Personality
In front of the cameras, a bubbling personality that is eager to interact with others, overflowing with charisma and excitement. Half of it is genuine, the part that is born out of having a space in which to share the things that matter to her most, the part that likes the interaction. The remaining half, however, doesn't care for the spotlight, and finds it exhausting.
Rael presents herself to the world of Arcia as Isabella would in real life to someone whom she was meeting for the first time: with a quiet, calm disposition and a certain kindness to her person, slow in her appreciation of events unfolding all around her and others. Of little words and more a primary observer, she excels at being a good listener to any who might need one, even if she might not have advice to offer on the matter.
A break from pressures experienced in the real world, Terrasphere presents an opportunity for Rael to take things at her own pace and without the constant worry of pleasing others. She doesn't possess a desire for recognition or grandeur, content to leave the heroic acts to others better suited for them while she sits back and enjoys herself whenever she can afford to.
Her curiosity drives her every action, and with her passion for learning, it's no wonder that she has instead turned to the pursuit of Terrasphere and its many mysteries, intent on documenting every discovery and every story as it unfolds.
Positive: Organized, Imaginative, Curious, Soft-spoken
Negative: Indecisive, Oblivious, Excitable, Bashful
Background
Isabella started her streaming career mostly as a hobby.
A space in which she could share her interests, her costumes, and let the worries of the day melt away through online interaction. Short videos made up the majority of her page, and before long she found herself smiling at the thought of a viewer or two returning to leave comments on things she had posted.
Never would she have imagined that, in but a couple of years, her once small channel would become a source of support to pay for her student loans and other interests picked along the way. All she had to do was sit and entertain!
Easier said than done, especially with the added pressure that one wrong step would send it all crumbling down.
So long as it helped her ease the economical burden, she told herself again and again, she could endure it.
And then something unexpected happened.
It started shortly after posting a picture teasing the upcoming reveal of a cosplay she had been working on for quite a while, along with the details for her next stream. No sooner did she press the "upload" button, did her screen go immediately black, overtaken by a... video of sorts that she couldn't stop no matter how much she tried to click or button mash away.
The sequence repeated across every device available, illuminating the dark room she sat in as her phone, her TV, and even her console all spoke of the same game: Terrasphere. The one game she knew not to mention during her streams, unless she would like her channel to be deleted. The same one she had heard rumors about at the beginning of her senior year in high school, of how people who had played it never woke up.
Just as the rumors had started, so did they quiet down with the passage of time, becoming something of an urban legend. And now, everything had come back to life again, the proof of it right in front of her eyes.
Her screen returned to normal, and what followed was a barrage of comments posting about the ominous ad rather than the picture she'd posted. None wrote its name explicitly, or if they did, she wouldn't have been able to see their messages before they got deleted.
If the rumors from all those years ago were to be believed, then there'd be countless risks involved while playing the game itself. The logical thing would be to discard what had just happened, never think of it again, and move on with her life.
But she was curious. Far too curious.
Her phone, now sitting quietly beside her computer, came to life again with a small ring. This time, the screen didn't flash with a video, but with a notification from her personal email account.
An email from a stranger, and within it, an invitation.
