Personality
NOVA has gone through a LOT these past few years, changing her offline personality quite considerably from her online persona. When TS closed, NOVA went into psycho mode. She shut herself off from the world entirely. This caused her personality to take a dramatic change. NOVA is a bubbly person when she is in the eye of the public, or in her online avatar "Ilya". She tries as hard as possible to not be seen as much as she used to be in the world offline of Terrasphere, but when she inevitably is out and about she always adopts a mask to let the world see that her life is perfect. In reality and behind closed doors, NOVA self-deprecates and is constantly at her worst. She is always insecure, anxious and depressive. The day that Terrasphere came back, NOVA became happy again, finding the familiar presence of the game a relief.
This was what birthed her current online persona, the bubbly, demanding and charismatic lion. She obsesses over her friends and puts them above all else. As long as they're in her life and she can keep going on adventures, then the real world can continue to suck. As long as she has Terrasphere, her world would be complete.

Background
Prior to Terrasphere shutting down, NOVA was just a normal girl. Growing up in the slums of Illinois with her single parent, her mother. She never knew her father and it caused her to hold great appreciation for her mother who was running the household and raising her. They had no outside support due to the fact that her mother's family was back in Japan. They had cast her away from her family the day she ran off with NOVA's father and moved to America.
Growing up not knowing her grandparents or father wasn't as nearly hard as it should have been; given the outstanding love from her mother. NOVA was raised with two cultures, American and Japanese cultures. She worked hard and did what she could to help her mother in whatever way she could.; her mother would support her in turn.
NOVA had a passion for singing ever since she had been little and this carried on throughout her whole life. She partook in theater projects, posted covers and originals on YouTube. She found her way into every talent show in the state until she was recruited to go on a TV reality talent show series.
It took awhile to get parental permission, but her mother only wanted her to shoot for her goals. With her to back her up, NOVA went through with the series. Her voice gaining popularity as soon as she did her first audition. She made it through to semi-finals and although she didn't win, she had gained an audience. Her voice had been heard. Ever since that NOVA began to focus on school to await the day she could make her debut. At the age of 17 she finally made her debut, having finished Highschool a year earlier than the rest of her peers.
With her debut came even more fame, and that was when she met her ex-bestfriend. They were both up and coming artists with the potential to turn their passion into something that so many others could connect with. That was NOVA's whole goal, she didn't care about the fame or the money or the power. She only wanted to connect with others and help them... Even if she never knew them.
While keeping tabs on her hobby of music, NOVA also buried herself in her other hobbies in her free-time. Hobbies such as gaming, reading (books / manga) and watching anime. This is what led her to finding out about Terrasphere's existence.

When you close your eyes and focus, you can still see the black box and its faint, pulsing, red outline. A timer ticking down, though you can never read how long you have left.
