high and he skinned both his knees and hands as he skidded on a slick algae-covered rock and fell.

Face twisted in sheepish pain, he clambered out. His long hair dripped onto his pants and they actually felt damp (again, just absolutely, wonderfully amazing).

After shaking like a drenched dog, he began wandering again, no destination in sight.

Suddenly, something darted in the corner of his vision. Akiva tensed, only to realize seconds later that it was just another person — a kid, it looked like, given the petite frame.

He chuckled quietly to himself — to be scared of a child in the beginner's forest! With a grin, he raised both hands into the air to wave frantically at her before heading straight her way at a light job. "Hey kid! Whatcha up to?"

Bradwynne was yawning when he started to patrol this area for the umpteenth time. Because this area was where most of the Travelers will start their journeys, it was important that these people should be informed of what was currently happening here. So that no one would turn out to be himself, a UI-locked Traveler who can only act as a citizen of this world, without their own volition. Although some had heeded his advice and some more said that they knew already and said they know what they were doing - and he hoped that that was the case - some had sneered at him thinking that he was a fraud and he was actually a Lander, and others attacked him without provocation, thinking that killing him will net them mastery points, gold, and item drops. Still some more people who are actually crazy then tried to die in this world for three successive times to prove to him that this was not true, only to end up regretting what they just did and started holing up to wherever they might be currently. But there are others who actually came here for the sole purpose of escaping to this world so that they could start anew, and he could only aspire to these ideals, for, as he knew it, his actual lifespan was shortened by 5 years due to his own settings.

He then decided to stop thinking about those things and focus on the job that he took himself. As he was walking towards a nearby river, he heard a large splash. Knowing that that kind of splash could only be done by a large body instead of fish, he then moved towards the river, and he then saw two people at the river: one male who, by his position, seemed to be the source of the splash, and a female who looked like a faerin judging from her stature. He then said to the male, "Looks like you really attempted to dive in there, huh? Too bad it was actually a kiddie-sized swimming pool."

Upon hearing the human's question, Theria glanced around. Afterall, if there was a child this deep in the forest it would be the best thing to bring the child back to town. Taking a look around, she realized that there was no child in the vicinity. Is there a ghost child going about? Theria suddenly felt the chill along her spine. Ghost usually meant that there was something dangerous around.

It was only after a few moments Theria realized that the human was looking straight at her.

Oh. She realized the human thought she was the child.

"I'm no child. Theria is a proud working woman." she exclaimed. "Anyway, do you think you can help me..."

Trailing off, Theria knew that if she asked for help going back to town then the human will never believe that she is not a child. With a sigh, she started to lean against a tree, before jolting and standing upright. Spinning around she could almost see a handle against the tree she was about to lean on.

Theria decided that wandering in a group would be safer than just going about it on her own. Just when Theria was about to ask to partner up, another human made himself known. Thankful that there was more people, Theria started walking over conjuring a small platform to let her cross the river

While crossing, Theria noticed a sudden empty feeling. With a small flash of light, Theria's mana went poof and with it her barrier and the spell anchoring her to this body.

With her mana running out, Theria realized that she would not make the crossing. Unfortunately future Theria had decided to go on a jog which meant that current Theria would be falling face first into the water.

With a (relatively) large splash, Theria decided that taking a dip in the river was one of the worst things that happened to her today. Unfortunately for Theria, she was out of mana, meaning that all she was was the clothes on her back and the stick in her hands. Fortunately for Theria, future Theria meet some new people.

Paddling her way across, Theria slowly came out of the water. "It's not kiddie sized, you're just too big. Anyway, what are your names? I'm Theria!"

He swept his wet hair out of his eyes with a hand and shook once more, like a dog. An easy smile settled on his lips as he tilted his head to the side, quiet for a moment as he scrutinized her.

"A proud working woman?" he repeated dubiously before something hits him. Oh! He smacked his forehead with the palm of his hand. "Oh! Oh! You're one of those other races. Hello!"

Not the least bit embarrassed, he laughed loudly, throwing his head back.

At the sound of another voice, he jumped in surprise. Turning towards the newcomer, he waved. "Hey, dude! I definitely should have checked how deep the water was before jumping. But no harm, no foul, right?"

He watched the other girl attempt to cross the river. He clapped, oohing in amazement as she summoned a magical bridge that spanned the width of the river, then winced as it disappeared in the middle of her crossing.

"Are you okay?" he asked as she found her way to the other bank. Akiva crouched, his smile widening as he looked the little being in the eye. Like this, they were finally the same height. Akiva chuckled. "You're, like, half my size!"

He held out a hand to her. "I'm Akiva. It is my pleasure to meet you."

As the man in the river, whose name was Akiva, then mentioned about no harm no foul, Bradwynne just laughed and said, "Well yes, no harm no foul indeed! Fortunately the river is really calm right now so a good dip is possible today. Just know your limits and you'll definitely be fine!" He then moved nearer, and then, cupping some water from the river with his hands, he then splashed it on his face. "And it's really cool too!" he then shouted as he then dried his face with a hand towel that he produced from a pocket of his shorts.

