Personality
Seris, the aspiring Bastet Assassin, is an estranged player to get close to. She is methodical, often appearing cold and distant. She’s completely socially inept; She doesn’t mind the idea of having friends, but has no emotional queue on what it means to be a friend. As such, despite joining parties during raids, one will likely find Seris taking her own paths, and only providing feedback when she feels it’s necessary. At least, until she trusts you enough, anyways, which is frankly a very uphill battle.
Shiori, the player, is equally as antisocial as the first. Unlike her in-game alias, Shiori lacks the physical confidence that her counterpart has, and gets flustered easily. She is typically almost always either reading a book, drinking coffee, or on a computer.
Shiori has an absolute obsession and acute fixation with cute things, especially stuffed animals. She is also obsessed with coffee.
Positive: Analytical, Calm, Collected, Genuine, Honest, Considerate, Caring, Helpful
Negative: Blunt, Holds grudges, overly sarcastic at times, paranoid, slow to trust anyone
Background
Shiori Masa was born in Japan, in the Shinjuku district. Her family was lower class, barely managing to pay bills, and often times would go weeks without electricity, or sometimes water. In primary school, Shiori was regularly picked on for her ragged socks, or her messy hair; to her, they were the strange ones, for spending so much money on brushes and clothes and things that could go to bills.
Needless to say, she had grown up rather fast mentally. Once she had turned twelve, however, her father had won a lot of money from a lottery, and had managed to get them out of the slums. Suddenly able to afford everything they could ever need, and her parents both able to get better jobs, things seemed to be looking up for Shiori and her family.
Throughout secondary school, Shiori had begun to make friends. She dressed nicer, her hair was clean, she was able to get prescription glasses, she had nicer clothes, and everyone that had used to pick on her were suddenly now practically flocking to her. Girls were always inviting her to get togethers, and boys of various classes would regularly leave her notes, or confess their love in the hallways, or try and walk her home after school.
Shiori always turned them down. She didn’t see how any of them could be her friend, let alone anything more; After all, she was nothing but poor, dirty, disgusting trash to them not even two years ago. The only thing that changed was her family’s income, and the fact that that was all it took for everyone to stop bullying her, frankly disgusted her.
In response, she graduated early, and as soon as she could, started any job that she could on the one thing she was better at than anything - electronics. Quickly finding a group online called ‘The Circle’ that had revolved around ethical hacking, to prevent scammers and criminals from commuting identity theft, she quickly joined them under the alias ‘S3R15’, and would assist people in fraud for freelance profit. The money that she made from her profession would eventually lead to her being able to pay her way and citizenship into the United States, where she would virtually be able to live off the grid and away from the Japanese government.
After a while, Shiori also joined the gaming scene, particularly enjoying games like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, and the Final Fantasy series. Eventually, someone from the Circle had sent her an encoded copy of TerraSphere, and deciding that she didn’t have too much else to do, she bought a rig and began to play.
