Personality
Penthesilea is a woman who guides herself through the world with a rather severe sense of decorum. Often courteous and diplomatic, Penthesilea considers her strict adherence to decorum to be her greatest strength. This is all borne from her insistence of keeping up "professional" appearances. She prides herself in what she would call her unshakable nature, however many who have interacted with her for prolonged stints would suggest otherwise, or would offer up the counterproposal that she is just remarkably stubborn. Her greatest enemy is most often her great temper, which she mainly addresses by not addressing. Otherwise, she usually seems to favor a somewhat warm, if not understated demeanor.
As it goes, she has very little patience for a wide range of activities and attitudes that she would classify as foolish; she takes it personally if she is ever put into a position where she feels as if her time is being wasted. Luckily, she is rarely upfront about her feelings towards others, as she prefers to be in the good graces of--at the very least--one other person. What will often get in the way of her ability to connect with others is her often brutally bitter cynicism. Having personally crushed her own dreams at a young age, she has a very grim view of the world, and most of the people living in it. Astute as she may be, she quite often jumps to some of the most upsetting conclusions--no matter how well of a first impression any individual may have given her--when interacting with others. While she would like to be proven wrong, nothing gives her a greater sense of vindication than when her suspicions concerning a given person turn out to be correct.

Born an only child to busy parents in the ever bustling Brescia, Italy, Sofia felt as if here parents were merely ghosts for much of her childhood. Luckily, Sofia was never lonely; she spent much of her time in her grandfather's café, where she began a deep kinship with espresso from an unhealthily early age. Even as technology marched on, her grandfather still had a great love for the beautiful world of Italy's "golden age" of cinema. Such a love was passed on to Sofia who had especially fallen deeply in love with the works of Fellini. For a time, she wanted to become a filmmaker herself.
A wonderful aspect of the time she had been raised in was the ubiquitous availability of a camera. Dreams of filmmaking didn't have to be limited to the pure sphere of dreams, with nothing more than her smartphone she was able to articulate them. Many of these films were brief, pretentious disasters. Never dissuaded by even the harshest of criticism, she knew she had plenty of room to improve. But as novel as her parents found her interest in the cinema of mid-twentieth century, they expressed a lot of concern for her possible future if she devoted so much time to such "lackadaisical" matters.
Sadly, her grandfather passed away, and with him, the café in a mess of probate and liquidation. Heartbroken, her relationship with film had soured. Sofia had finally begun to fear that her parents may have been right. Casting aside her beloved directorial aspirations, she would be a woman without dreams. Focusing on her studies she would eventually make her way to Sapenzia where, conflicted, she decided to pursue an education in various fields of international relations and cybersecurity under the suggestion of her father. With an eye for detail, trained from years of frame by frame examinations of films, she managed to impress several of her professors. With the help of their recommendations, she was able to begin work within the service after her post-graduate studies.
Quickly she sunk her teeth into unraveling the world of international cyberterrorism. After being relocated to Macau she continued her rather relentless career. It was within her work at the service that she learned of Terrasphere, first as a briefing and later as something far more tangible. For too long the game loomed overhead as an incidental part of a far more serious investigation, simply as a favorite pastime of a saboteur who had been hiding out in Singapore. Even long after his arrest and extradition, she kept thinking back to his bizarre testimonies of this fully realized world. Against her normally sound judgment, she decided to acquire her own way into the application (off-record, illegally), from there, perhaps get another chance of living a life with dreams.
