Personality
Justin is often apathetic and depressed, in a place where he feels repressed and like his future is all television static in-between cries for help echoing from his present. He is bordering on nice just because he can come off as careless sometimes or self-centered, even if he is polite when he talks to others.
Juniper, instead, is much happier, more expressive, and finally feeling like she has a future. Because of this, she is keen on supporting others and helping others find happiness like she did, going out of her way to do so. She is not the most brave or social person, but she's getting better at it with all the more experience she's been getting in Terrasphere.

Background
Justin was born to religious and political extremists that constantly attended rallies, took him to church and planted warped ideas about the world in his head. Slowly, as he grew and began to get online, he was exposed to other ideas and slowly began to resent his parents. This rift grew bigger and greater until eventually they were only ever arguing and nothing else. Still, he kept up with his studies and other hobbies for the most part.
Until he realized what he was missing, and how awful it was to be without it.
Juniper was a persona he found while trying out Terrasphere after a lot of deliberation on what his character should be. It'd been like a metamorphosis, a revelation beyond what he could have hoped for. He'd thought they were only fantasies, idle daydreams, but in Terrasphere he found the girl of his dreams. Not the one he wanted to be with, the girl he'd always envisioned in his dreams was him.
She cried when she logged off Terrasphere that night. She cried because she knew that this life was going to be the lie until she could be her true self. She cried because she'd never been so happy and she didn't want to give it up. Not to mention that transitioning would mean coming out to her parents eventually or moving out.
Both seemed impossible. Everything seemed hopeless.
Until she logged in again, and all was right as rain.
