Personality
Jonah is very competitive in his nature. He is driven to become the best at whatever he sets his mind towards. Often at the expense of his own personal wellbeing. As it often manifests for Jonah, it's learning how to be the best player in whatever fighting game he is trying out at the time. While he is competitive, Jonah is not a sore loser. The end result doesn't really matter if he is having fun on the way towards it.
It is rare to see Jonah not happy and full of energy, especially when surrounded by other people. It's in these moments that Jonah has the tendency to show off in whatever skill he is performing.
Jonah has a very addictive personality. When Jonah finds something that he enjoys he goes all-in on whatever evokes that feeling. When it starts to give him diminishing returns, he goes further to recapture that feeling. The strongest rush Jonah has ever felt was during top sets in tournaments where he got the chance to play against the best of the best in whatever game he was playing at the time.
Positive: Ambitious, Adept, Cheerful, Energetic,
Negative: Cocky, Impulsive, Short-sighted, Fickle, Single-Minded
Background
From a young age, Jonah quickly grew a passion for video games. It started simply enough, he played a few games at a local arcade and found himself gravitating towards fighting games. There was something almost... addictive to it. Playing a match against someone who is clearly better than you while a crowd of people is watching is an intense feeling. Over time (and lots of quarters) Jonah found himself outplaying the best players in his area. With skill, came cockiness. He could easily beat these people at the arcade or at local tournaments so he began to show off. Playing lower-tier characters or playing in a way that prioritized style over actual function.
Jonah eventually began to compete in Major tournaments around the country under the tag of "Jango". He would win some, and lose more often. Not for a lack of skill, mainly because he could not help himself go for the plays that would excite the audience. Jonah developed a divisive reputation through this. While some found his playstyle exciting to watch, others found it disrespectful. This has manifested in Jonah's awful win rate in comparison with the top players. In his mind, winning against the very best in the safest way is too lame of a victory. If he is going to win, he's going to make it a win nobody will forget.
As time went on the feeling Jonah felt when playing these games began to die out. He tried anything he could to get that adrenaline back. New characters, playing with a handicap, he even tried hopping around to new fighting games. Nothing worked. It was around this time that Jonah heard of Terrasphere. A rumored MMORPG that put you in actual physical danger while playing it? Sounded like exactly the fix he needed. It took him an incredibly long amount of time, but eventually, enough forum digging and some well-spent cash finally secured him a download code.
