Personality
Quinn is a complete buffoon who doesn't take life very seriously. In school, he was always the class clown. He didn't care about social nicety or pretence; Quinn has always aspired to be true to himself. This youthful energy may come off as juvenile to others, but being a jester comes with the perk of being able to approach problems in non-conventional ways and to think on his feet.
Beyond the silly antics, however, is an underlying competitiveness that drives the youth to constantly look for the next challenge to conquer. If it was a hurdle he couldn't surpass, Quinn would obsess over finding ways to break through, even if he had to figuratively bash his head against the wall.
If there was any aspect of his personality that would make him clash with others, it would be his need to meddle in the business of others. Quinn constantly wants to help others, regardless of whether or not they want it and whether or not the situation even calls for it. The one good thing to come out of that is his initiative to maintain long-term friendships; in fact, Quinn NEVER leaves a buddy hanging.
All in all, when it comes to Quinn or Kenji and for good or for bad, what you see is what you get.
Positive: Adaptable, Tenacious, Social, Loyal
Negative: Jokester, Thrill-seeker, Obsessive, Curious, Meddlesome
Background
The player behind Quinn was born in California and spent most of his childhood and adolescence growing up in Boston. Thanks to his middle-class upbringing, Kenji was able to enjoy all of the privileges that come from living in a wealthy country. There was nothing particularly interesting about his life apart from his joker antics in school, getting him into trouble with the teachers.
It was around his sophomore year in high school that Kenji underwent a sudden growth spurt that made him a head taller. With a new appreciation for the top of his parent's fridge, the youth got into basketball. What only started as a hobby grew into a passion, landing him a spot in varsity. Kenji's lightning-fast manoeuvres sparked a lot of interest in his skills. Anyone at the time could easily see Kenji's career trajectory as clear as day.
Throughout his high school years, Kenji dated a girl too. There was something that clicked, hard, between them. There was a point where he was so sure they were going to marry too, but life doesn't often turn out how it may seem.
After a bad car crash at the end of his senior year, Kenji's career was essentially terminated when he lost one of his legs. The youth wasn't ever going to shoot balls again, even with prosthetics.
The accident changed Kenji. Although he outwardly maintained his personality from before, there was a deep sadness and anger underlying most of his interactions with others. The sudden change in life plan put a lot of distance between him and Dayeon, which ended up veering them in different directions.
While Kenji locked himself inside his room for a while, wasting the majority of his time on the internet and playing games, he encountered a QR code that changed his life.
Whereas Kenji felt chained down by his demons in the real world, the game liberated him. Social anxieties, expectations, responsibilities, and pain all vanished whenever he logged into the game. He had never felt more himself than when he was adventuring in the beautiful albeit deadly world.
It didn't last though—Terrasphere went down and Kenji was barred from his escape. In the four years that followed, Kenji was forced to face his struggles without the game to fall back on as a crutch. Although he was well on his way toward recovery, an email with the QR alerted him that Terrasphere was coming back.

You messed with time and now your consciousness is split into multiple realities. Whenever you roll a non-combat die, roll one more and use the latter result. You can see your fractured timeline, but cannot do anything about it.