As he then let the towel rest on his neck to dry it, he noticed the girl, named Theria then attempt to cross the river with her magic. Bradwynne then watched her both with excitement and dread, as the thigh-high water level for both Akiva and himself will be at least chest-high for her, and so he then braced himself for anything. The girl then looked like she ran out of energy maintaining the platforms, and then fell to the water. Bradwynne then rushed towards her position and was about to wade into the river, but it seemed that the girl was fine as she then paddled his way to their side of the river.

"Thank goodness, I thought you will be a goner back there," Bradwynne said as he then walked towards the two. "By the way, I am Bradwynne. Nice to see you two." He then looked at the girl's clothes. "You really looked soaked. Maybe we need to start a fire somewhere so that you can dry yourself up. And maybe some food. The only edible things in this area are bears though, so we might defer it to later when we go to the village. Also I feel really bad when I had to mug good ol' Yogi for his picnic basket every time I go hungry. Except if he really asks for it."

Accepting the hand, Theria pulled herself out. "Ah, I'm fine, thanks for the help."

Feeling absolutely drenched, Theria decided that being wet out in the forest wasn't the best thing. As she started squeezing as much water out of her clothes as possible. Hopefully this will be enough until she could get enough mana to propery dry herself.

Theria entertained at the thought of making a fire, but decided that it would not be worse the hassle. They would be burning daylight and the faster she got to the village the better she would feel.

Turning to face the blonde, Theria responded: "I agree, going into town might be better. But don't worry, I can dry myself off later when its safer. I was trying going downstream to try to find a village, but decided to try to find some sort of highground to orient myself, but if you guys have a better idea lead the way."

At least Theria hoped she could dry herself off. She should have some spell that can deal with it. It will simply be a problem future Theria will have to deal with. Hopefully that will be the only problem future Theria will need to face she thought to herself.

Akiva laughed as Bradwynne splashed water on his face. "Feels good, doesn't it?" he replied as he shook his leg one at a time, trying to dry them a little more quickly.

He still couldn't get over how realistic the game was. It was a little overwhelming — disconcerting, even — the way he felt like he was actually alive here. The forest smelled like dead leaves and dirt and plants, and he marveled at the way the sun trickled through the leaves, beams of light that danced with motes. No wonder the game was so popular, even though it was illegal; it would be hard not to get addicted, especially for someone like her.

Town seemed like the best plan for the drenched little faerin. Akiva bobbed his head up and down. "As intriguing as bear sounds, let's get, uh, Theria, right? Theria to town before she gets sick." He paused and frowned, rubbing his chin.

Tilting his head to the side, he asked, muttering mostly to himself, "Can you even get sick in this game?"

Placing his hands on his hips and straightening to get a good view, Akiva surveyed the area, but it was just trees, trees, and more trees. His chin rubbing turned into cheek scratching, a sheepish smile spreading. "So, um, I think I'm a bit lost too. It all looks the same to me."

He turned to Bradwynne and claps his hands together, pleading, hoping that one of them wasn't an idiot. "You seem like you actually know how to play the game. How 'bout you take the lead? Please? Oh, and I gotta know how you managed to swipe from Yogi Bear's picnic basket from right under his nose."

When Akiva asked if it was really possible for people to get sick in this world, Bradwynne just responded, based on his knowledge of the game before he was locked in it, while he held his chin with his hand, "If you mean 'sickness' as in debuffs, it is a yes. Those whose temperatures drop to a certain threshold will receive a debuff that will lower their HP. Same thing also if their temperatures went up, or if they suffer from hunger or thirst. Those who are residents of this world, the Landers, do get sick though, same thing that we suffer from back in our world." Bradwynne then sighed, knowing that he would be part of the latter now. Free perks are over, it should be time to face reality. "Well then, let's get walkin' while we talkin'. Don't worry, I might not look like it, but I am a veteran of this game, and by my own volition, I decided to look after newcomers and beginners like you; and I am sure the Lion Arms would agree with what I am doing right now." Bradwynne would start to walk towards the direction of the village, but he would look behind him to see if the two others were within ten paces before he would start to walk again.

As he then walked, Bradwynne then remembered that he still did not answer the question about how did he beat up "good ol' Yogi Bear" to get his picnic basket, which most likely he stole from unlucky Travelers who wanted to camp out here. It was actually a euphemism that he invented because of Theria - he would not want her scarred for life because it was actually common for Travelers and Landers alike to hunt for game here and butcher and cook them on the spot. But most of the time it was well-deserved: the common carnivore fauna here were actually man-eaters and will not hesitate to kill a human on the spot. Like that bear who had spotted the three and was quietly and quickly prowling towards them on the spot while Bradwynne was still lost in thought.

"Well about Yogi..." he then muttered aloud, when he then noticed the bear was already close and was about to attack him. There was no time for fancy maneuvers, and so he then had his body instantly glow with a brilliant light, as he then would let a roundhouse kick fly.

"HOW ABOUT YOU DON'T INTRUDE THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN GROWN ADULTS YOU SILLY BEAR!" His boot then collided with the body of the bear, but although his kick was seemingly weak, the intense energy from his divine magic then sent the bear tumbling towards a tree, which made it unconscious, never to rise for some time, maybe even forever.

"Most likely that happened." He then said as he then lowered his foot and started walking again.
