Personality
Fausto is glib by nature. He's failed to understand when to shut up (or more aptly how) throughout his entire life and has likely missed whatever window existed to learn such a skill. In addition to being glib he has a mean way around words. He can mollycoddle with the right diction but normally uses a more vicious edge when speaking with anyone. Obviously prone to trouble, he learned the best way out of trouble is by going through it. Even if he's not at fault in a situation he'll offer to take any blame.
With some level of distance from reality, Redan intensifies Fausto's worst traits. In addition to being a trouble maker he's found enough edge to imagine himself as trouble becoming able to fill himself with uncharacteristic bravado. With enough self-imposed hype he might go on to try anything, even when it should never work out or has never worked out. Now easily full of himself Redan Darc acts disrespectfully with ease and seems to have little respect for life that's not his in Terrasphere. This is tempered occasionally by the fact that despite all outward appearances he is really interested in the game, the mysterious lore, and pushing the limits of VR.

Background
Fausto was the youngest child of a single parent family. He understood that his father had some history in the US military but was never informed closely about it or the circumstances of his death. While one of three children with just one mother his father's extended family was heavily involved in raising Fausto. Through them he was forced into "more prestigious," stuffier schools that he never particularly meshed with. The only benefit he ever found from that education was the access to strange less common extracurricular activities. The myriad of things he tried and eventually settling in to practicing archery at school became the only cudgel that could make him behave.
While in high school he was introduced to a strange rumor about a mystery game that had practically disappeared. The idea pushing him to dig deeper that next summer and learning little useful information. With no clear answer if this game even existed a passion to play it never left him and after years of attempts he finally managed to gain access to Terrasphere. Now with a quarter of his life spent anticipating it Fausto is ready to take the ghost game for all its worth.
